Error 16 with windows 7

Hi,
I've donloaded AE CS6 Trial a number of time but each time after a while I get the "error 16" message and will then will reload trial.
I've followed the documented fix which starts off as making the Adobe PCD folder able to be written to as it listed as read only.
I've attempted to change the attribute from the properties general tab to untick read only. This doesn't make the change.
I've confirmed I'm logged in as adminitrator.
I've went to the Microsoft site and found that Windows 7 doesnt allow you to change the folder attribute from the properties general tab.
I then used the cmd "attribut -r path folder" and that did not work.
I can't believe that I am the only only person runing Windows 7 (Home) and AE CS6. (Or am I?)
Is there anyone out there using W7 and AE CS6 sucessfully? If so, how in the heck did you get it to run?????

Error 2356 with windows vista 64bit

I have had Itunes and Quicktime working fine but suddenly quicktime was nt working giving me an end program error when i need to play anything so i decided to reinstall Itunes and Quicktime but it started to even give me an error uninstalling them but i managed to manually uninstall them and delete even the reg files but when i try to installl any of them now its gives me an 2356 error
Please advise?

Error ~69 with Windows Vista?

I just purchased a new Gateway with Windows Vista to replace my Dell with XP. Ever since I purchased my Gateway, I am unable to sync any iTunes purchases or material imported from CDs to my iPod 30GB. I keep receiving the ~69 message "Unable to sync to iPod. An unknown error occurred. (~69)." Following this error, the iPod only seems to sync the songs that I've recently played on my iPod when it's been disconnected from my computer.
Is this a problem with my iPod, Vista, or some combination of the two? I do not see any songs that should be causing a problem, and my entire library synced with no problems on the Dell XP machine.

Error printing with Windows 7 even after unistalling old and installing new driver

I recently updated to 64-bit Windows 7 and cannot get my HP OfficeJetJ4580 working after the upgrade. I uninstalled all prior printer drivers and ran the recommended software from the HP site to ensure there were no remaining drivers on my system, then installed the updated drivers for use with WIndows 7. The driver isntallation said it was successfula dn that my printer was ready for use.
When I try to print, the job is sent to the print que. The print que immedialtely notes "Error printing" and deletes the job from the que. The printer never responds or tries to print. This happens with anything I try to print, including a test page. No error message is dispalyed on my screen. The only way I can see the error is by opening up the print que and looking at the pending jobs. I went to the HP support center and downloaded and ran the printer diagnostic sofware they had on there. It could not detect any problems with the printer.
I am at a complete loss as to what to try next.

I see you are running into installation issues. I would like to help.
I would suggest Uninstalling the Printer Software.
Once it is uninstalled, I'd recommend putting your system into clean boot mode within the Microsoft configuration. You can do so by following this document: How to perform a clean boot in Windows.
After the computer has been put in clean boot mode, I would suggest reinstalling the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows.

Error -54 with windows 8.1 and iOS 7.1.2

I tried adding two albums to my iTouch 5 with windows 8.1 and recently updated my iTouch's OS to version 7.1.2. I keep getting the error -54, saying it couldn't be synced but it still keeps sycing and comes up a lot. I tried restoring my iTouch and restarting my laptop, can anyone help?

That's weird. Here it is in full.
It may be too late for you to try what I did, but by the looks of it, it will be viewed many times going forward.
I noticed I was having the problem with songs that had been in WMA format but converted by iTunes. From what I read, this error is actually about permission issues for the files. I tried changing the permissions on the directory and cascade them to each file, but that didn't work. Reading more, one user got around the problem by zipping the problem files and use the files from the zip to sync. That worked for them. I tried that and it didn't work. Then I just figured there is some residual setting either on the iPad or in iTunes that was still hosing me.
I'd gotten pretty annoyed by this time so I figured I have to start with a clean slate. I reset the iPad to factory condition. I then went to windows restore and selected the restore point prior to installing iTunes. I then went thru the painful process of setting everything up again. Once I was installed and let the music be added to iTunes, I went thru and "unchecked" everything I didn't care if it went to the iPad. That was frustrating since I didn't actually have any check boxes showing. Since I was going to exclude whole albums, I did a right click on one in iTunes and there was an option in the context menu to uncheck the box. I did this for all the unwanted albums At this point, I connected the iPad and it was recognized. I went to the page to set up the syncing options. I tried to do it manually, but that was going to be a huge pain so I did the automatic sync and check the box to NOT sync unchecked items.
Finally, it started to work. I still got about 15 of the error -54 messages. I just clicked it away and the syncing continued.Since I had nearly 2000 songs transfer, I don't know which caused the error but I now have music on my iPad.
It's a lot of work, but I finally got the results I wanted. Hope this helps.

Boot error 34 with Windows 8.1 on Lenovo Yoga 13

Bought my Yoga 13 with Windows 8 pre-installed and updated it to 8.1. Worked since Oct 2013. Starting yesterday after shutdown and new power on allways get blue screen saying:

No recovery tools came with the product. Are there any hints on how to proceed or produce a bootable USB device for Windows 8.1? How can I find my Windows product key if it is needed to download any corresponding licensed software?

You can always download Windows 8.1 trial edition and create a bootable USB disk. That will help you boot to WinRE (Windows Recovery Enviroment). Once booted you can run bootrec to fix your bcd

Since you upgraded from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1, the product key that you have will be for Windows 8. Most of the manufacturers paste the license key bottom of the device. If you do not find it there, please contact the vendor.

Turned off my firewall and tried but still didnt work. Rang Apple Care and went through about 10 things. Didnt resolve.
I then tried different media and a CDRW worked.
I wasted 10 CD-Rs today
Not really sure if its a media problem as 2 CD-Rs out of the same batch worked yesterday.

It may also be that you have a 64-bit system. In that case, you are probably out of luck with using AA7. With a 32-bit system you may have some success. I was successful with AA5 on a Win7, 32-bit system. AcroTray does not work, so I had to do a workaround and it is usable. Of course, I really do not use AA5 on that system, but AA XI. The AA5 install was just a test.
So if you have succeeded in installing AA7 itself (let's not talk about the print driver yet), can it be opened and allow you to read PDF files? If so, then the next step is to test out the printer. Of course, with Win8, you are almost guaranteed to have to update AA7 to get it to work properly, if at all. You can download the updates and install them in order, rebooting after the last update or do the updates from the Help menu in AA7.
The updates may enable the print driver. If so, the next step is to try to print to file with the printer. If that is successful, open the file in Distiller to see if you can successfully get a PDF. If so, then you have probably as much as you are going to get. However, the next step would be to try to print to the driver without print-to-file selected. This step using AcroTray is usually what breaks down.
You link sugggests right up front that 64-bit systems are a problem and create this error. A lot of new systems are 64-bit (for general use not a great idea in my view). Also, when you install you should be logged in as the adminstrator and have anti-virus disabled. A work-around might be to install another PS printer (typically one of the HP printer) and change it's name to Adobe PDF. You will probably not have an Adobe PDF port and will have to change the port to FILE. That may be enough to get it to work. It might not be the most satisfactory solution, but it may give you something to use. The best idea is to upgrade to AA XI. You may also be able to set some 32-bit compatibility settings, but I really don't know much about that process.

Windows update error 0x80070BC9 with windows 7

I have only one Windows 7 machine which has started to show 80070BC9 in Windowsupdate.log file when trying to install Windows updates KB2478662. I believe this refers to a "pending update" which needs to be completed before other updates can follow (normally
after a reboot).
I restarted the computer many times, tried to install this update manually, tried .Net cleanup tool, strated the computer in selective startup mode (without load startup items) and reset Windows update components. unfortunately I still
have the same problem.
I get the following in Windowsupdate.log file:

I understand that the issue persists after registering the Windows Update files and removing incorrect Registry values that may exist. And before that
you have tried manually installation, disable antivirus, checksur but the update still cannot be installed.
Based on my experience, the update fail issue may occur when there are problems with winsxs folder, disk or Software Distribution folder. Please try the steps below and check the
result.

1.
Rename Pending.xml
1). Open an elevated command prompt
2). At the command prompt type the following command:
takeown /f C:\Windows\winsxs\pending.xml
3). Rename c:\windows\winsxs\pending.xml using the following command:
Ren c:\windows\winsxs\pending.xml pending.old
2. Run Check disk (chkdsk) on the OS partition
1). Open an elevated command prompt
2). At the command prompt type the following command:
Chkdsk volume: /f /r
3. Rename the Software Distribution folder
To rename the Windows Update temporary SoftwareDistribution directory follow these steps:
1). Start an administrative command prompt.
2). Run the following commands hitting enter after each line:
Net stop wuauserv
cd %systemroot%
Ren SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
Net start wuauserv
3). Try to install updates again
Important The following issues occur when you do this:
• Updates that are currently downloaded but that have not yet been installed have to be downloaded again by using Windows Update or Microsoft Update.
• When you delete the Software Distribution folder, your download history is removed.
• If you currently receive updates from Microsoft Update and from Windows Update, you will have to re-select this option from the Windows Update Web site.
Note: If the issue is resolved and you can successfully download and install updates, you can safely delete the SoftwareDistribution.old directory to recover disk space.

FTP error 426 with Windows IIS server

Dear SAP,
We are experiencing an issue between SAP PI 7.0 SP15 on P-Series AIX IBM Server and the Windows IIS FTP server. The interface in PI does connect to 3 systems with the FTP file adapter (a Mainframe, an AS400 and a Windows IIS FTP server). The mainframe and the AS400 connection are working fine but for the IIS we are getting a FTP failure in 90% of the transfers in 10% it works. With other clients (also one based on JFTP) everything works fine with the IIS server. The files are only 2kb and not to large as described in the File Adapter FAQ note.
There where tests with active (FTP failure 500) and passive connections, the timeout value was increased on both sides. The connection bandwidth reached never more than 40% and there were always enough CPU processes available on both sides.
Following technical details for the passive connection failure:

Installation of Elements 9 error message with Windows 7

I have just purchased Photoshop Elements 9 in a factory sealed box. I have Windows 7 loaded onto a Lenovo ThinkPad that has more than Elements 9 requires to install. I have tried to install it five times and always get the same error message as follows:

Error 1935. An error occurred during the installation of assembly component

What is the problem? I am very frustrated.

Blessings on you. I am very far from being any kind of a geek when it comes to computers, so I was intimidated when I looked at all the details contained in the link you provided. However, I did do the first and simplest solution which was to restart my computer. I confess to only doing this when necessary (the first thing one does when something does not work correctly) or when instructed to with updates. My last Windows update did not tell me to restart and so I did not. When I did it this morning there were two notices that came up on the restarting screen that do not usually appear. One had to do with configuring Windows updates and the other spent a long time doing something called "Cleaning Up." I restarted the installation CD and everything went as it was supposed to. thank you so very much.

Error message with Windows.....

Please help me!! I am NOT good with computers and just want iTunes to work for my new iPod nano. I've downloaded everything and can open iTunes but when I try to go to the iTunes store I'm getting an error message saying the following:
iTunes could not connect to the iTunes store. The network connection timed out. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, then try again.
What can I do to make iTunes work?!? Help!
BTW - I'm using a wireless Gateway laptop if that makes any difference?!?

Did you get an error number when you tried to connect?
Just taking a wild guess at it without any info, have you enabled iTunes in your firewall? You may need to do that to allow iTunes access to the internet.

Hi Hong - 0x80070005 literally means "Access Denied" on a resource. You can run Process Monitor while running WACK and see which resource is throwing that code.
