Error 2009 - when downgrading 3G iOS4 to 3.1.3

Hi guys,
I've been following http://lifehacker.com/5572003/how-to-downgrade-your-iphone-3g%5Bs%5D-from-ios-4- to-ios-313 to try and downgrade my iphone to 3.1.3. It is currently running on iOS 4.01. However, I keep getting the Error 2009 when I restore with the older file! Any ideas what to do here?
here is my error log:

I have no idea what Apple suggests or would suggest. What I do know is Apple does not support downgrading to an earlier firmware version and hacking an iPhone is against Apple's license agreement for the iPhone, and is not supported by Apple directly or indirectly via these discussions.
I have read a report that Apple is addressing this for 3G and 3GS owners with the problem with the next firmware update, which is in developer's hands as a BETA for testing and feedback and should be released soon.

  • MAX error 7411 when downgrading cFP 2120

    Hello,
I am running LV 8.2 for an old Industrial project that I am doing some changes to. The project is running on a cFP 2120. That cFP is running 24*7 in production.
The actual cFP 2120 I am trying to test my software on, currently has LV RT 2009 installed.
But I now need to downgrade it to LV RT 8.2.
I first tried using the MAX version (4.0.x) installed in LV 8.2, but when trying to do"Add/Remove" software, I get Error7411 as shown in link below:
    http://objective.no/gostemp/max_error_7411.jpg
I then tried to install MAX from my LV2009 distribution in the LV 8.2 environment. Installed fine, but when trying to run it, it complained that it was not properly installed.
I restored my PC, and tried to install MAX 4.4.1 from a LV 8.5.1 distribution. This version of MAX works fine, but I get the same Error 7411 when I try to click the "Add/remove"  software button.
    So, the question is:
    a) How do I clean the rt software (RT 2009) from the cFP2120 so that I can do a clean install of LV RT 8.2 onto it?
Please help, as all my searching has not given me any clue on how to do this !
    Geir Ove

    Hello Muks
Yes, I have seen that. Upgraded to Max that came with LV 2009, that rendered MAX useless: It complained about a "faulty installation".
Restored XP computer, and tried with MAX that came with LV 8.5.1. That version of MAX worked, but I get the same problem.
Funny that National haven't thougt of this. There should be a way of "cleaning" software off a cFP so that one could start with blank sheets and install any LVRT version onto it !
Any help from National Instrument staff?

  • Error 2009 when updating firmware

My iphone 4(USA and GSM), is actually on firmware 4.3.3, I was trying to fresh install at the same firmware, but itunes was always giving me error 3194(and yes I'm using the most actual itunes version(10.4) ), I gave up and tried updating it to 4.3.5, it turns off my iphone, when it's going to load the apple screen with a bar under it, my iphone begins to turn on and itunes gives me error 2009 or 2006 after some time, I've tried EVERYTHING, like, puttin into DFU mode(even special dfu mode), changing usb port, renitiating computer, reinstalling usb port, etc. I don't know what to do anymore! Is not a problem on the usb port seen that I  can sync with itunes normally, help me pleaze.
Thank you for your attention and time.

Edit the hosts file on your computer and remove any lines that contain gs.apple.com. As you didn't say what OS you have I can't tell you where to find it, but Google will help. BTW, undating to 4.3.5 will either brick the phone or remove the jailbreak. It's not a good idea to update jailbroken phones.

  • Iphone won't turn on, and says 'unknown error 2009' when trying to restore?

this morning my iphone turned off and wouldn't turn on. I plugged it into the charger and it said to connect it to itunes. Once i finally did that, at first it couldnt detect it but now it keeps telling me an iphone has been detected in recovery mode and to sync it I need to restore it.
Here's the problem, everytime i try to restore it, it comes up with something along the lines of, it cannot restore becvause of 'unknown error 2009' and as soon as i unplug the phone it turns off. What can I do?

I was doing some research on this problem for a friend and came across your post and thought I should share this:

  • Error 9 when updating to iOS4

The past couple of days whenever I went to go connect my iPod to my PC, iTunes has been telling me that an update is available for my iPod Touch. Since I had the morning off, I figured I'd finally update. When the update was done, I got a screen on my iPod with the iTunes logo and a white USB chord below it, and iTunes told me I had to recover my iPod before using it with iTunes. So I did.
However, when I tried to restore my iPod, it told me there was a problem with restoring it or something, and gave me the error code 9.
Anyone know how to fix this? I've tried looking on Youtube and Google, tried holding down the lock button and home button for ten seconds, then just the home button, didn't do a thing for me.

    Welcome to the forum.
    From [this article|http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1275]:
Error 9: This error occurs when the device unexpectedly drops off of the USB bus and communication stops. This can occur if the device is manually disconnected during the restore process. This issue can be resolved by performing USB isolation troubleshooting, using a different USB dock connector cable, trying another USB port, restoring on another computer, or by [eliminating conflicts from third-party security software|http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3125].
    Hope that solves your problem.

  • Error 1602 when updating to IOS4 and then not recognizing in Itunes

Started the update process this morning to update my Iphone 3G to IOS4, after about 2 hours it came up with the error "The Iphone could not be restored, an unknown error occured (1602)" after this the phone was stuck on the screen with connect to itunes therefore i was unable to use the phone. Tried connecting it to Itunes but it would not recognise the Iphone, tried everything from uninstalling Itunes and changing the drivers. Installed Itunes on a different PC and it recognised the IPHONE and updated it to IOS4. However by doing this on another PC it has now lost all my contacts, messages, apps, and music.grrrr...Only trouble is i still cannot connect it to the other PC. Both Pc's are running Windows 7 32bit. any help would be much appreciated.

Anybody out there that is pulling their hair out of the issue with Itunes not recognising the phone, go to Device Manager click on Portable Devices, Right Click on Apple Iphone, click on Update Driver, make sure you select Update Automatically, and then it will install the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver (Please Note this will be displayed in the Universal Serial Bus controllers section). Should then display in itunes, if not restart itunes. Where i was going wrong was i was telling the system to search in the apple drivers folder in C:\Program Files\Common Files, and these would not install due to a conflict with the Windows Picture Drivers. Hope this Helps

    Hello Philly,
I believe that when you reset your ipod(command given from the computer, right?)  touch WHILE the ipod was updating, It cleared the system in the middle of writing files, thus corrupting(equivalent of cutting of in the middle of a sentence) the basic running system.
I suggest you go to an apple store and ask for a technical diagonosis in person. they may offer to help if the problem is fixable. If your ipod is still under warrenty, i would guess it would be free/low cost.

  • Error 404 when trying to watch Macworld's Keynote 2009

    Hi guys,
I was trying to watch the '09 Keynote Address from Apple's site on both IE and Safari. On IE, I can enter the site (http://events.apple.com.edgesuite.net/0901ouabdcaw/event/index.html) but right after it goes to a page not found (http 404 error).
When accessing via Safari, I can enter to the page, Quicktime opens but then, a message of "Bad Request" appears.
Any thoughts on how to solve this?
    Regards,

Ditto for me... Unsupported media type trying to view standard keynote on mac 10.4.11 with QT Pro v7.5.5 and the HD version is super choppy, broken up as mentioned before.. constantly stops, real bad.. and I have a fast internet connection, so speed isnt issue there... tried IE, Firefox, Safari, all same problem.
Yet COULD watch the standard version or HD version keynote on a PC on same internet connection with QT (non-pro)7.5.5 (win XP 32 bit Home)
So hope the solution to this is not buy a PC and not use Pro QT... haha but seems to be the solution for me.

  • Error -2009 Converting a file to real media

    Hi
I need some help, i've upgraded my Quicktime 7.1.2 to Pro and i can't seem to convert files to real media and i keep getting error -2009 can anybody help??

There's no codec for converting to Real Media that
works on a Mac with QuickTime 7 that I know of; the
one from Real only works with QT6 and earlier. To
covert to Real's format, you may have to use a
    Windows system.
Now I'm confused. I upgraded to QuickTime 7 Pro (I had QT Player 7.1.3) so I could use the Real 10 Export Plug-in. The specs at Real say the plug-in needs QT6.0 or later. I'm getting the same -2009 error. (Original AIFF files were created with Audacity, but I tried turning them into QT files first when I started having trouble.) I understand about the incompatibility with OS 10.4, but I'm running 10.3.9 Panther. Does this mean I'd have to downgrade to QT6 Pro to use the plug-in -- is that even possible? Or is this enterprise a complete loss and I just threw away $30?

Looks like you can choose from :
-contact the maintainer to see if you can help with getting it to work with kernel 3.16
    - downgrade the kernel
    - switch to nouveau
Note that there are comments on the aur page that state nvidia-173xx doesn't work with xorg 1.16, so you may have to downgrade more then just the kernel.

  • Error Messages when trying to install, uninstall or run iTunes 9

I get the following error message when trying to Install iTunes:
The path C:\DOCUME~1\Frank\LOCALS~1\Temp\IXP206.TMP\iTunes.msi cannot be found. Verify that you have access to this location and try again, or try to find the installation package 'iTunes.msi' in a folder from which you can install the product iTunes.
I search my entire computer for the file but it's not there.
Then, when I try to uninstall the iTunes and start the install from scratch I get another error:
"The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable"
Catch-22, I can't install or uninstall and when I try to run iTunes I get:
"The action is only valid for products that are installed"
Very frustrating but I'm stumped and I don't know how to proceed. Any help would be very much appreciated.

wooooooooo!!! got it working again!! having spent the last 6 hours..no joke six f*cking hours trying to sort it ive finally got iTunes back!!
ok here is what you need to do:
go to the link below and download the Microsoft Windows Installer CleanUp Facility.
    http://www.locksleynet.com/2009/06/09/missing-itunesmsi-problem-resolved/
once you have downloaded it, install it and run it from the start menu. once its up and running remove everything to do with iTunes (so iTunes itself, quicktime, bonjour......the lot). Dont worry about removing iTunes completely, all the music is still there when it works again trust me!!
ok once you have removed everything restart your computer, im not sure if this is a must but i did it.
next download quicktime from the apple website (go to the 'downloads' tab near the top. download and install quicktime and restart your computer so the new settings are put in to place ( i think it asks you to restart anyway).
go back to the apple website, 'downloads' tab and download iTunes itself. install that bad boy and you will be up and running with all your library intact!
Hope it works for you mate!

I updated itunes to 10.4, my ipod touch was wiped clean then errored (2003) when attempting to restore. Now my ipod is clear, when I turn it on I get the "Connect to itunes screen", this never goes. I have tried disabling my antivirus, to allow me to restore with no luck.
When I go into itunes I get the message - itunes has detected an ipod in recovery mode. You must restore this ipod before it can be used with itunes,
how am I supposed to do this ?
I would rather take the ipod to someone to do the restoration - I still have itunes with all of my downloads on my computer, I dont want to risk losing this as I can re-install onto my ipod when it is sorted.
