Error backing up after ios5

I upgraded itunes 10.5 and went to upgrade my iPhone to iOS5. I tried to back up manually after not seeing it back up automatically and there was no more option for backup when I control clicked my iPhone (on a powerbook). I assumed it was due to haveing an older iOS, so I upgraded anyway and lost everything and had to set up my preferences from scratch. I have synced successfully but itunes will not backup my iphone. I have tried manually again and it does not show up as an option. I then decided to try at work and noticed the option on my PC at work, but I did not backup yet. I then came home to try and reinstall itunes sense it seems that is the problem, but that did not work.
Also, I tried add a password on the summary page of my iphone, to try and force it to back up but I recieved an unknown error that does not google 0x4685D275
I'm very fustrated as this makes no sense, any help would be very appreciated. System specs below.
Macbook pro, OSX Lion, 4 gig RAM, iTunes 10.5, iPhone 4 iOS5. Very tech savy.

Well, after digging into the Discussions some more I found Jeff Holland's reply to someone and did both the 3.2.1 updater and then the 3.3b3. They fixed the problem and now I get error-free backups again. Jeff was also kind enough to respond to me from Propaganda Productions with the update site.
I really dislike the changes in the Discussions format. I can never find info as quickly as I did for years before; I'm still trying to figure out how to navigate this site!

Cannot restore from back-up after iOS5 upgrade

First try to restore after upgrade (original uppgrade process) iTunes said last available backup was time-stamped 11.34 but when chosen it was not accessible due to error 32 Backup missing.
Trying to reset the unit to gain access to older backups iTunes claims my password for the backup is incorrect even though I know it's correct, thus I cannot resore after iOS5 upgrade.
Looking in the folder (win XP machine) where the back-ups are stored it seems like there are no older backup available and my whole pic and vid library is gone! 2.5 yrs of images of my children!!!
What to do?

Sounds similar to my issue, I know my password is correct, even changed password in hopes that perhaps I was making a mistake, yet I wasn't. I backed up all my pix on an alternate computer, but my issue was that I used the voice memo recorder to record songs on the fly when I'm not at home, or just too lazy to hook up my studio gear. . . All that was backed up. . . yet, I'm told I'm entering the wrong password, I know it's not, but I guess I don't know how to type. . . I haven't searched for backup files in any location, other than looking to see if my pix were backing up as it quit syncing pix a couple months ago. No pix were backed up, so I plugged into a different computer, and that pc took em just fine.

Installed new HD on Mid-2009 MBP, installed Mavericks, now getting "error code -50" after being on for a while.

So I had the stock 320gb drive that came with my machine. It started crashing, so I pre-empted the loss of data and installed a spare Western Digital 500gb Scorpio Blue drive, installed Mavericks, and restored my data. Almost immediately I began having sporadic issues with the machine being unable to write to the disk, giving me "error code -50" after being on for about a day or so. I usually just restart and it will work for another day or so, but this is getting very tedious, and I'm a bit worried it might be straining the machine, since I can only hard restart (holding power button) when this happens. Usually, right after restarting, I repair the disk permissions, and this seems to fix things.
Is this maybe a bad OS install? Maybe I should back up and try it all again? Or is there a software issue I'm not seeing a solution for anywhere? Most people who are getting the "error code -50" messages seem to be getting them on external drives. Is it just a compatibility issue and I need to seek a new drive?

Even though I read about it I had not touched any SMS settings in OS X since I did not have any problems before. I disabled SMS in Mac, let's see now.

you could try the same thing as well.
In my case I doubt it is the problem because it worked fine before Mavericks, although forcing restart may have done something. I hope disabling SMS helped.

Error 150:30 after restoring CS4 from Time Machine backup

I just got myself a new Imac with OS X Maverick and set it up using a time-machine-backup. My Adobe CS4 now has a Problem with the license and shows me error: 150:30?
Do I need to uninstall CS4 and reinstall? Is there any easier solution to this problem?

Restoring from Time Machine backups invariably breaks the activation mechanism (Error 150:30) and there's no easy way to fix a 150:30 error other than via re-installing.

After ios5 update, iCal week view Oct 2-8 has 2 Saturdays?

Is anyone else having problems with iCal week view on iPad after ios5 update?
Two major changes have occurred...
1. Week view used to start on Monday, now Sunday (and can't change it back).
2. If you look at the week October 2-8, 2011 there are 2 Saturdays and no Friday or following Saturday...
Any ideas? Is this a wait for ios5.1 issue?

If you are using a Mac, go to Settings>Software Update ... check for any updates, and update all.
Chances are you are not using iTunes 10.5, which is required to sync iOS 5.
If youare using a PC, suggest you uninstall your iTunes, download fresh iTunes 10.5 from Apple.com/itunes and install it.

Firefox fails to startup, with no error message whatsoever, after installing the Fireftp add-on.

Firefox fails to startup on OS X 10.6.4, after I install the FireFTP plugin. There's no crash message or anything, just a bouncing icon on the dock and then nothing happens. Creating a new profile solves the issue until i install FireFTP, which again produces the same effect.

It looks as though you have followed the correct steps and no, you do not need to lift up both levers at the same time.
The error code 5100 indicates that an internal error has occurred which may be resolved by resetting the printer. Please follow these steps for isolating and resetting the printer:
1. Open the printer's front cover, and then open and close the print head lock lever (do not remove the print head).
2. Make sure all ink tanks are seated properly.
3. Make sure all packing materials have been removed.
4. Make sure no paper is jammed in the printer.
5. Disconnect the printer cable from the printer.
6. Close the front cover and turn the printer off.
7. Unplug the printer from the power source, and then plug it back in after five minutes.
8. Power on the printer.
If the error returns, the printer will require service options. I realize you have just purchased this and wanted to let you know that this is not the normal operation of our printers. What I would recommend is contacting a Canon Representative using the following link to learn of your service options. Contact Us.

Error message (-50) after updating to 7.3 version

Hi i recently just updated to the newest itunes update which included the new iphone features and stuff (7.3. after i updated i went into my itunes library to find a recurring message dialog saying
[The itunes library file cannot be saved. an unknown error occurred (-50)]
after clicking do not warn again box. i soon found out that my library wasn't saving songs i was putting in to it like new purchased songs and other stuff came the next time i started itunes.
i am asking what the problem is??? if any help would be great

This bug did in fact appear for many of us when we upgraded to iTunes 7.3.
Here 's a lengthy thread that discusses some possible solutions.
For what it's worth, I uninstalled 7.3 and rolled back to an earlier version of iTunes.

ERROR Backing Up Curve 8330

WHen i attempt to backup my device its gets about 98% done then hangs for a few seconds and returns with the following error :

ive cleared the browser cache and reboted the device but i still get the same error , This just started happening today i never encountered ANY erros proir to this, can someone help me out here i only had this BB for 4 days so im a real Newb

By using desktop manager and Deleteing the Cace Manually

RingTones I purchased was removed after iOS5 update! Thanks APPLE!

I purchased 3 ringtones in Nov and downloaded them to my phone, all is good. Then I get a message that there is an update. I am a good apple customer so I update my phone with the iOS5. Then I noticed my ringtones have disappeared. I can see the ringtones in my library under tones. I can see the tones when I click on my device when linked to my computer. I can play the tones in the library under tones. I have tried to sync the phone a million times and the tones will not go back on my phone. Technical support wants to charge me $30 to tell me how to get my $5 dollars worth of tones back. Anyone have an idea?

I have done all of the above. The custom tones I got back working after changing the tone under the contacts and back to the one I wanted, Only problem is now my purchased tones don't want to work they show under sound control and play but when assigned nothing.

Hi I had a similar issue to you, I could connect to the router but no internet. Here is my explanation of how I sorted it.....I hope this works for you.
*To anyone that is reading this it appears that the problem lay in the airport setting: IPV6: set to 'Automatically'. I turned it off (after reading someones plight on MacFixIt) & everything is back to normal.*
*The worrying thing is although my problem was extreme with other computers on the network being locked out nothing was changed, one minute it worked the next it didn't. Reading on other forums it appears to be a problem with laptops (but I could be mistaken). A lot of people on the Macfixit forum are complaining of network just dropping out even when they are next to the router.*
*I hope this is the fix (although I dont know why it suddenly went to sh*t!) & I hope my hair pulling & trawling the forums can help someone else out.*

apps wont transfer after ios5.1.1 upgrade. This upgrade has me pulling out my hair. the device is running very slow and apps wont transfer back into the ipad from my library. anyone else having this issue? what do i do about it? is it possible to roll back the OS? Thanks for any help with this matter. And a curse on whoever came up with this so called upgrade!!

If you are using the original iPad it is possible that this upgrade could slow down the iPad since that model just doesn't have the processor power er and speed of the iPad2 and the new iPad. Unfortunately, you cannot downgrade the iOS - officially.
Have you tried rebooting the iPad? Quitting all apps and restarting?
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Quit the app completely and restart the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Make sure that you are signed into the correct account in - Settings>Store>Apple ID for the apps that will not sync. And are you sure that the apps are selected to sync in your iTunes sync preferences?

Disconnected from what? the computer? Did you connect to the computer again, launch iTunes and then do as I described above?
You have selected all of the apps to sync - put checkmarks in all of the boxes next to the app names and have the Sync Apps heading checked as well?
Do you have restrictions set on the iPad? Settings>General>Restrictions>On?
Are you signed into the correct iTunes account on the iPad and the computer?

Time Machine Error - Back up Directory

I have searched the forum but didn't see anything specific on this. I have recently purchased the Time Capsule to go along with Time Machine and am having problems backing up after the first back up. Was able to complete the first back up but subsequent backups gives me an error "Time Machine Error. Unable to complete backup. Can not create back up directory."
Has anyone seen this and if so, have they determined a fix? I have unmounted and mounted drive. I looked for any .com.apple preferences that are related to Time Machine and found none. Might be the problem but I can't find solution.

As you'll see, the first one was a failing disk drive; the second never had a resolution posted (people often don't tell us what fixed their problems). So I'd be inclined to suspect your drive, since you've tried both USB and FW, pretty much ruling out cables, ports, loose connections, etc.
How long did you use this disk before the problems started?
Did you erase and format it, or use it as it came?
Do you have any of the "heavy-duty" disk repair apps, like DiskWarrior? I'm not really familiar with them, but some are far more rigorous than DU.
