Error because of wrong page definition/binding container
Hello -
(Using JDev 10.1.3 JSF w/ADF BC)
I'm running into a weird "issue" involving setting up the binding container.
I have one page that has a table of data. I select a row and hit a button to navigate to a page with an edit form.
In the page definition (for the page with the edit form), I list a managed bean as the ControllerClass. (I use the bean as a PagePhaseListener.) I've also added bindings (#{bindings}) as a managed property for that bean.
In the managed bean I grab a hold of an attribute binding from the binding container in my beforePhase method (when the phase id is Lifecycle.PREPARE_RENDER_ID). However, I was always getting NULL for the attribute binding (which then caused a null pointer exception).
When I paused the execution in the debugger, it looks like the binding container was still set up for the previous page (the page with the table in it). Opening up the bindings variable, I found a member mBindingContainerDef which had members mObjName and mFullName which seemed to indicate that the binding container was the one for the previous page, NOT the page with my edit form. (mFullName had the full name and classpath for the first page's page definition.)
Why is this? I only indicate that the bean is a ControllerClass in the page definition for the 2nd page --> so shouldn't that be the binding container in effect when the PagePhaseListener methods are executed?
-- Scott
Scott,
I assume that your PhaseListener doesn'tdistinguish between the actual navigation and the JSF postback that is issued to the same page. In your case I assume that the PhaseListener is invoked on postback and thus ADF Faces points to the "old pagedef" file.

Hi,
I created a form and when I submit, it goes through but there is no "success" or "failure" message on Apex. I tried debugging it and got this message:
"Page contains page items/buttons which are not assigned to a region!"
I looked at the page definition and it seems like everything is assigned to a region. Much appreciate your help.
Thanks!For your message, the relevant branch needs "include process success message" to be checked - and a value in success/failure in your process.
Check the submitting & landing page for items not in a region. Under the items section there may be items listed separate to those under specific regions.
It's possible these are related, but not guaranteed. -

even more weird, regular X11 programs such as x{eyes,biff,emacs}
work fine.
I've tried tinkering with the contents of ~/sshconfig and /etc/ssh_config
to no avail.
Is anyone else seeing this problem?
Any suggestions?
Thanks!I'm confused why you posted on the Tarantella/SGD Forum then?
Yes, you can use SGD to have your Mac client display back a Solaris/Linux/Windows/Mainframe, etc application remotely.

If you don't have one, why don't you try downloading one of these free browsers - they will all be "lite" versions (not full featured) - but if you can access these websites with one of those - then I assume that we can point to Safari as being the culprit. That will not solve the Safari problem, but it will give us another point from which to work.

Error: "X11 connection rejected because of wrong authentication"
I am not sure this is the correct forum to post this
question, if it is not, I'd appreciate it if someone would
tell me a more appropriate place.
I have an occasional problem when I use either ssh -X or ssh -Y
to a Oracle (nee Sun) Solaris host. I can run most
X11 programs but when I run one particular program, the
program will display this error message and fail:
X11 connection rejected because of wrong authentication.
The program which occasionally fails is the Symantec Netbackup
Server Administrator interface: jnbSA. Like I said other X11
programs run fine (xeyes, xbiff, xclock, etc.) It's just this
one application which fails intermittently. When it fails
it will display these messages:
DISPLAY environment variable is set to: p2:10.0
Console was started on:
SunOS p2 5.10 Generic_142900-15 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-V250
Command line options were:

Starting administration console version 6.5.

Like I said, I can start, say xclock, immediately after
the above termination, and it would run fine.
It is maddening because jnbSA works sometimes, and
fails with the above errors at other times.
I have tried to follow this on the X11 forums, but
most suggest making a change to /etc/sshd_config and
while I tried changing that, it still does not correct
this problem.
Suggestions?I'm confused why you posted on the Tarantella/SGD Forum then?
Yes, you can use SGD to have your Mac client display back a Solaris/Linux/Windows/Mainframe, etc application remotely.

Smartform form {T_HEADER} has wrong page format
I have a header window that contains a table for column headings just above my main window. Somehow in the process of inserting a column and adjusting the size, I caused the following error to continue each time I attempt to print preview the form:
Form T_HEADER has wrong page format.
I have reviewed the details of the table to verify the width and the total of the line type column widths match. The header window that contains the table also has the same width. I am confused as to why I continue to get this error, but it is keeping me from testing any other changes to the form. I am stuck here.
P.S. I searched this forum for "form has wrong page format" and found one similar post that did not answer my issue.
Thanks in advance.
-PAhi Phillip,
the easiest thing is that you download your form and upload it here, so I got a chance to import it and have a look at exact the same dataset as you do. OF course, delete all the stuff you don't want to share and is unnecessary to fix this issue.
You can try one thing before, delete the table and create a new one with the same formats. Sometimes the compiler interpret it wrong because... I don't know why, but I realized that just delete helped

Clear page definition before generation
Hi,
I have created a methodAction bindings on a Page Data Binding Definition that
get cleared every time I run application generator.
In JHeadstart tutorial I found that there are two ways to preserve the graph binding that was added to the page definition
-to uncheck the checkbox "Clear page definition before generation"
-and to add the binding to the template.
#macro (CUSTOM_BINDING)
#end
${JHS.pageDefGenerator.addBinding($JHS.page,"<data collection>","#CUSTOM_BINDING()")}In my case I have item that has the type commandButton with no method-call. I changed the genetated jsff page and set the action of the button to managed bean method.
If I am thinking right I have to add the follow code:
#macro (CUSTOM_BINDING)
<methodAction id="f_url_porocila"
InstanceName="AppModuleDataControl.dataProvider"
DataControl="AppModuleDataControl" RequiresUpdateModel="true"
Action="invokeMethod" MethodName="f_url_porocila"
IsViewObjectMethod="false"
ReturnName="data.AppModuleDataControl.methodResults.f_url_porocila_AppModuleDataControl_dataProvider_f_url_porocila_result">
<NamedData NDName="p_sifra_porocila" NDType="java.lang.String"/>
<NamedData NDName="p_parametri" NDType="java.lang.String"/>
</methodAction>
#end
${JHS.pageDefGenerator.addBinding($JHS.page,"MetAplikativniModulView1","#CUSTOM_BINDING()")}Where "MetAplikativniModulView1" is the Data Collection of the Detail Group "AplikativniModul".
Is the <data collection> inside
${JHS.pageDefGenerator.addBinding($JHS.page,"<data collection>","#CUSTOM_BINDING()")}right?
I am looking for the vm template that i have to change so i can have the checkbox "Clear page definition before generation" checked.
Regards,

Reader XI, An Error Exists on this Page, Acrobat may not display
Hello,
I need some help please. The small business I work for as a contract employee uses Google Doc's, and we input our information into spreadsheets on a daily basis, from our home computers.
My home computer is XP Professional, and I am using Mozilla Firefox 36.0. I know we are using older computer programs, but until we can afford newer computers we have to use what we have.
Prior to today, when I printed off my spreadsheets in Google Doc's I had no problems, however tonight I just starting receiving this error message; An error exists on this page. Acrobat may not display the page correctly. Please contact the person who created the file.
I contacted my manager and had her send me a new spreadsheet, Invitation to Edit and input my information into the new spreadsheet.
I then go to my timesheet, and highlight all the rows that I would like to print, then I hit the print key, then I get the box that states, opening my timesheet which is a PDF which is an Adobe Acrobat Document, then I have this message, What should Firefox do with this file? I have it set to open with Adobe Reader (default) do this for files automatically like this.
The file downloads, however I have noticed that Adobe at times has a difficult time opening up right away and then I receive the error message that Adobe isn't responding and I end up closing the program out and restarting my computer.
This error message shows up just before the document begins to print and the document prints off with out any problems.
I even did a repair and that didn't help. My printer is a HP Color LaserJet 4500 and I've had no issues with Adobe prior to tonight.
Do I need to uninstall Adobe Reader & Re-install the program?
I can't send a copy of the file because it contains confidential material.
I've also posted this message on Adobe Acrobat, and have not received a response.
Please advise.
Thank you,Hello,
Thank you for responding. Sorry that my message is so confusing.
In Google Doc's we are able to highlight/selected portions of a PDF to print.
In Mozilla Fox under Applications, Portable Format Document (PDF) Use Adobe Reader (default).
So when I go to print off my timesheet, after I have highlighted everything, I get this message: I've chosen to open my timesheet which is: Adobe Acrobat Document from https//docs.google.com. What should Firefox do with this file? Open with Adobe Reader (default).
Do this automatically for files like this from now on. I click on the OK and the file downloads as a PDF file in Adobe Reader. On Google Doc's I click on the print key then I am able to open up my printer menu. Its after I click on the print key that I receive this message.
So what do I do please?
Thank you,

This is very confusing to me; Adobe Reader does not have such a functionality (to print highlighted/selected portions of a PDF). Could it be that this is a functionality of Google Docs? Also I have never seen a message "What should Firefox do with this file?". Error while creating place holder definition in Site Studio using Jdev,UCM
Hi,
I am Using UCM and Jdev 11g.
I was creating a website using Oracle® Fusion Middleware Developer's Guide for Site Studio for External Applications
11g Release 1 (11.1.1).
It worked fine till step 9 of 4.2 i.e i created till region template.
But as i was creating place holder definition, i was trying to add region definition.
This was the step where i got the error :
Unable to retrieve search results. Error occurred while retrying the search query. Error occurred while processing. Unable to return results.
Because of this i am not able to see any region definitions which i had created earlier. so i am not able to add any region definition to it.
Please help me resolve this.HI Srinath,

Error in using Custom Page Layout
Hi all,
I have created some customs page layouts, and they are working fine in the Portal (EP 6.0 SP2).
Now I have imported them to another Portal (same version than the first one), I made an EPA pakage with the PCD objects for the new page layouts and deployed the PAR file containing the the JSP for the new layouts into the Portal.
The result of this is the following:
- I am able to create a page and choose one of my customs layouts as a default layout.
- When in the page I try to select 'Edit > Page Layout' I get a 'Portal runtime error', and in the page logger I see the following exception (see it copied below):
Am I missing any step in the transport? I think no but maybe there is something else I have to do.
Thank you very much in advanced and regards
Stella

It was something wrong when transporting the page Layouts with an EPA package from one Portal to another. Some properties were lost.
What I've done is to recreate manually the page layouts PCD Objects. And all it's working OK -
When I try to execute any workflow I get the error "Something went wrong.."
Hello,
Last weekend I updated the servers farm and I executed "SharePoint 2013 products configuration wizard" But I had an error and the wizard showed this: Conpleted configuration settings will not be rolled back.
From this moment when I try to execute any workflow in one of my site collections I always get the error "something went wrong.." Then I was checking the logs and I saw this:

But I cannot find any solution.
Please Help!Hello,
After some troubleshooting finally I opened a case to Microsoft, finally we solved the error:
I cleared the configuration cache:
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/jamesway/archive/2011/05/23/sharepoint-2010-clearing-the-configuration-cache.aspx
With this I could execute the wizard without any problem and the problem was solved.
But if with this the problem is not fix, Apart from that, you can check this:
Apparently, Microsoft change the number version of the SP1, then if you have the first sp1 versión, you will have problems with the wizard because is looking for the newer version.
The first SP1 number version was:
15.0.4569.1506
The currently SP1 version is:
15.0.4571.1502
You can check your versión with this script:
http://blogs.technet.com/b/stefan_gossner/archive/2015/04/20/powershell-script-to-display-version-info-for-sharepoint-product-and-language-packs.aspx
Finally if you have the first version the solution is download SP1 again (newer) and install it again (it is not necessary unistall the currently SP1) When you finish, try to execute wizard again and everything will work fine.
Hope this helps! -
Hi,
We perform the e-signing on any PDF using our custom e-signature plug-in. Once that's done, when we try re-opening the PDF in Acrobat version 8.0.0.0, we get the following error:-
"An error exists on this page. Acrobat may not display the page correctly. Please contact the person who created the PDF document to correct the problem"
Please note that this error occurs intermittently and is NOT observed in Acrobat 7 or 9. Also, when a plain PDF is opened (i.e. a PDF without any signature on it) then there is NO error.
Could you let me know what could be the issue here? I read it in Acrobat 8.1.3 release notes that such an error was a known bug in version 8.0.0.0 (http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/407/kb407016.html), but I am not sure of its cause.
Let me know your comments/suggestions.
Thanks!I am getting the same error even in Acrobat version 8.1.3.
Additionally, I noticed that if we click on menu ‘Advanced->Sign&Certify->Preview Document’, then we get a notification as “This document is not PDF/SigQ compliant and may display inconsistently”. On clicking ‘View report’ on that notification, the below dialog pops up. It has errors listed as:-
Code 4000 : Unrecognized PDF content. The document contains PDF content or custom content not supported by the current version of Acrobat.
Code 4002: PDF content contains erros.
However, if we sign the PDF using default adobe signature functionality and reopen that PDF, the error does NOT come and the notification also says ‘This document is PDF/SigQ compliant’.
Can anybody please suggest what could be missing in the custom sign that we apply? Is it because of any of the missing fonts or any other resources?
Awaiting reply!

Wrong page numer (1) when the numer of printed page is 2 using group
I use crystal XI to print a document (facture) from a program.
When the number of printed lines (details) is the max number is possible to print , the number of page (PageNumber) is wrong because the printed page is 2 (the second page is only a line of notes inserted in a group section).
For the sotfware society of the program the problem is the printer driver but i have tested with more then one driver and the error is the same.
what's the problem?
Sorry! My english is not good.
Thank you.If the page number is in the page header, and the page header prints on each page, then I cant see what the problem is.
Perhaps it is a printer error. Try a different printer and see if it happens.
If a different printer is the same, try putting the page number in different areas of your report.
If still no change, create a new test report and see if it happens there. -
There are dozens of entries regarding "
List does not exist / The page you selected
contains a list that does not exist. It may have been deleted by another user" and none of them are really SP 2013 so i thought I would create this entry.
I am getting the error above after creating a simple list with 4 columns. the list is created during a new site definition activation but when I click on my list, I get the error above. the list works if I deactivate the feature and re-activate
it. but has the error whenever the new site definition is created.
Has anybody encountered this issue on SP 2013?Hi,
For your issue, there are plenty of possible reasons offered when we search this issue online.

Binding containe gets reset on button click ?
Hi All
In my page i am calling a method of AMIMpl class :
public void refreshEmpTable(){
String pRefresh = "Y";
requeryViewObjectWithBindVariable(getEmp(), "bRefresh", pRefresh);
and
private void requeryViewObjectWithBindVariable(ViewObjectImpl pViewObjectImpl,
String pVariableName,
String pVariableValue) {
ViewObjectImpl vo = pViewObjectImpl;
vo.setNamedWhereClauseParam(pVariableName, pVariableValue);
vo.executeQuery();
}And i can see the following log
<DebugDiagnostic> <print> [12497] DBG: afterActionPerformed :refreshEmpTable
<ADFLogger> <begin> Refreshing binding container
<DCBindingContainer> <internalRefreshControl> [12498] **** refreshControl() for BindingContainer :com_xyz_abc_ui_flow_om_omf_omf_prepareSessionSessionPageDef_WEB_INF_com_xyz_abc_ui_flow_om_om_xml_omf
prepareSession() - default method of the taskFlow
The button that triggers the refreshEmpTable() of impl class has partial submit as true. What i can see here is it is resetting the task flow. Can some some give a clue as to what i have done wrong here.
thnks,
