Error changing value of memory_target in 11g

I am getting this error:
SQL> alter system set memory_target=250M sid='m433d1';
alter system set memory_target=250M sid='m433d1'
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-02097: parameter cannot be modified because specified value is invalid
ORA-00846: could not shrink MEMORY_TARGET to specified value
Here are the current memory values:
m433d1.__db_cache_size=96468992 = 92M
m433d1.__java_pool_size=4194304 = 4M
m433d1.__large_pool_size=8388608 = 8M
m433d1.__shared_pool_size=184549376 = 176
pga = 108
SQL> show parameter pga_aggregate_target;

pga_aggregate_target big integer 12M
SQL> show parameter sga_target
NAME TYPE VALUE
sga_target big integer 200M
Why would I not be able to set to 250M, if the pga + sga = 212M? The individual componts of SGA + PGA = 284M. Therefore, it allows me to resize to resize with 275M, but not 272M:
SQL> alter system set memory_target=275M sid='m433d1';

SQL> alter system set memory_target=272M sid='m433d1';
alter system set memory_target=272M sid='m433d1'

I understand that these values were set explicitly.
You can see the values of db_cache_size and shared_pool itself totals to 268M
Since these values are set explicitly, then you cannot give the value for memory_target to a lower value.
OR
set all other component values to 0 and set memory_target.

I am facing oracle error for few SELECT queries in 11g which were working fine in 10g environment.
Oracle Version:
10g - 10.2.0.5.0
11g - 11.2.0.3.0
We are storing numeric values under CHAR or VARCHAR2 column in few tables. This is known design issue & it can't be changed for now.
I know this will work fine until all the data is numeric in those columns for respective table. Because by some reason, if any row got character value for that column then implicit string to number conversion will fail and this error can occur. But I have verified that there is no data issue.
But I can see difference in the execution plan! But not able to recognize the reason issue.
Any other pointers on why the queries are failing in 11g would be of great help..

The problem doesn't appear to be related to the Oracle version, at least not directly. If your query plan does the string to number conversion before eliminating the rows that have non-numeric data, you'll get an error. If the query plan eliminates the rows that have non-numeric data before doing the conversion, the query will succeed. It is entirely possible that you'd get the "bad" plan in 10g or the "good" plan in 11g.
You can capture the query plans from your 10g database and move them over to the 11g database. Oracle has a nice white paper on upgrading from 10g to 11g that walks you through that process.
Of course, you really don't want to be dependent on the optimizer picking the "right" plan, you really want to fix the underlying data model issue.

REP-1425 report formula DO_SQL error putting value into column

Hi all
I have opened a report 2.5 in Oracle9i Reports Developer and, it converted ok. However, when I run the report (paper layout), the message
rep-1425 report formula DO_SQL error putting value
into column. Column may not be referenced by parameter
triggers
appears. There are several report level formula columns and corresponding placeholder columns that are the cause of this error. The formula has the following :

I can't work out what this error message really means as the column, report_tit is a placeholder column and, the formula column is not a parameter trigger!! The report_tit placeholder is used as a source for a layout field. I noticed that the layout field is defined as a placeholder column in the converted report but in the reports 2.5 version, it is defined as a layout field.
I can do a work around by replacing the SRW.DO_SQL statement with a normal PL/SQL SELECT statement. However, I wonder if anyone else has had the same problem and, if anyone can help provide an answer as to what this error really means and, also, how I can retain the SRW.DO_SQL statement and/or an alternative work around to the one that I have described.

The firewall proved to be the problem after all! The firewall set in Reports config-files is not used for WebServices, it has to be set within the stub:

I inserted this in my java-code and after some problems (see below), restarting Report Builder turned the trick, the report works now.

Client-error-request-value-too-long

What is this error???? I am trying to add an Epson 1280 printer and I get this error. I have the most current driver and not sure why this isn't working.

My flatmate had this "client-error-request-value-too-long" problem with her (powerpc) powerbook. Nearly everything I tried didn't work:
1) Reinstalling drivers
2) Permissions repair
3) Resetting print system using Fixamac's Printer Setup Repair Utility
4) Updating from 10.4.10 to 10.4.11
5) Using the command line to try and recreate the directory: /var/spool/cups/tmp (which told me it already existed)
6) Using Transmit (with show invisible files turned on) to browse to /var/spool/cups/ and try and recreate the tmp folder
On the last point I couldn't change anything about the /var/spool/cups/ directory because the permissions were corrupted in some way. It keep telling me tmp already existed but I couldn't see it.
In the end what did work was enabling and logging in as root, browsing to /var/spool/ using Transmit and deleting the cups folder and then recreating. It took a few tries to delete too, but in the end I managed to remove it.
Of course I wouldn't actually recommend this. I'm no Unix geek so god knows what I might have broken in the process, so I'm going to reinstall her system with the Archive and Install options when I get a chance, which is what I'd recommend doing in the first place to anyone having this problem.

Hi Satish,
Have you tried defining the new value as an integer instead of a string? The GroupNum data type in the OCTG is Int, not character.

With the transaction entered, the balance for the transactions in group 10 in area 01 will be negative in this fiscal year. However, the balance of transaction type group 10, according to its definition, must be positive in each fiscal year.
System Response
The system rejects this posting.
Procedure
Check the transaction type, the amount and the fiscal year in your posting. If you want to post a credit memo to an acquisition from the previous year, then use a transaction type for a retirement. If necessary, you can change balance rules after talking with your SAP consultant.
Please help me for the above issue.

KP26 Change Values - Add Values demanding an integer?

I am not an FICO consultant so please be patient with me if I am missing the obvious but I can't see why KP26 is working the way it is. When I go into 'Change Values' and use 'add value', I get the error message "Enter the number in a valid format (0 decimal places)" if I use a non integer value (e.g. 1.25). Furthermore when I do put in an interger the price is update by that amount; e.g. if I put in 1, my price (fixed) becomes 11.50 from a starting value of 10.50, but it also appears in the Plan Activity, Capacity & Variable Price columns?
When I use the Revaluate option, the it works as expected and only the price (fixed) column is updated.
I am using planning layout 1-201.
Any help much appreciated.

When you are selecting the items to change are you selecting the entire line or just the specific fields you want to change? I suspect you are selecting the entire line. If that's the case, the system is trying to add the amount to all key fields selected, which includes the equivalence field. The equivalence field can only hold integers, so you get the error message.
If you want to add an amount just to your prices, then select the column or individual cell and then add the change amount to that field only.

BDC error-- INPUT VALUE IS LONGER THAN SCREEN FIELD

Hi all,
         I wrote BDC for VA01. Here I need to pass condition amount to the BDC SCreen ( field name : KOMV-KBETR). When i run the BDC, it is throwing error -- ' INPUT VALUE IS LONGER THAN SCREEN FIELD '.
Then I passed the amount value manually to the BDC screen field. Still it is not working.
    DATA : v_kbetr1 TYPE komv-kbetr.
    MOVE itab-kbetr1 TO v_kbetr1.
   PERFORM bdc_field       USING 'KOMV-KBETR(08)'
                                  v_kbetr1.
Please look into this issue.

have you seen the code automatically generated after recording in SHDB. You may notice that all the variable will be declared of character type. That is to avoid these kind of problems.
Change the declaration as character type of length 14. it should work.

Amount Conversion File error using VALUE keyword in BPC 7.5M

Hi Experts,
We just migrate from BPC 7.0M to BPC 7.5M. We also change the server to multi-server arquitecture 64-bit (Application server and BD Server).
When we try to Import or Validate Transformation File with Amount conversion file using VALUE keyword, the system returns: "Error: Validate with data file failed". The content of conversion file columns:
EXTERNAL= *
INTERNAL= *
FORMULA = VALUE*0.001
At first, we thogut that was a problem with 0.001 but we tried diferent formulas with the same error:
FORMULA = VALUE*1
FORMULA = VALUE*2
FORMULA = 0.001*VALUE
We also tried to use VALUE keyword with case sensitive and the result was the same. And when we don't use VALUE keyword the validation is OK.

The conversion file AMOUNT_TEST.XLS has only one line. With this conversion we want to change value from u20AC to Ku20AC.
You should think that we used these transformation and conversion files in BPC 7.0M and it works fine.
I'd like to remember that if we don't use AMOUNT_TEST.XLS or delete VALUE keyword, these transformation file works fine too.
nilanjan, I tried to validate data file with one record and the system show me the same error.
Roberto, our first migration was from BPC 7.0M to BPC 7.5M SP3, but we didn't test it. Then we apply SP7 because to solve other issues, and when we try to validate data load we detect that issue.

Change value of a typedef in parallels to another running action

Hello,
Well, I have a problem with my VI.
To summarize I use a Vi « IdsVg.vi » to achieve some measurements process.
This one uses an action engine as a sub-vi to store data of the front panel and to precede complementary actions. The front panel is a strict typedef…
I programmed the Vi avoiding to use sequence structures in order to be able to do other actions on the front panel in parallels. Nevertheless I’m running out of ideas for solving my problem.
The problem:
I would like to change values (time constant, Boolean of graph) of the front panel at any instant when the main vi is running. The actual problem is: when I start the program, using register event I can change values of the front panel, but when the program is running the while loop in which it gets the measurement, it isn’t possible to change parameter of the front panel…
Is there a solution or a trick??

Putting in the project file does not help much, good try though. The actual files are missing though, so nothing shows up.
I suggest you create a separate producer consumer loop in your main vi. The vi retrieving the data could pass the relevant data (producer) and the consumer loop will then process the data and update the fron tpannel. Note, only the producer consumer loop will update the front pannel.
You would not need a sequence structure to control the update. The producer consumer loop will only execute when you provide the necessary data.

Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 domain join displays error "Changing the Primary Domain DNS name of this computer to "" failed...."
DC:windows Server 2008 R2
Domain functional level:Windows Server 2003
When Winxp join domain, have no this error message.
I checked http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2018583?wa=wsignin1.0 does't work.
There have 3 suggestion in this article:
1.The "Disable NetBIOS over TCP/IP" checkbox has been disabled in the IPv4 properties of the computer being joined.
Doesnt's work.
2.Connectivity over UDP port 137 is blocked between client and the helper DC servicing the join operation in the target domain.
On my DC, I run netstat -an, reslut as below:
UDP 192.168.20.3:137 *:*
3.The TCP/IPv4 protocol has been disabled so that the client being joined or the DC in the destination domain targeted by the LDAP BIND is running TCP/IPv6 only.
We are not using IPV6.
This server recently updated from Windows Server 2003 to Windows Server 2008 R2. Before upgrade, when Win7 and Win2008 join this domain, also have the same error message.
Please help to check this issue.

Hi Guo Ying,
I have faced this critical error which makes over-writes the host names in the domain when you join.
For example: Already you had a host name called as PC.domain.com in the domain.com Domain.
When you try to add the another host name called as PC in the domain.com Domain, it doesn't give you the duplicate name error on the network it does over-write the existing host name called as PC.domain.com & it will add the new host name into the domain.
Host name which got over-written will get removed from the domain. I faced this issue in my project. My DPM host name got removed from the Domain & new host name got joined into the domain which halted my backups for one day.
Final Resolution is as follows:
You need to start the dns console on the DC & drop down the domain name.
Select the _msdcs when you click on _msdcs it will show the Name Server's list on the right hand side.
You need to add the Domain Naming Master under the _msdcs or add all the domain controllers which you had.
After you add the Name server's try joining the PC OR Laptop to the domain which is successfully joins it.

Getting change values from a collection

Title says it all. I have a collection connected to a
datagrid and have a simple form that allows me to add/modify/delete
entries from the collection. Now I want to send the changes to the
collection back to the server. How do I read/parse the collection
for these changes? Examples would be helpful. Below is what I have
so far to examine the collection (found elsewhere) how do I extract
the name/value pairs that have changed?

ArrayCollection supports the length property, so you can
simply iterate over it with a for loop and use the bracket notation
to return each item. Build the structure you want to sent, then
away you go.
If you are wanting to only select changed values, you will
have to track this yourself.
