Error in Creating a Chart Web Part Connected to a List-Column named "" already belongs to this DataTable

Hi,
I am trying to create a Chart Web Part that is connected to a list.
I inserted a Chart Web Part on the page.
In Step 1, I chose, Connect to a List.
In Step 2, I chose the List, "QPAPForm"
After I connect to the list (QPAPForm), and I get to step 3 to Retrieve and Filter Data, I have the following error message:  "Please correct the following: A column named "Update Policy Tasks" already belongs to this Data Table.
"Update Policy Tasks" is a Workflow used on this list (QPAPForm), but it is not a column value per se.
How do I correct this issue?
Thanks,
Jan

Hi,
I have done a test, and I can’t reproduce your issue.
I created a custom list and an approval workflow which generated an column in the custom list. Then created a Chart Web Part which was connected to the custom list, I didn’t meet any error.
Let’s verify the following:
What template is your List template? what columns does the list has?
What kind of workflow has generated the “Update Policy Tasks” column?
I suggest you re-create the list without workflow and do a test, compare the results.
Best Regards
Lisa Chen

  • Save as template kill the web part connection

    Hi,
    I have a Sharepoint web site and I would like to save it as a template in order to create several site with the same structure and the same web pages.
    On some of my web part pages I have some webpart connected to each other (mostly BDC List web part and BDC related list web part). When I save the site as a template and create a new site based on this template most of the connection are not present in the
    new site. Does anyone know what is the problem and how to solve it? I really need this to work as the site template will contains tens of pages with those connection and we will have to create tens of site with that template so manually recreating the connection
    is not possible.
    Thank you for your help.

    No web part connections are managed by sharepoint and are stored on the page on which the connected web part are as I know.
    Any way I managed to find a solution. I deleted all the web part connections (Open sharepoint designer and deleted all the SPWebPartConnection tags.) and then I recreated all the connections within the browser.  I don't know why but now it works.
    The mysteries of SharePoint are endless.

  • SP2010: Different colors for chart bars in Chart Web part with single data series?

    Hello,
    I've been asked to create a chart for visual display and summary of Status values within a SharePoint list of job positions. The list of positions includes a Status field with the only values being Open and Closed. I created a page that shows the list, and
    at the top I inserted a Chart Web part that displays two bars - one showing the number of Open positions and one showing the Closed positions. Because I was having difficulty getting the totals for each Status value to show up in the chart, I followed
    the instructions at
    http://highbrowse.wordpress.com/2012/07/04/chart-counts-from-sharepoint-lists/ and pointed my chart at the new "Status values" list - this worked well to display the sum counts for each of the two Status values in separate bars.
    This was all fine and good, except that because I am only using one data series for my chart, both of the bars (for Open and Closed) show up as the same color. I've been asked to make them different colors but cannot figure out how to do so. Can someone
    provide guidance on how I could make the two bars different colors? Thank you so much.
    cheers

    Hello,
    as far as I know, the chart web part does not have any settings to change the color of individual data points or plot data points of a series in different colors. If you only have two values in the series, you could use a pie chart instead of the column
    or bar chart. In a pie chart, the different slices have different colors.
    cheers, teylyn

  • Issue while creating a new web part page (Safeunit.aspx) within a folder located under a Document Library.

    Hi, I am facing an issue while creating a new web part page (Safeunit.aspx) within a folder (Safematic Seal Support Systems) located under a Document Library (Product Information Documents).
    The path I am explaining:
    Going to the Document Library (Product Information Documents) --> now inside that, clicking on a folder (Wet Seal Support
    Systems) --> now inside the folder clicking on another sub-folder (Safematic Seal Support Systems) --> Here I want the web page Safeunit.aspx
    Issue is that when I reach to the required destination, and want to create the web page by clicking on 'Site Action' --> 'Create' --> 'Web Part Page', now while selecting the Document Library name from the drop-down list, I do use 'Product
    Information Documents' since the folder is inside this library only; but that create the page directly under the 'Product Information Documents' library, not under the sub-folder (Safematic Seal
    Support Systems).
    FYI, it is SP2007 version.
    Kindly assist in this. Thanks in advance.

    I see that you have the namespaces reference in your code.
    I think you have changed the NameSpace name of your code to CreateSPFolder, change the reference in all your manifest, and other files to point to the current namespace name. It should help.
    Hope this helps!

    Hi  Rajni,
    Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel assembly provides class to read excel file data, in your web part solution, reference the assembly, and following blog contains samples about how to read the excel file data,
    and import it to SQL  database.

  • Chart web part - lookup columns corrupted

    Hello,
    I am using the chart web part, and if I reference the lookup column, which is last names, it posts both the last names and the number, such as:
    42; #LASTNAME
    How do I not have it display that number, semicolon and #?
    Thanks,

    Lookup field contains both title and ID, and to get title only, you need to use Look
    var lookupItemValue = new SPFieldLookupValue(item["lookupfield"].ToString());
    value = lookupItemValue.LookupValue;
    or you can use substring function to fetch value after semicolon (;)

    Hi,
    Are you using proxy server? if yes you have to configure it, or it is problem with your provider.xml file. Can you past the code from provider.xml related to proxy setting?
    I have resolved this issue by follow following technique, Look this code from provider.xml
    <proxyInfo class="oracle.portal.provider.v2.ProxyInformation">
    <!-- <httpProxyHost></httpProxyHost>
    <httpProxyPort></httpProxyPort>
    <dontProxyFor>*.mycompany.com</dontProxyFor> -->

    <proxyType></proxyType>
    <proxyRealm></proxyRealm>
    <proxyUseGlobal></proxyUseGlobal>
    <proxyUser></proxyUser>
    </proxyInfo>
    commented first three tags and removed value from remaining tags.
    Just try with that, Hope this will solve your problem

  • Issue with web part connections : won't display data when the lookup field is a calculated field

    Hello,
    I have a list A with a calculated field named A.A. I have a list B that has a lookup field to list A, to field A.A, named B.A. I add the two lists in a wiki page and I try to connect them - I.E., select a row from A and the rows from B would be automatically
    filtered.
    The B\Connections\get filtered values from A and select Provider:A.A, Consumer B.A doesn't bring any results. If I do the exact opposite: A\Connections\get filtered values from B and select Provider:B.A, Consumer A.A  works fine. But, this is not what
    I want.
    If the A.A isn't calculated field, everything works fine. So, it looks like there's an issue with calculated fields acting as consumers.
    Is this a known issue and are there any know workarounds? A workaround is to abandon calculated field and  use sharepoint designer workflow.
    Thank you
    Christos

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you had issues about connecting web parts.
    I try to reproduce the issue, however, everything works well.
    Create a custom list named List A, add a caculated column named A.A(Formula: =Title).
    Create a custom list named List B, add a lookup column named B.A(List A: A.A).
    Create a page and then insert the two list view web parts.
    Edit page, select List B->Connections->Get Filtered Values From List A.
    Then I can filter the List B.
    I recommend to create another caculated column and get filter value form it to check whether it works.

  • "Unable to log URL" error when importing WSDL into Web Service connection

    Hello Experts
    I'm using Xcelsius Engage and I'd like to use Web Service connection.
    I've developed my own Web service (that is using 2 other web service inside it).
    and now I'm trying to import it into the Xcelsius (connection --> Web service connection).
    And I get the follwoing error:
    "Unable to log URL"
    When I browse to my wsdl file in IE the file is loaded with no problem.
    When trying to import other URLs it also works fine (for example: http://www.xignite.com/xFinancials.asmx?wsdl)
    Any idea?

    Thanks a lot!!!
    Indeed the solution was in the follwoing thread:

    Parsing the query result fixed the problem.
    For others who might have the same problem:
    Here's a working web service (C# code, for vb code follow the link to the thread above):

        public struct QueryResult
          public string SlpName;
          public string Commission;

          SqlConnection connection = new SqlConnection("Data Source=(local);Integrated Security=SSPI;Initial Catalog=SBODemoUS");
          SqlDataAdapter adapter = new SqlDataAdapter(
            "SELECT SlpName, Commission FROM OSLP", connection);
          DataTable DT_QryResult = new DataTable();
          adapter.Fill(DT_QryResult);
          connection.Close();
          // Parse data to be forward to Xcelsius
          QueryResult[] QryRes = null;
          QryRes = new QueryResult[DT_QryResult.Rows.Count];
          int i=0;

  • Getting error while creating a new web app saying "The password supplied with the username domainname\username was not correct. Verify that it was entered correctly and try again"

    Hi ,
    I am trying to create a new web app using Central Administration in Sharepoint 2010 and getting an error "The password supplied with the username  was not correct. Verify that it was entered correctly and try again".
    I tried running this command also "stsadm -o updatefarmcredentials -userlogin <domain\username> -password <newpassword>" but when it got executed it showed me "Access Denied".
    What should i do ??
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards, Anurag

    HI,
    right click on command icon and click run as administrator then use above stsadm commend to update credential. If still you face same issue then try with powershell as mention in below link: (make sure that you open sharepoint powershell as run as administrator)
