Error in "Download a pdf" question
Sorry. In haste my question said "download". I can download pdfs OK. It is when I try to COPY to Desktop that the refusal occurs because of space. I have 200G space on C:\. Please advise.
Can you copy other items to the desktop?
Can you just put a shortcut to the desktop?
Assuming you are on Windows, what version?
And what is the exact error message you are getting?

Getting Error When downloading Adobe PDF Reader
Screenshot of the error is below. I've tried every fix in the book and have had this error for months. Most frustrating part is that It's cutting into my work and Adobe has no customer service, so no direct help on that end.
I am looking to see if anyone had a proven solution to this. Thank you.This is one of the install problems I have never seen a real solution. It somehow has to do with the Microsoft .NET Framework.
What is your Windows version? What are your installed .NET Framework versions?
What I would try if I encountered that problem is to run the MSI installer http://ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/11.x/11.0.00/en_US/AdbeRdr11000_en_US.msi (English version 11.0.0), then update to
11.0.10 (Windows 7, Vista)

Are these all the same OS, browser, and Acrobat version (including the updates)? It might help to tell use what versions of each you are using. Can you save the file and open it in Acrobat? Do you have both Acrobat and Reader installed?

I am running firefox on a 4-year-old macbook. When I want to close the firefox application, for example when I am shutting down the computer, it hangs, will not quit. Sometimes I get a prompt about continuing a script and after I click on that, then it closes. Often, however, I have to do a force quit ("firefox not responding").
I am going to be setting up soon on a new macbook.
My firefox has been elaborated with several add-ons, including read it later and a couple of feed add-ons. I have an elaborate bookmark and tab group setup. Will it be possible to migrate all of that to the new computer.
Will my having a fresh new computer resolve the problem with getting the application to close? Or should I be concerned about importing the problem along with the application?
The other question concerns downloading of PDF files that are linked at medical journal websites, where I have permission for download of articles. I can do this in safari. But the process is not working in firefox. The blank window comes up like I am going to get a download prompt, but then that does not happen.I did that :
Open Terminal
1 - wget http://rpms.famillecollet.com/remi-release-8.rpm
2 - sudo rpm -Uvh remi-release-8.rpm
3 - sudo mousepad /etc/yum.repos.d/remi.repo
Make sur that in remi section enabled value = 1 and in test section enabled value= 0
4 - sudo rpm -e --nodeps firefox
5 - sudo yum install firefox

Just installed Outlook 365. Now getting an error message downloading pdf's from outlook re: licensing on my acrobat 9 standard. 148:3
OFFICE 365 is a cloud version of OFFICE 2013. Full compatibility with Acrobat requires an updated Acrobat XI. You will likely have to store the file and then open in AA 9. To create a PDF you will have to print to the Adobe PDF printer or use the MS plugin that has several issues.

Get a Download Error whenever I try to download a PDF with iMac OS X 10.6
When I click to download a PDF with my iMac running 10.6 and Adobe reader 10.0.2 I get the message "/Users/brian/Downloads/Aperture_3_User_Manual.pdf could not be opened, because an unknown error occurred.
Try saving to disk first and then opening the file."files download fine with SafariUpdate: Am now running FF7. Since original problem I switched to using Preview instead of Adobe Reader but that did NOT solve the problem. That seems to indicate FF may be the problem. I inadvertently circumvented the problem by installing PDF Download 3.0.0.2 just to check it out. This is a great Add-on! You can preview a PDF before downloading - which is a standard feature in Safari. I have not had the "Download error" problem since installing the add-on.

Fresh install of Acrobat 8 Pro.

Windows message:

I used to Always choose OPEN for pdfs. I could choose to save later if I decided to keep the file. Is this a change that Adobe made? A browser plug-in, maybe?
I really dont want to save EVERYTHING, and have to remember to drag it to the recycle bin later.

Safari 3 quits as soon as I download a .pdf file
I've just downloaded the Beta of Safari 3, running on my 12" Powerbook (10.4.10, 1.25Gb RAM, 1.5GHz processor). Now, whenever I try to download a .pdf file from any site, the browser crashes without warning or error message.
Three questions:
1. Anyone else having the same problem?
2. Anyone got an answer to it?
and, assuming the answer to (2) is 'no',
3. How do I re-install the latest version of Safari before the Beta 3?

I want to download .pdf file (just like we download eg. .txt file using FM 'GUI_DOWNLOAD', I have to download a .pdf file). I tried with the same FM, but whenever I am trying to open the file, it's giving error. Anybody any idea? Is it possible to download to .pdf simply using GUI_DOWNLOAD?
If yes, any special parameter needs to be passed?

Hi, all. I hope this is not a stupid question, but can someone please help with downloading/opening .pdf files?
I am running Adobe Acrobat XI Pro, latest version (no updates available) on a Windows 8.1 platform. When I attempt to download a .pdf file (ANY .pdf file!), my system gives me this error message -
"Adobe Acrobat does not support Internet Explorer's 64-bit mode. Either install the latest version of Adobe Reader, or disable 64-bit mode in Internet Explorer"
I find this baffling. If I could find a later version of Reader than what I have, I would like to try it - but, Adobe updates tells me I have the latest version of Reader. Also, as above, I have the latest version of Acrobat - if Reader could support 64-bit, surely Acrobat XI Pro could?

In any case, is it possible that you're running Reader X, and have the latest updates of that? If so, please consider downloading Reader XI, and make sure you're running version 11.0.07.
