JSP error in Oracle with bean?
I use the next jsp tag:
<jsp:setProperty name="form" property="categories" parameter="check_orders" />
But Jdeveloper 9031 (build 1107) doesn't support parameter as a valid atrribute for this tag.
Only name, property, value is that true?I think you mean "param" not "parameter".
Check out the JSP.4.2 section of the spec where it details the exact usage of JSP:Setproperty -

Using stored procedures with a timestamp parameter with Delphi and ADO
Dear Oracle experts,
I have a problem concerning using a stored procedure with Delphi.
I try to use a stored procedure which hast two input parameters ( a integer and a timestamp).
The timestamp parameter is my problem since I would like to use the "to_timestamp"
Oracle-function to create the timestamp parameter to be inserted into my procedure.
If I insert the to_timestamp statement as a adodatetime I have to perform the conversion to the oracle timestamp in my application.
If I want to use the to_timestamp statement I have to use the ftstring datatype but in that case I get an error because I use a string as input for my procedure were it awaits a timestamp.
So the problem seems to be that the function call "to_timestamp" is not interpreted if it is transferred through my ADO component.
Do you know how to use a procedure with Delphi (ADO) with a function as input parameter ?
Best regards,
Daniel Wetzler
P.S. :
This is the Delphi code to use my Procedure.
FactsTempDS:=TADODataset.Create(nil);
Sproc1 := TAdoStoredProc.Create(nil);
Sproc1.Connection := TDBConnection(strlistConnectionstrings.objects[iConnectionIndex]).Connection;
Sproc1.ProcedureName := 'ECSPACKAGE.PROCFINDINITIALSWITCHSTATE';
Sproc1.Parameters.CreateParameter ('SwitchID',ftInteger,pdinput,0,0);
//Sproc1.Parameters.CreateParameter ('StartTime',ftdatetime,pdinput,50,0);
Sproc1.Parameters.CreateParameter ('StartTime',ftString,pdinput,50,0);
Sproc1.Parameters.Findparam('SwitchID').value:=SwitchID;
Sproc1.Parameters.FindParam('StartTime').Value:= 'to_timestamp(''2005/12/30 19:36:21'', ''YYYY/MM/DD HH:MI:SS'')';
Sproc1.CursorType := ctKeyset;
Sproc1.ExecuteOptions:=[];
Sproc1.Open;
Sproc1.Connection := nil;
FactsTempDS.Recordset:= sproc1.Recordset;
if FactsTempDS.RecordCount=0
then raise Exception.Create('No line switch variable found for switch '+IntToStr(SwitchID)+' before starttime. Check BDE dump filter.')I have my entity manager setup in a singleton.
I'm finding it's costly to generate the emf, but if I don't close the em (enitity manager) and emf (entity manager factory) my open cursor count climbs until I exceed the max number of open cursors on the database (11g RAC)
I'm committing the connection, and uow, and closing the em at the end of each call.
But until I close the emf, the open cursors aren't released.
TransactionhistoryPkg tranPkg = new TransactionhistoryPkg(conn); //Class created over database package via JPublisher
tranPkg.transactionhistoryInsSp(insertTrans.getCardId()); // executes db package
tranPkg.closeConnection();
conn.commit();
uow.commit();
uow.getAccessor().decrementCallCount();
em.close();
Am I missing something really obvious here??
btw - I found this link helpful in troubleshooting the max cursors issue: https://support.bea.com/application_content/product_portlets/support_patterns/wls/InvestigatingORA-1000MaximumOpenCursorsExceededPattern.html -
Synchronizing Oracle with Interbase
Hello Forum,
does anyone made any expieriences with synchronization of Oracle and Interbase databases? How does it work? Are there any tools for synchronizing? Are there any problems?
We want to use Interbase as a remote small footprint database (requirements: deployable on CD-ROM, M$ Windows envrionment, easy instalation without administrator rights, interaction with an delphi-application) and synchronize it than with a centrally located Oracle database.
All in all: is it feasible to do that with Interbase?
Thank you & kind regards,

Error in access with Essbase Studio Console
We get error to connect with Essbase Studio Console.
"children for Root. Reason: Unknown package name 'drillthrough'.Line = 1."
It is a new installation.
EPM 11.1.2.2Hi,
During the installation of Essbase Studio only, ess_es_server.jar and ess_japi.jar are missing. If you install both Essbase and Studio, they are not missing.
This is due to unpublished bug 14232814 - DURING THE INSTALLATION ONLY STUDIO SOME .JAR FILES NOT INSTALLED
Try the following:
Stop Essbase Studio
copy files into EPMSystem11R1\common\EssbaseJavaAPI\11.1.2.0\lib
ess_es_server.jar
ess_japi.jar
If folder does not exist create it.
1. Stop essbase Studio.
2. Drop tables from relational database
3. Recreate tables.
4. Start Essbase Studio.

Error in WebDynpro with WebServices
Hi all,
Im getting some errors using applications deployed in WEB AS SP9 that runs as a WebDynpro IView in EP.
Running the application as standalone (out of EP) this works fine.
NetWeaver Developer Studio 2.0.9
WebDynpro application using WebServices that access Oracle 8i database in the follow sequence:
WebServices -> Session Bean stateless -> Entity Bean CMP (manage connections; generate sql code, etc.)
In WebDynpro application we import WebService Model by the follow sequence:
New Model - Import Web Service Model - Local Server for WSDL Source - <WebService deployed>
In each WebServices we have created these methods:
findByID(ID);
getAll();
insert(parameters);
remove(ID);
update(parameters);
We guess that the error is generated in Entity Bean because all WebServices generate these errors.

Translating SQL from MYSQL to ORACLE with more than one outer join.
I will translate the following sqlquery from MYSQL to ORACLE:
SELECT ticket.ticket_no,ticket.ticket_dato,ticket.ticket_subject,ticket.customer_id,customer_name,ticket.ticket_own_read, ticket.department_id, department.department_name, priority_name, tickstat_name, tickettype_name
FROM customer, ticket left join department
on ticket.department_id = department.department_id left join priority on ticket.priority_id = priority.priority_id
left join ticketstatus on ticket.tickstat_id = ticketstatus.tickstat_id
left join tickettype on ticket.tickettype_id = tickettype.tickettype_id
where ticket.customer_id = customer.customer_id and customer.owner_id =
#session.owner_id#
I have tried in ORACLE with:
SELECT ticket.ticket_no,ticket.ticket_dato,ticket.ticket_subject,ticket.customer_id,customer_name,ticket.ticket_own_read, ticket.department_id, department.department_name, priority_name, tickstat_name, tickettype_name
FROM customer, ticket ,department, priority, ticketstatus, tickettype
where
ticket.department_id(+) = department.department_id and
ticket.priority_id(+) = priority.priority_id and
ticket.tickstat_id(+) = ticketstatus.tickstat_id and
ticket.tickettype_id(+) = tickettype.tickettype_id and
ticket.customer_id = customer.customer_id and customer.owner_id = #session.owner_id#
I get an error:
MERANT][ODBC Oracle driver][Oracle]ORA-01417: a table may be outer joined to at most one other table
How do I translate the code to ORACLE?I think that your syntax is wrong. The (+) operator should be on the right hand table column, not the left hand table column if you want all rows on the left hand table column. If this syntax is really what you want, you can create underlying views for each join condiction.

Re: BUG? APEX 4.0: ORA-20503 error editing report with 400+ columns
Hello Everyone.
I've run into something quite strange and am hoping you can help me.
I am using Apex 4.0.1 and Oracle version 10.2.0.5. I've created a "classical" report in which the underlying SQL is a very simple:
select * from pvtabThe Oracle table pvtab consists of 419 columns, all of which are varchar2(88) and number type. That's it.
When I run the report, al of the columns show up as expected.
However, when I go into the "Report Attributes" tab and click on one of the fields (any of them, it doesn't matter which one), I immediately get the following error:
ORA-20503: Current version of data in database has changed since user initiated update process. current checksum = "598CAA7B68746A66F4B99E1512C36DED" application checksum = "0"If if replace the "*" with a few actual column names, then I am able to access any of these columns without problem.
If I put back the "*", I then encounter this error again.
I have never seen this error with other SQL SELECT statements in which I use the "*" qualifier to retrieve all columns from the table.
And so, I am wondering if the error is caused because of the large number of columns (419) in my table.
I've seen this same error mentioned in connection with forms but never with a report.
So, is there some limit to the number of columns one can have in a "classic" or interactive report?
Any idea why I would be getting this error?
Here is the DDL for my table pvtab:

Edited by: EEG on Jun 12, 2011 2:09 PMSo, is there some limit to the number of columns one can have in a "classic" or interactive report?Yes. See Oracle® Application Express Application Builder User's Guide Release 4.0, Appendix B: Oracle Application Express Limits.
Any idea why I would be getting this error?No, but I've replicated it in APEX 4.0.2.00.07 on 11.2.0.1.0 EE using a table of 420 <tt>varchar2(88)</tt> columns:
>
ORA-20503: Current version of data in database has changed since user initiated update process. current checksum = "50C9BDC0AA1AEF0EB272E9158B2117B4" application checksum = "0"
>
Happens whether using <tt>select *</tt> or including all column names in the query. (I know you don't want to type all the column names, but I'd never use <tt>select *</tt> in a production application: always use a proper column list. You can get one without typing by drag-and-drop of a table in most IDEs, or a query from <tt>user_tab_columns</tt>.)
I hit the problem at 274 columns. Such an arbitrary number leads me to think that the problem is not one of the number of columns per se, but is due to some other limit (possibly a 32K VARCHAR2/RAW buffer somewhere).
Workaround:
Updates to the report column attributes are actually being saved, and you can navigate them using the Page Definition tree view as described in Appendix B.
Getting More Help:
This is probably a bug. If you have a support agreement with Oracle raise an SR with Oracle Support.
Also:
<li>Search the forum using the "ORA-20503" code and other possible terms to see if there's anything relevant. I had a quick look but the only thread in this context recommended an upgrade on an Oracle 9 DB version that's not compatible with APEX 4.0.
<li>To get the attention of the Oracle APEX team or anyone else who may know more about this problem than we do, edit your original post and change the Subject to be more specific about the actual nature of the problem: <em>BUG? APEX 4.0: ORA-20503 error editing report with 400+ columns</em>, and include your database version/edition and the definition of the <tt>PVTAB</tt> table.
Finally:
Somebody's bound to ask, so we might as well get started:
<li>Why so many columns?
<li>What requirement is this trying to fulfil? -
Compiling error ORA-00600 with Forms 6 and Database 10g
Hi,
I am using "Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.1.0.4.0" and "Forms [32 Bit] Version 6.0.8.26.0 " with patch 17, when i compile a form that works with some tables in another database under dblink the error ORA-00600:internal error code, arguments:[16203],[],[],[],[],[],[],[] is displayed.
If i word with reports or sqlplus no error is displayed.
Before we installed 10g everything worked ok
What is wrong with forms or do i need to configure something else?

Is there a tool to troubleshoot ORA-00600 and ORA-07445 errors?
February 27th, 2006 By Fahd Mirza
ORA-00600 and ORA-07445 errors are the most esoteric errors in Oracle.
There is a tool called ORA-600/ORA-7445 Troubleshooter available at Metalink. It asks for the first argument of ORA-600 error with an optional database version number.
For example, to see the description of the error:
ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [723], [25908], [25908], [memory leak]
You enter 723 in the ORA-600 First Argument field. The first argument is a pointer to where in the code the error was caught and thus is the key information in identifying the problem.
You can also embed (copy/paste) the Call Stack Trace there, and, when you click on the Search Call Stack button an advanced MetaLink search is performed to find documents containing relevant sections from the call stack.
Call Stack extracts from the following files are supported:
* Generic foreground and background server trace files located in background_dump_dest and user_dump_dest
* OpenVMS NETV2 and BEQ log files located in ORA_ROOT:[NETWORK.LOG]
* WINDOWS CORE.LOG files
* GDB (debugger) backtrace call stacks (best endeavors)
Of course you will need a login to Oracle's Metalink site.
Hope that helps,

Hi
I have a stored procedure that uses the XMLQuery function (SELECT XMLQuery( '......' RETURNING CONTENT) FROM dual; ) to extract data from 3 different tables and store the xml file in XML DB. This store procedure was running fine for a long time until 2 weeks ago where I started seeing the following error:
Database Error: DBD::Oracle::db do failed: ORA-04030: out of process memory when trying to allocate 92 bytes (koh dur heap d,qmxtkWriteXobToOpn:heap)
Currently I have 16,000 records. I am not sure what is going on, the size of the previous successful output xml file is about 2M. I also noticed when the stored procedure runs with 3G of system memory available, it basically used up all the memory and cpu time. The store proc consistently dies after 3.5 hour and spits out the ORA-04030 out of process memory error.
Does anyone have any suggestion what to look for or what parameters I need to set? ThanksUnless your database is strictly a DSS-type of database, your AWR report exposes loads of issues with it. And I think none of the time during the AWR window was spent on database. Look at the DB time (with all those multi cores) compared with the elapsed time of the AWR.
As you are on 11g, why not make use of MEMORY_TARGET (a single parameter to manage both SGA and PGA)? If you are already on it, ignore this as I can't see it anywhere. If not, get rid of SGA_TARGET and PGA_AGGREGATE_TARGET and replace it with a single MEMORY_TARGET parameter. However you may have a minimum threshold set for different SGA pools so that they won't shrink beyond that point.
Having said that, setting MEMORY_TARGET is not a guarantee to avoid ORA-4030. Just a single bad PL/SQL code could go and exploit the untunable part of your process memory and even go and blow up the physical memory. If you are using FORALL and BULK load, see if you can cut it down into few chunks rather than running as a single process.
What does your V$PGASTAT say? -

Hello,
I'm getting errors below (only copied partial error) when I start managed server soa_server1. Main errors seem to be:
"No unique bean of type [javax.persistence.EntityManager] is defined" and "Caused By: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: oracle/bpm/analytics/cube/action/CubeCommand".
Any suggestions on where to start debugging?
