Error in registering WSRP portlet producer  with Oracle Portal 10.1.4

Hi all,
I am using OC4J 10.1.3.4.0 as producer of portlets and Oracle Portal 10.1.4 as consumer. I am encountering error in registering the producer WSDL. Here's the stack trace:
An error occurred when attempting to call the providers register function. (WWC-43134)
An error occurred during the call to the WSRP Provider: java.rmi.RemoteException: Runtime exception; nested exception is:

Note that when the producer is OC4J 10.1.3.1.1 then it works fine. The OC4J log file is also not throwing any exception. So, i think some problem with Oracle Portal 10.1.4.
Thanks

  • Register the Oracle 9iFS Portlet with Oracle Portal

I did register the Oracle 9iFS Portlet with Oracle Portal.
But when I am adding the portlet to a portal page I get the error:
    "500 Internal Server Error"
When I am trying to access the page by url:
    http://<myserver>:7777/ifs/portlet
    I get the error:
"You are not authorized to view this page"

not a problem with BEA , just means your database has been configured to close your session after a period of inactivity(which is normal).
Check you connection pool testing settings and tune accordingly.

  • Consuming SharePoint WSRP with OracleAS Portal

    Hi,
i hope, this is the right place for the topic.
We are trying to integrate our SharePoint Server into our Oracle Portal 10.1.4 by using the Microsoft SharePoint WSRP Producer.
The producer seems to be up and running. (The wsdl-file and all of the depending files were accessible.) But when registering an new Provider, it fails fetching the Services with the following error stack:
Beim Aufruf des WSRP Providers ist ein Fehler aufgetreten: Java stack trace from root exception:
java.rmi.ServerException: Server unavailable, please try later

    at oracle.webdb.wsrp.client.design.v1.OraWSRP_v1_ServiceDescription_PortType.getServiceDescription(Unknown Source)
    . (WWC-43273)
The server is definitely up and running.
Btw. we can consume other WSRP-Portlets without problems with Oracle Portal Server and GlassFish (using Portlet Container Driver and WSRP).
Does anybody have experiences on consuming WSRP from the SharePoint Server (e.g. with the WebCenter Application) or does anybody have an idea what the problem might be?
    Thanks in advance

  • Error while registering SMS portlet

    Hi,
    portal version 9.0.4.0.99
I am getting the following error while registering SMS portlet using the external application SMSExternalApp.
SOAP: Caught SOAPException (SOAP-ENV:Client): For input string: "3782 "
    [java.lang.NumberFormatException]
Illegal External Application data, Could not authenticate the user to the Push
Service. Please reenter the correct External Application data for authentication
I followed the instructions as per "Installation Guide for SMS Portlet Beta" available in OTN. I was able to deploy the SMS Portlet provider but while publishing the SMS portlet and creating the external application "SMSExternalApp" it fails. Please let me know what is the cause for this error.

    Hi Ramya,
In order to be able to use the OracleAS Portlet for SMS, you need to get yourself a trial/registered account with the OracleAS Wireless Service Team:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/wireless/messaging.htm
Once you have created an account, you can use the access codes specified by the wireless team, for the username/password fields.
    Thanks,

I also have managed to run the Spring pets portlet example on Sun App Server and Sun Portlet container with no problems. But again it fails on Oracle with the same problem.
To deploy on Oracle I ran the oracle wsrp jar against my EAR. As far as I can tell it has not corrupted any of the Spring setup in the web.xml.
    The version are as follows
Oracle Portal 10.1.4 running on OAS 10.1.2
calling the portlet using WSRP v1.
The portlet is running on standalone OC4J 10.1.3.3 with Oracle portlet container 10.1.3.2. On Windows Spring 2.0.6.
    Any ideas? Thanks Paul

Was an answer ever found? I am currently experiencing the same issue.

  • Registering a Partner application with Oracle SSO 10gR2

    Hi Everybody
I'd like to ask a question around registering a partner application with Oracle SSO.
I have entered my home_url, logout_url and cancel_url e.g. home_url is https://vevopuitest1.co.uk/vevo_test1 and so on for the other fields.
When I save the details some information is automatically created e.g. Site Id, Site Token etc.
The bit that I am particularly interested in are the fields Single Sign-On URL and Single Sign-Off URL.
For my purposes these fields are respectively: https://cwassotest1.co.uk/pls/orasso/orasso.wwsso_app_admin.ls_login and https://cwassotest1.co.uk/pls/orasso/orasso.wwsso_app_admin.ls_logout
    My questions are:
    1. Where do these values come from?
    2. Can I view them anywhere, say, in Oracle Directory Manager or using ldif queries?
I would like to be able to verify these values.
    Many Thanks
    Andy

I'm afraid this won't answer your question completely, but AFAIK in principle it does not matter on which machine SSO is running, as long as it passes the user id and credentials properly through the HTTP Header. Even more: in practice it is very common to have SSO running on a different machine than where your app runs.
So what I would do is find out how to use ADF Faces with SSO. Perhaps someone else can provide pointers on that.

  • Document Management System created with Oracle Portal

I am currently reponsible for creating a DMS with Oracle Portal 10.1.4. I want to know, are folders usually represented as Portlets or Page Items?

One more question. Our Oracle Portal system will be the "window" into several other applications, including Oracle Discoverer and external applications. The plan is that the functionality for the DMS should only be for the DMS. Because the DMS will have basic and advanced search functionality that should only search the DMS repository, do you suggest creating a separate Page Group for the DMS or one overarching one for the overall Portal and the DMS piece will have subpages? I'm not sure if development will be more complicated or simplistic with a individual DMS Page Group.

  • Portlet problem on Oracle Portal Server....

    Hi all,
    i m using Oracle Portal Server 10.1.2.
    Problem is as follows:-
There are two portlets (P1, P2) added on two seperate portal tabs( TB1,TB2) respectively under Portal Builder.
On portlet P1 when i do a action say Save and it saves the data.
now i go to portlet P2 which is on tab TB2 and when i come back on TB1 to go on portlet P1 then in the PortletRenderRequest i still get action value as Save and it saves the previous data once more.
in short....:- even moving on portal tabs the previous action of the last rendered portlet is firing.
how it is persisting the action in request , even after i have done with moving on portal tabs.
even on refreshing the page it is adding the same data again.
But this doesn't happen with IBM Portal Server.(Tested the same code with all the above conditions)
could any one please have some thoughts ???

    Hi Guys,
One good thing i found is
When i perform the same operations (as described in the first post of this thread) with JSR168 Portlets then it is working Perfectly.
So i feel , only the problem is with JPDK Porltet and not with Oracle Portal Server.
It's good to see that JSR168 are working fine except
    portletURL.setPortletMode(PortletMode.EDIT) ( till now i found this only )

make sure LDAP connection is working. Make sure use default ports for all connections. Most of the samples on the OTN uses default port, if you change them you, you have to modify sample code.

How can I send files by FTP with Oracle Portal?
    Any ideas?

    Enrique,
Are you trying to transfer more content from remote locations to expose as items within a portal page? By itself, the Oracle Portal runs within the context of the database so I'm not sure how FTP at the OS level will help. However, if you're attempting to transfer files from a remote PC to upload within the Portal, here are a couple of suggestions.
    Option 1:
    A. Create a portal page.
    B. Convert a region to Items.
    C. When you're challenged to upload a file from the local OS, ensure you've a drive mapped to your remote location and pick the file to upload into the Oracle9iAS Portal.
    Option 2:
Alternatively, the Oracle9iAS Portal 9.0.2 supports the WebDAV protocol(Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning Protocol) allowing endusers with a WebDAV client to upload content into the Portal seamlessly from their desktop.
    Pls. check out:

    Hope that helps!
