Error in translation of YTD to periodic data

Hi
I am facing a peculiar problem.
All data i enter is in YTD terms.
For revenue as well as Balance lines, this normally gets converted to periodic value automatically by HFM after input.
But I now observe that though all Balance type accouts ( marked Asset/liability types in metadata) get show proper periodic and YTD values, the revenue/ expense type accounts do not calculate.
Hence the amount as input in YTD remains the same in Periodic (I have input data for consecutive 3 months). Similarly data as entered for periodic member remains as it is in YTD without being added in.
What can be reason for this anomaly ?
Would be a gr8 help if anyone can revert
Rgds

I could see no changes to be made.
So we restarted all the services, redeployed and it was back to normal :-)

  • Exporting YTD and PERIODIC data

    Hi all,
    I've adjusted a data manager package so that the YTD and PERIODIC measures are automatically selected for export to a flat file. Whenever I want to save the package the script automatically changes and removes either YTD or PERIODIC.
    Any idea how I can change the script so that both YTD and PERIODIC measures are exported to a flat file?
    Thank you.

    This the way I do with my co-work production or when work in a team with guys who live out of my country. You can pack/archive the whole project folder into Zip or (Rar - I do that using my PC) which reduces the project folder content globally.
    There are quite many "free hosts" in our days so you can manage your work via Email or Skype and use such servers if you can not afford to buy any hosting space. To my opinion it is best to provide the original project when you use same apps, plugins etc. Any tricky export, audio file compression etc will be time consuming for your partner...

  • Implications of Using a Rule to Populate Periodic Data in a YTD app

    Is it bad practice to specify and populate an intersection with periodic data using rules when the application is set up as YTD?
    For example:
    Entity A has a $50 intercompany expense with Entity B. Entity B is reporting a $48 intercompany income with Entity A. We have a rule set up to populate a statistical "counterparty" account to show what the ICP is reporting. This way we can create custom SV and Financial Reports and also allow users to view info from entities (ICPs) in which they might not have access.
    So the YTD line items are...
    Entity A, ICP B shows interco_exp $50 and counterparty_interco_inc $48
    Entity B, ICP A shows interco_inc $48 and counterparty_interco_exp $50
    The question on Periodic vs YTD comes in when one entity is a different functional currency than the icp. Writing the rule is much easier using periodic data for P&L accounts (using the period fx rate to back into the functional currency of the entity).
    Thoughts/suggestions?
    Thanks.

    This would be done in InfoPath.
    Click on your Matter Name field and then select properties. For default value, select the data source as your other data source and then highlight the Matter name field. Click filter data and use the form field for Matter number.

  • Loading data - YTD vs Periodic

    Just to confirm...you cannot load some data as YTD and some as MTD, correct? Same app, same scenario.

    Within a data file, you can mix records (different accounts) with YTD and Periodic. But I have not tried mixing YTD and Periodic records for same account and load it with "Accumulate within file" option.

  • Change Periodic data to YTD data

    Hello,
    I have periodic data stored in the system (in Periodic Measure).
    Is there any way to pass the data to accumulated type (changing to YTD Measure)?
    Regards,
    Miguel.

    If your data is in YTD format then you can select so in 'web application parameters'.
    Suppose you are brining actuals data from ECC in YTD format, then you can select the data sources is predefined for YTD format. Some data sources are preconfigured for MTD and some YTD format.
    However if it is merely reporting issue, try the solution suggested by Niranjan.
    if you provide more details I can  try to help as much..

    I have seen few very old threads on this problem in the forum but none of them had any answers so opening up a new one.
    Thanks.

    Your transformation with for-each look is incorrect.
    This is what you have right now:
    <ns1:AppointmentRequestsLog>
    <xsl:for-each select="/imp1:doctorAppointmentRequestRoot/imp1:doctorAppointmentRequest">
    <ns1:AppointmentRequest>
    <ns1:C1>
    <xsl:value-of select="xp20:current-date()"/>
    </ns1:C1>
    <ns1:C2>
    <xsl:value-of select='substring-before("doctor1234_20120926_helloworld","_")'/>
    </ns1:C2>
    <ns1:C3>
    <xsl:value-of select="/imp1:doctorAppointmentRequestRoot/imp1:doctorAppointmentRequest/imp1:C2"/>
    </ns1:C3>This is the correct way to write for-each within XSLT:
    <ns1:AppointmentRequestsLog>
    <xsl:for-each select="/imp1:doctorAppointmentRequestRoot/imp1:doctorAppointmentRequest">
    <ns1:AppointmentRequest>
    <ns1:C1>
    <xsl:value-of select="xp20:current-date()"/>
    </ns1:C1>
    <ns1:C2>
    <xsl:value-of select='substring-before("doctor1234_20120926_helloworld","_")'/>
    </ns1:C2>
    <ns1:C3>
    <xsl:value-of select="imp1:C2"/>
    </ns1:C3>Also, check the flow trace in the EM console for the instance which errored out and paste here the data which is being sent to the FileWrite Adapter. Also, you need to ensure that any elements which are defined as xs:int should not have empty string as values. For example in your write schema C3 has int. So you should map C3 in XSLT like following:
    <xsl:choose>
    <xsl:when test="imp1:C2 and string-length(imp1:C2) > 0">
    <ns1:C3>
    <xsl:value-of select="imp1:C2"/>
    </ns1:C3>
    </xsl:when>
    <xsl:otherwise>
    <ns1:C3>0</ns1:C3>
    </xsl:otherwise>
    </xsl:choose>

  • Error: No depreciation  posting required in period 009 (current period)

    Hi,
      I am getting error " No depreciation posting required in period 009"  and  009 is my current period.
       The description of the error says " Do depreciation is posted, since according to the posting cycle no postings are required in this period".   In fact this is the first time i am running depreciation. I want to post the depreciation for 1st period. More over i could not able to see the planned values in asset explorer also.
       Whenever i am entering this asset in the asset explorer it is  giving the above error. But while i run the depreciation its not giving any error. When i check in spool to view the depreciation, its giving msg as "List contains no data" check error log.
      Could anyone help me in resolving this error.  what could be the reason for this error.
    Thanks
    Sabera

    Hi,
      I checked in TABA table, its showing that till 9 the period depreciation has been posted. But i have not posted the depreciation. If it is posted, then it has to show in the planned values as posted, but its showing as "No depreciation"  and its not even showing the depreciation for other periods.  Could you able to clear this query? I wonder why it is giving this kind of error.
    Regards

  • BPC Consolidation application - YTD or periodic

    Hi,
    YTD or Periodic - For legal consolidation (IFRS, USGAAP), what would be the best option for a customer with ECC, BW and BPC landscape. Are there any major issues in mapping specific consolidation process in YTD application (like reconciliation with ECC data ect).

    Hello Lokesh,
    The IFRS focuses mainly on the reporting aspects of financial results of an enterprise. Consolidated or not, for all listed companies, these requirements impose strict norms that need to be adhered to for reporting the financial results. Therefore, if an enterprise has many subsidiaries and the numbers are reported for the group as per the IFRS norms, it still presupposes that ALL the norms have been adhered to.
    In respect of Business Objects Planning and Consolidation, SAP has come up with a Starter Kit for IFRS adoption. It is pre-configured with all reports, controls and rules for performing, validating and publishing a statutory consolidation in accordance with IFRS standards. An enterprise may have the desired setting for its Consolidation Definition. One of the settings is choosing a pre-defined variant that allows it to have either Periodic or YTD setting to be selected for a given category, data period and currency. For more information, follow this link:
    http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/bofc10/en/FC10_SK_IFRS_ConfDesc_en.pdf
    In my view, for legal consolidation, the consolidated financial information is valid only if it is YTD. The periodic values are needed only for calculating the movements - for Statement of Cash Flows. This aspect is well taken care of in the Consolidation Processing u2013 either Full Processing or Incremental processing.
    If you want to reconcile the balances as per ECC, BI as well as BPC, you have to consider only the YTD values.
    Hope this gives adequate information for clarifying your doubt.

  • LSMW - Periodic Data Transfer - wildcards in filename

    Hello,
    I have the following problem: The file, which has to be periodically read in is specifed for identification date + time e.g. DATAFILE_200820071250.txt
    In the step 'Specifiy Files ' I entered:
    serverDATAFILE_*.txt.
    In the step ' Frame Program for Periodic Data Transfer' I entered in 'Value for Wildcard (*)' the following interval: 0000000000000000 - 99999999999999999.
    During execution now (as a job with variant or directly) I receive always the same error message (/SAPDMC/LSMW524): "Specified values for wildcard (*) have not been defined" .
    How I have to define the filename with wildcard (*) of a file which is peridically read in by LSMW?????
    Thanks for your help!
    Atentamente le saluda / Mit freundlichen Grüssen / Yours sincerely
    Nicole Miosga

    Hi Nicole,
    As of my knowledge the way u have assigned the file name is incorrect,
    just check it once, and in SPECIFY FILES  there is values for wildcard ,
    i want to know what u did here.
    Thanks

  • Creat Job for LSMW (periodical data transfer)- idoc BLAORD

    Hi,
    We are trying to create job for LSMW (thru frame program for periodic data transfer) for idoc BLAORD (Purchasing contract)
    When I am running the job that I created, the job is cancelled and the error is:
    "Upload from front-end is not possible in batch mode.
    Message no. /SAPDMC/LSMW_OBJ_070 020"
    How can I correct that? so I will be able to run a job (the job mast run background?)
    Thanks,
    Tal Sasson

    Hello,
    I was also receiving the same message /SAPDMC/LSMW_OBJ_070 020 even though I specified in /SAPDMC/SAP_LSMW_INTERFACE the server path. The problem was that in LSMW->Specify Files you have to delete the definition of front-end files and define application server files.
    That Flag File (Path and Name) (field /SAPDMC/LSOINP-FILENAME in program /SAPDMC/SAP_LSMW_INTERFACE) is kind of useless since it is ignored anyway and files defined in LSMW object are imported and they have to be read anyway if you use more than one file.

  • Validation business rule on a cumulative basis with periodic data storage

    Hi BPC Experts,
    Is it possible to set up a validation business rule on a cumulative basis when we have periodic data storage type?
    Appreciate your assistance with this.
    Thanks.
    Mila

    Hi Mila
    Please could you tell me how you solved the issue?
    We have it the other way round, a YTD storage, but would like to validate accounts on a periodic basis.
    Thanks for sharing your findings.

  • Periodic Data Extract from HFM

    Does anyone have any tips/suggestions for extracting periodic data out of HFM? Currently in our application we are loading year to date data from Oracle into HFM using FDM. When we go to extract periodic data in the application it skips over the ghost numbers that are generated in HFM. In order for the data to be complete though we need those ghost numbers to come out in the extract file. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

    The ghost numbers I am referring to are ones generated in HFM. For example on an income statement if you load $1,000 as the January YTD Balance and load $0 as the February YTD Balance, HFM will create a ghost (gray) $-1000 to make the February YTD Balance truly Zero. I need to somehow extract that -1000 amount to make a true periodic data file that will be loaded into Hyperion Planning. Thanks!

  • YTD and Periodic

    Hi Experts,
    I have had a request from a client to build a balance sheet. The issue is that they have been using BPC 7.5 on a periodic basis for the finance application. They want a balance sheet to now be built and this has to be at YTD.
    Their application parameters is not set to YTD.
    Its is possible to build a YTD balance sheet with the application parameters set to periodic.
    TIA
    HHDJ

    Hi there,
    Are they currently loading balance sheet data on YTD or Periodic basis?
    If they are already loading data to the B/S then you can just set the measure to YTD in instead of Periodic.
    However if they want to start loading YTD B/S data into a Periodic application then that cannot be done because the application has been already setup as Periodic.
    Could you create another App that's strictly YTD or convert the YTD B/S via an ETL process to make it Periodic?

    John

  • YTD or Periodic ? Also the impact of Force Closing parameter

    Dear expert,
    I have 2 question :
    1. YTDINPUT in Application Parameter :
    Is there any concern if i put the parameter with Periodic ? For Example : Any function in bpc that cannot run in periodic data, maybe carry foward function?
    What is the major consideration when i have to choose the periodic or ytd parameter?
    2. In automatic adjustment at the business rules detail.
    There is column named Force Closing.
    I put the Source Flow is F0440 = ( Closing Balance Type )
    I Put Destination Flow is Blank  ( From what i'm read, it will write same as the Sorce Flow )
    And I put The Force Closing is Check
    Is that any problem with that ? Like Double data ?
    Thx
    Suprapto

    Dear Wandi,
    Thanks for your answer, but i think i need to be clear with my question:
    For case no. 1:
    I see in BPC Documentation, the recommended value in YTDInput Paramter is YTD and not periodic.
    Why the recommended value is YTD ?
    Out of the customer needs, what is the best pratices in bpc to store data in Legal Application , YTD or Periodic ?
    Because, BPC comes with great function ( store procedure, business rules, etc ) example : business rules can set up to carry foward the value ,
    If the parameter set to periodic, is the function that created in bpc will have to re-script again to make the value carry foward ?
    Please see my cases not just only in carry foward case, but the consideration if the periodic is setup then what features in bpc that i have to re-create again manually in script.
    For case no 2:
    My service patch is 7.0.112
    IF my settings is like that ? is it will create a dupplicate value ?
    Because the source value is the ending balance, the destination is ending balance and the force closing is check.
    From what i'm read in document, the force closing will create value in the ending value. Am I will create dupplicate data if the source value is the ending balance, the destination is ending balance and the force closing is check ?
    Thanks for your help.
