Error in updating BO record

Hi all,
       I am trying to update one of the attribute of BO record by calling update function of BO in an application service. But i am getting an error message " Entity is locked by user guest".
I have written following code.

        OrderStatus orderrecord = orderstatusBOinstance.readByCustomKeys(orderid);
//changing one of attribute

Can anybody guide me in removing this error.

I have checked the code. There is no problem in the current portion of the code, you have provided (I was wrongly thinking it should be insert into....!! mistake)
I have tested with Oracle Database and classes12.zip in classpath. It ran smoothly.

Im new to coldfusion and am running into a problem while
trying to update a record in a MS Access table.
I have a MS Access table where the primary key is a
auto-number long integer field named jobid.
I have an edit form where info can be changed then saved. A
hidden form field named jobid holds the records primary key field
value for the record being edited. When submitted this is what
happens:
I use a basic SQL UPDATE statement but I get the error "Data
type mismatch in criteria expression"
Some code:

*dont know if i need the above line but using #FORM.jobid#
in the WHERE clause below didnt work either

The WHERE clause is where the error occurs with "Data type
mismatch in criteria expression"
After a few times with that i changed the where clause to
simply "WHERE jobid=1" as this record id does exist, but it has the
same error.
I then tried changing the where clause to
WHERE jobid=<cfqueryparam cfsqltype="cf_sql_bigint"
value="#FORM.jobid#">
and there it "appears" to work, but the record is not
actually updated. No changes are made to the table though no error
is thrown.
Im missing something here... why wont the record update
?

The data type mismatch isn't necessarily in your where
clause. I'm guessing that it's the quotes around the create
odbcdate function.
use of cfqueryparam will solve a lot of these problems for
you.

Getting timeout error while updating a record from c#

Hi,
I have around 30k records in a tables. When I update that record inside the Transaction (Enterprise Data Library, c#) , it takes long time and throws timeout error.
But I am able to update the same record via Toad.
In the morning I tried same updating the record, it works without any change in the code or script.+
is it due table lock or db related issue? please adivse, how to resolve if occurs again.

Server java trace error while updating bulk records from AIX to Oracle 10g

I am getting an error in TCL (Tool Command language) script that updates the records in a database table i.e around 2500 records are to be updated. I am using update statement with bind variables to insert the data.

However, after processing 900 or so records (takes around 8 hours) I get the following error:

Updating the records problem urgent

Hi All,
i have developed search page by using the query region. in that i have created update image icon to navigate update page to update the records. i have 4 search records, when i click the go button 4 records are come to the advance table. i will select any one of the row and select update icon to update the records by using the apply button in update page.when i click the apply button its navigate to the search page and showing only updated records row only. i did not get all 4 rows in advancetable.I re-query on the page, but I can’t get the other 3 rows back unless I close the page and come back in.
here i am not facing any error, after update the records and come back to the main page i am not getting all records only updated row records Only 1 of the four rows only appear.
can any one help me its urgent

Getting error " Incomplete update due to error in single records"

Dear All,
We are loading data from DSO to Cube using full load and the load is failing giving an error message Collection in the source system ended and when checked the error message button it is showing as " Incomplete update due to error in single records" . and also one more message "Messages (type E) for data records with record number 0
Message no. RSM2714". Can any one tell us the reason for the failure of this load ? and how to resolve it ?.
When we click on the help button of the error message it is displaying the message as below

Diagnosis
In the update rules, one InfoSource record was used to create several records in the data target. These records must be handled in the same way to enable tracking into the PSA and the treatment of errors in individual records.
In the previous case, one record was updated in this kind of group generated by update rules, whereas other records in the same group were rejected. If you updated the PSA data record again, the records that were already updated would be updated again. Duplicate records would appear in the data target and the data target would thus be inconsistent.
System Response
The data record with errors was highlighted in the PSA. However, no error request was generated.
Procedure
Delete the request in the data target and, after removing the error, update all records for the request to the data target again.

Can you please check out the PSA error record and check this out in Source DSO as this load is for DSO -> Cube....
Please correct it in PSA if this is not correct as per DSO ....prior correcting data in PSA pls delete the request from Cube.....then it will allow to correct or delete record in PSA and then further push data from PSA to Target Cube...
If its correct as per DSO then run load in DSO sometime few records wrongly updated by end user and they correct it by evening for Submission....So u will get the corrected record and then run manually further load to Cube...

I have a base template (which has never been sysprep'd) from which I create linked clones. After the linked clone comes up, I run the following command:

This works fine for the first few linked clones, but after about 3-4 linked clones are running, I start to hit "A fatal error occurred while trying to sysprep the machine."

This is typical of an OEM license issue.
To avoid this in the future you should look at site/volume licensing.
Anyway.
so, first check if you can re-arm by runing the
slmgr.vbs /dlv and check the re-arm counter, if it set to zero.. you need to do the following :
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929828 (set the <SkipRearm>1</SkipRearm> like in the example, note: this option will make the product key window to appear in the setup process).
you can also try running : slmgr.vbs -rearm, to rearm Windows.
after that, let's come back to the sysprep process.. for syspreping already syspreped machine we have to change few keys in the registry :

Start -> Run : msdtc -uninstall (wait few seconds)
Start -> Run : msdtc -install (wait few seconds)
Restart the machine
Check the registry for the right registry keys values
sysprep with the new XML answerfile.

Error while querying - You cannot update this record

I have a builded a form and was successful when i enter the data. But when i query the form it is showing me the error FRM-14050 YOU CANNOT UPDATE THIS RECORD.
I have pre-insert, pre-update and pre-query triggers at block level.
In PRE_INSERT iam setting the property to insert allowed and true.
same way for pre-update and pre-query.
Can any one guide me.

as I can unblock a session in the graphical surroundings of administration of the BD 10g of Oracle

From experience with this problem since the blocked customer form has been coded not to wait for the updating session to complete then there is likely no waiter on the system now so you cannot find the blocking session.
What you need to do is determine what row the Form was going after then using SQLPlus issue an update on the row. If the blocking session has not yet committed then this update will wait. Now if you look for blocking sessions you will be able to find it and make a determination if the session should be killed or if someone needs to call the user and ask he or she to flip through their screens and get out of the blocking screen.
Applications screens written not to wait on currently being updated data need to also be written to expose the information necessary to identify the row(s) in question.

I have two tab pages and one item on each page. Second tab page item, is mirror item of the first one. I use synchronize property on the mirrored one.
When i try to update mirrored one i get that error: FRM-40501 ORACLE error: unable to reserve record for update or delete when.

the error u r getting means that the record cannot be locked. This is ussually caused if u had locked the record from somewhere else (u or another user) or when forms cannot find corresponding column to the base table to lock the record.. U probably r facing the second situation. I'm not sure that forms can commit a change to an item that is synchronized cause synchronized items ignore their base table attribute and just copy their value from the other item.
Why don't u try Copy Value from Item property using <block_name>.<item_name> syntax and your item will have a value copied from the other item but u will have no problem with the db transactions. I suppose..

This error does not come from your procedure code, but from Forms itself. If you are in a database block, change something, and do a commit (either via a Forms key or in your own procedure), Forms commits the changes. For some reason this is not possible. You can see the database error via the Display Error key (often Shift-F1).
I see in the OP that this key is disabled. Change the on-error code then:

It seems like while updating few records may be no in the format of the field in which it is updated.

Error while updating account dim

I get the below error while updating the Outline Account Dim.This error occurs only when updating account dim. It does not happen with other dimensions. So it doesn't seem to be the connection being down. If we recycle the analytics server. But we are not able to find out the actual cause for this issue.
Error message:
Cannot build dimension. Analytic Server Error(1042017): Network error: The client or server timed out waiting to receive data using TCP/IP. Check network connections. Increase the NetRetryCount and/or NetDelay values in the ESSBASE.CFG file. Update this file on both client and server. Restart the client and try again
Additional information
Account is defined as dense dimesion with 1800 level 0 members. We are updating this using rules file.

There is probably something in your dim build source file that Essbase doesn't like and isn't giving you a good error message. Did this dim build work in the past and you recently added something to it?
Try excluding certain columns like member properties and data storage just to see if you can get the members to load. Then slowly bring back in the other columns to see if you find the one that has the problem. Similarly try keeping all the columns but just try loading one record and see if it succeeds, this will help you start to narrow down if it is a load rule or source issue. Other option is to create a new load rule, perhaps there is something wrong with the one you are using.
Unfortunately there is no magic bullet here, you just have to work through small samples to try and isolate what the problem is.
