2.when i open the webutil canvas, i got the error "oracle.forms.webutil.clientinfo.getclientinfo"

have you signed the .jar files and included the jar files in the formsweb.cfg, .env. Also just run the create_webutil_db.sql in the database.
i think this will solve the problem.

  • Error executing webutil program

    Gurus,
    This is the post which I have already closed earlier since I got the solution for Webutil program (the thread is printing file to printer from forms 10g) .. Now the problem is very peculiar
    When I execute the form from printer (network) when I am in network, my program worked very much fine .. Now when I copy the same program onto server and try to run, it throws an error
    "Oracle.forms.webutil.host.Host bean not found. WEBUTIL_HOST execute will not work"
    I have checked with default.env, formsweb.cfg whether the entries are properly made or not on the server .. Everything is perfect. I have executed create_webutil_db.sql script too onto the server ... I have copied jacob.jar, frmwebutil.jar into the respective folders .. Yet I am facing the problem
    Can anyone suggest me why am I facing this error and what could be the probable solution for this
    Can anyone help me please
    Regards

    hello,
    1) make sure that you are using the right version for your JDK.
    2) Are you sure that the path referencing your webutil and any bean is setup. From the message you have, it seems like it is not finding the bean.
    3) Did you try your printing bean on windows and worked fine and now you are trying on UNIX/LINUX ? if so, you have a path prob to fix on UNIX/LINUX. Also, there are some additional config that are a bit different whether you are on OC4J or IAS.

    At first glance I have a few questions and/or comments:
    You said:
    "...I did the steps to the configuration of the webutil and also apply the patch 4960210...{quote}
    Patch 4960210 is 10.1.2.2. Given that your Forms components are still reporting 10.1.2.0.2 as seen in your posting, I will assume that you did not correctly install and relink the patch. You should be seeing version 10.1.2.2 and not 10.1.2.0.2. Refer to Metalink note 404477.1 as this may be the cause of the patching problem. The note and the patch mentioned within that note are specific to Windows and SPARC, but may help you to troubleshoot your Solaris Intel environment.
    Although not related to your problem, be aware that the latest patch is 10.1.2.3 (patch ID 5983622)

    Once you correct this problem, you will need to ensure that you have run the WebUtil sql script as its contents is needed to compile webutil.pll. The script can be found in the Developer Suite Oralce Home\forms directory. The file name is: create_webutil_db.sql
    Also, I would recommend using frmcmp.sh and not _batch. This will require access to a X session.

    Hi
    There is a known problem with JInitiator 1.3.1.13
    In your webutil.cfg change the appropriate line to something like this
    install.syslib.location=http://localhost:8888/forms90/webutil

    You should have something similar to the following in your Registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> Oracle -> KEY_DevSuiteHome1. Within this key, there should be a String Value for FORMS_PATH. Keep in mind, that when using Oracle Products you typically must be logged into your computer with an account that has the Administrator privilege. If you still can't find the FORMS_PATH key, you can also use Environment Variables. Even as a restricted user, you should still be able to add a "User" environment variable. For more information take a look at: How To Manage Environment Variables in Windows XP. While this article is for Windows XP, the process is similar for Windows 7.
    Copy all your library to
    C:\DevSuiteHome_1\formsI don't recommend doing this. It is always best to seperate your development files from the Application home directory. What happens if you accidently delete an application file when you were trying to delete a development file or you open and edit an application file and save it? Now you're reinstalling to restore the file. This is just not a good idea IMHO!

  • Error with WebUtil

    When running my form on the web i get this error
    FRM-40039 cannot attach library E:\Devsuite\forms\webutil while opening form
    i am using the form builder with developer suite 10g
    IAny help is much appreciated
    Regards Chris

    Hi Chris,
    Try opening the webutil.pll file within forms File>Open>webutil.pll. Then compile this .pll file and you should see a new webutil.plx file in the same directory. Take the .plx and drop it in the directory of your forms server that houses your forms.
    On the forms that you are attaching this library, you should remove the path after attaching. Just hit no to the box that pops up.
    Cheers!
    Jordan

  • Error compile Webutil

    When i am compiling library webutil.pll is with error:
    Error in compile in WEBUTIL_DB_LOCAL:
    PL/SQL ERROR 201 line 9, colunn 12
    the identified 'WEBUTIL_DB.OPENBLOB' it should be declared
    Whats wrong
    Marcos

    If you are starting your form builder with a shortcut, then go to properties of that shortcut and mention the path where the Pll resides, in the start in parameter.
    Otherwise, Go to the registry, set the forms90_path for 10G home with the path where the Pll resides.

  • Error Handling in WebUtil CLIENT_OLE2.get_obj_property

    Hello,
    we have a problem with the error handling in WebUtil's CLIENT_OLE2.get_obj_property function. The WebUtil version is 1.0.2 and the problem can be reproduced on the 9iAS, 9iDS and 10gAS as well.
    Problem description:
    The get_obj_property function does not throw a PL/SQL exception when it is given an invalid object as first argument (i.e. an object handle to an application that has intermittently been closed by the user). Instead, the function returns a NULL value and the control flow of our application code continues as if the function had succeeded. So the problem is that the get_obj_property function neither throws an exception nor can the failure be caught by calling WEBUTIL_CORE.IsError as this returns that no error occurred.
    Example:
    PACKAGE BODY word IS
    OBJ_HND CLIENT_OLE2.OBJ_TYPE := NULL;
    mydocs CLIENT_ole2.obj_type;
    -- Start Word97
    PROCEDURE wordopen is
    BEGIN
    obj_hnd := null;
    obj_hnd := CLIENT_OLE2.create_obj ('Word.Application');
    CLIENT_OLE2.Set_property(obj_hnd,'Visible',1);
    END;
    PROCEDURE test is
    BEGIN
    IF obj_hnd IS NULL THEN
    wordopen;
    END IF;
    BEGIN
    mydocs := CLIENT_OLE2.get_obj_property(obj_hnd,'Documents');
    EXCEPTION WHEN OTHERS THEN
    -- Word has probably been closed by the user
    -- so just start it again and retry...
    wordopen;
    mydocs := CLIENT_OLE2.get_obj_property(obj_hnd,'Documents');
    END;
    END;
    END;
    If the procedure test is called once then the Word application is started and the procedure performs some work. The procedure could be called several times on the same Word instance but fails in case the user closes the Word application because the procedure does not get an exception or error from WebUtil's get_obj_property function. Only a JACOB Java exception is logged in the Java console of the user's computer - the PL/SQL code has no way of knowing that an error has occurred.
    Possible solution / patch for webutil.pll:
    The webutil.pll can be patched to throw an exception if it is given an invalid object handle. In webutil.pll version 1.0.2 in get_object_property, line 1205, just add the condition "(v_javaHandle IS NULL) or " at the beginning of the if-statement in that line so that an OLE_ERROR will be raised if v_javaHandle is NULL:
    if (v_javaHandle IS NULL) or (v_javaHandle = 0) or (v_javaHandle='') or (v_javaHandle=-1) then
    raise OLE_ERROR;
    end if;
    Can you confirm the error and re-release a patched webutil.pll at a later time?

    Hi
    It is mentioned in webutil doc that, you must regenerate webutil.pll before using it; otherwise you’ll encounter error ORA-06508 when running a form with the attached library.
    Hope this helps...

  • Problem webutil on server

    Hi all.
    I have a problem with webutil on the server-side.
    On my client-machine (operating system windows xp service pack2) everything it is ok. But when I run webutil on the server (operating system Linux), I have this message error:
    "The webutil object group is not available in this form. Webutil cannot work.
    Webutil error: oracle.forms.webutil.olefunctions bean not found. CLIENT_OLE2.create_obj will not work."
    The thing that is strange is that local on my machine everything is ok. I have tried to cancel the library and the object group from the form and then to re-attach them, but the result is the same: local on my machine it's ok and on the server I have got the message above.
    Is there anyone that can help me???
    Thanks, Fabrizio

    Dear Fabrizo ;
    I am so sorry i did not work on Linux plafrom befor,
    but i think it has the same configuraion as windows.so if you check webutil configuration again and again i think it could work.
    and this is webutil configuration

    1- ....................... The Principles of the WebUtil Design .
    2- ....................... HOW TO CONFIGURE AND DEPLOY WEBUTIL .
    3- ....................... HOWT O ATTACH IT IN UR FORM .
    1 - The Principles of the WebUtil Design :-
    The aim of WebUtil is to provide a utility that any Forms developer can use to carry
    out complex tasks on the client browser computer by simply coding in PL/SQL.
    Although WebUtil itself uses Java extensively, there is no need for the developer to
    have any understanding of Java. Everything the developer needs to do is exposed
    through a standard PL/SQL library webutil.pll.
    All of the components that are needed to support WebUtil are likewise exposed
    through a simple object group.
    For an Oracle Forms application to take advantage of WebUtil, you only need to attach
    the WebUtil library and subclass the Object Group. No setup or configuration in code
    is required as WebUtil is self-configuring and where necessary, self-installing.
    Some features of WebUtil, such as client side OLE integration, require code to be
    installed onto each client computer. One of the key features of WebUtil is its ability to
    "self-install" in these cases. There is no need for an administrator to configure each and
    every computer because WebUtil detects which client-side pieces are missing and
    automatically installs them.
    Another aim of WebUtil is to simplify porting of client server integration code to work
    on the client browser computer. To achieve this, WebUtil contains PL/SQL APIs mimic
    the behavior of the equivalent native Forms functions.
    An example of this is the Forms TEXT_IO package. This package provides the
    developer with facilities to read and write text files on the application server. WebUtil
    provides an alternative implementation, CLIENT_TEXT_IO, which is identical to
    TEXT_IO except that calls are implemented on the client browser computer rather than
    on the middle tier. Migrating existing code to operate on the client can be achieved
    using a simple search and replace operation in the PL/SQL code to changes references
    to point at the alternative "CLIENT" implementations provided by WebUtil.
    The final goal of WebUtil design is to add value to Oracle Forms as a product. WebUtil
    adds capabilities to Forms which have simply not existed before in either web or client
    server deployments.
