Error Installing on virtual host

Hi all,
I try to install (system copy) CRM4.0 virtualized on 2 hosts, node_A (for Central Instance) and node_B (for Database Instance) on one physical box (AIX 5.3, DB2 Version 9.1 Fixpack 2).
For this i use the sapinst parameter SAPINST_USE_HOSTNAME=node_A. The Central Installation went through smoothly. Then i change the physical hostname of my AIX to node_B for the DB-installation, without SAPINST_USE_HOSTNAME.
In the step where i have to define the filesystem where my database export is (Software Package Check) i get this error:
ERROR 2007-11-06 09:18:42
CJSlibModule::writeError_impl()
MUT-03010 Execution of the command "db2 -tvf last_command.sql -r last_command.res -z last_command.out" finished with status TST_ERROR.
I think my installation has problems with cataloging the database in the database catalog...
thanks, günther

Good morning,
sapinst is really weird. In the step where sapinst has to create the database instance (thats the first part of the installation, Central instance installation) i found this in sapinst_dev.log:
TRACE      iax6binstc.cpp:840
           CDB6Instance::executeCommand(iastring, iastring, iastring, ISyslibFactory*)

Explanation: (db2icrt creates db-instance) db2icrt -a SERVER_ENCRYPT -s client -w 64 -u db2dcr db2dcr
===> "-s client" = client installation ?
===> "-w 64" = unknown switch, old one...
Furthermore i have seen that also IBM has some strange entries in their scripts, for example in db2icrt (i installed V9 Fixpack 2)
db2licm -v
9.1
# NAME: db2icrt
1. FUNCTION: db2icrt - creates a DB2 V8 instance.
===> Version 8 ???
Back to your question:
When i run the script with -tvf then the script is able to start the database. but a connect is not possible:
db2start
DB20000I The DB2START command completed successfully.
connect to DCR
SQL1224N The database manager is not able to accept new requests, has
terminated all requests in progress, or has terminated your particular request
due to a problem with your request. SQLSTATE=55032
While he tries to open a connection to the database he forkes alot of db2agents
% db2_ps | grep db2agent | wc -l
200
% db2 get dbm cfg | grep -i agents
Priority of agents (AGENTPRI) = SYSTEM
Max number of existing agents (MAXAGENTS) = 400
Agent pool size (NUM_POOLAGENTS) = 200(calculated)
Initial number of agents in pool (NUM_INITAGENTS) = 0
Back to my assumption:
I guess the root cause has something to do with the uncorrect database instance creation above (central instance). sapinst is not able to create a proper db instance (...client, see above). so i do this step manually. then sapinst cataloges the database:
% db2 list db directory
System Database Directory
Number of entries in the directory = 1
Database 1 entry:
Database alias = DCR
Database name = DCR
Node name = NODEDCR
Database release level = b.00

Node 1 entry:
Node name = NODEDCR
Comment = TCPIP Node for database DCR

  • Installing phpMyAdmin using a virtual host

    The situation:
    Apache services are running (Windows XP SP2).
    Virtual host has been successfully created and works both
    with Dreamweaver php pages and pages entered directly in the
    browser address bar (e.g.
    http://mysite/folder/foo.php.
    Server root is d:\htdocs.
    Sites stored in this server root: d:\htdocs\mysite.
    phpMyAdmin folder stored in the server root
    d:\htdocs\phpMyAdmin.
    My problem:
    I have successfully installed MySql and try to configure
    phpMyAdmin according to the reccomendations in David Powers
    book "PHP solutions". When I start to load the setup php
    using the address:
    http://phpmyadmin/scripts/setup.php
    I am
    automatically connected to the internet and this page is
    loaded
    http://www.phpmyadmin.net/home_page/index.php
    I have then manually modified the config.inc.php and stored
    in the phpMyAdmin root. If I try to launch phpMyAdmin by
    entering
    http://phpmyadmin/ the same page is
    loaded from the

    What have I missed and how can I get phpMyAdmin to work

    No, but have done it now. Now I can load phpMyAdmin into my

    Ok. So having installed the virtual host for phpMyAdmin just

  • ICal Error: "No virtual host found for iCal Service" - Help!

    Trying to set up iCal on OS X Server 10.5.6
    Server is up and running and successfully providing web services on its FQDN. Server is not currently used to support network users / services, but as and when it does it will be the Master Opendirectory server.
    I have created a couple of test accounts on the server (simply in the Users group) and enabled both for Calendar Access.
    I have provided the details of the FQDN on the iCal page, and checked that the default port (8008) has been opened in the firewall.
    In web services there is one virtual domain (using name based virtual server) and the default domain in operation. Both appear to be functioning as would be expected.
    When I click on 'start service' for iCal, I get this error.
    "No virtual host found for iCal service"
    I cannot find any information about this in iCal manual, or online documentation. Can anyone here provide pointer to where this information is, or what it means?
    Would be most grateful.

  • No Virtual Host Found

    Ok soooo
    Like everyone else.. ok like some others here... iCal seems to be a major sticking point with 10.5 Server. I'm not an expert, but have been the server admin for several years now so am kind of learning as I go. Here's what I've done:
    1. Clean install of 10.5 "advanced"
    2. Updated to 10.5.1
    3. Created a few users
    4. Created a few groups
    5. Have AFP, mail, web, SMB, chat , and half of VPN up and running correctly.
    6. When trying to start iCal, I get the error message "No Virtual Host Found"
    Most of these posts deal with Open Directory, so I enabled that service, went thru the setup for it, and now OD seems to be working.
    But I STILL can't get iCal to start running.
    This is a very small office... there is only 1 server, since we are not using it as a NAT, there is no DNS running.
    So what am I missing?

    Well out of sheer frustration, I once again started from scratch. While both the "Standard" and the "Workgroup" setups seem similar, I opted for the "Standard" setup to start.
    I believe the one key element to success is to choose Open Directory as one of the first services to set up... there is a list you check during setup, and Open Directory is one of them.. I checked it, and iCal, and File and Print Sharing, and most likely e-mail as the only services for the server to set up and auto configure for me.
    Once that was done, I added a user or two, and things became much clearer.
    On 10.5 Clients, go to the Utilities folder, and look for an application called Directory Utility, and launch it.
    It's possible that your server may have been found by the client, but if it is, I'd elect to delete it and start afresh just to be sure everything is correct.
    For clients INSIDE the office, when asked for the server name or IP address, I entered the IP address of the server, and it went into auto pilot after that, asking me if I wanted it to configure the client computer.... in my case, I checked Yes.
    It will then configure the client to use the services you've set up on the server(so, in reality, you may want to wait 'til you have more services up and running).
    It asks for your username and password on the server, as well as the password for the client machine. As I understand it, if the client password is different, it will change the password on the server to match(but my password is the same, so can't promise what happens when they are different).
    It DID configure both e-mail and iCal to work correctly with the server. In iCal there is a new listing on the left called yourdomain server, and one default calendar there. You can add more if you like.
    Once you have several users up and running, in the client iCal prefs, under the Accounts tab, there is a tab for "Delegation". This is were you allow other users to see and /or write to your calendar. Click the "Edit" button, and the rest should be cake. The users must be valid users on the server. Likewise, there is a window showing accounts you can access and the privileges you have there.
    In my case, I'm not so much working with others, but am looking for a replacement for the iCal sync function of Dot Mac. I was able to log into my account on the server from a computer at work, one at home, and a laptop. All three reflect changes made on any of the client computers I operate.
    (As a note... for the laptop, which is sometimes IN the office and sometimes OUT of the office, as well as the computer at home, in Directory Utility, I used the FQDN of the server. This connects to the server from outside the LAN and works just the same as if I were inside.)
    Now if only there was an option of what to publish in the server.... with Dot Mac, I elect to publish only that there is an event.. no name or anything else... this allows clients to see when I'm busy, but not who I'm busy with. Unless I can figure out how the calendar can be seen by anyone on the web, AND I can hide the event info, I'm stuck on Dot Mac.
    I WISH I had an answer for the "no virtual host" issue. I did run into a problem with a web site, and found the only way to fix it was to delete the web site entry in the Server Admin, then re-instate it again, and all was well. I'm thinking it MAY be possible to delete the iCal service in Server Admin, save changes, re-start the server, then add the iCal service again.... its possible that will get you around the No Virtual Host message, but since I started over, I can't test to tell you if it will or wont work. I can tell you that there is nothing in the iCal Server Admin that is vitally different that what was there before, so I'm at a loss about the no virtual host message.
    Soooo that's my iCal service story. Long, hard, bitter, and difficult. I've said this before, but Apple really need to create some type of "Re-Initialize" server button to put you back with a fresh install, instead of having to re-install it. I've lost track of how many times I've done that with 10.5, and know I had to do it with 10.2, 10.3 and 10.4 as well. For now, I'm on the Standard Setup, but intend to migrate to the Advanced after this seems stable AND I've got a good working copy on a separate drive to go back to should things go haywire. I can say that while I've have had to use Server Admin some(for the firewall for sure), there seems to be no interference between the settings I make in Server Prefs and Server Admin.
    Good luck to you all!

  • Virtual Hosts and CF Server Install

    CF8
    FC8 (yes I know it really has to be RHEL for support)
    Apache 2.2.6
    I am testing out a new webserver for a client. We are trying
    to use apache virtual hosts with a single instance of CF8. This
    will just be a few virtualhosts, not a large amount.
    After some difficulty with installations and the connector I
    was able to get CF8 running with apache. After setting up the
    virtualhosts I only could get to the CFIDE directory after adding
    it as an alias in the virtualhost config.
    If I try to pull up a test cfm file in a virtualhost site CF
    reports file not found. Yet it will pull up the administrator site.
    I assume thats because the /CFIDE path matches that in the main
    webserver root directory.
    Can I run a single instance of CF across apache and its
    virtualhosts? I know CF is running in the VirtualHosts as its an
    error screen from CF. However it just seems like CF is very
    confused when it comes to directory paths.

    I've been fighting the issue all day long. I was so glad to
    come across your post. Unfortunately, there was no answer attached.
    :-( I've figured it out in my install. Hopefully it will be of
    benefit to you.
    Turns out the problem was a permissions error. When
    Coldfusion couldn't read my virtualhost's directory it defaulted to
    the standard wwwroot. To fix it I did a "chmod -R a+rX
    /home/jason/public_html. Then I tried loading the page again and
    all was good.

  • How to Install an APO Livecache on Windows Using Virtual Host Names

    Hi,
    How to Install Live Cache on windows using Virtual Host names?
    we are using SCM 4.0 with  live cache build 7.4.3 on two differnt servers.
    I have checked the Live cache CD (7.4.3) is with setup.cmd, where as it need use command sapinst.exe SAPINST_USE_HOSTNAME=Virtual hostname.
    Please advise.
    Thanks

    a possible workaround (that I have no tested) is to temporarily name your server with the same of the virtual name, install. when completed, rename server to original name.
    This is not a proven method, but it might work.

  • How to access Sql Server Express installed on Virtual PC from Host?

    I have SQL Server Express 2008 R2 installed on Virtual PC. and on my Host machine i have SQL Server 2008 R2 ( Enterprise Version) installed.
    Since Management studio that comes with SQL express does not support SQL profiler, i want to access SQL Server Express from the Host machine’s management studio which has SQL profiler.
    But I could access it using VM’s ip address & instance name

    Hi lax,
    Follow below steps in your Virtual Machine:
    1. Allow remote connections to this server
    The first thing you want to check is if Remote Connections are enabled on your SQL Server database. In SQL Server 2008 you do this by opening SQL Server 2008 Management Studio, connect to the server in question, right click the server and open the Server Properties.
    Navigate to Connections and ensure that Allow remote connections to this server is checked.
    2.  Protocols for MSSQLServer
    The next good thing to check is the SQL Server Network Configuration. Open the SQL Server Configuration Manager, unfold the node SQL Server Network Configuration and select Protocols for MSSQLServer (or whatever the name of your SQL Server instance is). Make
    sure that TCP/IP is enabled.
    3. The Firewall
    If there is still no communication happening between your computer and the remote SQL Server you most likely need to configure your firewall settings.
    A good first step is to figure out which port is being used by TCP/IP (and which you need to open in your firewall). You can do this by right clicking TCP/IP and selecting Properties. Click on the tab IP Addresses .
    That was easy enough and all there is left to do is to allow inbound TCP/IP traffic on Port 1433 in your firewall. In Windows 7 this works something like this. Open the Control Panel and navigate to Windows Firewall. Click on Advanced Settings on the left hand
    side and you should see the Windows Firewall with Advanced Security. Select the Inboud Rules on the left hand side and click on New Rule on the right hand side. This opens the New Inbound Rule Wizard which you can use to allow inbound traffic on Port 1433
    for TCP/IP.
    For more information, please refer to
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/walzenbach/archive/2010/04/14/how-to-enable-remote-connections-in-sql-server-2008.aspx.
    In host machine:
    After you have done steps above, you could use the SQL Server Management Studio in the host machine to connect the SQL Server Express R2 in Virtual PC. If you installed a default instance in Virtual PC, you could use VirtualComputerName to login the SQL
    Server database engine. If you installed a named instance in Virtual PC, you could use VirtualComputerName\InstanceName to login the SQL Server database engine.
    Thanks,
    Maggie

  • Virtual Hosting Problem - SMTP error, POP is fine

    Hi all,
    I set up my server with this domain: brandingforces.com
    Additionally I did managed it to get 9 other domains running.
    Everything is working fine, even webmail and POP.
    However, on the virtual hosted domain steinberginc.com, I do get this error:
    Cannot send message using the server mail.steinberginc.com
    Use the pop-up menu below to try a different outgoing mail server. All messages will use this server until you quit Mail or change your network settings.
    I am not sure where the problem might be since other domains are sending fine SMTP.
    I did set up all domains in SA-mail-hosting-virtual domains...... I listed them without the WWW.
    Each domain has one IP for the nameserver and 1 IP as the mailserver (in machine field)
    Can someone help me?

    my fault. old email settings on mail were still configured on port 26 instead of 25. What were the old settings from the other server.

    ANYONE HAVE ANY INFO REGARDING THIS ?

    You can find the port usage by executing opmnctl status -l from the command line. This should give you the port usage for each opmn-governed component. In a standard setup, web cache normally runs on port 7777 while Oracle HTTP Server runs on 7778. Alternatively, you can check the httpd.conf for the parameter Listen. This will give you the Oracle HTTP Server port as well.
    Did you test with the directive NameVirtualHost added?

    No entry is made on the cluster log of the destination node.
    To me this means the nodes cannot talk to each other, but I don’t know why.
    They are on the same domain.  Their server names resolve properly and they can ping eachother both by name and IP.

  • PHP "Virtual Host" Site error Using Dreamweaver

    I created a virtual host on my local machine. I am using Apache, php5, and mysql 5. I moved my "wordpress files and folders" into the root folder for my site. My htdocs looks like this;
    <VirtualHost *:80>
      ServerName localhost
      DocumentRoot "C:/Program Files/Apache Group/Apache/htdocs"
    </VirtualHost>
    <VirtualHost *:80>
      ServerName myvirtualrootfolder.com
      DocumentRoot "C:/Program Files/Apache Group/Apache/htdocs/myvirtualrootfolder"
      <Directory "C:/Program Files/Apache Group/Apache/htdocs/myvirtualrootfolder">
        Options FollowSymLinks Indexes
        Allow from all
        Order allow,deny
        AllowOverride All
      </Directory>
    </VirtualHost>
    I followed the dynamic dreamweaver setup. Next I see, "This page may have dynamically-related files that can only be discovered by the server. When I click "Discover", I'm told "my site definition isn't correct." Can anyone help me please?

    >Sorry. I just never get any help here
    Really? Doesn't look that way to me:

    Other than a post from last week, and those you just posted within the past few hours....it looks like you are getting replies.  I'm just sayin.

  • Installing 2 ssl certificate on one machine with two virtual hosts

    Hi,
    If you have a managed server in a cluster that has two virtual hosts running
    on it how can you intsall the ssl certificates for both virtual hosts, in
    the admin console.
    any help would be great!

    OK....I figured it out.
    I was able to set the IPV4 properties on the ones needing filtering to use the IP or OpenDNS as the primary DNS and my server address as the secondary and that works.
    I removed OpenDNS forwarder from the server, flushed dns on all machines and so far it's working perfectly.  The machines that are not going to be filtered just go through the server for DNS.
    Hopefully, after a while it doesn't break down!
