CF Memory Card Maximum Size

My HP Jornada 568 Pocket PC reads only 8GB of a 16GB CF memory card.  Is 8GB the maximum size this PDA will support?  Are there drivers that can be downloaded which would support a 16GB card?

Hello Aypee,
I know there are no drivers to install for your Pocket PC, especially to accept larger capacity CF cards. As I understand it, you cannot get more capacity that what you have now.
I did find a statement from a store that sells compatible products though. They claim that the PDA needs an adapter to accept CF type II cards which in turn, will allow larger capacity cards to be used.
I don't know if there is any truth to this but here is the link.
Hope it helps.

  • 6288 Memory Card file size problem...

I have a Nokia 6288 which I recently purchased as part of a contract with `Three'. It's a great phone and so I purchased and installed a 1Gb mini-sd memory card to go with it. I wanted the memory card for storing and listening to downloaded .mp3 podcasts, but I now find that I cannot copy individual files of greater than about 12 Mb to the memory. (The podcasts are typically 15 - 20 Mb each.) Why is this, and what do I need to do to overcome the problem? Help appreciated.

I was expecting you to say bluetooth. You shouldn't face this problem using a cable, very strange.
Are you sure that you are sending the file to the memory card, not the phone memory?
When you connect the phone are you given an option as to which transfer mode you want to use? If it gives you the choice try mass storage mode.
The phone will appear in windows as a drive and you can drag and drop your pod casts directly onto the memory card.Message Edited by psychomania on 10-Oct-200704:07 PM

  • Memory card maximums?

I have ordered a BlackBerry Pearl 8130 and I was wondering if there is a maximum amount of memory that can be added via the micro sd card?  I heard 8GB but I can't find any supporting documentation.  I found a 4GB card for a great price and I am hoping it will be compatible.  Any help is appreciated.

  • Maximum size for SD card for N70

    hi
can anybody please tell me the maximum size for SD card for the N70?
i only have 64MB at the moment and i want to upgrade.
    many thanks in advance.

Just to make sure you don't buy the wrong card: An "SD card" is a very specific type of a memory card. The N70 does *NOT* support SD cards, but rather a card format knows as "DV RS-MMC" (Dual Voltage Reduced Size - MultiMedia Card) or "MMCmobile".
In any case, it'll probably support any size DV RS-MMC/MMCmobile card that you can find (I think the largest available are 1GB these days, possibly 2GB).
Note that there is also a non-dual voltage version of the RS-MMC card. It won't work, so make sure your card says "Dual Voltage" or "MMCmobile".

  • Is There A Maximum Size Limit for The MicroSD Card?

    Hey all,
I'm a BB newbie.  I installed an 8GB MicroSD card.  Finally figured out that you must format the card from the device in order to get it to work.
However, in doing so, my 8GB card is only recognized as 4GB.  Is there a maximum size card that the 8300 series(I have an 8320 through T-Mobile)  will recognize or is there something strange going on with my MicroSD card???
The manual isn't clear on that.
    Thank you

Supported SD card size is OS dependant as follows:
BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.0 - Up to 2 GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.1 - Up to 4 GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.2 - Up to 4 GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.3.0 - Up to 8 GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.5.0 - Up to 8 GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.6.0 - Up to 16 GB
Note that 16 Gigs was just added to the list a few days ago! This is directly from the Tech Support Site here:

  • What size memory card goes into the PowerShot A520?

What size memory card goes into the PowerShot A520 camera?...and where can I get one?

This camera uses SD card. You can buy it from any online or local electronic store. It should not cost more than $7. But don't mistake it with SDHC card. Your camera is not compatible with SDHC card. SD card is limited at 2Gb; so the largest one you can get is 2Gb. Anything larger will be SDHC.

  • What is the biggest size of compatible memory card...

    Hi,
when I bought my E90 one year ago, I read somewhere (can't remember where) that there are problems if you use a memory card bigger then 2GB. If I remember correctly, there was a allegation that a bigger memory card would slow down the performance of the phone and would even freeze the phone from time to time.
So, what memory card do you use with your E90?
Please also mention what software you have installed, because this could be related with how it handles the additional memory!!!
I recently updated my software to version 300.34.84
Thanks in advance for your reply.

16GB cards works well but surely it slows down the phone as hell and the phone tends to hang a lot..........
also during my six days alteast twice a day my phone would refuse to recognize this card........
I tried installing my all apps on the phone memory but still the **bleep** was not repairable...........
So i wud definitely advise not to experiment with the 16 GB card rather go for 8 GB either by Toshiba, kingston or even scandisk .......
wat the hell nokia centers do also have made in Japan nokia branded 8GB cards..........

  • Maximum size for JAR files on Nokia 3120 Classic

I am trying to download and install a java app for a Nokia 3120 classic, but when installing I get an error message telling me that the file is too big at 5.7mb.
I can't find the maximum size of .jar files for this phone anywhere.
Can anyone let me know what this is and whether there is any way to get the app to work.
    Many thanks.
    Alan Watson

YES THERE IS A WAY!! I only got this information from someone else. Thanks for that person.
    Here are the steps:
    1. Download the jar file you want to install, to your computer. Now open My computer, and on the upper left corner you shall see a menu, click the "Tools" button and then click "Folder options..." A little window will appear. Click the "View" tab. On this window you need to find an option "Hide extentions for known file types" below "Advanced settings". Then unmark or uncheck the box.
    2. Now when you open my computer and go to the folder where you had downloaded the java file, the file name will read "(anyfilename).jar". HERE IS THE TRICK.
    3. Rename the last part of your file. Instead of .jar change it to .jpg so that it reads  "(anyfilename).jpg"
    4. Now copy the renamed file and paste it in your mobile's C: or Memory Card drive.
    5. Once you had pasted, rename the copied file back to what it was. i.e "(anyfilename).jar"
BASICALLY the phone limits a file with a ".jar" extention, you can fool it by renaming the extention to ".jpg" and then once the file is copied into the phones C:drive you can change the extention back to ".jar" by renaming it.
Share it. Hope it works for you! God bless...
