Error on Basic search portlet in Oracle portal

I am working on Oracle 10g portal. I uploaded lot of documents and completed indexing as per Oracle guidelines. There are some errors during indexing.Out of 5000 documents 22 are not indexed. When I try to search from a page I get this error. This problem doesn't exist in our development environent where there are only few documents loaded. I have encountered errors in this environment also during index creation.
Appreciate your help.

  • Basic Search portlet returns error when Display in New Browser Window set

    Ora AS Portal 10G release 2 (10.1.2.x)
Have a region of type Portlets.
The enable users to include content in this region is enabled.
I added a Basic Search Portlet in this region.
Basic search works fine if launched from current area, however if change attributes of region to have a link that displays item in new browzer window, then
basic search portlet opens in new browzer window but returns error "Error: You do not have permission to perform this operation. (WWC-44131)"
The Basic search portlet in the new window contains a link to advanced search. If use advanced search, results are returned.
to test further, I added a advanced search portlet to this region, also with the display option to display item in a new window. In this case, the same error is obtained when doing a search.
    Has anyone experienced this?
    Any solutions?
    Thks in advance.
    Paulo

    Hi,
Can you clarify what you mean by "change attributes of region to have a link that displays item in new browzer window"?
Are you referring to Edit Region > Attributes tab ? Which of the Available Attributes did you select?
    Thanks,
    Chris

  • Register the Oracle 9iFS Portlet with Oracle Portal

I did register the Oracle 9iFS Portlet with Oracle Portal.
But when I am adding the portlet to a portal page I get the error:
    "500 Internal Server Error"
When I am trying to access the page by url:
    http://<myserver>:7777/ifs/portlet
    I get the error:
"You are not authorized to view this page"

not a problem with BEA , just means your database has been configured to close your session after a period of inactivity(which is normal).
Check you connection pool testing settings and tune accordingly.

  • Search form  to Oracle PortalAS

    hello,
what is the best and fast practice to create a search form to oracle portal..?

If I read your requirements correct, you want end users to be able to search in data within database tables - right?
The search portlets will not help you in this case as they only search content in Oracle Portal, i.e. text items, file items etc. It will not go into the database and query tables.
If you only need to search one table, you might want to play around with a Portal report. You can personalize the report to allow end users to use conditional statements on each of the columns in your table.

  • Basic Search Portlet

    Hi
We are using the basic search portlet as the search engine within the MOHE portal page. When we search for any word which exists in a clipped html file it returns nothing.
    Regards
    Mohamed Hammed

    Hi Mohamed,
I am not sure it would work....here's why -
If you consider the archtitecture of a WebClipping Portlet, the "definition" ( basically, the MetaData) is constant / static for every instance. However, the content generated by the WebClipping Portlet - i.e, the "clipping" - is dynamic & occurs at runtime. Hence, every WebClipping Portlet "Instance" generates it's own content - however, the Basic Search Portlet can't search the content generated by this instance.
I hope I was able to articulate that to a resonably good degree. Well, a suggestion that I can think of is to develop a custom search Portlet - something that could search the HTML text after all the Portlets have been rendered. I guess you can try with a Java Servlet....

  • How to change the view of the basic search portlet

    Hi,
I want to change the view of the basic search portlet. To be more precise, I just want a text box and a Go button in it. Cananybody advise on how to do this?
    Regards,
    Priya

Indeed the 'Basic Search Box' item is what you want to use. You can choose what label you want or an icon if desired.
As mentioned in a previous reply, you need to edit the properties of the Page Group where you want to add the item and add the 'Basic Search box' to the list of available items that a user can add to the page group.
Navigator -> Properties (for the desired page group) -> Configure Tab -> Edit link in the 'Content Type and Classification' section -> Item Types section add the 'Basic Search Box'.
Now in a page in that page group, add an item, and from the list of 'Built-In Navigation Item Types' you will see the 'Basic Search Box'.

  • Oracle Aplication Server Portal 10 G - configure portlets in Oracle Portal

Hi, I was reading through the Document " ORACLE APPLICATIONS SERVER PORTAL 10G release 2 (10.1.4 - Customized Portlets with BPEL.
On page 3 it refers to chapter 20 of a document caled "BEPL 10.1.2.0.2 Developer's Guide".
I couldn't find this document. It is supposed to teach youhow to configure out-of-box portlets in Oracle Portal.
    Thanks

    Hi Sleepy,
you can find this chapter here: http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_19/integrate.1012/b14448/portal.htm#sthref3420.
How to find it? http://otn.oracle.com -> documentation -> application server -> Oracle Application Server 10g Release 2 (10.1.2.0.2) Documentation (Previous Releases section) -> View Library for B14099-11 and finally E-business Integration tab contains BPEL guides.

  • Use 11g portlet in Oracle Portal or WSRP1 in WebCenter application fails

    Hi,
I build a portlet as in the example at http://download.oracle.com/otndocs/tech/webcenter/files/owc_r11_portlet_bridge_demo.html and try to consume it from Oracle Portal. This is failing with a connection to the server failed error in the browser. I then tried to consume it in a webcenter application as wsrp2 and it works correctly. If i change to wsrp1 it fails with the same error. In the logging i see the following error:

Does this mean wsrp1 is no longer supported with 11g because of client side ajax? Would this mean that Oracle Portal consuming 11g portlets is out of the question?
    Kind Regards,
    Andre Jochems

Thank you for the clear answer. Just curious .... if Portal 11g supports wsrp 2 will it be possible to have a portlet generate events and link those in portal to page parameters which in turn can be linked to portlet input parameters as is possible with a pdk java portlet? In other words, ... can the inter portlet communication be set/edited/wired at runtime in Portal instead of design time as is the case with WebCenter?
Also if Portal 11g will have these features what is the added value of WebCenter, aside from not needing the extra infrastructure to run Portal?
While i am at it, ... how will the skin and stylesheets be handled when a 11g rich faces portlet is rendered in Portal, will it keep its nice looks? Can they be mapped to portal defined styles for portlets to adapt the style to the surrounding portal?
    Kind Regards,
    Andre Jochems

  • Problem by providing ADF portlet in Oracle Portal

    Hi,
I have created a simple ADF application with one JSF with a simple outputtext label, using Jdeveloper 11.1.1.3.
I created a portlet out of it by Create Portlet Entry and deployed it on weblogic (WL_WSRP).
Then i created a WSRP Provider on Oracle Portal 11g (11.1.1.6) with success, so I put the portlet on a page, when Portal show the page its appear a error message, like this:
Error: Could not get markup. The cookie or session is invalid or there is a runtime exception.
If I create a portlet with JSP page instead of a JSF page its works fine, another situation: when I access the JSF page directly in browser tha page works fine too.

  • Edit_defaults mode in JSR-268 portlet on Oracle Portal 11g

    Hi all!
I developed JSR-268 portlet using the wizard of JDeveloper (11.1.1.5.0).
The portlet supports the following modes:
    - view (view.jsp)
    - edit (edit.jsp)
    - edit_defaults (edit_defaults.jsp)
After deploy a portlet I can't get into the "edit_defaults" mode.
On portal page portlet title content only link to edit mode (Personalized link)
How to switch to "edit_defaults" mode?
    My portlet.xml:
    <portlet-app version="2.0" xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/portlet/portlet-app_2_0.xsd http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/portlet/portlet-app_2_0.xsd" xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/portlet/portlet-app_2_0.xsd" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">

    // Determine which action.
    if (request.getParameter (SET_EDIT_DEFAULTS_ACTION)! = null) {
