Error on Implicit conversion
Hey I have a problem to this query, yesterday function normaly, but we reboot the server and now send me this error message:
Msg 245, Level 16, State 1, Line 1
Conversion failed when converting the varchar value 'sdv' to data type int.
this is the query, i wish to know what happend.
SELECT ZKA.[CHECKTIME], ZKA.[SENSORID], ATT.[DESCRIPTION_EN], ATT.[LOCATION], ATT.[SUBTYPE], UI.[USERID], UI.[NAME], UI.[TITLE]
FROM [att3000].[dbo].[CHECKINOUT] ZKA
INNER JOIN [att3000].[dbo].[Universal_Devices] ATT
ON ZKA.[SENSORID] = ATT.[FOREIGN_ID]
INNER JOIN [att3000].[dbo].[USERINFO] UI
ON ZKA.[USERID] = UI.[USERID]
WHERE ZKA.[CHECKTIME] BETWEEN '2014-06-06 00:00:00.000' AND '2014-06-06 23:59:59.999'
AND UI.[SSN] = 890 --
AND ATT.[SUBTYPE] <> 4
ORDER BY ZKA.[CHECKTIME] ASC
Check whether one of the following attributes contain a non integer value as implicit conversion is happening here:
--AND UI.[SSN] = 890 --
..AND ATT.[SUBTYPE] <> 4
SELECT *
FROM [att3000].[dbo].[USERINFO]
WHERE ISNUMERIC([SSN]) = 0
SELECT *
FROM [att3000].[dbo].[Universal_Devices]
WHERE ISNUMERIC([SUBTYPE]) = 0
For a quick check if thee and not the joined columns are the problem, you can also quote the values to be a string instead of a numeric value instead.
AND UI.[SSN] = '890' --
AND ATT.[SUBTYPE] <> '4'
Be aware that ISNUMERIC is not fully checking if the values are only [0-9] or of data types numeric as mentioned here:

ORA-01722: invalid number - Error during implicit conversion (10g vls 11g)
I am facing oracle error for few SELECT queries in 11g which were working fine in 10g environment.
Oracle Version:
10g - 10.2.0.5.0
11g - 11.2.0.3.0
We are storing numeric values under CHAR or VARCHAR2 column in few tables. This is known design issue & it can't be changed for now.
I know this will work fine until all the data is numeric in those columns for respective table. Because by some reason, if any row got character value for that column then implicit string to number conversion will fail and this error can occur. But I have verified that there is no data issue.
But I can see difference in the execution plan! But not able to recognize the reason issue.
Any other pointers on why the queries are failing in 11g would be of great help..
Example SQL:
Note that table structure and data is same in both the environments.

SELECT * FROM LC_LOCATIONS WHERE productid = '75';The problem doesn't appear to be related to the Oracle version, at least not directly. If your query plan does the string to number conversion before eliminating the rows that have non-numeric data, you'll get an error. If the query plan eliminates the rows that have non-numeric data before doing the conversion, the query will succeed. It is entirely possible that you'd get the "bad" plan in 10g or the "good" plan in 11g.
You can capture the query plans from your 10g database and move them over to the 11g database. Oracle has a nice white paper on upgrading from 10g to 11g that walks you through that process.
Of course, you really don't want to be dependent on the optimizer picking the "right" plan, you really want to fix the underlying data model issue.

Implicit Conversion from data type sql_variant to datetime is not allowed.
Getting a odd error. This code was working perfectly before a SQLServer upgrade.
The linked database is working, I'm able to pull up data from it in separate queries just fine.
I'm getting the following error.
Implicit conversion from data type sql_variant to datetime is not allowed. Use the CONVERT function to run this query.
Invalid column name 'TotalDay'. (.Net SqlClient Data Provider)
can anyone spot the issue? I've tried sever variations of the same code, but still get the same thing.
If I put this section in a query by it self it works just fine.
( DATEDIFF(ss,
CONVERT(VARCHAR(10),( SELECT TOP ( 1 )

It is not a good idea to use string dates for predicates in WHERE clauses.
Use DATETIME or DATE in predicates.
If you are not interested in the time part of DATETIME, use DATE datatype.
Example:
SELECT CONVERT(DATE, getdate());
-- 2014-08-25

Why does this not work? rrrrrrrrrrrrrr! BTW: also tried with

10 Q
Duration as a timestamp? How odd, most people would store it
as an integer. Or, if you want to build your own string, the syntax
is {ts 'yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm:ss'}. The seconds might not be required.
In any event, use createodbcdatetime() for the value you want
to put into your table. -

now in the first case i have passed a string and that got converted into a date
but in the second case i am trying to add one day to the entered date it is not getting converted in the second case.
when actually is implicit conversion done.
thanks and regards,
sri ram.I'd like to recommand you NEVER to rely on IMPLICIT conversion. It depends on the NLS_DATE_FORMAT parameter. If you supply a VARCHAR that can be converted to a date, it will use this default format to try and convert the date. But this can result of weird result if you don't know what is the NLS_DATE_FORMAT ;-)
So, as an advice, always pass DATE to function that accept dates by converting them yourself (TO_DATE(a_date, 'the format you want')...

I am having an issue on hub transport servers running Exchange 2010 SP3 RU6.
Where some journaled meeting request related messages (acceptances, etc.) get stuck in the Submission queue.
The error is:
400 4.4.7 The server responded with: 550 5.6.0 M2MCVT.StorageError; storage error in content conversion. The failure was replaced by a retry response because the message was marked for retry if rejected.
I raised the issue with our mail archiving vendor and they indicated this was an Exchange Server problem which should have been fixed in Exchange 2010 SP3 RU3, however we are running SP3 RU6 and the issue continues to occur.
I realize that we could just delete the stuck messages from queue but has anyone run in to this before and know how to prevent it from happening?
Thank You.Hi Mike,
If you temporary disable\bypass third party Archiving , then what happens in the Queue.
Thanks , Prakash

Thank you.Good afternoon,
If you have not done so already can you apply the SAP note 1387854 in your system and it should prevent the problem from happening again. If you also reactivate the infoobject 0INCOTERMS2 in RSD1 then it should be possible to manually activate the transfer rule.

I recently subscribed to Adobe ExportPDF and tried to convert a PDF file to MS Word. So far, after many tries, I get soe type of error and the conversion fails. Please advise?
Hi there,
It sounds like there may be an issue with the quality of the PDF. Not all PDFs are created equal, and especially those created from scanned documents can be problematic if the scan quality isn't the best. Is there a dark background on the PDF, or stray marks or smudges?
You can try converting with OCR disabled at outlined in this document: How to disable Optical Character Recognition (O... | Adobe Community. But, while that's a good test to find out where the problem lies, you'll end up with a Word document that isn't editable, so it's not an optimal solution.
Please let us know how it goes.

In this case user is getting created in OIM but LDAP Synch is not happening we are getting the error as mentioned above.
When we create user in OIM not through Web Serives but through Identity Self Service and provide any date attribute for example Start Date,Provisoning Date, Deprovisoning Date or any other date attribute, then also we are geeting the same error of Error in attribute conversion operation Issue, in this case user is not getting created in OIM and LDAP Synch is not happening.
And when we create a user in OIM not through Web Serives but through Identity Self Service and did not give any of the date attribute then user is getting created and LDAP synch is also happening successfully.
We need to create users through Web Services and we need to resolve this issue asap, request you all to provide any helpful pointer on this.
Thanks
VarshaThis can happen due to OIM-LDAP wrong attribute mapping/value getting passed.
Can you please first try with OOTB attributes and see how it behaves?

Error:1067 - Implicit coercion of a value of type QName to an unrelated type QName
hi,
I'm new in flex and my english not good. I'll try to explain
my problem :(
I have an application mxml and a component mxml. I imported a
wsdl from .net webservice.
In main mxml I added:
<mx:Application .....
xmlns:webservices="generated.webservices.*"/>
and
<webservices:xService id="m_service"/>
there is no problem for this. But when I added into component
mxml like this:
<mx:Canvas.....
xmlns:webservices2="generated.webservices.*"/>
and
<webservices2:xService id="m_service2"/>
I'm getting the following error:
error line sample: (and 633 similar lines in
generated.webservices)
responseMessage.wrappedQName = new QName("
http://tempuri.org/","GetMemberListResponse");
error:
1067: Implicit coercion of a value of type QName to an
unrelated type QName
When I removed the <webservices2:xService
id="m_service2"/> line from component mxml, I'm not getting an
error.
Flex 3.0 - sdk 4.0
Thanx for your helpsthanx your answer,
I changed (like this:[WebService(Namespace = "
http://Info.WebService/MyInfoService"))
but it doesn't work. I still have same problem.
It's really strange problem. When I used in application mxml,
it's working. But when I used in component mxml, I'm getting error.
I tested the web servise in other test application mxml with
following code: (it's working excellent)
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<mx:Application xmlns:mx="
http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml"
layout="absolute" xmlns:webservices="generated.webservices.*"
creationComplete="test12()">
<mx:Script>
<![CDATA[
import mx.rpc.AsyncToken;
private function test12():void
m_service12.addgetFuelList_header(GetAuthHeader());
m_service12.getFuelList();
]]>
</mx:Script>
<mx:Script source="***/ServiceAuthHeaderGetter.as"/>
<webservices:TankInfoService id="m_service12"/>
<mx:DataGrid
dataProvider="{m_service12.getFuelList_lastResult}">
</mx:DataGrid>
</mx:Application>
And finally I closed "Enable strict type checking" from
project properties and the errors are disappeared.
But now I got new problems with webservice :)
TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of
a null object reference.
I guess <webservices:TankInfoService id="m_service"/>
is null.
But why?
in component mxml
I added xmlns:webservices="generated.webservices.*" namespace
and
<webservices:TankInfoService id="m_service"/>
my code is:
m_service.addgetMemberList_header(GetAuthHeader());
m_service.getMemberByUserPassword(this.txtUser.text,
this.txtPassword.text);
the error:
TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method
of a null object reference.
Any ideas??? -
Error during Unicode Conversion at DDNTF table
Hello
We are doing a Unicode Conversion for our CRT systems. This system now
is a SAP CRM 7.0 SR1 ABAP.
We have performed preparatory steps (SPUMG, checks, updating R3load,
R3ldctl, R3szchk, dboralib, ...),
but when we start Import process we get an error in SAPSDIC package.
The error looks like:
*************************+
(RTF) ########## WARNING ###########
Without ORDER BY PRIMARY KEY the exported data may be unusable
for some databases
(EXP) INFO: table DDNTF will be exported with sorting
(RSCP) ERROR: 'DDNTF' in UMGCCTL: Guess has illegal value.
(RSCP) WARN: DDNTF: Missing in UMGSTAT,

conversion of nametab table 'DDNTF ':

/usr/sap/CRT/SYS/exe/run/R3load: END OF LOG: 20091229193651
Any idea??
Thanks in advance
RegardsYes I executed this Report using Menu Tool Bar.
The first execution gave me some errors regarding some tables existing at database level but not in DDIC. We ignored this errrors because those tables are not important.
But the last try, we decided solve this inconsistencies deleteting those tables at database level, repeting report RADUCNT (in this case no errors appeared) and repeting the export with the same error..
Now, we have seen in Tabscript STATUS of SPUMG there are some errors regarding DDNTF inconsistency found at table control. Reason 4. But this reason means that faillback codepage missing at table control for this table. But as far I know, I can't fill failbak field for this kind of table...
So know I'm reseting SPUMG, and reestarting again..
But I don't understand what is the problem
In a few minutes I will you inform about results
Meanwhile is anybody have any suggestion or idea... please let me know

Why index is not used if oracle have to do implicit conversion?
my db version: 10gR2
I created bitmap index on each of the column used in below sql.
the datatype of all three columns are VARCHAR2,
while i am using NUMBER in the query, which means oracle needs to do the implicit conversion before running the sql.
the problem is that, when I use NUMBER as below, execution plan will not use bitmap indexes at all.
but when I use STRING instead, it will make use of those bitmap indexes.
select FI_YTD,1,2,FI_KPI_ID
from DM_F_FI_ALL_KPI
where
FI_KPI_ID=4140
and FI_PERIOD=201012
and FI_ORG_ID=10000000;So, I wonder why? how the implicit conversion affects the access path?

Implicit conversion in Oracle is always done like this
empno='10'
is rewritten as
to_char(empno)='10'
Now you have <function>(<indexed columnn>) = <hardcoded literal>
Oracle never puts a conversion function at the right hand side of the expresssion. NEVER.
