Error on running a windows xp based .VI in windows 7

Hello; I am a new user of labview. I want to use a .VI that properly works in windows xp. But when I run
this .VI in windows 7, this error at port 32 is displayed.
Error: -4850 Occured at In port 32.Vi
This .VI is a driver for a hardware that controls some laboratory instruments. Also my labview version is 10.0 32bit (2010) and my os is windows 7 ultimate copy right 2009 service pack1 ).

Hi mehrmoh,
Port-commands aren't supported for "newer" OS. So you have two options:
- use a more up-to-date device driver
- stick with an old and obsolete OS to support your device
So either stick with WinXP and LV2010, when your device runs with that setting!
That's not a fault of LabVIEW, it's originated in the security system of the OS. No software (except OS kernel) is allowed to directly access hardware (as is done with Port commands). You have to live with the requirements/enforcements of the OS!

TNS-12560 error when running as Windows Service

Hello,
I created a VB.NET application that connects to a Oracle database using DbProviderFactory and ODP.NET for .Net Framework 2.0. This application runs on XP, I need it to run as Windows Service, but every time it try to connect to the database throw the Oracle exception TNS-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error, the weird thing is the same application running as a Console Application it works (Same code, same connection string, same query). It was using ODP.NET 10 I updated the provider to 11 still got the same error. The service is running user Local System account, and it has the same problem running under other adm account.
Following is error in the sqlnet.log (PS: The file was under the system32 folder, probably because was running as a service):

I don't know :^(
There could be many reasons: differences in the environment, missing permissions, virus scanners, you name it.
Is it running under the same user as on the console?
I suspect that the error code will give a hint where the problem is, but I could not find any documentation what this code means.
You could try to run an Orace Net trace - maybe you get an idea if you see where in the connection process the problem occurs.

Crystal Reports 2008 runtime error while running on Windows Server X64

I have a .NET web application compiled as X86 in Visual Studio 2008 invoking Crystal Reports 2008 SP2 that's running fine at a number of sites running Windows Server 2003 X86.</br>

When deploying this app to Windows Server 2008 X64 I get the error message below. </br>

I'm aware that there is an unanswered question similar to this already in the forum but my application is compiled for X86 and I've tryed installing a variety of run times including "crruntime_12_2_mlb.msi" and "crredist2008_x86.msi".</br>

Error when running any kind of adobe based webdynpro application

I dont get this error for other kinds of web dynpro application, but whenever I deploy an adobe based application, I get the following error on running it.
My Portal is NW04S SP9.
I have a very simple adobe application and atleast the initial page should come up.

NWDS with Adobe lifecycle designer
Adobe installed
Adobe document services configured in J2ee engine
Apart from that check whether you have the context structure and its properties same as that given in the example
I had faced a problem because of that...
pdfsource should be binary
and there should b a attribute for the value node

You can use bootcamp to install windows natively on the hard drive. You then choose which OS you wish to use at startup - OS X or Windows.
You can also install Windows in a virtual machine - Parallels or VMWare Fusion - and run it simultaneously with OS X (a virtual machine is just a PC emulated in software, and you install and run windows in the emulated machine hardware).

TS5376 I have a laptop that i am running with Windows Vista. A while ago, it stopped running iTunes and comes up with the error : Runtime Error: R6034 - An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly.

I have an iMac as my home computer, upgraded to this about a year ago from a windows pc and love it.
However...
I have a HP Compaq laptop that i am running with Windows Vista, which I use when travelling. A while ago, I believe on an update, to either windows or itunes, it stopped running iTunes and comes up with the error : Runtime Error: R6034 - An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly.
I have a reasonable amount of tunes stored on my laptop, and am unable to ascertain as to whether this fix for allowing itunes to work again will delete my music folder and lose all the tunes i have on my laptop already?
The contents of my music folders on my laptop and iMac are not the same, as they are not synced!
Any help please on this would be appreciated!

Can't open Thunderbird..icud+52.dll is either not designed to run on windows or contains error. extra error msg can't ld xpcom

having lots of problems with TB lately but until today it worked itself out somehow....now today I- can't open it. suddenly after being prompted to update TB I get error messages. 'program files(x86) Mozilla/Thunderbird/ icud+52.dll is either not designed to run on windows or contains error. install again or contact software vendor' then after I click that away get another one 'cannot load xpcom' . I am not very tech savvy with computers but have tried every reasonable thing I trust myself doing. I thought it might have to do with a an outdated Firefox so reinstalled that. I have searched high and low on how to uninstall TB and reinstall again WITHOUT losing any emails...,but none of the answers I found on this question are clear about this so I don't dare to do it yet. I don't have my pop address emails redirected anywhere else (not to webmail) so only access them via TB on my computer. How can I solve this without losing ALL my existing emails and email folders?

I have a look at my own Windows 8.1 machine, the sqmapi.dll in 'C:\Program Files
(x86)\Windows Portable Devices' is 217KB and in “C:\Program Files \Windows Portable Devices” is 272KB.
If you want to make a modification to the files, it is recommended to make a restore point and backup the important data to reduce the risk of unexpected error.

The SqmApi.dll is a part of system ,we don`t recommend to try to repair it with a thirty party software. We cannot verify the safety of the software.

DonPick, to ensure the safety of the whole system .It is recommended to have a full scan of the whole system.

Since trying to install the latest version of ITunes I have not been able to get it to launch at all! I get a message that says " C:Programme files\common files\Apple\Apple Push service.dll is either not designed to run on windows or contains an error. "

Please help! After I click ok on the error message above I get another message box that says "ITunes not installed Error 7 (Windows error 193)
I have uninstalled it and re-installed it, I have rsn the repair ITunes, I have re doqnloaded Quicktime- nothing will work

Your response addressed how to fix this issue with earlier windows operating systems, but not for windows 8, so what ended up working for me was your advice applied a little differently. For anyone running windows 8 needing to know how to resolve this issue by repairing the Apple Application Support program, try following these simple steps - what a relief it was to have itunes working again after applying b noir's answer to the windows 8 operating system!
1. Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, tap Settings, and then tap Control Panel.
(If you're using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer up, click Settings, and then click Control Panel.)
2. Click the Programs and Features icon.
3. In the list of programs and features, find the Apple Application Support feature and click to select it.
4. In the gray title bar above it, click Repair.
5. Approve the window prompts that follow until the repair has been completed.
6. Relaunch iTunes.

I have searched my computer for that file SQlite3.dll and also file QTCF.dll and I cannot find either one when I search my whole computer for it. I cannot fix this! I deleted Itunes and every time I try to download it, it goes through all this download till the end when it says that iTunes.exe-entry point now found and that Procedure entry point message comes up. Getting windows error during running the sql scripts from form 6i

I made a little form application. The purpose of this application is to generate explain plan for a particular SQL. Some sql scripts run internally in order to populate the result on forms screen after pressing the forms button but I am getting windows error during running the sql scripts from form 6i.
I am using forms 6i with patch 17 with Oracle 10G database on windows 2000 professional on same computer.
This application runs fine with 8i.
Please inform me where the problem is and how to overcome it.
