Error! Oracle Database Adapter Ignoring Spaces

I have a custom sql which concats values -
select firstName||' '||lastName from person;
It works in SQL Developer but not with the DB Adapter. Is there a way to tell the adapter to accept whitespaces?

So I realized that the Audit Flow does not show the exact representation of the database output variable, but when written to a file the spaces are present.

  • Oracle database Adapter starts up even before the BPEL services & errors

    Here is the scenario:
    We have an Oracle database adapter in an ESB service polling a table & then invokes a BPEL service.
    During startup, the database adapter is loaded first & polls data & immediately invokes the BPEL which is not even loaded still & errors.
    Is there a way to avoid this.
    Any help would be great.

    All three of your errors seem to be pointing to a configuration gap between
    * the JNDI name used by the SOA composite to obtain a JCA connection in the soa-infra engine
    * the ConnectionFactory configuration used by the DbAdapter process that then connects to the JDBC connection pool managed by the WebLogic server
    * the actual JDBC connection from WebLogic to your database
    You've indicated the JDBC connection layer from WebLogic to the database has been verified so the following things should be checked:
    * access the WebLogic console of your domain and verify the DbAdapter application is deployed and active on the server hosting your soa-infa SOA engine
    * click on the DbAdapter entry and go to the Configuration tab and the Outbound Connections sub-tab
    * expand the tree under javax.resource.cci.ConnectionFactory and verify your JNDI name within the SOA composite is listed (it probably looks something like eis/db/yourdbname)
    * click on that JDNI name and verify on the subsequent screen that the JDBC connection pool name is present under dataSourceName or xADataSourceName
    * verify your SOA composite is using eis/db/yourdbname as the reference in its database service --- it CANNOT use the JDNI name of the JDBC connection pool managed by WebLogic cuz composites run inside the soa-infra engine which uses JCA connections to get out of the soa-infra engine to the rest of the world
    Hope that helps

    hi Sudeep,
    We are at first hand struggling with DB adapter problem getting down everytime. Don't know the reason why.
    DB adapter is in down state and when trying to make it up gives below error:
    "weblogic.application.ModuleException: weblogic.connector.exception.RAException: Jndi Name is null or empty."
    I just created a simple sync process using DB adapter (custom select) and deplyed successfully. I hope jndi name is not to be configured in weblogic-ra.xml file.
    This is the first time we are using this JNDI name (eis/DB/calvindb).
    Any inputs will be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Nikhil

  • Error with Database adapter

    Can anyone help me out to fix this error.
    Thanks in advance.

    From the error it is clear that your composite is not able to find the DB jndi.The JCA Binding Component is unable to startup the Resource Adapter specified in the <connection-factory/> element: location='eis/DB/DB_Conn'.
    Please follow these steps:
    1) Have u created DB jndi eis/DB/DB_Conn that you are using on weblogic console.
    2) After creating did you redeploy the DB adapter on weblogic console.
    3) If you have done above 2 steps cross check your jndi exists in ur DB adapter or not on weblogic console.
    That could only be the possible reasons for the error you are getting.
    Hope this helps.

  • ODI topology connection error - oracle database

    Hi,
    I'm trying to connect to oracle database installed on a remote server through odi client installed on my windows machine. Oracle db is on RHEL 64 bit, I believe. I know the connection details such as hostname, sid etc but i'm not able to establish a connection using the oracle jdbc driver. I can perfectly connect to the db via sqldeveloper using tnsnames and also basic connection which rules out the possibility that i might be giving incorrect SID name in ODI connection since I'm using the same details for both

    tnsping works fine. To solve the problem, I changed my JDBC connection string to another format which uses connect description with service name and that solved the problem. This is what I used.

    Try also adding:

    I assume you are using a domain account and not one that is local to the box being monitored, correct?
    Also, in OEM, go to Preferences...Preferred Credentials and enter the user name and password that you are using for the Normal Username and Normal Password and then click test. If this works, you should be good to go.

  • Installation error - Oracle Database 10g Express Edition

    Hi - I've just tried to install Oracle Database 10g Express Edition from the Oracle website and I'm getting this error.
    Error 1327 Invalid Drive: I:\ . I've googled the error but can't find much. It seems that the path is hardcoded into the msi installation package.
    Anyone else seen this issue before as I'm at a loss at what to do ?
    I'm wondering do I have to create an I:\ drive on my machine but that seems a little unusual
    Hope someone can help
    Cheers.

    This problem may occur if you have used the Disk Administrator utility included in Microsoft Windows to change the drive letter of the hard disk that the operating system is installed on, for example, the C drive.
    The problem occurs because the Oracle Universal Installer uses registry keys to determine the locations of certain folders that are required to install Oracle. If the drive letter of the hard disk that contains the operating system has been changed, the registry keys refer to nonexistent folders and Setup fails.
    To correct this problem, use the Windows Disk Administrator program to restore the drive letter of the hard disk to its original value:
    1. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and click Disk Administrator.
    2. Right-click the drive whose letter you want to change. On the shortcut menu, click Assign Drive Letter.
    3. Select the correct drive letter from the list and click OK.
    If you are prompted to quit the Disk Administrator or to restart your computer, do so. Once the computer has restarted, attempt to install again.

    I have tied reverting the shell limits back to the default with no change in the results.
    However I am having some trouble with the projmod command, my projid for the oracle user is “default” not “group.dba” and when I set the system parameters the #cat /etc/project returns the following:
    system:0::::
    user.root:1::::
    noproject:2::::
    default:3::::project.max-shm-memory=(priviledge,2147483648,deny)
    group.staff:10::::
    When I check the values they are all right except for the projid… do you think this will cause a problem?
    Also I have attempted to edit my shell startup file as per setup documentation however I cannot open /usr/sh with a text editor am I trying to edit the wrong file? I searched for .profile and could only find setup.profile because of this I cannot set the unmask value to 022.
    I am also having issues running xclock wail signed in as the oracle user I have the DISPLAY variable set properly and I can access xclock wail logged into the root user. The installer checks the monitor’s ability to run at the minimum 256 colors using xdpyinfo and returns an error saying that my DISPLAY variable may be set wrong… xdpyinfo runs fine wail logged onto the root user. I think fixing this problem may help a lot.

  • Oracle database Adapter polling in OSB Cluster

    Hi,
    I have OSB 11g with two nodes. I have a database adapter that polls a table after every 30 seconds and perform logical delete on the rows read. I came across interesting situation. When one node is up and PollingInterval=30, it works okay and polling is done right after 30 seconds but when both nodes are up the PollingInterval property doesnt work as expected.
    First node will poll after 24 seconds and then second node will again poll after 6 seconds (node1+node2=30 seconds in total).
    and After i restart the servers the first node is polling at 18 sec and second node is polling at 12 sec (node1 +node2=30 sec), so different polling intervals.
    How does it determines the first server should poll at 24 or 18 sec and second node should poll at 6 or 12 sec?
    I would like to know is there any property or configuration required to poll the table for each node for every 15 seconds (node1(15sec)+node2(15sec)=30 sec)?
    Please help me, It is very urgent?
    Thanks
    Rajesh.

  • ORACLE DATABASE SPACE USAGE report not showing all databases in 11g

    Hi All,
    I have scheduled "Oracle Database Space Usage (Group)" report for all databases available in the OEM11g. But in the report i am not able to see all the databases in the group. Can any one please help on this.
    Regards,

    We had the same problem in 12c EM. This had to something with "tablespace allocation metric". This metric was disabled for some databases. This could be your case in 11g also. This metalink note might worth seeing .
