Hi
Checklist
1) Create DataSource
2) Connection Pool in the DB Adapter(with jndi eis/DB/XE_DB)
Edit the default connection pool created and point the xaDataSource or Datasource to jndi of datasource created in step1

    hi Sudeep,
    We are at first hand struggling with DB adapter problem getting down everytime. Don't know the reason why.
    DB adapter is in down state and when trying to make it up gives below error:
    "weblogic.application.ModuleException: weblogic.connector.exception.RAException: Jndi Name is null or empty."
    I just created a simple sync process using DB adapter (custom select) and deplyed successfully. I hope jndi name is not to be configured in weblogic-ra.xml file.
    This is the first time we are using this JNDI name (eis/DB/calvindb).
    Any inputs will be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Nikhil

    The error happened two days after a release. It was the first invocation of the service

    There was no database shutdown, only a restart of the application server

    Do you have more information on errors like this one?

    Hi,
    To use the ServiceControl you need to be in a container that supports controls. This is what will instantiate your control for you, and take care of the some of the services controls require.
    So to use the ServiceControl you'll need to invoke it from another web service, a page flow, or another control.
    If you need to invoke from a standard main program, one option would be to use a standard WLS JAX-RPC client. This can be generated with their <clientgen> ant task.
    Hope this helps.

  • Error with Database adapter

              Hi All,
    I am using a database adapter to write values to database.The build was successful.However when i test it in the console with the sameple input I am getting the below error.

    Can anyone help me out to fix this error.
    Thanks in advance.

    From the error it is clear that your composite is not able to find the DB jndi.The JCA Binding Component is unable to startup the Resource Adapter specified in the <connection-factory/> element: location='eis/DB/DB_Conn'.
    Please follow these steps:
    1) Have u created DB jndi eis/DB/DB_Conn that you are using on weblogic console.
    2) After creating did you redeploy the DB adapter on weblogic console.
    3) If you have done above 2 steps cross check your jndi exists in ur DB adapter or not on weblogic console.
    That could only be the possible reasons for the error you are getting.
    Hope this helps.

  • Error while invoking custom API using Database Adapter

    Hi,
    I've a requirement where in I need to fetch the data returned by a recordtype of a custom API. I've implemented this by invoking the custom API using Database Adapter. I'm facing a problem while performing this.
    The custom API holds the signature as:
    PROCEDURE EMP_DET
    Argument Name Type      In/Out Default?
    P_DEPTNO NUMBER IN
    L_LINE_TBL TABLE OF RECORD OUT
    I've a schema with which it needs to be validated. It looks like:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="no"?>
    <schema xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:po="http://www.mycompany.com/ns/sales" targetNamespace="http://www.mycompany.com/ns/sales" elementFormDefault="qualified">

    </complexType>
    </element>
    </schema>
    I did a transformation to the above stated Emp.xsd with the xsd created for my custom API by the BPEL process. I could create the process and deploy successfully, but while invoking I get the following error. (I'm using BPM 10.1.3.1 with JDev 10.1.3.1)

    Issue with DB Adapter - ORABPEL-11811

  • Thread: Error at the time of Invoke a Database Adapter

    I got the following error when I invoke a task in service process which contains database adapter.

    The JCA Binding Component is unable to startup the Resource Adapter specified in the <connection-factory/> element: location='eis/DB/localDB'.
    The reason for this is most likely that either
    1) the Resource Adapters RAR file has not been deployed successfully to the WebLogic Application server or
    2) the '<jndi-name>' element in weblogic-ra.xml has not been set to eis/DB/localDB. In the last case you will have to add a new WebLogic JCA connection factory (deploy a RAR).

    Do I miss anything need to do on the weblogic?
    The steps that I did to deploy are just click the deploy function on Jdeveloper and following the wizard to deploy to the weblogic application server.
    Please help, I am so depressed about it.

    I guess it is #2, which means you need to create a Weblogic JDBC data source and also a connection pool. There are instructions to do this quickly in the Setup Instructions doc here:
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/soasuite/bpm-11g-sales-quote-demo-setup-and--131283.zip
    Hope this helps you out of your depression :-)

    The retrieved data is correct. The Database Adapter is pointing to an AS/400 table which does not have primary keys defined. In the offline database, I've defined CGVMSTCST to be the primary key.
    The toplink_mappings.xml reflects that:
    <opm:alias>Cstcgvmp</opm:alias>
    <opm:primary-key>
    <opm:field table="CSTCGVMP" name="CGVMSTCST" xsi:type="opm:column"/>
    </opm:primary-key>
    The value of this field for 3M is 101 (which was correctly picked up).
    Why am I getting a primary key is null error?

    I did, but I'm not sure how.
    I deleted the Database Adapter and the associated offline file and reran the wizard (having a better idea of how to implement a parameter search) and it worked.
    I was not able to identify what was created differently the second time.

  • OSB Error using Database JCA Adapter

    I had a project working with a business service in OSB using JCA Adapter Service, after i inactivated the datasource to do unit case testing, the following error started appearing. I have recreated the datasource, the database adapter config and the have reinstalled the database adapter with no luck, the same error keeps showing: java.lang.IllegalStateException: Cause already initialized
    have changed the <java:alsb-jca-framework-adapter-debug>true</java:alsb-jca-framework-adapter-debug> in alsbdebug.xml file but the onlly trace shown in the log is:

    Generally when you delete the data source, you will need to restart the server. I ran into a similar issue (but not the exact error) when I deleted a data source and was trying to create another with the same name without a restart. The issues got resolved once I restarted the server after the deletion of the data source and then recreated the data source after restart .
    The com.bea.wli.sb.transports.jca.JCATransportException: oracle.tip.adapter.sa.api.JCABindingException: java.lang.IllegalStateException: Cause already initialized might be due to the same reason.
    Can you do this and see it resolves your issue?
    Thanks,
    Patrick

  • Oracle database Adapter starts up even before the BPEL services & errors

    Here is the scenario:
    We have an Oracle database adapter in an ESB service polling a table & then invokes a BPEL service.
    During startup, the database adapter is loaded first & polls data & immediately invokes the BPEL which is not even loaded still & errors.
    Is there a way to avoid this.
    Any help would be great.

    All three of your errors seem to be pointing to a configuration gap between
    * the JNDI name used by the SOA composite to obtain a JCA connection in the soa-infra engine
    * the ConnectionFactory configuration used by the DbAdapter process that then connects to the JDBC connection pool managed by the WebLogic server
    * the actual JDBC connection from WebLogic to your database
    You've indicated the JDBC connection layer from WebLogic to the database has been verified so the following things should be checked:
    * access the WebLogic console of your domain and verify the DbAdapter application is deployed and active on the server hosting your soa-infa SOA engine
    * click on the DbAdapter entry and go to the Configuration tab and the Outbound Connections sub-tab
    * expand the tree under javax.resource.cci.ConnectionFactory and verify your JNDI name within the SOA composite is listed (it probably looks something like eis/db/yourdbname)
    * click on that JDNI name and verify on the subsequent screen that the JDBC connection pool name is present under dataSourceName or xADataSourceName
    * verify your SOA composite is using eis/db/yourdbname as the reference in its database service --- it CANNOT use the JDNI name of the JDBC connection pool managed by WebLogic cuz composites run inside the soa-infra engine which uses JCA connections to get out of the soa-infra engine to the rest of the world
    Hope that helps

  • Database adapter not returning error immediately in table space error.

    Hi,
    In my BPEL process I have an invoke activity to call Database adapter for a PL/SQL procedure invocation.
    The adapter received TABLESPACE error. The wiered thing is the error response we got after 3 hours? I am expecting immediately.
    How do I need to configure this?
    Here is more about my process.
    My BPEL process is an asynchronous process. Before and after the database adapter call I have a java embeded activity with checkpoint();
    retryIntervalValue is 60.
    Is there any thing I have to specify? Why it is taking 3 hours? is there a way to reduce this?
    -- Khaleel

    Hi. Is this still a problem or is it solved? As far as I know how BPEL works this can not really take 3 hours before erroring. You are the one that knows the application best so you can check some things. Maybe the time reported is from the database machine on which time is set different from BPEL machine? What database are you using? Is it Oracle? I guess so. What version? I assume the BPEL repository is in different database from DB Adapter? Can you confirm that checkpoint() is really done? What error is exactly thrown from DB Adapter? How does your BPEL process start? Is it adapter-driven and is the process XA-Transacted? In that case the whole process could be in retry for a longer period of time.

    Check whether dbadapter application is deployed on the Weblogic. If it is already deployed, then update it once and try again.

    Regards
    Raju

    Hi Raju,
    Looking at the error your DBOutbound.wsdl has [location="eis/MyDBConnection"] although the sample shipped has [location="eis/DB/BPELSamples"]. So, I am guessing you have either modified the sample manually, or you may have rerun the db adapter wizard which could have caused this change. So, you could fix this in one of the following ways:
    1. Start with a fresh sample and follow the instructions to the dot
    2. Go ahead and define an entry in oc4j-ra.xml for eis/MyDBConnection with the appropriate connection parameters
    3. Currently, when the jndi name is not defined in the oc4j-ra.xml, the runtime tries to work with the design time connection information which is captured in the DBOutbound.wsdl. In your case, this doesn't seem to work for either of the following reasons: your runtime connection is different from design time connection, or else the design time connection info is not valid for the runtime assuming it is running on different m/c. I could pinpoint what is wrong if I had access to the DBOutbound.wsdl file.
    Couple of other best practices while we are on this issue:
    - the location attribute which ties the design time and runtime together follows a convention so that we don't have to make sure that it is unique across all of the various adapters: to help out on this front, we follow the convention of eis/<AdapterAbbrev>/<connectionName>. So, I'd change yours to eis/DB/MyDBConnection. By default the wizard generates locations using this convention although it is hand-editable.
    - from another error message below "file:/D:/OraBPELPM/integration/jdev/jdev/myWork/File2Table/DBOutbound.wsdl [" I get the feeling that you are copying the sample elsewhere. Is there a need to do that ? You could just add the jdev project (.jpr) for this sample to any existing jdev workspace and you should be able to deploy from there w/o making any changes. This approach would be preferable and would have helped you from running into the set of issues that you are seeing.
    Let me know if the above makes sense.
    Cheers,
    Shashi

    where 6014 is actually the value i am filling in input_number field. The issue is that if i create new application and using the same db adapter it is working, but for some reason it is giving me this error for the current application.
    I'm using the same DB connection for calling other procedures and they are working with the same application.
    Any help will be appreciated! Thanks in advance!
    The problem was in the DB Adapter. After re-deploying it and delete/create data source it is working correctly now.
