but when i tried to install some more fonts now, i get the error: an error has occurred!
any idea!
i have installes and reistall, i have done format, i have installes a full adobe suite, but i always have problems!

We have heard this issue on some customers machine after 17.1 update.
The only solution for this was to uninstall Ai and reinstall. If you install directly 2014 release then issue won't be there.

PROBLEM
Just last night, I went to load Illustrator CS4 and it loaded just fine. I went to open up an Illustrator file that I have been working on and it came up with the error "An unknown error has occured." The error popped up twice and I pressed my only option, OK. The file didn't open. Usually I can open the .AI files or at least import them into Photoshop and now Photoshop just freezes and closes itself when I attempt to import an Illustrator file. Now, I tried to open a new document in Illustrator. Before I could type in my specs for the project, Illustrator came up with an error "Illustrator cannot create document. Command cancelled." Out of curiosity, I went to see if the rest of my Adobe products were working. They were all fine, aside from the Illustrator-realted Photoshop issue.
I decided to re-install Illustrator. I uninstalled it just fine and then installation went successfully. However, now Illustrator will flat out not load, period. It comes up with an error: "Missing Plug-In Required. PDFFormat.aip missing." I have conducted many searches since then to find out what the issue is and I have come up with nothing. My thinking is that my version of Vista is not compatible, but that wouldn't explain why it ran flawlessly for three months before now.
As a result, all of my Illustrator files are corrupt. My older version of Illustrator won't even open these files! Nothing, not even Acrobat will read these files now. Unknown errors all over the place. I am sickened by the thought of the loss of all of my work. I need these files!! I need this program as well! What is even stranger for me to understand is that the night before it worked fine and I used Illustrator without adding or changing a thing. I worked for a little bit, then shut the lid of my laptop and went to bed. That's it!
I can provide more details if necessary.

Message was edited by: amyzhongIt is an unknown error and I do not think if they were working in the past that they are all of a sudden corrupt. It sounds to me like you will have to repair your permissions. Now I can tell you from experience that it sounds like Illustrator cannot access the various directories it has to and that seems to me like a permissions problem.
You will need some one familiar with Windows and Vista to tell you how to go about his but the problem here is that all the Windows users seem opposed to even considering this possibility and instead of even trying this approach they have even gone to the extreme of having the user reinstal their system.
So what I am writing is a suggestion and beyond that I wish you well.
But before I go it can also be a font cache problem and there are tools to clear those files as well this approach at least has had some acceptance.

lo he vuelto a instalar otra vez... y ya no me da el error de pdfformat cuando arranca el programa para ponerse en marcha.
pero cuando acaba de arrancar en vez de salir la pantalla de illustrator con el menu y la paleta de coleres me sale todo la pantalla en blanco y se queda el pc sin respuesta, y me toca cerrar el programa.

I have setup a business action to process EDI X12 850 (PO) document version 4010 over EDI X12 over Internet - HTTP. To simulate the Trading Partner sending the EDI data to us I have developed a test.html page to submit the EDI data. The test.html does a http post to the b2b/transportServlet. I have created Internal Deliver Channel as File Inbound for the Host Trading Partner and at the time of creating the agreement between the partners I have selected this channel.
And I am keeping the EDI document in the end point folder. I am giving the file name as XXX_850_4010_1_12345.dat.
Now I am not getting General validation error. This time I am getting the below error.
Please Let me know If my approch is correct?

Urgent - Need Details on Error Code AIP-51505
Hi,
I am getting the following error in B2B.Previously the Process was working without any issues. I have made one change in the ECS and XSD and uploaded the same. ( I have included the SAC Loop present in IT1 Loop as per Customer Requirement). After Uploading the ECS and XSD, I am getting this error.
Element SLN03(Relationship Code) is missing. This element's standard option is 'Mandatory'. Segment SLN is defined in the guideline at position 200.{br}{br}This element was expected in:{br}{tab}Segment Count: 7{br}{tab}Character: 1757
I have checked the Payload and i found SLN03 Element is getting mapped. Please find the payload message.

Thanks for your Responce. The file that i have used for my testing is passed through B2B wihtout any issues before making the changes to ECS and XSD. After making the changes it shows the error. Even i havent modified BPEL Process. Also SAC Loop is Optional in ECS and XSD. I have posted the B2B log below:

EDI Outbound 855 Error Code:AIP-51505 Unable to create outbound file
Hi,
I am facing some issues while processing EDI Outbound 855.
I am getting error in B2B . I have checked ECS and XSD. There is no mismatch
Error description: Extra elements were found in the data file as part of Segment PO1 at guideline position 010.{br}{br}This error was detected at:{br}{tab}Segment Count: 3{br}{tab}Element Position: 5{br}{tab}Characters: 1388 through 1390

It appears from your previous post,
1. This issue is there only for one Trading Partner.
2. You have already validated document against XSD and also XSD is generated from the ecs which is getting used, transaction set ecs does not contain envelop details.
Please do the following.
1. Please make sure you have not overridden transaction set ecs as part of operational Capability.
2. Please send us the b2b.log in DEBUG mode along with ecs and payload(XML) which will help us to identify which segment is extra in it.

I have searched everywhere on both the net and the adobe website and there is no solution for this problem. I have tried all suggestions, aside from reformatting my hard drive and loading everything from scratch. I have Adobe CS3 Master Collection which we paid quite a bit for and I find these errors and mistakes outrageous. I have a Zune and I still hve to disable the launch using the Vista Task Manager in order to get PDF files to save using any progrm within the suite.
All of a sudden one day, I started getting the following error: Error loading plugins. ColorHarmony.aip DxfDwg.aip FHImprot.ap PNGFileFormat.aip TracingSuite.aip TrcingUI.aip
I have tried using the CS3 Script clean up tool, even at level 2. I have gone through and got rid of any vestiges of folders or files that have to do with Adobe CS3 Master Collection. Nothing works. The only thing that did work that I refuse to do is to make another User Account and use that account just for Illustrator so I have to switch users back and forth to send e-mails and such.
What is the fix for this? Is Adobe paying attention?
Any words of wisdom? I have read that even after paying the $39.95 for help from Adobe, they still dont have a solution. Is t his a ploy to make some money off of fees during this economy?Okay all, here is what I have tried; re-installed printer drivers,nothing, then:
I went to C:\Users\[your name]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Illustrator CS3 Settings on Win Vista.
Found the following folders: Brushes, Composite Fonts, Graphics Styles, Kinsoku, MojiKumi, New Document Profiles, Plug-ins, Swatches, Symbols, Workspaces. All folders were empty except for the New Document Profiles which had the following: Basic CMYK, Basic RGB, Mobile and Devices,
Print, Video and Film and Web, as I said these are document files which I deleted before this re-installation and nothing. Same error as above.
The three files listed in the Illustrator CS3 Settings folders are: AI Color Settings, AIMenuFaceCache and IllustratorFnt.lst. I deleted all three, IllustratorFnt.lst rebuilds immediately when I Open Illustrator CS3, however, the other two dont seems to rebuild until I receive the Microsoft Windows alert: a problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the rpgoram and notify you if a solution is available. You'd think with the many times that this program has shut down automatically, someone would have a solution by now!
There is no AdobeFnt.lst file as specified by Mylenium.
corrupt preference folder, the whole users preference folder: I do not see an AI.Preferences folder in this area neither, and when I reopen Illustrator there is still no Preferences folder. Dont know how to get to the whole users preferences folder. I have a done Search for Preferences*.* and I only get entries for ACT! 2008 CMR which we have installed here.

an update to something on your user account Hmmm all I have done are the recommended updates to Vista
conflicting software on the mac it is usually entourage or Quicken but they usually interfere with the keyboard shortcuts. On a PC.
and on the pc world of course a virus that is affecting your user account because it has only found your password on that accounts and which you obtained via browser or e-mail. Ran a full system virus scan and nothing.
The last and very unpopular amongst the pc world is a permissions problem in the pc world they always find a work around thuis issue rather than face the fact and why Adobe may have given up at this point. Turned off the UAC account, but your right, when I tried to delete the mentioned plugins in the errror, it said i didnt have the permissions.
There can be other reasons. The reason Adobe could not find it is the problem on the pc is often denial that this is user induced it also a problem but to less a degree on the Mac.
Maintaining your system is important. I do regular scans and things.
For instance have you set your scratch to a hard drive hat has a lot of free space do you have scratch other than your start up disk? Have a huge hard disk and 4 gb of DDR3 ram.
How much RAM do you have these are less likely to be the problem since the new user account works.
If you want to get his running again try a few things and tell us what did not work and perhaps we can help with nrrowing it down.

Error AIP-50079 : Transport error: [IPT_HttpSendHostNotFound]
I was trying Tutorial 3 ( EDI X12 over AS2) from User's Guide. As per instruction, I have configured two B2B Servers. Both the servers are up and running. When I am enqueuing 850 message from Acme server, It's not going to the other server. The error message I see under Reports->Error is:
AIP-50079 : Transport error: [IPT_HttpSendHostNotFound] Host oracle01.dev.rapidigm.com: oracle01.dev.rapidigm.com cannot be found. oracle01.dev.rapidigm.com: oracle01.dev.rapidigm.com.
Not sure why Host name is showing twice (oracle01.dev.rapidigm.com: oracle01.dev.rapidigm.com) in the error message? It should be <Host Name> : <Port>, right?
Similar thing happened when I enqueued 855 from GlobalChips Server.

Actually I had to give IP address instead of Host name. Now My message is going from one server to another. However I am getting 'An unexpected error occurred during validation' error on the receiving side. Here is the b2b.lig in Debug more.

Does it has anything do with setting Wallet or certificate.Since I have not set those values anywhere.

Unfortunately the Wacom Sketch Manager is coded in a way that it installs its plug-in in the highest version of Illustrator every time it is launched (that is every time you start your computer).

Illustrator missing plugins PDF Format.aip Were is it?

When I try to launch illustrator I get an error saying it is missing plugins PDF Format.aip.
I am unable to get the program loaded it stops loading altogether. I have tried reinstalling the program as well no luck.
I am on a PC with Windows XP needed to replace hard drive and do a new reinstall of Adobe CS4.
Everything is updated and installed fine. Photoshop and others work fine Just Illustrator.
Did search on the net not much help there can any help here!
I can not even find a plug in called PDFFormat.aip!!
Why would Illustrator need a PDF plugin?
Any suggestions!It might just be a permissions problem you have to manually fix it on the windows platform but it should read on all the directories dow to the file itself

Error message: "Missing required plugins" - Illustrator CS3 will not load
I am running CS3 Web Prem on Vista, dual core Athlon with 2g Ram.
Illustrator has stopped working - gives error message: "Missing required plugins. Pathfinder Suite." Or it says "Missing required plugins. ArtConverters.aip PDFformat.aip Pathfinder suite.aip Rasterize.aip"
I have tried the suggestions from knowledge base article - I have tried deleting AIprefs; I have also tried in new user account - initially worked but not on opening program a second time. I have also re-installed Illustrator.

Not sure what possible nuances to performance or memory management there may be to running in compatibility mode. Since I can't run in any other mode, it is hard to make a comparison.
It seems to run fine though, for me.
There should be a Windows Update that came out in the last day or so that is supposed to address this issue (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947562). At least thats what it says.
BUT, after that fiasco with SP1, I am real reluctant to do any more updates.
SP1 toasted my ability to connect with network resources, external and some internal hard drives, ALL my USB equipment failed to connect anymore. I removed SP1 (uninstalled it per the instructions on the MS KB) but that process trashed the OS and required a complete clean re-install of Vista. A week later I am pretty much back to where I should be (see, my system backups were with SP1. Brilliant, eh?).
Still have to run many so-called "Vista Compatible" applications in this compatability mode though.
