Error playing sending music to my stereo through Aiport Express

Everything seems to be hooked up ok, I went through the airport utility and got the Express set up to my existing network. I have the Express hooked up to my stereo, got the green light, and seem to be good to go.
But when I select my stereo speakers in Itunes, it says "An unknown error occured while connecting to the remote speakers. An unknown error occured (-3256)"
I googled that error code but couldn't even find anything. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

I've been having the same problem, even after I updated to the latest 6.3 firmware. To get it to work, I just have to change to "play music through computer" then switch it right back to the express speakers, and it works then. but it's a pain. I wonder if I should try re-installing the firmware or something.
Is this still happening to anyone else who's running the current 6.3 firmware?

Full bars don't tell the whole story. These issues usually stem from interference, use istumbler to verify

Can I play the music on Apple TV through iTunes?

OK, this is not easy to explain, hope this makes sense:
My Apple TV is connected both to my TV and to my HiFi System. In order to listen to music, I always have to switch the TV on and navigate through the Apple TV Menu.
Would it be possible to select and play the music on my Apple TV directly through iTunes on my iMac which is synced to the Apple TV?
This way I wouldn't always have to turn the TV on and fiddle around with the tiny remote control, when I just want to listen to some music through my HiFi system.
Basically what I am looking for is to open iTunes on my Mac, click on Apple TV on the left under devices and just click on any title or playlist to play it over Apple TV.
Any ideas and help are greatly appreciated!

Chenks and OP; yes, I do this a lot without the TV on. I just use the ATV as an Airtunes client sending the sound from iTunes to it with the remote speaker choice at the bottom right. Just turn on the amp, leave the TV off and navigate on the computer. But, the OP says he wants to choose a playlist etc under the ATV icon, that won't work, he'll have to make his music selections in iTunes as though he is using the computer to listen.

Sending music to my stereo? Please help!

I just purchased an Airport Express for getting music from my iTunes to my home stereo. I don't want to use the Airport Express for a wireless network because A.)I already have a wireless home network set up, and don't want to have to run a cable through my living room from the router over to the stereo, and B.)I've heard that wireless networks with the Airport Express aren't always 100% reliable... So I want to be able to use my current wireless network while sending music to my Airport Express. Is there a way to do this? As of now it appears that I have to be connected to the Airport Express network (which means I can't be connected to my home network) to send music to it. Is there anyway around this, or anyway to be connected to both networks at the same time?
If not, I'll probably get rid of the thing, or just deal with an ethernet cord running through my living room.

Yes your AirPort Express (AX) can join your current wireless network. Configure the AX following the directions in KB 302153, AirPort Express: How to join an existing wireless network in client mode.

Cannot play to stereo through airport express - unit flashes amber

I cannot play to my stereo through the airport express. I already have a wireless network set up which works fine (cable modem to wireless linksys router. Wireless to desktop which has linksys antenna).
I have plugged in the airport express near the stereo (only 10 ft. from PC) and connected it to the receiver. The "Airport Admin Utility" is also installed. After no drop down menu shows in iTunes (latest version is installed), I performed a hard reset on the AE.
The Admin Utility has been uninstalled and re-installed and the modem has also been reset (unplugging, waiting a few seconds, then plugging in again).
HELP!!!!!!!!!

Let's double-check your AirPort Express Base Station (AX)'s settings:
To set up AirTunes on the AirPort Express Base Station (AX), connect your computer directly (using an Ethernet cable) to the Ethernet port of the AX, and then, use the AirPort Admin Utility to check these settings:
AirPort tab
- Base Station Name: <whatever you wish or use the default>
- Wireless Mode: Join an Existing Wireless Network (Wireless Client)
- Wireless Network: <select the existing wireless network>
Music tab
- Enable AirTunes on this base station (checked)
- Enable AirTunes over the Ethernet port (optional)
- iTunes Speaker Name: <whatever you wish>
- iTunes Speaker Password (optional)
In iTunes:
iTunes > Preferences... > Advanced > General
- Look for remote speakers connected with AirTunes (checked)

If your iPhone wont power on, I recommend going through these steps first:
iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting

Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIs and corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.

How to play a music on my iPhone through my car radio ??

I want to play a song on my iPhone through my car radio but not via an FM adapter. I don't want to connect anything. If there is an application, I can search for any station on this application and the same station on the radio so It will connect automatically. For example, the station number on the application is ( 100.06 ) so I have to search for the same satation number ( 100.06 ) on the radio to play the songs on my iPhone.

You can use Bluetooth devices that are either integrated into the car or purchased separately. This might look something like: iPhone > Bluetooth wireless signal > Bluetooth receiver > wired analog audio plugged into car stereo AUX port.
If you don't have built-in Bluetooth or an AUX port, you will need an FM transmitter, some of which are wireless but do need to connect to the iPhone directly.

Let me recap...Apple TV can access shared music library via Home Sharing with no issues. The iPhone 4S can ACCESS the shared library, SCROLL through the songs, but when I attempt to PLAY a song it just skips it and sends me back to the browsing screen.

Playing the music on an iPhone through a 2006 Power Mac G5.

I have a Dual 2 GHz PowerPC G5 running OSX 10.4.11 (purchased 2006). I bought a basic audio cable for connecting MP3 devices and plugged it into the "audio in" on the back. Not hearing anything. I tested the able on another piece of equipment.. worked! I know there is an issue with iTunes and an older Mac. I can't sync my phone to iTunes, but does that then exclude playing any MP3 device? Just to cover all grounds, I tried to play a few different apps – first the straight music on my phone, then Radio.com, then Pandora, then tried streaming a radio station. None played thru my speakers. Is my Mac too old to play MP3 devices in general??

Auidio in isn't like a stereo amp as the G5 has no pre-amp.
If you can use a device through the G5, you would need to setup using the MIDI application in your Utilities folder.

Unable to play purchased music on my iPod through my PC at work

I purchased music using my PC at home. While at work, I prefer to connect my iPod to my PC and play through the PC. However, I just noticed that my PC wants me to purchase or reauthorize the music I have already purchased at home to play on my iPod through my PC. I don't want to do this as I will use up one of my transfers. I think this might be a bug. Any ideas?

But they're still playing "through" iTunes... and iTunes needs to be able to read the protected tracks. It won't be able to do that unless it's authorized to do so.

Hey man, thanks for pointing me in the right direction! I started messing around with the Phono 2 dials on the unit and was having no luck what so ever. I then wanted to try my microphone to make sure that it was still working from all the changes I had made. Well, when I hit the record button and talked into my mic it showed something being recorded, so I knew my mic was still working... But.... when I played the recording, It was the recording from the T.V.!!! At this point I knew I was close to getting this issue solved.

I ended up having to open my "Sounds & Audio" controller within the Windows XP Control Panel and then going to the volume section of the XF-I card and then going to file, properties, and then check the "Phono 2" port off so that I could see it listed with all of my other volume and sounds controls. I then un-muted it as you said and Bam!!!!!!! Guitar Hero on my PS2 was pumping out at my full 500W!!!! I nearly went death from the experience, but it was very gratifying!!!

i am getting this error when i manually enter a output type in ME22N transaction. This output type is supposed to send a ALE Orders idoc to the ABC610 system.
Partner ABC610 does not exist for partner function LS

Diagnosis
Partner does not exist for the partner function selected for this
transaction.

Yes, Sorry forgot to mention in my previous post. The Partner profile with the same name exists in WE20 and also the outbound parameters are populated correctly to send the IDOC.
I also checked BD64 and the model is defined and distributed successfully.
any other inputs what else to check?

COMMIT_IN_POSTING error when sending PO as PDF attachment through me23n.

I am sending PO smartform as PDF attachment which is created when print preview option is selected in ME23n .
Problem is when i use

If I am using COMMIT_WORK = 'X' in this function module. then am able to send the mail ,but at the same time am not able to save any new PO in ME21N.
Iam getting error COMMIT_IN_POSTING.

I have done changes in standard PO driver program from which am calling the samrtform using entry_enu form and with a nace configuration changes.Iam able to creat smartform output and also PDF file of smart form the only problem is sending mail while using 'SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1 and commit_work parameter.

"Invalid file" error playing PSE Slide show with audio through TV via DVD...

I have just made a slide show with audio and burned it to CD using photoshop elements....it will play on my laptop but when I try to play it through the TV via a DVD it tells me that the file is invalid.

VCD is an old format that is largely deprecated these days. Fewer and fewer devices understand it. If you have a burner, try outputting your slideshow as a wmv file and using whatever else you have to burn it to a dvd. Even windows movie maker or something like that.
