Error querying Netezza from Oracle
I'm having an intermittent problem querying from Netezza using Oracle's HS. The Netezza database is identified as nv01. I can query successfully some of the time; e.g.,
SQL> select * from t_county@nv01 where rownum < 5;
COUNT COUNTY_NAME ST MSA_ DMA LOAD_TSTM
48263 KENT TX 651 05-FEB-02
48315 MARION TX 612 05-FEB-02
48335 MITCHELL TX 662 05-FEB-02
48499 WOOD TX 709 05-FEB-02
Other times (I haven't identified any particular pattern yet) queries will fail miserably; e.g.,
SQL> select count(*) from t_county@nv01;
select count(*) from t_county@nv01
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-28500: connection from ORACLE to a non-Oracle system returned this message:
More than one active statements is not yet supported on the same connection
ORA-02063: preceding 2 lines from NV01
I'm using only a single SQL*Plus session. Any suggestions?
I enabled tracing and the output is displayed below. What I pasted below occurs immediately after a little of column names and data types, so there's some successful communication before the failure.

Error calling BLS from oracle database
Hi Experts,
We have a scenario in which we are calling BLS from oracle database using trigger. The call is made using the following URL:
http://<Host name>:50000/XMII/Runner?Transaction=<TRX_Path>&Material=MATNR&Pallet_id=PALLET&Plant=PLANT&Proc_order=PROC&Prodline=PROD&Quantity=QTY&Start_Date=DAT&Start_Time=TIM&Status=STAT&UOM=UOM1&User_name=USER&OutputParameter=*
This used to work fine in 11.5 but when we upgraded to 14.0 it is not working. We have maintained server details in \etc\host file.
We were getting error in file 'Error 1 Text.txt'. "A possible Cross-Frame Scripting attack has been prevented. Please contact your system administrator or refer to" this was the last error message. We checked this on SCN and based on the search results we have implemented SAP note 1651004 wherein setting in netweaver is required to be changed. After note was implemented we are getting another error text ('Error 2 Text.txt') "This will happen if the browser running the page tha". We tried a few ways but could not capture the full message coming.
Has anybody of faced similar problem? I would highly appreciate any hint which could help in solving this problem.
System Information:
NW 7.31 SP 10
Oracle 11.2.0.4

Regards,

I have now modified the URL by adding Illum login name and password:
http://<Host name>:50000/XMII/Runner?Transaction=<TRX_Path>&Material=MATNR&Pallet_id=PALLET&Plant=PLANT&Proc_order=PROC&…
When i run the url in browser it gives me the expected results but when i try to trigger it from Oracle i am still getting the error as below:

How to query data from Oracle, MySQL, and MSSQL?
For an environment consisting of Oracle 11g/12c enterprise edition, MySQL 5.7 community edition, and MSSQL 2008/2012 stanard/enterprise edition, is there any major issue using DG4ODBC to query data from all 3 platforms?
Is there other free alternatives?
If the queried data is mostly contained in MySQL or MSSQL, will it be more efficient to query from MySQL or MSSQL?
If yes, any suggestion of how to do it in those platforms? I know MSSQL can use linked server but it is quite slow.mkirtley-Oracle wrote:
Hi Ed,
It is semantics. By multiple instances I mean you have the gateway installed in an ORACLE_HOME which has 1 listener. However, if you are connecting to different non-Oracle databases or different individual databases of that non-Oracle database then you need multiple gateway instances for each database being connected. I did not mean that you need a gateway installed in a separate ORACLE_HOME for each non-Oracle database to which you are connecting.
Each of these would have a separate instance file within that ORACLE_HOME/hs/admin directory with the connection details for the non-Oracle database to which that instance connects.. So, you would have -
initgtw1.ora - connects to MySQL
initgtw2.ora - connect to SQL*Server northwind database
initgtw3.ora - connect to SQL*Server test database
etc
etc
Each of these instances would have a separate entry in the gateway listener.ora.
In MOS have a look at this note -
How To Add A New Database or Destination To An Existing Gateway Configuration (Doc ID 1304573.1)
Regards,

Ah yes, we are in agreement, it was just semantics. Thanks. -

Query Data From Oracle to Excel
Dear all,
Please guide me to solve.
Regards
DharmaQuestion's Caption is : Data From Oracle to Excel
While you are asking :
data in execel (windows ) move to Oracle Database table (Linux *64)Anyway, if your question is export data from Excel to Oracle then below thread may be of your interest which are saying that you have to install Dg4ODBC on Windows and use the ODBC driver there.
When running DG4ODBC on Unix you need an ODBC driver on this Unix box which can connect to the MS Excel file. I'm not aware of any suitable driver so far that fulfills the ODBC level 3 standard required for DG4ODBC.
So instead of using DG4ODBC, get the Windows software of DG4ODBC and install it on a Windows machine. You can then connect from your Oracle database to the Dg4ODBC listener on Windows which then spawns the DG4ODBC process. This DG4ODBC process then uses the MS Excel ODBC driver to connect to the Excel sheet.

Query Results from Oracle 8 DB to Microsoft Excel.
Hi All,
Consider there are two systems in a network.
One system is having Microsoft Excel 2007 and Excel 2003
The Other System has Oracle 8 DB
Can you please let me know how to query the oracle DB from the Microsoft Excel which is in other network system.
Thanks,
John DennisI found the solution for my question which was answered by Rajiv Saggere on Nov 23, 1999 at 3:52 PM. Eventhough I am populating the data into a control block I am populate the data into that block through a query. So, I have copied the code that Rajiv Saggere has send as a reply for a similar question. I was trying the same earlier but some reason I couldn't populate the data. If anybody else need that answer to this question I am just copying that here in this reply.
Thanks you very much Rajiv Saggere.

Error while redirection from oracle SSO to custom application
Hi All,
I have enabled SSO for my web based application. I have modified in mod_osso.conf files in $ORACLE_HOME/Apache/Apache/conf directory. When user gives url like http://<application server name>:<port number>/<application name> then the browser will automatically directed to SSO page. After getting the authontication it has to come to the home page of the application.
After giving http://<application server name>:<port number>/<application name> the browser is going to SSO page. In some IE browsers after entering the authontication details, the browser redirects to the application home page. But in some of the IE browsers its going to 'page not found' error page.
I have checked all the details like privacy, IE service pack and security but couldn't get a concreate reason. Please any one help me out.
ShrikantHi,
I am currently experiencing the same problem. We have narrowed it down to users running Internet Explorer through a proxy connection (e.g. SQUID etc..). If they bypass their proxy servers then using the same PC / browser authentication works, however with the proxy enabled authentication fails and they have to refresh the page manually to get the portal landing page. The strange thing is the problem does not appear to happen with Opera / Firefox browsers.
Here are some links to the SQUID proxy issues:

Server and/or port attributes are empty {HY000,NativeErr = 33}Always test ODBC client connectivity on the Oracle server to the remote and foreign database, first. Use the isql ODBC client command line interface (as the oracle or grid o/s user).
If this does not work, then Oracle HSO will also not work.
Once you have confirmed that this is working, then configure the HSO service for Oracle.
If that fails, enables ODBC client tracing for that HSO service (in the init file for that service) to see exactly what ODBC calls Oracle is making and which of these are failing. -

Do I need to install postgres software also?
While installing postgres odbc driver in /oracle/psqlodbc only two folders were created viz. lib and share
In lib folder two files were created viz. psqlodbc.la and libpsqlodbc.a
And everybody on the net seems to refer psqlodbc.so in the "Driver = " parameter
Today, I extracted the libpsqlodbc.a by using ar -X 64 -xv libpsqlodbc.a again, still no file with .so has been created.

Trying to query data from a view - ORA-01882 and ORA-02063 Errors
Hey there,
I tried to query data from a view that was provided by a colleague. This view works fine and gives correct data using PL/SQL Developer or SQLPLUS, but in SQL Developer, I get the following error:
ORA-01882: Time zone region not found
ORA-02063: preceding line from SYSTOOLS
01882.00000 - "timezone region %s not found"
* Cause: Specified reason name was not found
* Action: Please contact Oracle Customer Support
Vendor Code 1882
Where comes this error message from?! SYSTOOLS is the database link.
Can't see an obvious reason for this error.
OS is Windows 2000 SP4, SQL Developer is v1.1.1.25 BUILD MAIN-25.14

Error with DG4ODBC while setting up connectivity from oracle to IBM iSeries AS400 version V7R1
Hi,
I have Enterprise linux 64-bit hosting Oracle 11gR2 64-bit (11.2.0.1) database. I have access to IBM iSeries AS400 version V7R1. I am trying to connect to IBM iSeries from Oracle Database through ODBC connectivity using Database Link. The following is what I have done.
On the Database (Linux) host Installed iSeriesAccess-7.1.0-1.0.x86_64.rpm provided by IBM.
my odbcinst.ini has the following entries:
[PostgreSQL]
Description = ODBC for PostgreSQL
Driver = /usr/lib/libodbcpsql.so
Setup = /usr/lib/libodbcpsqlS.so
FileUsage = 1
[iSeries Access ODBC Driver]
Description = iSeries Access for Linux ODBC Driver
Driver = /opt/ibm/iSeriesAccess/lib64/libcwbodbc.so
Setup = /opt/ibm/iSeriesAccess/lib64/libcwbodbcs.so
NOTE1 = If using unixODBC 2.2.11 or later and you want the 32 and 64-bit ODBC drivers to share DSN's,
NOTE2 = the following Driver64/Setup64 keywords will provide that support.
Driver64 = /opt/ibm/iSeriesAccess/lib64/libcwbodbc.so
Setup64 = /opt/ibm/iSeriesAccess/lib64/libcwbodbcs.so
Threading = 2
DontDLClose = 1

The odbc.ini has the following entries:
[ODBC Data Sources]
dg4odbc = connection to db2
[dg4odbc]
Driver = /opt/ibm/iSeriesAccess/lib64/libcwbodbc.so
Description=iSeries Access for Linux ODBC Driver

The listener entries are as follows:
(SID_DESC =
(SID_NAME = dg4odbc)
(ORACLE_HOME = /opt/oracle/dbs/product/11.2.0/dbhome_1)
(PROGRAM = dg4odbc)
Stopped and started the listener.
The TNS entry is as follows:

I have looked up the errors on Oracle forums and could not get any valuable help anywhere.
Can someone kindly help out where I am going wrong?
Thanks,
Ram.Hello kgronau,
Thank You very much for your recommendations. I removed the parameter HS_FDS_TRACE_LEVEL = 255.
I added HS_FDS_FETCH_ROWS=1 and also HS_NLS_NCHAR = UCS2
Tested my sql statement, which yielded the result as follows:
SQL> select * from mdiaz.AREMAIL@samplink;
select * from mdiaz.AREMAIL@samplink
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-28500: connection from ORACLE to a non-Oracle system returned this message:
㈵″㠵6
SO I thought I would give a try of removing the line HS_NLS_NCHAR = UCS2
and again tested my sql statement and it worked like a charm!!!!
I tested a count(*) and got the results back.
SQL> select count(*) from mdiaz.AREMAIL@samplink;
COUNT(*)
600
I really appreciate your valuable pointers and help.
Thanks once again!!!

Error retrieving data in Oracle BI 11g from DB2 AS/400
Hello everybody,
In my Oracle BI 11g environment I want to have data coming from a DB2 AS/400 database. Retrieving the tables from the database in BI Administration and building the repository works fine. But as soon as I want to see the data (from the BI Administration or BI Answers) I get the following error (in BI Answers):
+Description: System.Data.Odbc.OdbcException: ERROR [08S01] [IBM][iSeries Access ODBC Driver]Communication link failure. comm rc=11004 - CWBCO1011 - Remote port could not be resolved+
I tried some different settings (ODBC Basis, ODBC Advanced and AS/400) as a databasetype and different type of connections (ODBC 2.0 and ODBC 3.5) in the connection pool. But non of the settings seems to solve the problem.
When I try to query the database using another tool, Oracle Interactive Reporting, everything works fine as long as I use ODBC as both database- and connectiontype.
Does anybode got an idea how this can be solved/where to look for a solution?
Thanks in advance!
With regards,
Dennis de KockHi Dennis,
We have used default ODBC 3.5 to connect DB2 AS400 iseries but we would like to know from Oracle what is the certified client connectivity software to use.
Afte Opening SR with Oracle they have mentioned that Oracle has not tested and it is not a certified database to support as per SRSP document.
Please let me know your feedback if you have contacted Oracle on this ?
Thanks
