Error registering a Cisco 2811 with a clustered CallManager 4.3

Hello, i'm having problems registering a Cisco 2811 Gateway with a VWIC2-1MFT-E1 interface card with Cisco CallManager 4.3.
The error displayed when debugging mgcp is the following:

Previously, the gateway downloaded xml config files from the Cisco CallManager without problems and, in addition, when trying to add a Route Group (in the CallManager) this Gateway does not appear
in the list of Available Devices although
I have added it through the Device->Gateway Menu.

If the IP domain name is configured in Cisco IOS on the MGCP gateway, enter the Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) in the Domain Name field.
In the example: test and cisco.com represent the hostname and domain name respectively. If the IP domain name is not configured in Cisco IOS on the MGCP gateway, enter only the hostname of the MGCP gateway in the Domain Name field.
You would enter test.cisco.com (in CCM)

I am thinking of buying Cisco 2811 but I struggle to figure out the difference which ASYNC/SYNC MODULE to use. So, my question, is it possible to use NM-16A module with Cisco 2811 or HWIC-16A module must be used? And what is the difference between them?
    I found on Cisco website that NM-16A is not supported on Cisco 2811, however some forums stated that it is possible.

    The HWIC is called HWIC-16A, but there is also a HWIC-8A
    plus one or two CAB-HD8-ASYNC combo-squid-cables (green 1-to-8 with RJ45 plugs)

    then you run rotary groups on the async SLIP's, via the cfg.

    Yes, VMs with disks on premium storage are not supported right now for Azure Backup. We will be updating our documentation shortly to reflect that limitation.

  • ASA 5510 with Cisco 2811 Router Behind it - Not forwarding traffic

    Some might know that I have been dealing with an issue where I cannot seem to get forwarded packets to reach their destinations behind an ASA 5510 that has a Cisco 2811 connected directly behind it.
    Some examples that work.
    I can SSH into the ASA.
    I can SSH to the Cisco Routers behind the ASA.
    I cannot reach items beind the Cisco Routers.
    My Configuration is this (I am sure I included a bunch of info I didn't need to, but I am hoping it'll help!):
    I have a static Ip assigned to my Ouside Interface Ethernet 0/1
    It has an IP address of 199.195.xxx.xxx
    I am trying to learn how to shape network traffic (this is all new to me) via the ASA and the Routers to specific devices.
    The Inside Interface on the ASA is 10.10.1.1 255.255.255.252
    The Outside Interface on the 2811 is 10.10.1.2 255.255.255.252
    I can ping the router from the ASA. I can SSH through the ASA to the router.
    BUT I CANNOT ACCESS DEVICES BEHIND THE ROUTER.
    So, I wanted to BAM that statement above because I just don't kjnow where the issue is. Is the issue on the router or the ASA, my guess is, the router, but I just don't know.
    Here are my configs, helpfully someone can help.

    I ran those commands while I had the nat off on the router and here are the results. note, i didn't make any changes to the ASA as you only said to remove the router RIP which I did and reloaded and no change.
    As long as the statements ip nat outside on the Fastethernet 0/0 is off and the ip nat inside is off on the vlan and the overload statement is taken out, I cannot hit the internet.

    In 2811 you have 4 HWIC and 1 NME you can install 1-port ADSL WAN Interface Cardon the HWIC slots.
    Also just enable 3 default (equal cost) routes towards the interfaces which will take care of the load balancing.

  • Video/Voice Conference -8 Error Explained for Cisco Routers

    I cannot tell you how long I have spent trying to figure out this problem. We have a bunch of macs sitting behind a NATed Cisco 2811 router, and iChat will just never work, throwing the good ole' -8 error.
    Having a good understanding of SIP, I decided to get down an dirty with the investigation of why iChat doesn't work behind some routers, while it does on others.
    iChat uses SIP, but as I have found, Apple's implementation of it does not completely honor the RFC. This is the root cause of iChat not working behind enterprise grade routers that have SIP ALG activated (details later).
    Apple uses its own flavor of NAT traversal: SNATMAP. This is an Apple service that is utilized every time a video/voice conference is created from iChat. For those of you familiar with SIP, SNATMAP essentially performs the same function as a STUN server. This service abstracts the port specifications necessary to get around NATs to a server on the public Internet.
    With some routers, this SNATMAP seems to work fine. With others, not so much. I honestly don't have too deep of an understanding of SNATMAP so I cannot get into too much detail as to why it doesn't work with some routers. If anyone knows, please chime in!
    I can, however, clearly indicate why it doesn't work behind routers that have a SIP ALG, which essentially has the intelligence to pick apart to SIP packet to make them NAT friendly. Basically, there is a portion of SIP packets called the SDP (Session Description Protocol) that provides all of the information necessary to set up the voice and video stream. The SIP RFC calls for this section to include information like the connection IP address, port, video codec, audio codec, etc. HOWEVER, Apple's implementation of iChat DOES NOT INCLUDE THE PORT IN THE SDP. Therefore, when a SIP ALG tries to intelligently convert the port, it isn't there to change. Even if it does manage to insert a port number into the SDP, the iChat client receiving the SIP packet doesn't respect that port number and just dumbly sends the request back to the default SIP port (5060).
    Here is a little flow of the process:
    1. A SIP packet is sent out from iChat to the cisco router
    2. Cisco intercepts the packet, changes the private IP address of my computer to the public IP address of the interface, and changes the port to one that it assigns on the public interface. So, basically the SIP packet enters the cisco with the SDP info like 192.168.100.137:5060 and leaves the Cisco like <public IP>:1877.
    3. On the receiving end, the SIP packet and SDP section is read with our DSL connection's public IP address, so when it tries to make contact back, requests are sent to the DSL public IP address and not an unrouteable private IP. Also, it sends to the port specified in the SDP section.
    4. When a packet comes in from the peer, the destination is something like <public IP>:1877. The cisco NAT translation table remembers that things destined to port 1877 should be converted to 192.168.100.137 on port 5060. The SDP section of the SIP packet is modified and things are peachy.
    5. This happens back and forth for all SIP messages that traverse the NAT.
    iChat is not SIP RFC compliant which is why we are having these natting issues. iChat does not specify a port in the SDP portion of the SIP messages it is sending out: a big no-no. Therefore, when the recipient iChat is sending back its requests to 207.182.233.32, it is sending it to port 5060 instead of assigned port 1877. The public port 5060 is blocked, and is not routed to any specific computer, resulting in a timeout. Here is the Cisco output 'debug ip nat sip'

    As you can see, it is processing the INVITE request and translating the internal IP address to the public one.
    However, it reports no port present, meaning that the port specification in the SDP section of the SIP packet is not present. It does a port translation because it feels obligated to, but iChat doesn't respect that on the other end and sends to 5060 anyway which is not mapped to any specific internal IP addess, so, alas, it doesn't work.
    Now, that being, said, this explains why iChat doesn't work behind SIP ALGs. However, if you are able to disable the SIP ALG (on cisco: 'no ip nat service sip udp 5060'), it still doesn't work. With the ALG turned off, the SDP translations don't occur, but for some reason SNATMAP still doesn't work either. I am thinking that could be due to a nat issue, but I haven't figured that out yet. Anyone's insight would be appreciated!
    Hope this helps anyone out there seeking help / console with iChat Error -8 issues behind an enterprise grade router.
    Hopefully we can figure out why iChat's SNATMAP implementation doesn't work with a Cisco NAT next...

    Ok for the Homehub's.
    UPnP should be enabled.
    Set the Quicktime streaming setting, goto sys prefs/quicktime/streaming/streaming speed, set to 1.5mbps(dont use automatic)
    In ichats prefs click on video and change bandwidth limit to NONE.
    Goto to sys prefs/sharing/firewall and turn on(dont add any ports for ichat, leave anything that is ticked ticked).
    Restart ichat.
    And try connecting to me defcom1 .mac account.

    Has this been something that just recently started happening, or have you had this issue for a while?  Have you installed any new programs recently?
    You may want to download Glary Utilities, which is a free software(they will ask you if you want to go Pro, just say no, the free version works very well).  There is a module for startup manager.  You can go in and disable stuff that starts with the computer.  I would advise unchecking adobe, java, quicktime, printers, etc.  Anything that doesn't REALLY need to start with the computer.  The nice thing with Glary is that you can restart the computer, and if you find that you need one of the programs to start with windows, you can go back in and enable it again.
    The Celeron 925 processor in your computer is a decent entry level processor, but if there are too many programs running in the background, it can bog down quick.  I would also recommend downloading and running Malwarebytes Anti-malware, to be sure that there is nothing malicous running in the background.

  • Cisco 2811 IOS VOICE question

    I recently inherited a Cisco 2811 Router.  I want to play with some Voice services as a test lab.  I currently have a production CUCM 8.6 environment I would like to connect it to.  It has IOS C2800NM-ENTSERVICESK9-M 12.4(17).  If I program it to register with my CCM, it always gets stuck at ""registering with CCM".  Oddly enough, I can assign it SCCP based phones, but anytime I try to play with SIP phones, the phones never register.  I am thinking its related to the "Registering with CCM" and "Current active call manager : none"   when I do a show-ccm.  Do I have the wrong IOS for voice?  I am more familiar with the X9XX series routers where you can do a sh-license and it tells you it has the UC license.  If that is the case, what is the minimum license level to support voice on the 2811 router to connect it to my CUCM8.6 using MGCP?

    Hi David,
    IOS on 2800 series routers is implemented differently , hence we do not have any licenses. Voice should work as long as we have the right IOS image. Having said that , If voice components were not enabled , we would not have been put in any commands , for MGCP etc.
    Coming to the IOS version , while the image is indeed quite old , i don't think it should affect the registration . As a good practice , it is recommended to have the IOS versions and CUCM versions 'compatible', which is tabulated in the link below :

    Moving on to the registration , here are some quick pointers:
    1. make sure that the config on GW is as per the link below :

    2. The GW name should match that on CUCM. Match the name in the first line of "show ccm-manager" to the name that has been added to CUCM.

    I have three cisco 2811 routers, Router A has both 4 FXS & 4FXO port , Router B & Router C have 4 FXS port. connect with Alcatel PABX.
    Now, the problem is ph lines are down after 3 days or more. Whenever down, i try to refresh voice port , with " shut & no shut " on each routers.Now i face the problem that is whenever i make shut & no shut on Router B site, ph line is ok there. But in Router C site , ph line is down. So i refresh @ Router C site,ph line is ok but in the router B site , ph line is down again.
    I try several ways for shut & no shut. i have no idea. i checked log file on Router A , here is

    I'm getting ORA-31085 error when try to register the same schema with same URl.
    My requirement is that I should be able to reregister the same schema with the same URL .
    I'm using the following function :

  • Can not register a new machine with Updatemanager

    Hi,
    I just install a new machine with Solaris 10 using a Flash image and Live Upgrade. The original machine from we create the Flash image was registered succesfull using Update Manager.
    Now, when I try to register the new machine, the applications ask me the user and password, but do not makes anything. The dialog freeze. The only way to stop the Update Manager is killing them (at the end is the full java error stack).
    I try with sconadm,
    sconadm register -a -r /var/tmp/registration.profile
    Unsuccessfull too, with the same stack error (Caused by: javax.management.InstanceNotFoundException: ).
    I'm bored with the Solaris patch system: all the weekend was saying error 500 for all my other registered machines, and now I can not register a new machine....
    This system fails all the time.. Is runing under W2K3 server???
    Any Idea?

    Well,
    The problem was a Memory problem: The swap file was misconfigured. Once the system reboots with the correct swap configuration I was able to register the machine.
    Anyway, the problem to connect with SunSolve is continous, but it is other point of discussion.

  • Error: Could not continue scan with nolock due to data movement, DBCC proccache will clear the probelm

    SQL Server: 2008 R2 SP2
    Before describing my problem, I have gone via the forum, there is no view or functions inside my stored procedure
    When running a particular stored procedure inside crystal report, the error " Could not continue scan with nolock due to data movement" comes once every few weeks. After I clear the query cache plan, it works again for few weeks and the problem
    comes again. During these few weeks, there is no restart or query plan clearing.
    If I run the stored procedure inside SSMS, where the SQL statement is copied and pasted from SQL profiler during crystal report run, there is no error.
    I discovered running in SSMS and crystal report generate 2 different query plans even I copied the SQL from SQL profiler, I have actually saved the query plans. Unfortunately, this forum does not accept attachments, or otherwise I will post my query plans
    here.
    There is one thing I notice about the query plan is during nested loop operation, there is a warning "no join predicate". I don't use any views or UDF in the statement, nor did I use pre-1992 ANSI join syntax. However, I did use table variables.
    My guess is whether this will cause " Could not continue scan with nolock due to data movement", after I clear the cache, I run crystal report again, and I look at the plan again, the "nested loop no join predicate" warning is gone.
    Running this stored procedure took 1 second maximum, even when this error is popping up, it pop up within 1 second.
    DBCC checkdb has been run
    The same stored procedure running by crystal report in a SQL 2008 (non r2) live environment has no problems, so I am thinking this is R2 specific problems.
    The "nested loop no join predicate" error SQL statment is below, no views, no udf, but table variables

    The error Could not continue scan with nolock due to data movement can occur when you use the NOLOCK table hint, or use the command SET TRANSACTION ISOLATION LEVEL READ UNCOMMITTED. That is, so-called dirty reads. The error is not related to the
    query plan per se, but when scanning a table, the storage engine will use an IAM scan rather than following the clustered index. If there is simultaneous activity, the storage engine may detect this and abort the operation to avoid returning incorrect data.
    Or it may not detect it, and return uncommitted data or fail to return committed data.
    All of these effects are transitory and they will not show up when you are alone on the system, only when there is concurrent activity in one or more of the tables in the query.
    Using dirty reads is a risky business for the reasons explained above, and it takes careful analysis to understand whether you can live with the errors you can get from a particular query. The error about data movement can be handled: trap the error and
    resubmit the query. But what about spurious incorrect results?
    If you believe locking to be a problem, you should consider setting the database to READ_COMMITTED_SNAPSHOT
    and take out all use of READ UNCOMMITTED/NOLOCK. When the database is in READ_COMMITTED_SNAPSHOT, readers read from the snapshot and only see committed data without blocking writers. This has some other effects like requiring a bigger tempdb,
    and there is a risk for other types of concurrency errors, but they tend to be smaller risks.
