Error Ring changing code number?
I wrote an application a few years ago and used error ring constant in the code. It was to indicate to that a dynamic dispatch VI was not opened by a child class as intended. The I found a description from the included list, and it described the condition very well. That development was done in LV 2011 or even earlier perhaps.
Now after a mass compile to VL2013 SP1, my error code (400046 specifically) is undefined. I guess I expected error codes to have a continuous, none changing life once created. Any ideas why it is no longer recognized?

I meant 42. I've often seen developers use it as a catch all for when they couldn't find an appropriate error code to use. If they re-assigned 42 to something like "Incorrect Password Entered" or something, then all those existing applications that rely on 42 to be the catch all would not return the correct error from the simple error handler.
Maybe they should use -41 instead.

Using T-code PE03, the feature numbkr was changed i.e the return value has been changed from 3 to 2(internal no. assigned)

HP Officejet 7610 keeps saying printer error without a code number
Tried all the 3 stages of troubleshooting,was also confronted by Another ERROR message in the email that I tried in vain to send to HPsupport because I couldn't remember the product #.This is why I'm forced to go on this page in a last desperate bid to get answers to why my printer won't go any further than this confounded error message on the screen.Also my phone doesn't work so I can't ring them!

I understand you have tried some troubleshooting for the printer error you're seeing. I am going to give you all of my thoughts and suggestions for this issue.
A 'Printer Failure' Message That Might Include an '0x610000f6' or '0x61xxxxxx' Error Code Displays o...
Also: Ensure the printer is plugged in directly to the wall outlet, avoiding power bars and surge protectors. This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help greatly.
Removing the ink cartridges.
Unplugging the printer.
Dampening a lint free cloth or cotton swab with bottled water.
Gently cleaning off the electrical contacts from the cartridges.
Waiting for the contacts to dry.
Re-seating them back in the printer.
Plugging the printer back in.
If the troubleshooting does not help resolve your issue, I would then suggest calling HP's Technical Support to see about further options for you, such as a replacement or trade in. Error code text file or Error ring, pros and cons of each
I'm looking for some community input on the pros and cons of using either the Error Code Text file, or the Error Ring for creating custom errors in an application. My question comes about as a result of this post.
I've used the Error Rings exclusively in the past to avoid the extra maintenance steps of bringing the text file along with the LV project and source control. I assumed the error information was simply converted to ring constant. But with my linked post above, I'm wondering how deep my mistakes may cut me.
Please weight in on this with pros/cons, , and any past experiences that may be helpful.Actually Hooovahh and Jeff are right. As you can see in that way you can prioritize the error that you need to read or in other case ignore. In the same time you can create the error that you want.

I get nothing but error messages, -
"Your IMAP server wants to alert you to the following: 113 that mail is not available" or the same with: 364?
Now there are hundreds stacked up on my desktop.
I cannot find the answer anywhere. You need to give answers to how to fix these errors because when I "search" "error code" or the number there is NOTHING. NOTHING! Yet you give us these stupid error codes
then you do not give us ANYTHING on how to fix these. These error codes make me so mad it makes me hate outlook, and hate the developers and hate microsoft. How in the world can you give us ERROR codes without the explanation of what
to do or how to fix it. You need to add each error code number in your "search" then explain what it is and how to fix it. I am not a tech. I am a lawyer. I have googled the entire string of error code and nothing is clear.

I understand how frustrated you are when facing such an issue, maybe I can provide some suggestions on the problem.
Based on the description, you should be using an IMAP account setup in Outlook. As for the error message, usually it's caused by a corrupted message on the Server. I suggest you logon the Webmail site, check if sending/receiving emails works well.
If you find any unusual emails that cannot be read or sent, try deleting them to try again.
I also suggest you create a new profile to setup the IMAP account:

Contact your Email Service Provider to get the correct and latest account settings, since you have been using Outlook for years, some settings may have been changed while you haven't been informed.

MoeGhazal I reviewed your account and it looks like you have have upgraded from a CS4 volume license for Design Premium to a retail upgrade of Design Premium 5.5.

This is determined by your carrier. It isn't a number of rings - it is based on time beginning when the call is received at your carrier's servers.
I believe with AT&T in the U.S. the maximum is 30 seconds. This does not equate to a full 30 seconds of ringing with the phone since there is some delay involved between the carrier receiving the call and it reaching the phone. -

Currently my FIOS residential service picks up voicemail after 4 rings, thereby negating my answering machine on my phone. It is then hit or miss for the system telling me if we have a voice mail. I would prefer to use my phone answering machine

Call your voicemail access phone number and go to settings. There is an option for that. -
An extra charge for changing the number of rings before voicemail picks up??
After trying all the tips I could find about changing the number of rings it takes before the voice mail picks up (the 58#, trying access setup on the vm, changing it online, etc…), I finally called the customer support line. I was put on hold for a few minutes (not a problem) only to have the customer service person return to say that he cannot change it because I would have to pay for the "upgraded" voice mail that is not included in my plan (the plan I just signed up for last month). I find it absolutely absurd that moving the number of rings for vm from 4 to 6 justifies an added cost. If anyone knows the magic on how to do this for a line that is in the Dallas Ft Worth area, I would be very appreciative. As for the extra charge to adjust your own voice mail, you can draw your own conclusion on how fair that is...
And I don't buy that it is not as simple as it appears... if you can program the thing to pickup on three rings then you should be able to adjust the forwarding and vm to pick up on 6. i have never had this problem with any other carrier.I called tech support, not customer service, and had my rings moved back a few so my answering machine would pick up first. Voicemail is for back up in case I don't answer call waiting.

Using error codes.txt and error rings don't allow parameter inputs like custom error rings?
The error ring is very useful, especially with its parameterized inputs you can specific with %s, %f and %d parameters. I'd like to do the same thing in my fixed error codes using the error ring so that I can localize them into mulitple languages, but it seems that LabVIEW error codes from project text files never detect or support the parameter inputs, you get a error ring, but no input parameters. If you use the same string in a customer error code, it gives you the parameter input but then its hardcoded and you can't localize it. What gives?
Is there some other way to configure the error rings to use a project file for the error codes but still support the parameter inputs?

Changing the number of rings to voicemail?
Is there any way to change the number of rings before voicemail picks up? Have looked through everything and can't find anything. I would like to lengthen the number of rings so I don't miss as many calls.
The way you change it is specific to your provider. Here are the instructions to change it on AT&T.
On your phone, dial *#61# and click Send.
Some information should be displayed: number that the calls are being forwarded to and the delay before the forwarding engages.
Write down the number (including +1)
Dial **61*+1xxxyyyzzzz*11*30# and hit Send. +1xxxyyyzzzz is the number you wrote down previously, 30 is the delay in seconds. The delay can be set in 5 second increments, 30 is maximum
Dial *#61# to verify that the new settings are active.
Not sure about the other providers. If I find the instructions, I'll post them.

Rebuilding site -- I know this is a common problem, but what are the steps to resolve it?

Click OK and the change is made anyway, oftentimes resulting in loss of document CSS and dynamic code, which is then unretrievable. EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING!!!
There is another code at the top of all documents using the template:
"<!-- InstanceBegin template="/Templates/index.dwt" codeOutsideHTMLIsLocked="false" -->"
However, this line has always been in my previous documents and created no problem.
The oddest thing is, I can be in an editable region of a document, click on an image to edit in Fireworks, edit, click DONE and it comes back in DW with that error. ???Looking at DW preferences, I found two Fireworks editors listed for .png, .gif, and .jpg. Maybe that was causing a problem.
