Error ring excluded in executable?

Hello,
I encountered following strange behavior: when run in LabVIEW development, following error ring does its expected job as it also acts as a control flow control so that the reference is not destroyed before the loop terminates (see picture).
Strangely, when I build an executable and execute the VI via run-time, I the reference is destroyed WHILE the loop is still running. As if the error ring was not compiled into the executable.
Is it a LV bug?
Thanks,
Peter

It seems to me that the compiler moves this part of the code outside the loop as static content. In this case, I would consider it as a bug, as the compiler shouldn't change the semantic of the program.
What do you think?
I don't see this as a bug.  There are some in LabVIEW R&D that say that using the error wire to force a data dependency is a hack.
I still go back to the fact that you should just be using your other error wire or wire your DVRs through your loop.

  • How to suppress compiler errors without excluding database objects from the "Schema Compare" tool (using VS2013/SSDT)

    Hi,
In short: How to suppress compiler errors without excluding the object from the "Schema Compare" tool ??
    A bit longer:
We have a SQL Server 2008 project in Visual Studio 2013 running SQL Server Data Tool.
An old database, with a lot of history in, has been imported into SSDT and there are many syntax errors preventing the project from compiling/running. An typical error is: "SQL70001: This statement is not recognized in this context".
Running the "faulty" scripts on the server, executes just fine. I understand that there are syntax errors and they should be rewritten, but it's not gonna happen just like that - it is a slow process over a long period of time.
I know it is possible to change Build Action to None, but that also exclude the object from appearing in the Schema Compare function/window.
So - how to ignore some compiler errors and still having the objects to appear when doing "Schema Compare" ??
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi Steven,
    Thanks for your comments.
Well, it sure does help in the future, but right now i would prefer the other way - to suppress some errors and still allow the scripts to build.
The thing is that if we "rewrite" the objects into create scripts, then we have a huge test job ahead of us + the database environments (PROD vs DEV and UAT) does not share the same AD or DB users and therefore grants is lost if dropping/creating
    objects, right!
If you drop a object before creating it, the drop will also drop the roles and grants and since they don't share user table, the create will not be able to add the permissions again. There might be a solution to that, but it is going to be very complicated
for some newbies like us. We need something we can trust.

  • Error Rings

Error rings are cool, but not cool enough.  Within each family, the errors are organized by number.  However I have neglected to memorize the error codes (worse yet, I refuse to do so).  And I hate hunting through the list for the desired description. So I built this utility that does the searching for me.  Use it as follows:
    1. Run "Set_Error_Ring.vi" (in "Error_Ring.llb").  Or better yet, put "Error_Ring.llb" in ...\Labview 2012\Projects\, then the next time you run LV, "Set_Error_Ring" will be in the "Tools" menu.
    2. Select an error ring on an open BD (single-click with the selection tool).
    3. On the FP of "Set_Error_Ring.vi", select the error family.
    4. Type in a regular expression to search list of descriptions; the error list will be filtered as you type.
    5. Double-click on the desired error in the list.  The error ring will be updated.
Note: This code breaks some rules, and may not work in the next version of LV.

Most of the BDs are open.  The only ones that are locked are simple wrappers for "L10N.vi", "Update Error Description.vi", & "Get All Errors In Family.vi" in ...\vi.lib\ErrorRing\Utility\.
Those Vis have private scope, and you're not supposed to be able to call them.  I found a way to call them, but thought it would be a bad idea to disseminate that into.
I think you need to see this from a user's perspective.  For the same reason I don't click on links or open files with execution potential in email, I won't execute a VI that has "secrets."
Besides, if you think something is "bad," what makes you think it's "good" for public consumption?

    Hi,
This is usually a SERVER SIDE DATABASE PROBLEM or SQLNET LISTENER (server side) PROBLEM.  The client side should initially be ignored and instead the server should be investigated. In rare cases, this can be caused by client
side memory or other resource problem, or a DLL version mismatch, but this is
    unlikely.
Enlist the assistance of your DBA.  Then reproduce the ORA-3113 error on your
client application.  Ask your DBA to look at the database side Alert.log and
trace files and look for ANY activity.  Any activity that coincides with your
    ORA-3113 will be a clue.

Could anybody help me in sorting out this issue. My advance thanks

    hi,
    ypur structure is bad defined.
if you want to do an insert, the DT should be
    <ns0:MT_JDBC_RECEIVER xmlns:ns0="http://file_to_jdbc">
    ___<StatementName>
    ______<dbTableName action=”INSERT”>
    _____<table>MATMAS</table>
    _______ <access>

    ______</access>
    _____</dbTableName>
    __ </StatementName>
    </ns0:MT_JDBC_RECEIVER>
the ROW field is used when you wait receive data from DB for example you execute and SQL Query from Sender communication channel "SELECT name FROM TABLE Names"
so, the result of this query would be, for example:
    <row>
    ____<name>joge</name>
    </row>
    <row>
    ____<name>pepe</name>
    </row>
    <row>
    ____<name>nicola</name>
    </row>

  • "error: command failed to execute correctly" on several packages

Last night, when I updated before shutting down, I got a few errors, as in the subject. As it was very late, I thought I'd pick it up today.
Unfortunately, the pacman log only lists one of the ones that failed as libgpg-error. The other one that I remember erroring was gawk. There were a few others, maybe four or five, but I couln't reliably recall them all, so won't guess.
Here's a new attempt to reinstall gawk with --debug. I did the same with libgpg-error and the error occurred at the same place, with very similar output, so I think the issue is the same for all failures.

pacman thinks the upgrade/reinstall was successful in that the latest version is installed.
I did a search on the forums and the only other issue that I thought was connected might be microcode not up to date, but I had followed the update instructions some time back and as far as I can tell, the microcode  is up to date.
    I have two main questions:
    1) How do I work out what's causing the error, from above?
    2) Is there a way I can work out which packages gave the error, so I can make sure they're installed properly?
    Thanks.

The following packages also had problems
    ( 2/17) upgrading glibc
error: command failed to execute correctly
    ( 3/17) upgrading binutils
error: command failed to execute correctly
    ( 4/17) upgrading coreutils
error: command failed to execute correctly
    ( 8/17) upgrading gcc
error: command failed to execute correctly
    ( 9/17) upgrading gcc-fortran
error: command failed to execute correctly
    (10/17) upgrading gcc-libs
error: command failed to execute correctly
    Does anybody have a clue?
    Thanks,

  • JCO.Server Error while trying to execute a RFC program from SAP

    Hi,
We are connecting to an external registered server program from SAP via Web Methods.
The external server program is registered with the SAP Gateway. We have created a TCP/IP RFC destination and are able to connect to the destination successfully via SM59.
An RFC function is created in SAP and is called using the syntax CALL FUNCTION "/NGN/BAPI_STRE_SEARCH_PROCESS" DESTINATION 'PRDB2B'. We have also handled the COMM_FALIURE and SYSTEM_FALIURE exceptions in the function call.
We are monitoring the gateway via SMGW and see a connection log to the RFC destination as below
    Number - 10
    LUname - dev01
    TPName - sapgw00
    User - KRAORANE
    Status - CONNECTED
    Symbolic - PRDB2B
    Conversation - 86520353
    Prot - REG
    SAP return code - 0
    CPIC rtn code - 0
The external program returns results as expected.
However sometimes the RFC fails and returns the message “JCO.Server could not create server function /NGN/BAPI_STRE_SEARCH_PROCESS”.
We are not able to figure what exactly is causing this error. Any help will be highly appreciated.

  • Why do I get a table read error in DB Tools Execute Query.vi

    Hello all,
I am using LV8 and the database connectivity toolkit.  I can connect to my server database and use the "DB Tools List Tables.vi" to pull the list of tables in the database, but when I try to use an sql command into "DB Tools Execute Query.vi" I get a : Error -2147217911 occurred at Conn Execute.vi->DatabaseTest2.vi message.  In the possible reasons it says : Possible reason(s):
Exception occured in Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers: [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Record(s) cannot be read; no read permission on 'tblShopOrders'. in Conn Execute.vi->DatabaseTest2.vi
I can open and edit this table with MSAccess.
Any ideas as to the cause of this error?

    Hey Andy,
Since my first post I have discovered a bit more (not enough yet).  Firstly, I can access all of the tables using MSAccess (causing me to assume that I have the necessary permissions).  I am using the "DB Tools Execute Query.vi" with an SQL query and "DB Tools Fetch Recordset Data.vi" objects to try to get data.  I don't get an error when connecting to the database, but the error occurs at the execute query vi.  The database has a large number of tables, and I discovered that I can retrieve data from some of them using the above method.  I looked into the user and group permissions in the MS access security settings and found that the permissions were checked for all of the tables that I could open, and not for the rest.  I checked them on the ones I want to open, but this didn't help.  I went back into Access and made sure that they were still checked and they were.  And that's as far as I have gotten so far.
Thank you for any help that you can provide.

  • Bus error in the Forte executable

    Hi,
We have an environment with forte' (ver. 3.0.G.2) running
on AIX 4.1 (The name of central server is cld_app1 and the nodemgr start
with the name cld_TDR). In our environment we are using two differnet

use one small class with two methods. One method print the date & time.
The second method communicate with a serviceobject that use MQSeries to
put/get some messages in the queues.
The project work correctly in test run and in distribuite mode.
If we export the same project (aaa) and we import in other repository
(rep2 in the same environment) the project doesn't work. Infact,
during test run forte' return the following:

  • Error in sxmb_moni when executing

    hi all,
i get error in sxmb_moni  when executing (monitor for processed xml messages)
the messages states that "system error occured during persist".how to clear this error message.

    Hi Allen
Did you configure the right interface mapping in the interface determination? Did you activate your interface mapping? Plz have a look to transaction SXI_CACHE.
this error is beacuse your mapping progrm might be wrong, just check the interface mapping test with mapping program ( it will be error) and with out mapping program ( no error will be there)
cross check your mapping program any madt fields are you missing?
    Thanks!

  • Runtime error ddic_typeleng_inconsistent when i execute st03n?

    Hi Experts,
I am getting runtime error DDIC_TYPELENG_INCOINSISTENT when i execute ST03N.
    My server ECC6.0 ---Windows---Oracle 11.2.0.3.0
    Kernel 7.21, Patch 201
    Below i attached screenshot also.
    Please Suggest.
    Thanks & Regards
    Pravin

    Hi pravin,
After 720 kernel upgrade you will get this DUMP.
The 7.20 kernel checks complex DDIC structures in more detail than the previous kernels. Short
dumps of the type DDIC_TYPELENG_INCONSISTENT may occur, for example, when calling transaction SM66.
For more detailed information about correcting these inconsistencies, see Note 1610716.
The actions described in this note can be performed anytime, but we recommend to implement it
    before the kernel switch.

  • Using error codes.txt and error rings don't allow parameter inputs like custom error rings?

The error ring is very useful, especially with its parameterized inputs you can specific with %s, %f and %d parameters.  I'd like to do the same thing in my fixed error codes using the error ring so that I can localize them into mulitple languages, but it seems that LabVIEW error codes from project text files never detect or support the parameter inputs, you get a error ring, but no input parameters.  If you use the same string in a customer error code, it gives you the parameter input but then its hardcoded and you can't localize it.  What gives?
Is there some other way to configure the error rings to use a project file for the error codes but still support the parameter inputs?
    Solved!

    Hi Mike_King
Here is a VI snippet that I created with two different approaches, in the first one I used the format into string, the second one the function search and replace.
Here are some links with information about the functions that I used.
