Error: RWI 00236 in retrieving Recordset via XIR2 Java SDK Report Engine

Hi,
I use XIR2 Rebean Webi report engine SDK and I am trying to retrieve the recordset of a webi document. I can get all sorts of other properties like SQL, data providers etc but when it comes to retrieving the recordset I get the following error message:
"Exceptio occurred  : com.businessobjects.rebean.wi.CommunicationException: The W
eb Intelligence server could not be reached. Contact your Business Objects admin
istrator. (Error: RWI 00236)"
I first instantiate the ISessionMgr then I get the enterpriseSession by logging in
Then I get the Infostore, and then I prepare my string for the webi doc to get the Infoobjects
String queryStr
// set queryStr  to your webi document
String queryStr = "SELECT * FROM CI_INFOOBJECTS WHERE SI_KIND='" + CeKind.WEBI + "' AND  SI_INSTANCE=0 AND SI_NAME='" + "MyWebiDoc" + "'";
IInfoObjects boInfoObjects = (IInfoObjects) boInfoStore.query(queryStr);
IInfoObject infoObject = (IInfoObject) boInfoObjects.get(0);
ReportEngines boReportEngines = (ReportEngines) enterpriseSession.getService("ReportEngines");
ReportEngine boReportEngine = boReportEngines.getService(ReportEngines.ReportEngineType.WI_REPORT_ENGINE);
DocumentInstance boDocumentInstance = boReportEngine.openDocument(infoObject.getID());
DataProvider dp = null;
                               dp = boDocumentInstance.getDataProviders().getItem(0);
dp.runQuery();                         //SO FAR SO GOOD
Recordset rs = null;
                   rs = dp.getResult(0); //THIS IS WHERE THE PROBLEM OCCURS
It compiles fine and runs fine up until the point while I try to retrieve the recordset
__>
Exceptio occurred  : com.businessobjects.rebean.wi.CommunicationException: The W
eb Intelligence server could not be reached. Contact your Business Objects admin
istrator. (Error: RWI 00236)
The query only retrieves 5 rows so I would tend to rule out that the problem is due to the size of the recordset.
Am I missing something?
Any idea would be very much appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Fabio

I know that "Recordset"  is an interface therefore cannot be directly instantiated.
With this in mind, would the following make sense in Java?
Recordset rs = null;
                   rs = dp.getResult(0);
(dp is a Dataprovider data type)
I checked the object model: the Dataprovider class has got the method
"getResult(in flowIndex: int): Recordset"
so it looks like it can instantiate the Recordset interface.For a simple data provider I believe the index integer input parameter is 0.
(1 would return array out of bound).
I was also thinking of the QueryString I used
String queryStr = "SELECT * FROM CI_INFOOBJECTS WHERE SI_KIND='" + CeKind.WEBI + "' AND SI_INSTANCE=0 AND SI_NAME='" + "MyWebiDoc" + "'";
I would have thought it is fine since I can get other properites of the dataprovider but could there be something not right in the query string as far as the recordset is concerned? Any other ideas?
Thanks in advance.

  • Error: RWI 00223 when trying to view a Web Intelligence report in Infoview

    Hi,
    I have a problem when I try to view a webi report in infoview, I get the error message: "Could not get page number. (Error RWI 00223) (Error: INF)". It is possible to modify the report, and run the report from the development application.
    I am using BOXI release 2, SP 5 on a windows server. Tomcat. Java 1.5.
    I have tried to find an answer in the forums and have for instance tried to increase the heap size, it did not help. I have also read something about replacing jar files in the desktoplaunch folder in tomcat. Though, these files are not really covered by the ones found in ..\Business Objects\common\3.5\java\lib. So it does not feel like I can just replace them?
    Do you have any other ideas?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Emma,
    Thanks for the information.
    Could you please review the following solution and information.
    BusinessObjects XI Release 2 is deployed in a distributed environment. Only the WCA.NET component of BusinessObjects XI Release 2 is installed on the IIS server.
    When attempting to view or edit a Web Intelligence document in the Java Report Panel, a "WIJ2002" error occurs.
    This error does not occur when BusinessObjects XI Release 2 is fully installed on the IIS server.
    Cause
    The TraceLog.dll file is not installed when only the Web Component Adapter is installed on the IIS server.
    Resolution
    Copy the TraceLog.dll file from a full installation of BusinessObjects XI Release 2 to the computer that has only the WCA component installed.
    Background
    This error occurs when the Java applet attempts to send a POST request. The IIS error log files show an HTTP 500 error with POST request type on the cdzisapi.wis file.
    The detailed error message thrown by the Java applet in the browser is similar to the following:
    "http://excalibur:80/businessobjects/enterprise115/cdzisapi.wis? java.lang.RuntimeException: java.io.IOException: Server returned HTTP response code: 500 for URL: http://excalibur:80/businessobjects/enterprise115/cdzisapi.wis at sun.net.www.protocol.http.HttpURLConnection.getInputStream(Unknown Source) at sun.plugin.net.protocol.http.HttpURLConnection.getInputStream(Unknown Source) at com.businessobjects.wp.cpi.CPIConnection.postRequest(CPIConnection.java:440) at com.businessobjects.wp.xml.XMLViaHttp.loadScript(XMLViaHttp.java:144) at com.businessobjects.wp.xml.XMLViaHttp.initInstance(XMLViaHttp.java:971) at com.businessobjects.wp.xml.XMLSession.load(XMLSession.java:157) at com.businessobjects.wp.xml.XMLSession.load(XMLSession.java:45) at com.businessobjects.wp.om.OMSessionLoader.load(OMSessionLoader.java:29) at com.businessobjects.wp.tc.TCMain.initClient(TCMain.java:1431) at com.businessobjects.wp.tc.thread.InitAppletRunner.run(InitAppletRunner.java:81) at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source) at com.businessobjects.wp.cpi.CPIConnection.postRequest(CPIConnection.java:444) at com.businessobjects.wp.xml.XMLViaHttp.loadScript(XMLViaHttp.java:144) at com.businessobjects.wp.xml.XMLViaHttp.initInstance(XMLViaHttp.java:971) at com.businessobjects.wp.xml.XMLSession.load(XMLSession.java:157) at com.businessobjects.wp.xml.XMLSession.load(XMLSession.java:45) at com.businessobjects.wp.om.OMSessionLoader.load(OMSessionLoader.java:29) at com.businessobjects.wp.tc.TCMain.initClient(TCMain.java:1431) at com.businessobjects.wp.tc.thread.InitAppletRunner.run(InitAppletRunner.java:81) at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source) Additional info:case 302675238 . You wouldn't be creating the AD user via code.  You'd have the AD user created automatically when you configure the Windows AD authentication in BusinessObjects Enterprise using the Central Management Console.  Enterprise will connect to AD and create users automatically.Sincerely,Ted Ueda

    Hello Team,
    One of our webI report is giving folllowing error when refreshed.
    BOXI2: Failed to create PDF, Reason: The Web Intelligence server could not be reached. Contact your Business Objects administrator. (Error: RWI 00236) EX1:FatalException occured. This error only comes when a particular combination of values are entered through prompts. e.g. for rep A and date B the problem exists where as for rep A and date other than B, this error doesnt come.
    During testing, this error did not appeared even for rep A and date B combination a couple of time. It has been more than a week I am doing analysis on this.
    Please help me to find out the reason for fixing the issue. Please let me know if you need additional information.
    Regards,
    Sai

    Hi,
    I am not very sure why this happened as earlier said our issue was the similar like your we are not able to save report in the pdf. SO we investigated and found two reason.
    1)  in the particular column for specific value  like " sbdneujdnd" (Space and value in the column) we were not able to save report in the pdf and wrap text is checked for this column.If we exclude this value from the report  i am able to save report in the pdf.
    2)  we have unchecked the wrap text and with this value is in the column and we can save this report in the pdf.
    We have raised this case with SAP Support.I will let  you know once SAP get back to us.
    Thanks,
    Amit

    You can reclaim storage token stack space by sending Close action to any document you're done with.
    You can increase the storage token stack space by editing the Web Services Provider app dswsbobje.war, the file WEB-INF\classes\webi.properties.  Look inside that file for the storaget token stack size setting.

  • RWI 00236 error while opening report in PDF mode

    Hi All,
    I'm getting the RWI 00236 error while the report is opened in PDF mode.I have searched on this error but couldn't got the answer so far.My report is quite a large one and i wont get any error while running simple reps.If this is something to do with temp files deletion at server side ,pls let me know which temp files needs to be deleted bcoz there quite few temp files at server level.Ofter getting this error msg ,the report browser hangs up and i needs to logout completely from infoview.
    Im using BO X1r2 version and service pack is SP4.

    Hi,
    Are you able to open other reports in PDF Mode or not
    If you are not able to open any report in PDF format then try to follow  below mentioned steps.
    1. Open Adobe Acrobat Reader. Click Edit > Preferences.
    2. Click Internet in the Categories column of the Preferences property sheet.
    3. Choose Display PDF in browser check box as shown below.
    4. Click Ok, Adobe will reconfigure the setting, close Reader.
    5. Now, when we view in pdf format in IE, we might see one  message
    6. So, when IE is launched, go to Tools>Manage Add-ons>Enable or Disable Add-ons and then enable
    "Adobe PDF Reader Link Helper" add-on. Click Ok, restart IE.
    Cheers,
    Suresh Aluri.

  • OS Error 665(failed to retrieve text for this error. Reason: 15105) while performing backup

    Hi everyone,
    I am performing a backup of sharepoint 2010 content database on my sql 2008 std edition which has file stream enabled and I experience the following problem.
    When the backup reaches 40% (both when I do it via SSMS or via Maintenance plan) I get the following error:
    BackupIoRequest::ReportIoError: write failure on backup device 'K:\SQL Backup\SP_Content2010.bak'. Operating system error 665(failed to retrieve text for this error. Reason: 15105).
    Error: 18210, Severity: 16, State: 1.
    I also tried backup the database on a different disk to make sure the problem is not there, but the same error appeared when the backup reached 40 %. I also executed DBCC CHECKDB against the database but it run successfully.
    I could not find any other relevant source what the problem might be.
    Any help will be very much appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hello,
    Honestly it's going to come down to testing and root cause analysis. I don't have a single shot answer for you unfortunately.
    I would start by doing the hotfix on that KB since you had OS Error 665 (again, you can run net helpmsg 665 to see the os error message). The SQL Server error 3041 (select * from sys.messages where message_id = 3041 and language_id = 1033) is "BACKUP failed
    to complete the command %.*ls. Check the backup application log for detailed messages." Error 18210 is "%s: %s failure on backup device '%s'. Operating system error %s.". This points me back to the filesystem or storage.
    Could you P->V the server during a maintenance window so you can test? The biggest thing here is that you don't have any valid backups so you're running the risk of losing data.
    While not a method I use, you could stop SQL Server and filesystem copy the database and filestream share in the interim.

  • Error while trying to retrieve text for error ORA-12154

    Hello,
    I try to install php 5.1.2 on a WIN2003 server and IIS6 with the OCi8 extension without success from several days.
    On my server I've a 920 oracle client and the 10.1 instant client, I copy the tnsnames.ora in the instant client's directory.
    I've declare many environnement variables :
    - NLS_LANG : AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8MSWIN1252
    - TNS_ADMIN : E:\...\oracle\instantclient_10_1
    - ORA_NLS33 : E:\..\oracle\920\ocommon\nls\ADMIN\DATA
    With the php command line the oci_connect function correctly works : the php command line use the instant client's tnsnames.ora. I can query with success my database.
    When I try to load a web php script (the same as the php command line script) I have the following error " Error while trying to retrieve text for error ORA-12154" ( oci_connect( $user , $pass, $sid ) . The $sid variable have the value of an alias declared in the tnsnames.ora.
    If I replace the sid's alias by something like this " (DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS_LIST=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=xx.xx.xx.xx)(PORT=1521)))(CONNECT_DATA=(SID=xx)" in the oci_connect function, I have another error : Error while trying to retrieve text for error ORA-12705.
    A web page with the phpinfo function displays the following messages about oci8 extension : It seems to be correct.
    oci8
    OCI8 Support enabled
    Revision $Revision: 1.269.2.8 $
    Active Persistent Connections 0
    Active Connections 0
    Temporary Lob support enabled
    Collections support enabled
    Do you have any idea ? Thanks a lot

    The web server is not seeing the Oracle environment correctly. You need to set PATH to the instant client libraries. ORA_NLS33 is not used for Oracle 10g clients. Perhaps you have some library conflict with two versions of Oracle on the machine?

    Hi,
    I guess you can try some of these:
    - Make sure you're not missing an entry inside your tnsnames.ora file. Thin driver does not require the information inside that file, as opposed to Weblogic's OCI driver. If you are able to connect to the DB using a thin driver, then the problem is most probably (WL)driver-related.
    - Make sure you've properly configured the DB user / password inside your weblogic.properties (config.xml if WL6+).
    - Make sure you're able to access all drivers and classes required (PATH, CLASSPATH, etc...)
    - Make sure the OCI driver version you are using is fully compatible with the Oracle (server) version you are pointing to.
    - Try to access the DB user through some other client (for instance, SQLPlus*).
    Hope this is of some help,
    Freddy.

  • Error while trying to retrieve reports

    Hi ,
    I am getting the below error while trying to retrieve reports.
    "5203:ADM Error proceessing results from query:The dataform grid is invalid. Verify that all members selected are in Essbase. "
    Can any one help me know the cause of this error and how to get rid of it?
    Thanks in advance

    It sounds like you have a grid (visible or hidden) with an invalid member name in it. IT could be caused by the member being hard coded into a row or column and then the member being deleted or renamed in the outline. The only way to fix it is to check each member anme in the grids and determine what changed.

    AJC MAILTRIGGER STH Error while trying to retrieve text for error ORA-03113 (DBD ERROR: OCIStmtExecute)

    An ORA-03113 error would mean that the connection to the database no longer exists so any attempt to get the error message from the the database would result in an error. I think the real issue might be why was the session interrupted.
    03113, 00000, "end-of-file on communication channel"
    Depending on the front-end tool a pointer error or failure to properly terminate a string could result in corrupting the message to Oracle.
    There have been numerous bugs over the years that have resulted in this error message being returned. I notice that the Oracle version, platform, edition, and client tool set are not mentioned in the post. All this would potentially be important information for someone to recognize what might be the problem.
    I would look very closely at the code " at hcommon.pm line 1277 "

  • Error while trying to retrieve text for error ORA-12705

    I am getting the message "Error while trying to retrieve text for error ORA-12705" when trying to connect to a remote oracle database on the network.
    I can access this database using:
    sqlplus username/password@database
    from a dos prompt.
    For some reason I can't connect when using PHP (through my local Apache2 server on Windows XP).
    'phpinfo' says oracle in enabled (installed as per: http://www.oracle.com/technology/pub/notes/technote_php_instant.html), so I'm pretty sure the problem isn't with php itself.
    My guess is it's something with Apache, and maybe environment variables or user permissions or instantclient (10).
    All the folders, from instantclient to the Apache server have full permissions set for "Everyone" which I would assume includes this mysterious "nobody" user I've read about.
    As for instantclient, I have placed that "tnsnames.ora" file from the oracle server there, and that hasn't changed much.
    I've tried setting, unsetting, editing (environment variables):
    LD_LIBRARY_PATH
    ORACLE_HOME
    ORACLE_SID
    TNS_ADMIN
    NLS_LANG
    ORA_NLS33
    in both the system environment, and even with PHP's "putenv" function. (Note: and restarting each time I changed a system var.)
    In PHP i'm using:
    $c = oci_connect("username","pasword", "database")
    I've tried OCILogon instead of oci_connect
    For "database" I've tried:
    - using the path to the oracle db: //Oracle1/e/oracle/ora81
    - mapping the path to x: drive and using: x:/oracle/ora81
    - using the name of the database by itself
    - using the name of the database underscored with the database name
    - using "(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST = host)(PORT=1521))(CONNECT_DATA=(SERVER=DEDICATED)(SERVICE_NAME=database)))"
    I have tried everything I can find from:
    the Oracle installation page: http://www.oracle.com/technology/pub/notes/technote_php_instant.html
    the Oracle troubleshooting page: http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/php/htdocs/php_troubleshooting_faq.html#connect
    and these forumswith no results, just the same error.
    I have also spent about 16 hours Googling for help, and nothing.
    Can someone please tell me, what exactly does a user using:
    Windows XP
    Apache 2
    PHP
    intantclient10
    Oracle 8i (on a remote server)
    need to do to connect to Oracle before jumping off a bridge?

    Turns out Oracle was previously installed on this company laptop :(
    I deleted any 'Oracle' mention in the registry with 'regedit' (from the command line) using the Find option. Not sure if it's always a good idea to do that, but I backed up the important stuff first anyway.
    I uninstalled and reinstalled everything using the same guide mentioned above, and then it worked.
    Now I can be friends with Oracle again.
    Would be nice if the "Deinstall" removed the registry entries that caused this issue...

    The problem is solved after exprting the parameter ORACLE_SID=<database_name>
    in Weblogic startup script.
