Error: unable to checkin Access denied by records manager

Hi,
Whenever i am checking in a document applying acl, its giving me error as "unable to checkin Access denied by records manager". Without applying acl its checkin successfully.
For acl i have used these config variables.
SpecialAuthGroups=Securitygroup
AccessListPrivilegesGrantedWhenEmpty=true
I have to use acl. Why i am getting this error?

Issue faced:
When i run the page for the first time data gets inserted into custom table perfectly on clicking upload button,
but when clicked on add another button on the same page (which basically redirects to the same upload page and increments the attachment id by 1)
i am getting the below error:
Error
Unable to perform transaction on the record.
Cause: The record contains stale data. The record has been modified by another user.
Action: Cancel the transaction and re-query the record to get the new data.
Have spent entire day to resolve this issue but no luck.
Any help on this will be appreciated, let me know if i am going wrong anywhere.

Message reading error opening document and access denied.

Every time I try and open a document I get a message that says error opening document and access denied.

What kind of document? What platform? Which program?

Hey all,
I have an employee that is on windows 2000 that can open most of his adobe files. Some of them will get this error message:
Error Opening Document. Access denied.
The employee was getting the files emailed to him. He opens them and saves them to his C drive. These files are encrypted but he never set them up for that. The adobe files that he can open are not. He is using version 7 and he uninstalled it and reinstalled the most recent version 7. Still has the same problem.
Haha anyone know how to get these files open or why this is occuring?

You will need to check with whoever created the encrypted files that are being emailed.
Encryption can not be legally broken.

must be my fickle computer! My Adobe is quite new so I do not think it is
outdated.

HT1923 Reinstalling iTunes, but unable to delete C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\. I have admin status, but I get an error saying "Destination Folder Access Denied"

Following instruction to reinstall iTunes, uninstalled iTunes and related components, verified all deleted. Need to delete C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\ manually, but am getting and error that says "Destination Folder Access Denied". I do have admin status on my user account. What's next? Many of the files in these directories are Mobile Me and iCloud, should I uninstall those too?

I have the same problem and it looks like others do too. I have spent far too much time trying to find a solution but nothing has worked so far.
Does "end windows explorer for the processing menu" mean to end explorer.exe in the processes window in Windows Task Manager? Does "start new task" means File-New Task in Windows Task Manager? If so, the solution does not work for me.
Any other suggestions would be deeply appreciated.

Unable to Open Project Site Access Denied Issue (Project Manager)

We got an issue that one project manager is having 12 projects, in that she can able to view 5 projects-- project sites but remaining 7 projects --- she is not able to open the project site (access denied) error is throwing when she try to open.
She is the project manager of the 12 projects and having project manager permissions on the project sites.
Please suggest any solution for this.

I believe I've found the fix for this issue. After opening a ticket with MS support and not getting anywhere with this issue I decided to do an in-depth review of all the Project and SharePoint 2013 CU's starting with December 2013 to September 2014.
To my amazement buried inside the July 2014 CU was a hotfix for this issue described almost word for word. (I will list all the relevant KB's at the end) I contacted my support engineer inquiring about this hotfix and he stated it wasn't relevant because
the "Synchronize Project Web App permissions to Project Site" was not failing or even generating any warnings in our Prod or Test environments. I stated that is not always an indicator as ULS doesn't always catch all relevant errors.
I informed him that I also found a second hotfix pertaining to the same issue released August 2014, apparently the first hotfix in July didn't totally resolve the issue and a second hotfix was released. He was adamant that this would not resolve
our issue and he requested or production databases because he was unable to replicate the issue in his test environment. The reason, you may wonder, is because he was at a higher patch level that our farm.... Obviously! His farm had the most current
CU which included the hotfixes from July and August. Apparently he didn't see the flaw in his logic.
I decided to install the September CU on our test farm. Low and behold that fixed the problem, even though MS support stated the hotfix was not relevant to our issue. I learned a long time ago to take MS support comments as suggestions instead
of gospel truth, this isn't the first time they have confidently given me erroneous information.
We are currently doing further testing to verify that this CU didn't break something else. Unfortunately these rollups are not GA and Microsoft is very clear that you should only install them if the hotfixes pertain directly to your issue.
Finding the hotfixes was a chore as Microsoft loves to create multiple KB's for the same thing and then nest (bury) them so you have to dig through four or five KB's to find the relevant fix. I'll save you the trouble and list them below.

Hm, it looks like the file might be open in another application. If you see that file accesss is intermittently denied, you should try disabling the Microsoft FindFast utility.

Are you calling a webservice from within an Xacute Query for your applet? On first glance, it looks like a web service call is being rejected due to security permissions. If you have a webservice call (or HTTP post/get), can you test it separately with the same credentials as the webpage is using?

Can't open a pdf file: there was an error opening this document access denied

Could anyone help in this problem I am facing. I have scanned documents as PDF and they opened nicely but after I renamed the files I am not able to open them. I get the message 'There was an error opening this document. Access denied'. When I try to copy/paste the document I also get the message 'cannot copy accounting 3: access is denied. Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and the file is not currently in use'. I resterated Windows but still get same message although new files I scan open nicely even if I rename and/or copy/paste. Thank you

There was an error opening document. Access denied. Cant open pdf attached to emails

I just upgraded to Acrobat Reader x and can't open files attached to emails in Outlook 2010. If I save the file, I can open it. I assume it has something to do with protected view or such but can't find where to change settings. I can open .doc and .xlsx files attached to emails so it seems to be only an issue with .pdf files attached to emails in Outlook. Suggestions?

To make things simple for you, here are two ways for you fix the problem:
A. Fix One PC
Launch Adobe Acrobat Reader X
Go to: Edit > Preferences...
Click on "General" in the left pane.
Uncheck "Enable Protected Mode at startup"
You will prompted with a dialog box to remind you to close the application for the change to go into effect. Click Yes.
Click OK to save your change.
Exit Adobe Reader
B. Fix Several PCs in Your Organization
Following the above steps aren't practical if you have Adobe Acrobat installed on 1,000+ computers in 30 regional offices! Push this registry setting using your standard software deployment software.

"Standard Checkin" link also has Records Manager fields

Hi Experts,
I installed URM on Oracle UCM 10g.
When I want to create a content through New Check In--> IDC--> Standard Check-In, the checkin page shows all the fields related to Records manager also. e.g. record activation date , record expiration date etc.
Is it normal behaviour? I suppose Standard check in page should not show URM specific fields.
Same is the case for creating Non Records also.
what is the difference in the checkin screen for creating a Record, a Non- Record and a Standard Checkin ? Could anyone throw some light please?

The default function of adding a new metadata field to the system will have it show on all content pages like check-in. So URM creating new fields will do the same thing. the developers of URM could code that differently I suppose but they created the Simple Profiles component (which mirrors the Profiles and rules features of normal UCM but easier) to allow for creation of profiles and rules to hide fields when you desire.
Standard profiles and rules are not suggested by URM developers since they intend URM users to use SimpleProfiles to do the same things. (though regular rules should work too but will be confusing since SimpleProfiles are expected)
So yes that is the normal function and to work around it you will need to create rules/profiles.

Keep Getting error : There was an error opening this document Access Denied.

Ok after update my adobe reader is giving the following error. I have reloaded the download, I used the download fixer, I changed the security setting to under preferences, and advanced security and unchecked the enable protected mode at start up. Ive restarted my computer.... trying to create document in word and then save as PDF so I can email to printer or to another computer on older system to avoid losing fonts etc. HELP .... I use this feature a lot and was working till the darn update.

You get this when trying to do what?
On what operating system?
Using what Reader version?
