Hello,
I'm attempting to connect to Essbase from Visual Studio 2005 with the use of the DataServer component.
I'm using a URL;
http://<myserver>:13080/aps/APS
This URL seems to be valid if I plug it into a browser in that it returns a page listing the following information;
Hyperion Provider Services
Hyperion Provider Services - Release 9.3.1.0.0 Build 168
ESS_ES_HOME: C:\Hyperion\AnalyticProviderServices
domain file: C:\Hyperion\AnalyticProviderServices/data/domain.db
essbase.properties: C:\Hyperion\AnalyticProviderServices/bin/essbase.properties
log console enabled: false
log file enabled: true
log level: WARN
log file name: C:/Hyperion/AnalyticProviderServices/bin/apsserver.log
is trace enabled: false
However, if I try and use this same URL in the DataServer component (using the 'Sign On' task) I'm shown the following error;
'Unable to send the request. Verify the URL "http://<myserver>:13080/aps/APS" is valid and the servlet is running'
So, any suggestions are much appreciated!
Many thanks.

Hi John,
Yes, you're right. I've now installed the habnet server on the machine hosting Essbase and can access it via browser using;
http://<myserver>::22080/EssbaseObjects/Servlet
and this seems to be showing signs of life as it returns the following to the browser;

However.... when I try to connect using the DataServer I'm shown the same error message as beofre except for the change of URL. Can you remember if there were any other settings that needed to be made?
I've also noticed the line above ' EDSUrl=http://localhost:11080/eds/EssbaseEnterprise (optional) ', this says 'the page cannot be displayed' if i try to access it from the habnet machine but I'm really not sure if this is relevant or not.
Many thanks again for your time.

  • How do I display line numbers? I am using the International Digital Publishing Forum EPUB Validator and the error messages refer to line numbers. Thanks, Earl

    The validator gives me error messages messages that refer to line numbers and positions - very unhelpful. I need to be able to display the line numbers in the reader to find the places where the errors are. Can anybody point me in the right direction? MUch appreciated. Earl

    Adobe Reader can't display epub files. Adobe Reader can't display line numbers.

  • URGENT - Error "Unable to open file because it isn't a valid Keynote document" - and there is no index file (so the usually suggested solution doesn't work)

    Hi there,
    As you see in the heading, I am getting the error "Unable to open file because it isn't a valid Keynote document". There has been a number of threads on this and there seems to be a usual work around that works in many cases, by changing the file extension to .zip and then looking for the index file and making some more extension changes...unfortunately, in my case (and it also happened to others), there is no index file, so the usually suggested solution doesn't work...Can someone please help? I am working on a tight deadline and would like to try and recover the file.
    Thanks a lot in advance.
    Best,
    Just a regular apple user
    PS: any other presentation opens fine in Keynote (09)

    Have you tried to create a new Keynote Presentation? Do you have another previously saved Keynote file you can try to open? These will make sure it is a problem with this specific presentation and not the whole program.
    Try to delete the Keynote Preferences. They are located in the folder Macintosh HD>Users>your username>Library>Preferences and titled com.apple.iWork.Keynote.plist.
    Your profile shows that you are still on Mc OS 10.6.6, is that true? You might try to update to 10.6.7 as I believe that there was a font issue fixed in this update (I don't know for sure since I am still on 10.5.8).
    Try those and report back and we will see what we can come up with.

    My iPad says that she is busy and is unable to accept my request even when everything is closed and nothing is being used. What might be the problem here?  3 times my iPad has crashed while nothing was open or running and a small loading wheel would be moving signifying that the thing was loading something without permission.  Even when the dang thing was on my personal wireless service that I pay for.

    similar to what is happening to me....the difference is, after restoring itunes detect ipod and ask to restore again and again....
    I know it may look kinda stupid but: just leave the ipod there for about 2 minutes, that's about the time my itunes is taking to detect my ipod...if it doesn't work, try connecting ur ipod to other computer with itunes (no need to sync, just to check if itunes will recognize) to check if the problem is with the ipod or with the itunes and/or computer.

  • When I run ical on my mac I get the error:   The server responded with an error. The request for account "Yahoo!" failed. The server responded with "504" to operation CalDAVAccountRefreshQueueableOperation.

    When I run ical on my mac I get the error:
    The server responded with an error.
    The request for account “Yahoo!” failed.
    The server responded with
    “504”
    to operation CalDAVAccountRefreshQueueableOperation.
    I hit "go online" and almost immediately I get the same message again.  Any ideas?

    I am tired of how Yahoo has gotten worse and worse. It is the ONLY account I get problems with DAILY (even after removing and re-adding). AOL will act up once in a while not taking a saved password but accepting it when OK is clicked.... But Yahoo is always responding with such errors.... Today's calendar error is:
    The request (CalDAVAccountRefreshQueueableOperation) for account “Yahoo” failed.

  • Adobe acrobat error - unable to send mail

    I`m using Win 7 pro 64bit with acrobat 9.0 pro 32 bit.
    I am now unable to send .PDF`s from either the toolbar or from the File, attach mail.
    The system says Ädobe acrobat error - unable to send mail"
    Any hep would be appreciated.
    Many thanks

    I don't remember much of Acrobat 9...
    What email client are you using?  Are the Acrobat preferences configured to use that email client?  Is it running when you try to send that document?

  • Syslog server showing: Fatal error: : unable to send NTP packet to ::ffff:172.23.254.89.

    I am working o a case where a syslog server is showing the following log:
    "DW2WLC01.SYS: *sntpReceiveTask: #SNTP-3-FATAL_ERROR_OCCURED: sntp_main.c:233 Fatal error: : unable to send NTP packet to ::ffff:172.23.254.89."
    I have been doing reasearch around but I have not found cases related or log explanations, the only thing I found related is bug CSCug11763. However this bug doesn't offer further details.
    5508 WLC is running 7.6.100
    Anyone has any idea about the possible meanings of that log?

    Hi, Please try to disable IPv6 and then check it:
    (WLC) >config ipv6 disable
    If still same error comes then  please raise a TAC case.

    I am getting below error message while search crawl in sharepoint foundation 2010 search for only .VSD files and not for any other docs type.
    The filtering process could not be initialized when trying to process this item. Verify that the file extension is a known type and the item is not corrupt.
    I have installed the Microsoft Filter Pack 2.0 in search server but still i am getting the same error.

    Rashmi Singhal

    Hi Rashmi,
    1. Checked the file extension is added or not to the search file types.
    2. Checked file name has any invalid characters.
    3. Resetting the crawl index and run a full crawl .
    Best Regards.

  • The request has not yet been updated into the data targets.

    Request successfully loaded into PSA - start further update
    Diagnosis
    The request has as data target "only PSA". It arrived there successfully.
    System Response
    The request has not yet been updated into the data targets.
    Procedure
    You can now trigger the update manually. The final target is determined in the request tables. You do not have to make any further settings.
    I am getting this error daily. In RSMO screen status tab option called u201CProcess manuallyu201D, so am doing this manually daily. Is there any solution to fix this problem permanently?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Praveen Yagnamurthy.

    Hi Praveen,
    Dont you have Process chains in Production system for loading thid data. If so its better to schedule the PC rather go for manual loading. In Prod system you will not be able to change. You will have the make the changes in the Development Environment & collect these changes in a TR & then move them into Test environment first to make sure it is working fine. And then once it is tested, you can move the TR to Prod sys.
    Hope it helps!
    Regards,
    Pavan
