Error usingEXE/Building Installer, and cFP .iak error

I built my app and created an .EXE, however when I run it, I get the error(see image error1.jpg) "Cannot Load the browse dialog. Some necsessary components are missing.to correct the problem, reinstall the driver software that is associated with this control." when I try to bring up the Filedpoint browse dialog. This when ra on the computer with LV8.5 full devel. version. If I just run the VI, everything works fine.
Also, when I try to build an installer, I get these errors: (see image)
And then the final question, whenever I shut down labview, I have to open MAX, create a new .iak file, "find devices" for each FP-device and then press "start" so I can see the current values. Then I have to remove the FPdevices from my project, and readd them (new targets and devices), (importing the Fieldpoint configuration does not work). then it all works again untill I close labview. might it be associated with the fact that I cannot save the config file in the project? (see image) when I close the window again, the configpath is gone and when I clock add it says "warning, error saving file".
thanx.

I've just found temporary (let's say) solutions:
About my exe:
test editor for cFP, so I have to allow user to set cFP chanel (let's say DO1), set description, and create table of boolean values.
I want to use cFP "Browse" dialog, but:
there is a VI called "FP get Configuration Info.vi" (Functions>>Measurements I/O>> FieldPoint>> Advanced>>cFP Get Configuration Info)
Set path to *.iak file, define configuration name, communication resource (MAX's cFP name) and device name (l.s: cFPAI-111@3) and operation  get item list (long string)
It will get us all input adreses at module cFP-AI-111 and next module and so on...
So user will operate at ring or listbox to select cFP channel what is, hmm... proper solution when he isn't connected to cFP at my exe.

I tried removing the QuickTime program, but a window appeared telling me that a fatal error  ccurred during installation and I could not remove the program.
I think we'd better see if some other application (other than QuickTime itself) has dropped old QuickTime componentry in the system files on the PC. (If there's a version mismatch between the old componentry and the "QuickTime proper" componentry, that can create those symptoms.)
So we'll go looking for the older QuickTime componentry in the most common locations for it to be stashed.
First we'll need to change some view options on the PC.
    1. Open My Computer from the desktop or Start menu.
    2. In the Tools menu, click Folder Options.
    3. Click the View tab.
    4. In the "Advanced settings" pane under "Hidden files and folders" make sure that the "Show hidden files and folders" option is selected, and the "Hide extensions for known file types" option is unchecked.
    5. Click OK.
Now in My Computer, open your C drive.
    Open the "Windows" folder.
    Open the "system32" folder.
What files and/or folders can you see in there with QuickTime in the file/folder name? (In a standard installation of QuickTime, you should see precisely two files ... QuickTime.qts and QuickTimeVR.qtx ... and no QuickTime folders whatsoever.)

In regards to needing to put in the CDs, LabVIEW will ask you to do so unless you actually transfer the installers to your computer.  When you install LabVIEW, it uses the installers on the CD to install to your machine.  It won't copy the installer files to your computer by default, as this would waste several GBs of space.  You would have to physically copy them from the disk or download them from ni.com/donwloads to get them on your desktop.  (This is true for any program, which is why you need installation disks to install or build installers unless you have the installer files on your computer.)
In regards to the error, which XML file in the link I posted previously matched yours?  Revision A or Revision B?  Can you please post the precise error with Revision A replacing your XML file and the precise error with Revision B replacing your XML file?  I would expect the file paths listed to be slightly different.
Could you also post the precise path of the "NI .NET Framework 2.0 Language Pack x86 Installer {F8ECD2D6-659C-49EB-8454-5F8F7B526FCF}.xml" file on your computer?

I have looked through some resources and found that this code sometimes occurs because the source files to include have disappeared from the installer properties window.  Please check that your files are still present and in the correct place and try to build the installer again.

  • Creating Installer and DAQ-MX: Error Code

    Hi,
I found this question was asked a few times back in 2009 and 2007 but the answesr on the forum don't really help me - partially because they say : oh it just worked.
I'm trying to craete my first installer for a LabView project.
It is simply a DAQ assistant for an NI Card. I am trying to move my application from a comptuer with LabView to the one with the card = without labview and I'd rather not install labview on both.
When I include DAQ-MX and the Run Time module I get this error code fro the installer.
Visit the Request Support page at ni.com/ask to learn more about resolving this problem. Use the following information as a reference:

Type 'DefaultFull' of product 'NI Security Update KB5Q5FJ4QW for the LabVIEW Run-Time Engine 8.2' is not found on the source distribution. Insert the correct source distribution or select another product type.
I think it means that it's not finding the CD from where to get this install wizard? Is that it? Well it is never prompting me for a media where to find this file... so I'm stumped.
Any help would be appreciate, I'll reply on the weekend too!
    Thanks!
Also, I<m trying to craete an installer for a .net application. Anything I need to know in particular for that? i.e. where do I include my .dll file? Does that go in the source files?
    Thanks.
I've attached the only file in my project that I am trying to install...
    Lol.

Hi, the message "...KB5Q5FJ4QW" basically means knowledge base (KB) 5Q5FJ4QW. You can check it here. In summary, the NI Security Update force all users to be administrators, for security purposes, otherwise their applications won't run. The article states that you have two option:
1 - Download and install NI Security Update 5Q5FJ4QW from Drivers and Updates to each machine. OR
2 - After installing the update to a development machine, rebuild an application installer that includes the LabVIEW or LabWindows/CVI Run-Time Engine and run it on each target machine.
    I hope this helps

  • Oracle WebCenter Interaction 10.3.0 Installation and start up error

    Hi,
I am trying to install the Java version of Oracle WCI 10.3.0 on Windows 7. I know Windows 7 of not officially supported. I was able to successfully install on Windows XP using the installation wizard.
However, for Windows 7 - I can't use installation wizard because when the wizard does not ask me to choose between Java and .NET installations, and by default it selects .NET. So, I had to use silent installation and was able to successfully install.
I am getting the below error (logs from portalserver.log) when I try to start the WebLogic server or run the portal diagnostic tool.
'weblogic.kernel.Default (self-tuning)'     com.plumtree.uiinfrastructure.diagnostic.reporter.Reporter     FAILED TO INITIALIZE SYSTEM. YOU CANNOT PROGRESS BEYOND THIS POINT. <ptLogMsgEnd>

Does anyone have seen this type of error and know how to resolve?
    Thanks.

I have been dealing with this for the past 2 weeks as well. It turns out that the diagnostics, and Weblogic (in my case) think that the portal is trying to run on an unsupported RedHat OS version. I was able to get around this by altering the following 2 files...
I added the parameter: -Dos.name="windows 2003" This tels the OS check that it's running on Windows 2003. I found this little tip in the following link: http://www.function1.com/2009/12/running-wci-10gr3-on-windows-2008/ It talks about Windows 2008, but seems to work for Windows 7 as well.

    ) else (

    goto end
Also, note that you probably had to install the components in silent mode. This did not install all the services correctly. I was able to get around this by going back into the installation, and choosing the individual components to install. The a link above also mentions the config manager, and how to get this working as well.

  • Fix nonstop LR 1.1 errors  "an error occured while exporting" and "an unknown error occured"

I downloaded Lightroom v1.1 & imported images. At least lightroom 1.1 could import images without crashing due to "out of meoory errors".
Then attempted to develop various images. It did not take long to start having major Lightroom 1.1 errors.
"An error occured while exporting", and no image created.
Or constant "an unknown error occured" while trying to view and develop.
Once again these RAW files can be viewed, and converted by Canon Digital Photo Professional & Adobe Photoshop. So the problme is the same old major flaws in Lighroom that make it unusable.
OK, I accept one fact. Lightroom is alpha or beta-ware and not in any way ready to be sold for public use.
Adobe suckered me for $199 for Lightroom. If Adobe will refund my money I will buy future Adobe products. If not, I am finished with Adobe.

With your attitude, I'm not surprised...if you want help, porvide the basics needed for troubleshooting-you know, OS, system version, what kind of files, what kind of HSs, where the images are being stored...otherwise, kindly buzz off. This is a User to User forum so the only people seeing your attitude is other users and we get kinda tired having of useless posts cluttering the boards. And your's is nothing but useless.

  • Useless and vague error while building installer

So I am trying to build an installer for one of my .exe's that I have built.  The .exe works just fine but when I start to try to build an installer I get this unusually vague and useless error.  Can anyone tell me what this means?

We once spent several hours working with NI to resolve a similar installer issue. We had to have them remote into our system and drill down through the installer code (written in LabVIEW) to discover what was happening. It was not for the faint of heart. NI really needs to do a better job reporting errors during the builds.

  • Error when building Installer with USI 1.5.0 with Labview 8.5

I used to build an installer with Labview 8.2 and included this additional installer USI 1.5.0  but now with labview 8.5 it gives me an error:
"Locate the "NI LabVIEW" distribution. LabVIEW needs to copy a component installed or updated by the distribuiton to conitnue building the installer"
    Any advice

    Hi reza_sed,
Thank you for contacting National Instruments.  When you get this message, are you prompted for a location of this installer (CD drive or something)?  Sometimes if components are installed together, certain dependencies are created.  You might be able to add the installer to a LabVIEW 8.2 installer with no problem, but the installer cannot be found when using a different version of LabVIEW.  You might try uninstalling USI, then copying the install files from the CD or from our website to your hard drive and then installing from there.  Then, you should be able to include the additional installer.
Another thing that may be happening is that the LabVIEW Run-Time Engine you have for 8.5 does not support NI-USI.  The full version of the Run-Time Engine supports NI-USI, but the web browser only version does not.  Make sure you select the full version when installing.
