Error while querying a XML data type
Hello Friends,
I have a table which has a column type XMLTYPE
In this table i store the XML documents. While retrieving data it works fine on my server.
But when I query on another server it gives this error:
SQL> select * from aw33_view;ERROR:
ORA-04031: unable to allocate 1000 bytes of shared memory ("large
pool","unknown object","qmxlu subheap","qmemNextBuf:alloc")
select * from v$sgastat where name = 'free memory';
POOL NAME BYTES
shared pool free memory 7844132
large pool free memory 3296692
java pool free memory 41703168
I tried to increase the pool area .Still getting the same error.
The version is Oracle10g Release 2
Please advice me more about increasing pool area.
Thanks & Regards,

Hi,
Can anyone help me out please.
I have written one stored Procedure to create a views using Openrowset(openquery) but for tables which contains xml data types throwing error while executing the SP. Error

1. You cannot use a table or view that contains xml or clr type as 4-part name in your query
2. You need to cast the column to either nvarchar(max) or varbinary(max) or other appropriate type to use
3. If you have a table that has xml type for example then you need to create a view that contains all columns other than xml and query it instead. Or you can issue a pass-through query using OPEN QUERY with the appropriate columns only.
Here is a work around:
SELECT
Cast(a.XML_Data as XML) as XML_Data
FROM
OPENQUERY([LINKED SERVER NAME HERE],'
SELECT
Cast(XML_Data as Varchar) as XML_Data
FROM
[DATABASE NAME].[SCHEMA].[TABLE NAME]'
) a
Basically, the data is queried on the remote server, converts the XML data to a varchar, sends the data to the requesting server and then reconverts it back to XML.

XML operation resulted an XML data type exceeding 2GB in size. Operation aborted.
I have table with one million rows, when i am using xml path ('Root'), it giving me an error
"XML operation resulted an XML data type exceeding 2GB in size. Operation aborted."
This is a limitation of sqlserver. I have to xml path because i have to create nodes and attributes. In more complex case i will be joining multiple tables to get id and other attributes so combining multiple xmls in not an option here.
any workaround....thanks in advanceHere an example of your query that retrieve record in batch of 2 records. In real code, you should save the last id retrieved and call the query in a loop.
DECLARE @BATCHSIZE AS integer
SET @BATCHSIZE = 2
DECLARE @LASTID As Integer
SET @LASTID = 0
select top(@BATCHSIZE) id as "@id"
,name as "@name"
select id as "@id"
,name as "@name"
select *
from @products p
where p.customer_id = cs.id
group by id,customer_id,name
for xml path ('product'),Root('products'),type
from @customer cs
where cs.client_id = c.id
group by id,client_id,name
for xml path ('customer'),Root('customers'),type
from @client c
where c.id > @LASTID
order by c.id

ERROR while querying ACM driver's information
I am using following scheme to transmit sound over network:
file -> input datasource -> processor -> output datasource -> RTPManager -> network
File from which i am transmitting is temporary. I am create this file before transmit and delete it after.
1. Application starts
2. I am perform transmit first time - everything fine, but in std otput i see message "ERROR while querying ACM driver's information".
3. I am perform transmit second time - everything fine, but file that i am created for transmitting stays locked by JMF for about 20 minutes.
4. Any transmit after "ERROR while querying ACM driver's information" locks input file for about 15-20 minutes.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.

}I have figured out that if i continue to try deleting files used by processor (that already closed) while program is running, files will be deleted after ~15 minutes. I have figured out this while testing my main application. This test app also may be modified to reproduce this behaviour. If you want, i can submit a modified test code to reproduce this behaviour.
If JMF is maintaining a file lock, then I assume you've improperly shutdown the processor / datasink...About resource deallocation. First, there is no datasink i have been created manually (may be jmf create it internally, but i dont think so). In my test application i've been created only input datasource and processor. I have tried deallocate datasource also, but this is dont have any effect. In JMF reference we can see this description of method Processor.close():
"Releases all resources and cease all activity."
I think this is enough to call Processor.close() to deallocate input file, is that right? -

Error while creating customer master data
dear sir,
i have created customer master and maintined all level general, compnay code and sales level data.and again deleted all areas thru t-code XD06.and thru se16n i have deleted the entires in kna1 knb1 knvv table
again while creating one with same name showing error while maintaing sales level data
Check: Table KNA1 does not exist, table KNVI does
Message no. F2061
plz help how do i rectify this problem and maintain the same cutomer no (external) again.
regards,
DebeshHi,
you did the wrong thing, don't remove the entries from standard table like KNA1, KNVV etc, SAP will maintained the entries in lot of tables same time.
XD06 is used to set delete indicator, after wards you may create new customer master, if any problem for name you may change the name field as 'delete' for old customer.
Now to solve your issue, i believe you need to first save the entries with maintainace of general data (KNA1) and then use XD02 to maintain the Sales area data, pl try this way it should work.
If this way will not work, pl maintain the tax indicator in table KNVI manually to solve the issue.
regards
Vivek.

Query regarding the data type for fetcing records from multiple ODS tables
hey guys;
i have a query regarding the data type for fetcing records from multiple ODS tables.
if i have 2 table with a same column name then in the datatype under parent row node i cant add 2 nodes with the same name.
can any one help with some suggestion.Hi Mudit,
One option would be to go as mentioned by Padamja , prefxing the table name to the column name or another would be to use the AS keyoword in your SQL statement.
AS is used to rename the column name when data is being selected from your DB.
So, the query Select ename as empname from emptable will return the data with column name as empname.

Dear Team,
Japanese characters alone are not passing correctly (passing like ??? or some unreadable characters) to Adobe application when we create input variable as XML data type. The same solution works fine if we change input variable data type to document type. Could you please do needful. Thank youHello,
most recent patches for IGS and kernel installed. Now it works. -
I am a developer in .NET with having experience working on SQL server.
I want to know whether there is an xml data type in oracle.
I have an xml in my front end and want to insert record in the database for the values inside that xml. What i am doing currently is that i am retreiving the value in the xml in the .NET code and passing the values a parameter to a stored procedure in oracle. what i want to do is to pass the xml directly to stored procedure in oracle and retrieve the values there (using Xquery) and insert the records.
This is possible with SQL server 2005. I want to know is this possible with Oracle.
Thanks and regards,
Sameer J NarkarWonderful - a documentation question!
You will find your answer by going to the general documentation portal at http://tahiti.oracle.com following the path to the database version of interest, and looking in the SQL Reference manual. Chapter 2 discusses all data types, including the several supported for XML.
In addition, under the 'Books' tab, there are several XML-developer specific reference manuals.
(Oracle's support for XML generally blows away the others. The price for the extreme flexibility is an ease-of-use hit.)

Hi, We recently started getting these errors a couple times a day. There are 12 of them in total. We also have exactly 12 subscriptions. Does this indicate some db issue causing all of these
