Error while restarting sessions in Odi

Hi
when i try to restart a session using a particular agent am getting following errors .
Please kindly help to sort it out

what type of agent are you using? J2EE agent (Web logic) or a standAlone agent

Are you deployed new rpd file in your serve. please conform?
This error occured several reasons.
Tell me first obiee l0g or 11g.
If 10g Please follow the below steps.
1. Please check the rpd properly copied or not.\
2. Exiting rpd having any space or hyponym or dot. Please recheck?
3. Please check how many instance running your server.
use this command in your server.
ps -ef | grep nqsserver.
Still running more than one please kill the all the session and restart newly.
I am not sure this is what your looking so far.

Error while trying to upgrade ODI repository using export/ import

I am getting below error while trying to import an ODI project from dev environment into my QA environment which has an older version of project.

Did you follow below approch
Goto Topology> File Menu>Export>Export Master Repository in ZIP format
File Menu>Export>Export Logical Topology in ZIP format
In Designer, go to File menu>Export>Export Work Repository in ZIP format
Quit from old ODI instance
Login into New ODi instance
Goto Topology> Import>Import Master Repository in ZIP format (please select INSERT and UPDATE Mode option from dropdown list)
Import>Import Logical Topology in ZIP format (please select INSERT and UPDATE Mode option from dropdown list)
In Designer Import>Import Work Repository in ZIP format (please select INSERT and UPDATE Mode option from dropdown list)
Note: Once it is done please change the Work repository ID on New ODI instance

May be all classes cant be loaded.
Do you have any application which is deployed your manage server? If you say Yes:
There are three ways:
1)If Sun JVM is used, then add:
set MEM_ARGS=-Xms1280m -Xmx1280m -XX:PermSize=128m -XX:MaxPermSize=256m
*** -XX:PermSize and -XX:MaxPermSize should be equal and quarter of -Xmx. (-Xmx should also be equal to -Xms)
If BEA JRockit JVM is used, then add:
set MEM_ARGS=-Xms1280m -Xmx1280m
2) If you still get that error, increase your real memory of system.
3) For last choice, contact with your developer to tune your application.

JDK/JVM 1.4 is compatible with Version 9 and above of Oracle and ojdbc14.jar driver.
JDK/JVM 1.5 is compatible with Version 11 and above and ojdbc5.jar/ojdbc5dms.jar
JDK/JVM 1.6 is compatible with version 11 and above and ojdbc6.jar/ojdbc6dms.jar
Two Options,
1) Since RCC by default comes with ojdbc5.jar and ojdbc6.jar, you may want to upgrade your JVM/JDK to 1.5 or above.
2) If you want to perhaps continue using 1.4.2, you will have to download and use ojdbc14.jar - http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/enterprise-edition/jdbc-10201-088211.html
I would prefer the 1st option though since the latest driver can give you more recent fixes than the previous one, let me know how it goes.

Reporting Error while Restart to apply Recent Changes in OBIEE 11g in EM

Hi Friends,
I tried to open my rpd in online mode in OBIEE 11g, For that i went into EM for getting my rpd updated...
So after all doing changes, I need to restart for applying changes, so I restarted the system components
But only 80% of it started, remaining 20% is showing error and these are the error details
"Restart failed with 2 errors: problems reported by coreapplication_obis1, coreapplication
see detailed logs for more information"..

how to solve these errors, because of this i couldn't able to open my repository in online mode as well as cannot able to update my .rpd file in presentation services in obiee 11g..

It's myself harry and i solved this problem, since this problem occurred for me as i tried to update my repository.rpd file for more than 5 times because of the error that it reported to me in my previous post...
How i solved this error means, i deleted all the other .rpd files(out of 5 i deleted 4) and i made some changes in my rpd file in the administration tool and after that i tried to update my rpd in EM..
Once it updated, then i gave restart to apply recent changes, after that my system components tempt to work as of 100%...

My work repository connection in ODI shows successful connection without error.
I checked my odiparams file in bin folder and every information seems to be fine. For the ODI_SECU_WORK_REP i have put the name that i have given to the work repository while inserting it in topology manager. Is there anyplace in that file where in i should be giving password as well for work repository because seeing the error it seems like it is a security issue?

Facing an error while restarting the services : Process Manager is not initialized.

while setting up the MDM environment I somehow messed up all the database connections.
Now im unable to start or stop the services properly.
Below is the error shown in the event viewer log for process MDM Ntier Process manager :

I suspect this is because incorrect password for Engine login MDM_SYSTEM or incorrect configuration file (config.xml), However i may be wrong.

As far as the "Process Manager is not initialized" error is concerned, we got the same error recently.
What we did was restart the DRM services on the server - The N-Tier Client and the Web-Publisher.
However, after doing it - we still got the error or DRM would not respond. On looking through it again, we saw that the Task Manager on the Server did not kill the DRM processes and so we did it manually. Then we restarted the services and it worked fine this time. See if this works for you - first kill all the services on the client sides and then on the server side, check for the client and server side process task manager and then restart the service. This worked for us, hopefully it works for you too.

Error while restarting a job

Hi All,
I am in a crucial situation after we upgrade the Data Integratror to DI 11.7.3.
We are frequently getting Heap errors. I know that this is not a new issue with DI. But the wierd one is the new error. Previously with DI 11.0 when ever we get heap error, we were able to restart the job from the aborted step.
But now, when we tried to restart the aborted job, we are always facing ACCESS_VIOLATION error. We cannot able to proceed due to this error.
Can any body help me to solve this issue ?
Additional Information:
Source database : Sybase
Destination database : Oracle 10g
DI version : 11.7.3.0
Please help me with any alternative solution so that i can try.

For your information, i noticied that there is no al_engine running after i got the access_violation error. And also i already using all the data flow as PAGEABLE.
I can try compacting the repository now. But not sure how much improvement i can see by doing this.

If you have any routines, check the syntax.
Check all the fields are mapped properly or not.
Check any currency or unit conversion in transformation.
Data type mismatch -> make sure source and target infoobject either numerical or interconvertible.
Length mismatch between source and target infoobject.

The databse is up and running since same works if I use the DTD format for sessions.xml.
Is there something wrong with the table qualifier that I am using? Also what kind of login information should I specify in the map file? It would be great if somebody could tell me whats wrong/ point me to the correct info/docs.

You are getting an error stating the table "SEQUENCE" does not exist. From the log, it shows you are registering a new object, and this object is set to use table sequencing, which requires a Sequence table in the database.

Urgent:Error while importing project in ODI..plz help

Hi All,
We are getting below errors after importing the project folder.
In interfaces having file as source datastores, we are getting below errors
1) On source datastore,its giving error that "could not build the property panel for an object".
2) On requesting for data of source datastore it is showing:cannot display data: datastores are not on the same data server
3) On executing the interface its giving below error:
--the object no longer exists
Also, we are not able to see any field of source datastore(technology-File) in Source panel in the interaface after we imported project.

Make sure that, you might have selected Duplicate mode while importing
and data stores id may be different .

Error while using session.processSendNotification() in PAPI code

I am writing a PAPI code inside my web-service..
When I use session.processCreateInstance() in my code and run it, it creates an instance in the process.
But when I use session.processSendNotification() to invoke my Wait activity it gives me a communication error...
Here is the error:-

I have created my instance in my process using Global Creation... Know you know this, but are you closing the ProcessService and the ProcessServiceSession when you are done with them?
If this is the case, it sounds like you were successful in connecting to the Directory Service and creating a session for PAPI (since you created an instance) and were not successful connecting to the Directory Service or creating the session when you make the send notification method call. Just a guess, don't know what your code looks like, but have you tried sending the notification immediately after creating the instance? I know this is not what you want to do, but it would test your send notification logic. If this works, figure out how you are connecting to the session differently in the two blocks of code.

Error while restarting BPM which falied in Queue & status is sysfail

We are trying to restart the BPM which failed with status as SYSFAIL using 'Execute LUW'.
Error coming is 'Function module does not exist or EXCEPTION raised'
How can we restart such messages?

Hi Mayank,
i think if there is an error occured in the BPE processing then you might have to restart that work item from SXMB_MONI_BPE.
so in SXMB_MONI_BPE-continue process following error, check if the integration process is having error in any of the steps and restart it if possible. Afterwards we would be able to restart the BPM queue from SMQ2.
