Error while uploading Long Text in IA05 through BDC.

While we are trying to upload the Long Text through BDC for IA05 operations the text is updating in Database but it is not visible in the long Text field. Is it possible to upload the long text through BDC or any bapi's which can be used for the same. Any configuration needed for this please do the needful.

I've modified the previous message with a correction that, I had used this for uploading Activity lines Longtexts.
One more thing: After I faced some problem, I used split text in the code. i.e., Splitting the longtext into several lines (72 char each). Show these code lines to your ABAPer, may be he might be able to draw some clues.
In the BDC lines alongwith other fields the gold line below
PERFORM FILL_BDC_DATA       USING ' ' ' ' ' ' 'BDC_OKCODE' '=MX07'.
PERFORM FILL_BDC_DATA       USING ' ' ' ' ' '   'BDC_CURSOR' 'QMICON-LTAKTION(07)'.
PERFORM FILL_BDC_DATA       USING ' ' ' ' ' '   'VIQMMA-MATXT(07)' FS_FIELD-MNTXT7.
PERFORM SPLIT_LONGTEXT USING COL_COUNT.
Code for Form SPLIT_LONGTEXT is attached herewith (MATXT1 to MATXT7 are longtext split into 7lines )

Hi,
See if you want to update only single table, which has User maintenance allowed
Use Modify statement.
EX:
LOOP AT ITAB INTO WA_TAB.
    MOVE-CORRESPONDING WA_TAB TO T499S.
    MODIFY T499S.
    CLEAR T499S.
ENDLOOP.
It will update the table, to check go to sm30 , and check in V_T499S.

correct me if im wrong, the long text is a multiline text, its an object for text, this cant be filled with BDC since this object can not be created in background mode, so i think the bdc skip the routines to fill this object, you can use the save_text function right after the transaction ends

Error while saving Long Texts

Hello
We are using SRM7 Extended classic scenario.
We don't use shopping carts, rather create POs directly in SRM which will be transferred to ECC as per the standard.
Error:
I am getting an error "Error while saving Long Texts" during my PO creation. I get this message in a small pop-up screen. As soon as i click ok or close the pop up screen it kicks me out of the PO creation screen back into the main SRM screen.

Yes, only for Material POs
This is happening when I am creating the PO with a Material code. I can create free text PO without any issues.
This is a standard message and the message number is 022.

To confirm can you check commeting "getOADBTransaction().commit();" gives any error message?
If yes then you can try the following option:
Have you checked whether the "/" is changed to "\" in the dbc file?
In the following two entries the slash has to be made as shown below:

Error while uploading BITMAP image in SAP through SE78.

Hello all,
I am getting below error while uploading image into SAP through SE78.
'Bitmap file: No color table available (True Color, Bitcount 32)'.
I have tried searching for solution and got some help from below reply from a thread:
You may do these options:
1. Lower the resolution of the image
2. Lower the file size of the image

First of all, if you dont mind, start a new thread for your question please.
Anyways, answer to your question is --
You need to save your picture with lower-most bits BITMAP Type. When you were saving your picture as .bmp, take care you are passing lower-most BITMAP type and not 24-bit as it may be as default.
This way, your problem would be resolved.

Error while uploading standard text files for the Global rule set

Hi all,
As part of Post Installation Activities we have uploaded standard text files for business process, functions, risks and rule set obtained with the installable Software.
While uploading the text files we have uploaded the Basis Functions Authorizations first and then R/3 text files.
When we checked no actions are appearing in the rule architect under respective functions except for the BASIS Module.
Is this because we have uploaded the Basis functions before the R/3 text files?If yes, how to replace the Basis with the R/3 ones.
We tried to replace the Basis function authorizations by re-uploading the R/3 text files again but we got the below error message u201CORA-00001:unique constraint (SAPSR3DB.SYS_C004479) violatedu201D
Can somebody please help in this regard how to get the standard rule set in our system?

Hi Sri,
you should upload first the static text files and the authorization objects first and then the GRC standard rule set files following the instructions of the SAP Configuration Guide available in Service Market Place under http://service.sap.com/instguides .
The GRC standard rule set contains files named Basis_functions_action.txt and R3_function_action.txt. The first one contains ONLY function definitions in terms of transcation codes for basis only, whereas the second one contains functions definition for basis AND ERP modules. The same holds for the *_function_permission.txt files. There are also function definition files for other SAP solutions such as APO, CRM, HR etc.
You can open a customer message and request a deletion script for the rule sets files you have uploaded already. After their application of this script all rule set data will be deleted from your database. If you have uploaded static text and authorization files correctly, you can then upload the GRC standard rule set files as needed again.

I am uploading the master data of functional location through LSMW .I had completed all the steps except "Run Batch Input Session".
In that step it is showing as functional location already exists, after this error the remaining functional locations are updated in sap or it will stop total transaction by this error???
how can u upload the remaining in to sap by skipping already existed one????

I am trying to post vendor invoice using BDC (F-43). The function code for MORE-DATA is ZK, but when i run the program i get an error 'This Function is not possible '.

I believe the error is 8I017.
Please check the following:
1. Goto transaction SM30, view J_1IINDCUS -> Maintain
IMG -> Logistics - General -> Tax on Goods Movements -> India ->
Basic Settings -> Maintain Company Code Settings
2. Create an entry here for your company code.
Test the same scenario for which you got the mentioned error.

I am uploading 4 text files which contain three columns separated by a tab, but when i am trying to upload those files using WS_UPLOAD Function Module i am getting a runtime error saying 'error while uploading/downloading'.

Now that i am able to upload the files, i need to update the database table the update statement is executing correctly but when i debug i see that the sy-subrc value is 4 but not 0.
and hence the it is not committed.

Can any1 help me out in uploading long text of 500 characters thru LSMW...Please reply ASAP..We have used Direct Input method 0004...We have a structure for long text ,but still unable to upload.

I have the same problem where the long text is not being updated through a AC02 BDC session. Did you find a solution to the problem yet?

Error while uploading file in BPS

Hi all,
I am getting an error while uploading file to BPS through web interface
I get a red stop button with error message : error while calling up RFC.
when i double click the red stop button, i get no long text but the error message I get is UPC 202
please advice me to resolve this issue.

The informations are really not much to have an idea about the problem.
The problem can be located in the fm that calls the file because is trying to search the file on a system where there are some kind of problems in the communication between the systems involved to read and pass the file. Did u map the file name with logical filenames ? Very strange problem. Can you browse in the server where the file is located . Is it on your pc ?
Or, there is some problem in the datas provided, but this problem should arise more when you save than when you just press to load.
With this kind of imformations is very hard to have an idea. You need to debug to see what s going on

I am running into error while uploading GL master data in LSMW, I created recording through FS00, then I mapped the fields, it all went good till 13th step, but last step got stuck(Run Batch Input Session), when I am running batch input session, system is showing this message "Function Code cannot be selected"

first can you pls check your Hierarchy mode setting in FS00 - before executing Batch input session -
Open FS00 - go to settings - and Do not display navigation tree select radio button and save it
then Now Run fresh LSMW - your issue will resolve

Have you uploaded the SAP text and object files? Upload them first and then try to upload functions.
