ERRORs executing CWM commands in SQL Plus

Hi,
I tried to execute following command in SQL Plus:
execute cwm_olap_dimension.set_plural_name('olapdata', 'OLAP_APARAT_DIM', 'OLAP_APARAT_DIM');
And in response I got following result:

Here is an example :
SQL> copy from scott/tiger@q4_production_server create ord -
using select * from ord;Array fetch/bind size is 15. (arraysize is 15)
Will commit when done. (copycommit is 0)
Maximum long size is 80. (long is 80)
Table ORD created.
21 rows selected from scott@q4_production_server.
21 rows inserted into ORD.
21 rows committed into ORD at DEFAULT HOST connection.

Verify the contents of the following subkey in your Windows2000 registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORACLE\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORACLE\KEY_YOUR_HOME_NAME
Your Windows 2000 registry must contain several minimum parameters, defined as registry entries inside the above subkey (See http://download-east.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/win.102/b14304/registry.htm#i1006544). One of them is ORACLE_HOME, which could have been accidentally removed or changed. ORACLE_HOME must contain the home OS path to the SQL*Plus executable in your machine (For example, C:\Oracle\OraDB10g). I tried changing the name of the ORACLE_HOME registry entry in my machine and received the same exact messages you did when launching SQL*Plus.
In your OS, verify also Control Panel > System Properties > Advanced > Environment Variables > System Variables > Path, and make sure the above ORACLE_HOME's path is included in the Path variable (preferably in the starting position)

My coldfusion service crashes intermitantly and when I check
the application logs the error that I see for the time frame is the
one below. Does anyone know where I might begain to solve this?

I'm no expert, but thought I would try to be helpful.
I was getting this same error on a regular basis.
The short term fix was to restart the ODBC server service.
The long term fix was twofold:
1. I recreated the ODBC connection in ColdFusion
Administrator to use the system connection (I was using the SA and
PW for login).
2. I created a second user ODBC connection as well as the
system one under ODBC in Windows Server 2003.
I haven't had the problem since.

OLAP commands at sql*plus

Hi there,
I installed on my computer the Analytic Workspace Manager 11g to manage olap cubes by using this page http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/bi/olap/index.html. It is a very useful tool which really helped me on building and quering tools, but i wasn't able to find any staff about how to do all this at command prompt "sql*plus".
So, I would like to know how i can work with olap using commands at a proper command prompt like sqlplus. To be more specific i need commands which:
1. Define dimensions,levels,hierarchies and cubes at command prompt!
2. Load data on dimension tables and cubes!
Also, could you give me a tutorial which organises all OLAP commands?
Note: If there is no other way but to use the tool i just said, It would be helpful to tell me!

All metadata/object creation is via the OLAP API (which is Java) so you can't create dimensions and cubes via SQL Plus. You can, however, manage cube maintenance using the dbms_cube package (which can, of course, be called from SQL Plus). I am being trying to connect a Flex desktop application with a Java application running in Tomcat (6.0.29), and I get this error message when trying to use the Data wizard to connect with Blaze DS.
I have read all the tutorials and everything looks good from the server side. This is what appears in the server log:

Issue with new line when manually executing a procedure in SQL*Plus

The below procedure works fine in SQL*Plus when the entire EXEC <procedure_name> (parameter1, parameter2, ..); is put in a single line

You have to use the -(Hyphen) as the concatenation Operator.
For Instance,

Change default settings and commands in sql plus

everytime i execute sql plus I have to change environment commands maually
(like linesize , wrap ...etc )
is there is a way to load those defaults not to reexecute them every time I access sql plus

glogin.sql (%ORACLE_HOME%/sqlplus/admin/glogin.sql) is executed whenever any user starts SQL*Plus on the machine. login.sql (on Windows, defaulted to %ORACLE_HOME%/bin but can be changed by setting the SQLPATH environment variable) is executed for a particular user.
You change the default linesize, or execute any other SQL*Plus commands, in either of these files.

There is a MAIN procedure you can use, if you have no mapping input parameters defined it will be like;
PROCEDURE Main(p_status OUT VARCHAR2,

p_operating_mode IN VARCHAR2 DEFAULT NULL,

p_purge_group IN VARCHAR2 DEFAULT NULL,
p_job_audit IN VARCHAR2 DEFAULT 'TRUE');
If you define mapping input parameters they will also be included in the signature of this procedure.

"loadjava" is unknow command in SQL*Plus (Oracle8i)

I am attempting to laod a java class in the database but when I type the command "loadjava" the SQL*Plus prompt indicates this is an unknown command. Is there a configuration problem I should address with the DBA?

If you want the loadjava command, it's outside the database (a batch file if you're Windows). The other option is the CREATE OR REPLACE JAVA example I told you about in an earlier thread.

True. But that job is going to run in a separate session, some time after the current transaction commits (depending on the number of jobs queued up to run). So if you need to pass information back from the job, or you want the procedure to handle exceptions thrown by the job, or you want to tie job related failures back to a particular application level event, or you want the rest of your procedure to wait for the operating system command to finish, using the DBMS_SCHEDULER for this sort of thing is going to require a fair amount of additional coordination/ monitoring/ infrastructure code. It's certainly not a Herculean task to write that additional code, and it's reasonable in some situations, but the Java stored procedure approach strikes me as substantially easier to deal with in most cases.

Executing sql scripts with command line Sql plus

Well I will be gradefull if I have an answer to the follow questions
a) How can I connect to a remote XE using sqlplus (command line)?
for example I'm trying to connect like this : sqlplus sys/syspassw@//remoteserver:1521/xe
and I get responce from server that I have to connect as SYSDBA or SYSOPER, so what is the proper syntax in this case?
b) I want to execute a script file with DDL commands from Windows conscole using sqlplus. Inside this script I have the connect command and others. Is there a way to pass the name of script file as parameter to the sqlplus and execute it ? If yes what is the proper syntac from command line of Windows?

There are two ways to do that...
Either use the spool command in sqlplus, or on your command line calling sqlplus use a >> to direct the output to a file. Usually the spool is cleaner.
It goes like this:
spool C:\logfile.txt
{sql commands here}
spool off
or
sqlplus /nolog @sqlfile.sql >> C:\logfile.txt
The output will be formatted slightly differently, and if you use the DOS method you won't be able to see the output as it's running.
