Errors in Converting from MS SQL 7 & Oracle

If someone has some information how can we get an easy solution for Oracle Migration.
Thanks

Hi Jeevan,
Please mail [email protected] with details of your issues. We will work to resolve them as quickly as possible.
The Workbench should work for you. Please remember you have a beta version of the SQL Server 7.0 software and we have fixed a lot of issues in the production version.
The production version 1.2.5.0.0 will be available from this site shortly and also from the 8.1.6 release 2 for Windows NT CD.
Regards
John

    Download the
SQL Server Migration Assistant for Oracle.  It will convert whole Oracle databases, or single queries or PL/SQL stored procedures.
With caution that If your database is using Collation which is case sensitive SSMA will not work.SSMA doesnt guarantees 100% for conversion of Queries/stored proc /database if it fails to do so for some queries you will have to do it manually.

  • Failed to execute with the error Overflow converting from...

I have a query filter for UPC in Webi Report. The report is not working for one UPC (for other UPC's the report is working fine)...it gives error "failed to execute with the error Overflow converting from '6218090010'. (WIS 10901)". The same error is coming when I ran MDX in MDXTEST command in BW. When I take the UPC filter from the query filter the report runs fine and I see this UPC in the report. The data source is Bex and we have recently upgraded to SAP EHP 1 for SAP NetWeaver 7.0.

    Hi,
Under normal circumstances it should be enough to restart the connection service.
As far as we know there is no formal solution to this problem from SAP yet but restarting the connection service is much less of an interuption compared to restarting the the SIA.
Re-starting the connection service should resolve this issue. since, Connection service is only related to DeskI and Rich Client re-statrng wonu2019t impact other business objects components including java report panel.

  • Help with counting XML elements and converting from MS SQL 2008 to ORACLE

    Hello,
    My ORACLE DB version is:
    ('Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.2.0 - 64bit Production');
    ('PL/SQL Release 11.2.0.2.0 - Production');
    ('CORE     11.2.0.2.0     Production');
    ('TNS for Linux: Version 11.2.0.2.0 - Production');
    ('NLSRTL Version 11.2.0.2.0 - Production');
I'm trying to convert the below SQL Server 2008 query to work on Oracle. It's important to note that the XMLData column type is CLOB.
    Query 1)
    -- Number of validations
    select br.rulename, CAST(( CAST(br.XMLData as XML)).query('count(//Validation/Expressions/Expression)') as nvarchar(50)) as "Number of //Validation/Expressions/Expression"
    from AsBusinessRules br
    where
    DATALENGTH(br.XMLData)>10
and CAST(( CAST(br.XMLData as XML)).query('count(//Validation/Expressions/Expression)') as nvarchar(50)) not like '0'
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
You can try one of these :
    select br.rulename
, count(*) as "Num. of Expression"
    from AsBusinessRules br
       , xmltable(
           '//Validation/Expressions/Expression'
           passing xmltype(br.XMLData)
         ) x
    where length(br.XMLData) > 10
    group by br.rulename
    having count(*) != 0
    ;or,
    select br.rulename
         , xmlcast(
             xmlquery(
               'count(//Validation/Expressions/Expression)'
               passing xmltype(br.XMLData)
               returning content
             as number
           ) as "Num. of Expression"
    from AsBusinessRules br
    where length(br.XMLData) > 10
    and xmlcast(
          xmlquery(
            'count(//Validation/Expressions/Expression)'
            passing xmltype(br.XMLData)
            returning content
          as number
        ) != 0
It's important to note that the XMLData column type is CLOB.Could you consider migrating the column to XMLType datatype?
Given your version, it would be binary XML by default and therefore a lot more performant with XQueries, compared to a simple CLOB storage.

  • Keys lost in converting from sybase to oracle

I am trying to convert from sybase 12 to oracle 10 using the migration workbench.
The oracle data base created does not have the primary keys that were in the sybase data base. I used the tool to create migration scripts, Create.sql and Drop.sql. These scripts create the tables but do not have primary keys in them.
Another question is I have user types from the sybase database. Is it possible to change them in the tool? Right now it looks like I can only change the basic database types as in smallInt.

    Hi <Please Supply Your Name>,
What version of SQL Developer are you using?
"Create.sql" and "Drop.sql" sound like old OMWB names, Just want to double check.
    Thanks

  • Out of memory error in migrating from mysql to oracle

    Hi,
I'm trying migrate from mysql to oracle9i. The hardware and software requirements are matching or even much higher than mentioned in the documentation. I have installed OMWB is properly(hope so). When I try to migrate the desired database from mysql to oracle, the repository, the Oracle model are created successfully. But while migrating data, say for around 35000 rows insertion everything works pretty fine. But after sometime, the migration stops and no error or anything appears in the screen. And in the Errorlog I get "OutOfMemoryError".
I tried to migrate single table also. But I still get this problem after sometime. The tables may contain from 10 - 130000 rows...
I even tried to change the %JRE..% memory value to 64M or 128M in the omwb.bat file and the O/s is Microsoft Windows XP, RAM 256MB.
    Any help is much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Viji,
did the message in the error.log provide any extra information? For example, was the OutOfMemory error prefixed with a string
like "cannot create new native thread" ? My suggestion to workaround the problem would have been to increase the JVM heap size to 128
but this appears to have been unsuccessful for you. Can you send a mail to the Migration Workbench support services
([email protected]) explaining the problem, and attach the full error.log file please ? (please also copy me on the mail).
In the meantime, you can workaround this by migrating the schema only (there is a switch on step 3 of the migration wizard asking:
"Do you want to migrate the table data to Oracle?" - just select the "No" option). When the schema has migrated, you can then use the
offline data loading facility to migrate the data. This uses data extraction scripts and SDQL*Loader to migrate the data to the target
Oracle database. You can learn more about the offline data loading facility from the plugins referenceguide (from the Help menu in
    the Migration Workbench).
    I hope this helps,
    Tom.

  • Converting from Sinlge-Node Oracle Apps Instance to 2 Node Instance

    Hi,
I am in the process converting my Single Instance Oracle Apps 11.5.10.2 instance on Windows 2003 server to a 2 Node instance. I want to move the DB Tier only to another Windows 2003 server.
Plz suggest how I can achieve this. Can I use 'adcfgclone appsTier' to get this done.
    Rgds,
    Thiru

    1) Run "perl adpreclone.pl dbTier" on the source database node
    2) Run "perl adpreclone.pl appsTier" on the source application node
    3) Shutdown the application/database services and copy the(<sid>db, and <sid>data) directories to the target node
    4) Run "perl adcfgclone.pl dbTier" on the target database node
    5) Make sure the database and the database listener are up and running
    6) Run "perl adcfgclone.pl appsTier" on the source application node
    7) Start the application services

  • Eliminating error during Convert from datetime to varchar

    I am using SQL 2008 R2.
    I am using this command:
select Convert(varchar(12),Cast(out_date as datetime),101) From MyTable
The output shows several rows of data and then returns an error:
Conversion failed when converting date and/or time from character string.
What is the syntax to eliminate errors from this select command?  Thanks
    MisterT99

If it's a datetime, why you're converting it again to datetime?
    Why not
select Convert(varchar(12),out_date,101) as NewDate, out_date From MyTable
Should work just fine without extra step.

  • Hi, I have adobe acrobat pro 9 (yes older version) with error to convert from word

on win7 64bit. but when I try to convert a word file to pdf. I get error PDF MAKER. When I print a test page from word to pdf printer it does correct. Word is 2007
When I go to my acrobat. And I press combine from word I get the error.
When I combine from other pdf it all works.
So it is the conversion from word to acrobat creating the error.
The exact error messag I get is next:

I don't believe that Acrobat 9 is compatible with the 64bit version of Windows 7, which might cause integration errors, like the one you're describing.
The solution is to upgrade to the latest version.

  • Error in converting Access97 db to Oracle 817.2.6

    I need HELP!!!
I have successfully migrated a Access2000 db to oracle 817 but am trying to do the same from access 97 and am getting the following application error message while trying to create the xml file:
    Error# 429:Activex component can't create object.
Can somebody help me with this?
    Thanks,
    Konah

    Also,
There are 2 .mde files in the %ORACLE_HOME%\Omwb\msaccess_exporter directory.
You need to use omwb97.mde for Access 97 databases.
If you encounter any other issues please contact [email protected]

  • RH11 gives a duplicate file error message converting from RH9

My project has an empty file which cannot be deleted but was ignored by RH9.  In converting to RH11 I get the following message: "Error - node */Views/<folder name>/<folder name>/SBLCRVAL.htm already exists."  However, there is no other file by that name in the project.  There is a similar one which I renamed and everything works fine in RH9, but I cannot convert to RH11.

    Hi there
I think I'd save a copy of the offending file in a safe place, then delete it from the project. After the upgrade completes, then import it back into the project.
    Cheers... Rick
