Errors in TestStand 4.1.1 SQL Schema

I'm trying to create a new MSDE 2005 SQL Server database using the new TestStand 4.1.1 schema. I have used the SQL Server Stored Procedure to build a .sql file and then run this SQL file. I am getting several errors similar to the following:
> CREATE TABLE STEP_RESULT ( ID uniqueidentifier PRIMARY KEY, UUT_RESULT uniqueidentifier, STEP_PARENT uniqueidentifier, ORDER_NUMBER int, STEP_NAME varchar(255), STEP_TYPE varchar(255), STEP_GROUP varchar(32), STEP_INDEX int, STEP_ID varchar(32), STATUS varchar(255), REPORT_TEXT varchar(255), ERROR_CODE int, ERROR_MESSAGE varchar(255), CAUSED_SEQFAIL bit, MODULE_TIME float, TOTAL_TIME float, NUM_LOOPS int, NUM_PASSED int, NUM_FAILED int, ENDING_LOOP_INDEX int, LOOP_INDEX int, INTERACTIVE_EXENUM int, CONSTRAINT STEP_RESULT_FK FOREIGN KEY (UUT_RESULT) REFERENCES (ID))
Command failed with the following error...:
Line 1: Incorrect syntax near '('. (-2147217900)
I have tried to run this statement in both MSDE and through the TestStand database viewer with similar results. Is anyone else experiencing this problem or have any ideas?
Solved!
Go to Solution.

The feature to generate the SQL files from a schema does not always generate perfect SQL statements, but get you closer to where you need to be than trying to create it from scratch. Have you considered looking at the default SQL files included with the product, specifically the "SQL Server Create Stored Proc Result Tables.sql" file located in the "<TestStand>\Components\Models\TestStandModels\Database" directory? This is a file that should work out of the box for the default schemas for SQL server and MSDE. There are other SQL files for the other default schemas, and there are older SQL files for previous releases in the "Previous Schemas (2.x-4.0)" subdirectory.

    hi,
    ypur structure is bad defined.
    if you want to do an insert, the DT should be
    <ns0:MT_JDBC_RECEIVER xmlns:ns0="http://file_to_jdbc">
    ___<StatementName>
    ______<dbTableName action=”INSERT”>
    _____<table>MATMAS</table>
    _______ <access>

    ___________<GEWEI>KG</GEWEI>
    ______</access>
    _____</dbTableName>
    __ </StatementName>
    </ns0:MT_JDBC_RECEIVER>
    the ROW field is used when you wait receive data from DB for example you execute and SQL Query from Sender communication channel "SELECT name FROM TABLE Names"
    so, the result of this query would be, for example:
    <row>
    ____<name>joge</name>
    </row>
    <row>
    ____<name>pepe</name>
    </row>

  • Error when using Oracle Migration WorkBench (Sql Server 2k to Oracle 8i)

    I'm trying to migrate a Sql Server 2k database to an Oracle 8i schema using OMWB. After using BCP to collect metadata information on the source database, I tried to capture the source data model and got a "Capture aborted" message on the progress screen (even though then it appears a dialog window reporting "0 errors and 0 warnings", funny!). Down there is the error log OMWB generated. After reading some posts, I changed some columns of the OMWB dictionary that holds the source database name, but still got the same error. If someone can enlighten me on this toppic, I'd greatly appreciated it.
    Here's the error log of OMWB:

  • Error 1000: AFx Library library exception: Sql encountered an error: These columns don't currently have unique values.

    Hi everyone,
    Using the Writer block, configured with a correct SQLAzure instance, I experience this error:
    - Error 1000: AFx Library library exception: Sql encountered an error: These columns don't currently have unique values.
    I have read that this error can be related to inheritance problems, but my table does not have inheritances of any kind:
    CREATE TABLE [dbo].[my_table](
    [my_float] [float] NULL
    ) ON [PRIMARY]
    GO
    Writer block parameters:
    Comma separated list of columns to be saved:
    temp      (from Bike Rental UCI Dataset)
    Data Table name: [dbo].[my_table]
    Comma separated list of datatable columns:
    [my_float]
    The experiment from which I have extracted the writing part was able to correctly write to DB until few days ago. Is it possible that some changes in the platform are causing this issue or am I doing something wrong?
    Thank you and best regards,
    FV

    Hi Maureen,
    Yes, the scenario is correct. On SQL profiler I can't see any SQL operation that can lead to that kind of error, but as you were saying it was worth trying anyway having that error message.
    New test scenario:
    CREATE TABLE [dbo].[my_table_identity](
        [ID] [int] IDENTITY(1,1) NOT NULL,
        [my_float] [float] NULL,
     CONSTRAINT [PK_my_table_identity] PRIMARY KEY CLUSTERED
        [ID] ASC
    )WITH (PAD_INDEX  = OFF, STATISTICS_NORECOMPUTE  = OFF, IGNORE_DUP_KEY = OFF, ALLOW_ROW_LOCKS  = ON, ALLOW_PAGE_LOCKS  = ON)
    ) ON [PRIMARY]
    -- These lines work fine on SQL Management Studio
    INSERT INTO [dbo].[my_table_identity] (my_float) VALUES (1.23)
    INSERT INTO [dbo].[my_table_identity] (my_float) VALUES (1.23)
    INSERT INTO [dbo].[my_table_identity] (my_float) VALUES (1.23)
    -- I can see all new rows with each one a different ID
    SELECT * FROM [dbo].[my_table_identity]
    dbo is the default schema for my Azure login.
    New writer block parameters:
    Comma separated list of columns to be saved: temp
       (from Bike Rental UCI Dataset)
    Data Table name: my_table_identity
    Comma separated list of datatable columns: my_float
    I still get the same error: Error 1000: AFx Library library exception: Sql encountered an error: These columns don't currently have unique values.
    I have also tried to pass the "instant" column instead of "temp", as it hasn't any duplicated values, but still no luck.
    I attach the log file (purged of sensitive information) because I see some error / warnings there.

  • How to suppress compiler errors without excluding database objects from the "Schema Compare" tool (using VS2013/SSDT)

    Hi,
    In short: How to suppress compiler errors without excluding the object from the "Schema Compare" tool ??
    A bit longer:
    We have a SQL Server 2008 project in Visual Studio 2013 running SQL Server Data Tool.
    An old database, with a lot of history in, has been imported into SSDT and there are many syntax errors preventing the project from compiling/running. An typical error is: "SQL70001: This statement is not recognized in this context".
    Running the "faulty" scripts on the server, executes just fine. I understand that there are syntax errors and they should be rewritten, but it's not gonna happen just like that - it is a slow process over a long period of time.
    I know it is possible to change Build Action to None, but that also exclude the object from appearing in the Schema Compare function/window.
    So - how to ignore some compiler errors and still having the objects to appear when doing "Schema Compare" ??
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi Steven,
    Thanks for your comments.
    Well, it sure does help in the future, but right now i would prefer the other way - to suppress some errors and still allow the scripts to build.
    The thing is that if we "rewrite" the objects into create scripts, then we have a huge test job ahead of us + the database environments (PROD vs DEV and UAT) does not share the same AD or DB users and therefore grants is lost if dropping/creating
    objects, right!
    If you drop a object before creating it, the drop will also drop the roles and grants and since they don't share user table, the create will not be able to add the permissions again. There might be a solution to that, but it is going to be very complicated
    for some newbies like us. We need something we can trust.

    Hi,
    This is usually a SERVER SIDE DATABASE PROBLEM or SQLNET LISTENER (server side) PROBLEM.  The client side should initially be ignored and instead the server should be investigated. In rare cases, this can be caused by client
    side memory or other resource problem, or a DLL version mismatch, but this is
    unlikely.
    Enlist the assistance of your DBA.  Then reproduce the ORA-3113 error on your
    client application.  Ask your DBA to look at the database side Alert.log and
    trace files and look for ANY activity.  Any activity that coincides with your
    ORA-3113 will be a clue.

  • REP-1401: 'cf_10formula': Fatal PL/SQL error occurred. ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error

    Hi Team,
    I am running one conc programme.
    After running I am getting below  error. I checked the issue on metalink  and other, seems that it is an size related issue. I have increased the size of formula columns and placeholdder too.
    But still getting issue.
    My requirement is to get comma seperated values using SQL query itself. Neither i wanted to create layout of the report , since it is a XML publisher report and nor  I am including it on RTF template.
    I want the CF_10 formula column to be populated with comma seperated values.
    MSG-00187: From Date 01-Sep-2014
    REP-1401: 'cf_10formula': Fatal PL/SQL error occurred.
    ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error
    And Here is my code for CF_10
    function CF_10Formula return Number is
    begin
       SELECT NVL(TO_CHAR(sum(Amount),'99,99,99,999'),0) into :CP_5 --NVL(ROUND(sum(Amount)),0) into :CP_5
    --  xxhw_Coll_cat(category)     "Intercat  Catg"
    FROM hhxw_Region_col_v
    WHERE Category IN ('Intercompany - CATV')
    AND trunc(gl_date) BETWEEN TO_DATE(:P_FROM_DATE, 'DD/MM/RRRR') AND TO_DATE(:P_TO_DATE, 'DD/MM/RRRR');
    RETURN ROUND(:CP_5);
    end;
    Anyone please suggest me.
    Regards,
    Sachin

    Hi,
    1)Why are you selecting the value into a report item? Select into a local variable and return that
    RETURN :CP_5 --> This one!!
    2)And you should avoid applying functions to DB columns in where clauses wherever possible, so oracle can use indexes on them if applicable:
    AND gl_date >= To_date(:P_FROM_DATE, 'DD/MM/RRRR')
    AND gl_date < To_date( :P_TO_DATE, 'DD/MM/RRRR') + 1;
    I think you are taking 2 column in the Layout CF_10 and CP_5 right? if so, then use below Query.
    FUNCTION cf_10formula
      RETURN NUMBER
    IS
      v_amount NUMBER:null;
    IS
    BEGIN
      BEGIN
        SELECT nvl(round(SUM(amount)), 0)
        INTO   v_amount --> Retruns the value for CF_10 column
        FROM   hhxw_region_col_v
        WHERE  category IN ( 'Intercompany - CATV' )
        AND    gl_date >= to_date(:P_FROM_DATE, 'DD/MM/RRRR')
        AND    gl_date < to_date( :P_TO_DATE, 'DD/MM/RRRR') + 1;
        :CP_5 := nvl(trunc(v_amount),0); --> Retruns the value for CP_5 column
      EXCEPTION
      WHEN OTHERS THEN
        v_amount := 0;
        srw.message(1003,'Error in Getting  :' ||p_from_date);
      END;
    END;
    And
    If you've got a number function returning into a number field then all you should need to do to make the comma appear is to change the number format mask in field.

    Set=Full Resultset as your query returns a resultset? also i think variable to be mapped should be of object type.
    Then for data flow task also you need to put it inside a ForEachLoop based on ADO.NET recordset and map your earlier variable inside it so as to iterate for every value the sql task returns.

  • Error :  REP-771: 'afterpform': Fatal PL/SQL error occurred

    I have oracle app server 10gr2 on solaris.
    when i try to access the reports it shows me the error : REP-771: 'afterpform': Fatal PL/SQL error occurred
    Did not get any good information from the logs.
    How can I solve the problem or any other logs I can look yet.
    Thanks

    I'd assume you change varchar2 to clob in db. Reports does not support clob so you need to_char() on the former varchar2 column, which is clob now.
