Errors on schema import/export

Hi all,
I have a release 10.2.0.3.0.
I exported a schema with
exp user/password OWNER=PIN20 FILE=/opt/oracle/admin/dportal/export/PIN20_new.dmp log=/opt/oracle/admin/dportal/export/expPIN20.log
and now I try to import with
imp user/password  FILE=/opt/oracle/admin/dportal/export/PIN20_new.dmp log=/opt/oracle/admin/dportal/export/impPIN20.log fromuser=PIN20 touser=PIN24
but I get the following errors:

  • Lax validation errors on schema import ('version' exceeds maximum length)

I have a schema as per below. I'm trying to import it into Oracle 10.2.0.2.0. However, I'm getting the following lax validation error:
Error loading ora_business_rule.xsd:ORA-30951: Element or attribute at Xpath /schema[@version] exceeds maximum length
I can fix it by modifying the attribute and shortening it but I'd like to know why it's occuring. Insofar as I can tell there is no imposed limit on the size of schema attributes according to the W3C standard. Which then makes me wonder: does Oracle impose limits on the length of all attributes or is this specific to 'version' ? If there is a limit, what is the upper bound (in bytes) ? Where is this documented?
    Cheers,
    Daniel

  • Schema Import failed :IMP-00008: unrecognized statement in the export file:

    Hi ,
I was running a database schema import from a database DMP file.
I encountered the following error in the log file that was getting generated :
IMP-00008: unrecognized statement in the export file:
All the tables got copied except for one. Now what I have thought of is to import that one table again after taking an export from the prod schema.
But what about the functions, triggers, procedures ?? How do i bring all of them in the schema ?
If reimporting the schema again the only option ?
    Thanks
    Kk

    Hello,
    In this order:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14215/exp_imp.htm#i1023988
    Table Objects: Order of Import
Table objects are imported as they are read from the export file. The export file contains objects in the following order:
    1. Type definitions
    2. Table definitions
    3.Table data
    4.Table indexes
    5. Integrity constraints, views, procedures, and triggers
    6. Bitmap, function-based, and domain indexes
The order of import is as follows: new tables are created, data is imported and indexes are built, triggers are imported, integrity constraints are enabled on the new tables, and any bitmap, function-based, and/or domain indexes are built. This sequence prevents data from being rejected due to the order in which tables are imported. This sequence also prevents redundant triggers from firing twice on the same data (once when it is originally inserted and again during the import).
For example, if the emp table has a referential integrity constraint on the dept table and the emp table is imported first, all emp rows that reference departments that have not yet been imported into dept would be rejected if the constraints were enabled.
When data is imported into existing tables, however, the order of import can still produce referential integrity failures. In the situation just given, if the emp table already existed and referential integrity constraints were in force, many rows could be rejected.
A similar situation occurs when a referential integrity constraint on a table references itself. For example, if scott's manager in the emp table is drake, and drake's row has not yet been loaded, scott's row will fail, even though it would be valid at the end of the import.

  • Getting an error while importing/exporting the universe from my BO Designer

    Hi,
I am facing a issue while importing/exporting the universe from my BO Designer to the Server. The error is mentioned below.
'File Repository Server Input is down'
Once I click the OK button on this error message, it displays  the message
       'Could not import the Universe'.
I tried the check the status of the File Repository Server (Ouput and Input) and also the of the Root Directory on the  Physical Server and also my machine. They all have read-write access.
Installed Version of the Universe Designer Client: Business Object XI Release 2 SP3
Installed Version of the BO Enterprise Server: Business Object XI Release 2 SP2
Can you please help me to resolve the issue

    Hi,
The step you have mentioned may not be applicable to my issue as one of my colleagues can import/export the universe from the same server
The second thing is that a DB2 Client v9 is installed on both mine and my colleagues system. The Designer software can recognise the DB2 drivers on his system but it cannot recognise the same drivers on my system.I even checked the versions of the BO software installed on his and my system and they are same.
The only difference is that his machine is a Windows XP Machine and mine is a Network Desktop.
Will any of the above two things will affect the operation of the BO Designer.
    Thanks

  • Error in import/export of functions - for the apex team

After exporting functions, the import gives an error.
    Reason :
the export generates a script with
    function \
    function
importing this script gives an error because only the first function is imported. or the functions seems to be togheter one function
    the export should generate
    function
    function
    Leo

Leo - I logged into your workspace and exported the functions. The generated script looks perfectly good. I then uploaded that file into my own workspace and ran the script. The functions were all created as separate functions.
There must be something happening at your end causing newline characters in the file to be lost or something. Or maybe I didn't follow exactly the steps you did.
BTW, when you mentioned the "\" character in your original post, I assumed you meant the "/" character.

    Smash126

    Hi Smash126,
Based on the error message” Could not allocate a new page for database REPORTING' because of insufficient disk space in filegroup 'PRIMARY'. Create the necessary space by dropping objects in the filegroup, adding additional files to the filegroup, or setting
autogrowth on for existing files in the filegroup”, we can know that the issue is caused by the there is no sufficient disk space in filegroup 'PRIMARY' for the ‘REPORTING’ database.
To fix this issue, we can add additional files to the filegroup by add a new file to the PRIMARY filegroup on Files page, or setting Autogrowth on for existing files in the filegroup to increase the necessary space.

  • Error import / export in console standalone

    hai all,
error import / export in console standalone
iam logged in 9i console standalone pc not connected any other pc.
unable to import or export or load any database
    because the error shows that
only on OMS mode is possible
how can import or export or load?
    any help?
    thanks in advance
    rcs
    ------

I have no idea what you are asking or in what environment you are work.
Lets start with the need for a version number ... 9i is not a version ... it is a marketing label. Do you mean 9.0.? or 9.2.0.1 or 9.2.0.8 no one knows.
Second I have no idea what a you intend to convey with the statement "console standalone pc."
Third "unable" means what? That the pc crashed and burned and is a smoldering cinder or you received some error message you thought too unimportant to post? Again ... you've given us no useful information.
Finally what do you mean by OMS? Is this OMS as in the Java application running as part of the Grid Control or something else?
Finally what are you trying to import? How? A clear explanation is required.
If someone reading what you post can not understand or duplicate what you did because of lack of information you will not receive any help.

  • Strange error message when importing one schema into another

    Hello,
using Oracle Workshop for Weblogic 10.3, I am trying to define a new schema A which imports the namespace of an already existing schema B. The schema validator states that schema B is valid.
However, when I try to add an import directive in the design view and try to select schema B as the schema location I get the error message that B.xsd is an invalid schema file. When I manually add the import directive in the source view, I can refer to all elements of the namespace defined in schema B. Unfortunately, schema A now is marked as invalid with the error message "The dependency is not configure in schema resource. Possible reason one or more import/include is not set correctly."
Even external schema validation tools do not find any validation errors in schema B.
    Any ideas?
    Kind regards
    Alexander

  • Import/Export xls Error

    Hi,
I'm facing a problem with import/export xls files.
Once I selected the file the system doesn't return any response even if the file has very small size (about 70 KB).
It happens both from workbench and web.
Furthermore I can't to export something to Excel (I.e. the categories)
    Any suggestion about it?
    Thank you

    Import XLS:
Make sure the ups* range in your XLS workbook is defined to include all rows you want to import, including the two header rows.
Please also be aware that XLS Import only adds records and does not update/overwrite what's already in there. If you want to change mappings/periods etc., you need to delete these records first and then add them again.
    Export to XLS:
Your settings for export sound ok. Maybe there's an issue with the MIME Types on the web server - but I'm not too familiar with that, maybe someone else has an idea on this.
If you export to XLS a file should be created in Outbox\Excel (not during import, just want to make sure I'm clear on this).

  • How to import/export in Pl/SQL ?

    Hello
I want to write a procedure in PL/SQL which will be copying one user's schema to another.
    I have Oracle 9i on Windows 2000.
My first idea was to use IMP EXP commands, but i need to execute this commands from PL/SQL procedure. How can I do this, except from writing Java procedure using Runtime class - I've done it, it works, but sometimes occure an critical error in Oracle Kernel, and I'm sure that Java code is ok.
Or maybe there is much easier way to solve such a problem (PL/SQL interface for import/export or something)?
    Thanks for any hints.

No, imp/exp are standalone utilities with no PL/SQL API. Java would be the way to do it.
