Errors running dual instances of SAPR3
Hello,
We've migrated our SAP environment to a new server in QA and are adapting Cronacle to run jobs in the two (old and new) envirnoments simultaneously for the next three weeks. That said, we have installed the new process server, and it's up and running. We have created a new instance and client. We have the RFC agent running for both. However, we are getting errors when trying to shut down the new RFC agent. Please see the error below. We had previously gotten this error when trying to start the old RFC agent, but it was resolved when we reinstalled SAPR3 module to the old server. Now we're seeing it again. Any ideas? The port for the old RFC agent is 20810, but we setup the new RFC agent to use 20820 using RW_MAINTAIN_INSTANCES.
ORA-04061: existing state of has been invalidated
ORA-04061: existing state of package body "SYSJCS.RSISYS" has been invalidated
ORA-04065: not executed, altered or dropped package body "SYSJCS.RSISYS"
ORA-06508: PL/SQL: could not find program unit being called: "SYSJCS.RSISYS"
JCS-00270: master agent is not able to start running this job
Any help is appreciated. Thanks!!

Thanks for your quick reply!
Yes we have run RW_SAPR3_INSTALL once for the new SAP server and once for the old. After running the install, we recompiled from RS prompt, then compiled all invalid objects, then ran many grants and created synonyms to allow SYSJCS access to RSI objects (and vice versa). When we run a job in the new SAP instance we get the below error. Maybe this helps?
RSI-00001: unable to connect to localhost port 20810; error -1
OS-22: Invalid argument
Error when connecting to host null on port 20810
Here are the grants/synonyms/etc that were run once as SYSJCS and once as RSI user.
revoke priv create_any_script from bechtel_operator_q;
grant execute on rsireg to IM;
grant execute on rsivar to IM;
create public synonym rsireg for sysjcs.rsireg;
create public synonym rsivar for rsi.rsivar;
grant execute on sysjcs.rsisys to RSI;
drop public synonym RSI_XBP_VARIANT_CREATE;
create public synonym RSI_XBP_VARIANT_CREATE for rsi.RSI_XBP_VARIANT_CREATE;
grant execute on RSI_XBP_VARIANT_CREATE to IM;
drop public synonym RSI_XBP_VARIANT_CHANGE;
create public synonym RSI_XBP_VARIANT_CHANGE for rsi.RSI_XBP_VARIANT_CHANGE;
grant execute on RSI_XBP_VARIANT_CHANGE to IM;
commit;
I can try running RW_SAPR3_INSTALL again for the new server but I'm afraid it will break the old instance just like it did before.

Getting Error :- Only one instance of COBRAS Export can be running at a time
Hi All,
I was checking the Briefcase Mode help file and it mentions for Unity Conection
that COBRAS will run multiple instances of itself – if you schedule multiple backups to fire up at the same time they will all run at the same time.
However if I schedule multiple backups to fire at the same time then I get the error :- "Only one instance of COBRAS Export can be running at a time".
This also happens if the COBRAS windows is left open and the scheduled backup starts in the background.
http://www.ciscounitytools.com/Applications/General/COBRAS/Help/COBRAS_Briefcase/COBRAS_Briefcase.htm#_Toc276653845
I am not sure if I am making a mistake in understanding the statement :- "COBRAS will run multiple instances of itself – if you schedule multiple backups to fire up at the same time" or do we need to add any switch like lot of other application need like /m etc in the field of the scheduled backups as I see as /silent switch for process to run in background automatically but none for multiple instances.
I am attaching the screen shots of the errors I got when
A.) I scheduled 2 backups to run at the same time and the COBRAS application window was open "COBRASExportCUC7.exe" was running and no backup took place and got errors for both the scheduled backups.
And
B.) I scheduled 2 backups to run at the same time and the COBRAS application window was closed off and "COBRASExportCUC7.exe" was not running and one of the scheduled backups started to work and the other one gave error and didn't work
Unity Connection in use :- Version 8.0.3.20000-18
Cobras Export :- Version 1.0 Build 76
Please Suggest.
Regards,
Prad
(E-Mail :- [email protected])Yeah, I’m of two minds on that – on the one hand it’s bad style to have a scheduled application popping dialog boxes (especially if you’re running as an account you don’t log in as regularly) – one the other hand I did have some sites go a while not noticing backups were failing (due to a UNC not flying any longer after a server reconfig) – folks can be bad about checking log files or the event log for issues. A pop up would pretty much guarantee they’d notice on next login at any rate.
I think I may stitch in email notifications in COBRAS Export in the same way they’re in the User Data Dump so failures of scheduled backups would be noticed right away (big, bright email in your box saying “failed!” would do it).
Either way, I’ll update the help and make sure it fails quietly for now when I update some other items on the site middle of next week.
Thanks for the report. -
I have an SSIS package which loads data from an Excel file into a SQL Database. This SSIS package is triggered by a batch file.
As part of a load test, I have created 20 batch files that run the same package for a different Excel file.
To have these batch files run together, I have created 2 master batch files, one to run them sequentially (using CALL) and the to run them parallely (using START). I do have any issues in both of them.
But when I try to run 5 instances of the same batch file run concurrently (using START XYZ.bat 5 times) only 1 succeeds. CALL XYZ.bat 5 times has no issues.
Is it because during START, the Excel file is opened by 1 batch file and unavailable to the other 4 instances? If yes, then why doesn't SSIS throw an error when I run the package through BIDS keeping the Excel file opened? Is there something I can do to
overcome a FAILURE?
Nelton D'Souza MS BI DeveloperYes, it seems that since you open the same file from multiple processes the error occurs due to the sharing violation.
I guess you will get the error opening several Excel files from BIDS trying to read / write to it if you have two BIDS so it is consistent. Excel disallows multiple access paths by its design.

Error run time DYNPRO_FIELD_CONVERSION
I have a dump:
Errore run-time DYNPRO_FIELD_CONVERSION
Verific. il 28.11.2007 h 02:12:16
A conversion error occurred.
Causa dell'errore
The current screen processing was terminated, since a situation
occurred from which it could not continue processing.
This is probably due to an error in the current screen of the ABAP
program.
Possibili soluzioni
Make a note of the actions and input which caused the error.
To resolve the problem, contact your SAP system administrator.
You can use transaction ST22 (ABAP Dump Analysis) to view and administer
termination messages, especially those beyond their normal deletion
date.
Analisi errori
The program flow was interrupted and could not be resumed.
Program "SAPMM06B" tried to display fields on screen 0106. However, an
error occurred while this data was being converted.
Indic. per la correzione
A conversion error occurred while the program was trying to
display data on the screen.
The ABAP output field and the screen field may not have the
same format.
Some field types require more characters on the screen than
in the ABAP program. For example, a date field on a screen needs
two characters more than it would in the program. When attempting to
display the date on the screen, an error will occur that triggers the
error message.
Screen name.............. "SAPMM06B"
Screen number............ 0106
Screen field............. "EBAN-MENGE"
Error text............... "FX015: Sign lost."
Further data:
If you cannot solve the problem yourself, please send the
following documents to SAP:
1. A hard copy print describing the problem.
To obtain this, select the "Print" function on the current screen.
2. A suitable hardcopy prinout of the system log.
To obtain this, call the system log with Transaction SM21
and select the "Print" function to print out the relevant
part.
3. If the programs are your own programs or modified SAP programs,
supply the source code.
To do this, you can either use the "PRINT" command in the editor or
print the programs using the report RSINCL00.
4. Details regarding the conditions under which the error occurred
or which actions and input led to the error.
It is probably not possible to eliminate the system error
with ABAP alone.
If you have access to SAPnet, you can search for a relevant note

Error while deleting instances and Human Tasks arent deleted
Hi,
The Error:
Cannot delete instances.
The process domain was unable to purge the instances from the datastore. The exception reported is: [POL-5130] table or view SYSTEM.WI_FAULT not found
Please check that the machine hosting the datasource is physically connected to the network. Otherwise, check that the datasource connection parameters (user/password) is currently valid.
sql statement: DELETE FROM wi_fault WHERE domain_ref = ?
When I query tasks over a jsp i also get the uncompleted human tasks from the deleted instances ( the try to delete them, i think they are there, but in the BPEL Console i cant see them anymore).
The Error occured since i patched my oracle soa suite 10.1.3.1 to 10.1.3.3.
What can I do?
I hope someone can help me.
My best RegardsI think you didn't ran the upgrade-script when you've installed the patchset 10.1.3.3 to your bpel environment.
Check the readme file of the patchset and you will see in the post-installation tasks you need to run the upgrade-script to patch your database environment as well.
Kind regards,
Nathalie -

Could you please help me? I have search through the forum but I couldn't find anything that solves my problem. As I've read in this post (https://kr.forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=10596716), I've tried to set the value of the variable bpel.config.transaction to requiresNew instead of required but it isn't working.
I suppose it has to do with the new version of the server but I can't find anything to solve it :(
Thank you in advance!!! I hope you can help me!
Best regards.Frank,
I tried to follow the example. This is the file: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E18941_01/tutorials/jdtut_11r2_53/labs/restsolution.zip
The other part of the exercise is to develop an ADF Client.
At "Step 5: Create the Model Components" when I create the URL_Get the error appears and don't create the datacontrol.
I check the links and RESTConn and are OK.
I hope this helps.

I want to run dual monitors with my hp compaq dc5800 Small From e7400 @ 2.8ghz. Will it work and what video card do you recomend?
Yes, I see that I was in error when I posted that. Sorry.
The quickspecs for any dc5800 state that it has a:
(1) low profile PCIe x16 (SDVO/ADD2) slot.
Accordingly, the only card you can install would be this one...

Please!!!Some body help me solve this problem(except format my computer),i really really need your advice.Hi huydaibang,
The older version SQL Server 2005 could be installed with SQL Server 2008 R2 side-by-side. It could not be the problem.
The reason that we get this error message is the client stack could not receive SSRP response UDP packet from SQL Browser.
Here are the steps:
1) Make sure your server name is correct, e.g., no typo on the name.
2) Make sure your instance name is correct and there is actually such an instance on your target machine.
3) Make sure the server machine is reachable, e.g, DNS can be resolve correctly, you are able to ping the server (not always true).
4) Make sure SQL Browser service is running on the server.
5) If firewall is enabled on the server, you need to put sqlbrowser.exe and/or UDP port 1434 into exception.
For more information, please refer to
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/sql_protocols/archive/2007/05/13/sql-network-interfaces-error-26-error-locating-server-instance-specified.aspx.
Thanks,
Maggie

Best design running multiple instances of desktop based java applications b
Hi,
I am not sure if this is the right forum...
Please suggest on what should be the best design for running 10 instances of same desktop based java applications (No Enterprise or Webcomponents) on different machines BUT still using the same database.
Summary:
a) Each application will do writes/updates to same database but will run from different locations.
b) These applications will reside at different locations (example country, city) but same domain, so it will use separate JVM.
c) How to tell application where it resides and what should be the best way to determine location automatically from the network? (we would like to avoid any property setting as update will require to change this file also), if database is good approach, what should be the best design.
d) Best way to handle transaction...
for example, if one component that writes to an Oracle table, then a downstream component reads the new insert from the table. In this case what should be the best practice in the code for transaction awareness, to avoid issues.
Thanks
ValOracle runs a transaction control model on a thread--each login. All other threads will not be able to see the data that is updated or inserted until a commit is done. The same thread can, however, see the updated or inserted information as soon as the update or insert takes place a transaction commit is not needed for that to happen and it is not an error--you must do a commit to make the changes to the data visible to other users and persistent. If you do not commit the changes they will rollback once your session is terminated.
If you turn autocommit on, then each update or insert will automatically commit and be available to all users, but each statement becomes a transaction and you loose the ability to rollback any changes. -
Running multiple instances of program at same time problems
I have a c++ program that uses BerkeleyDB 4.8.26 with transactions. Program works well, and I can run multiple instances of program and they cooperate on database very well. Problem arises when I run a small test program that runs 10 instances of the same program at same time.
Test program opens database with transactions, it does some database reads and writes and quits. This test is run in 10 instances of the same program at the same time. Some instances run and finish well, other instances end up with some of these errors:
unable to allocate memory for the lock table
PANIC: Cannot allocate memory
Error opening environment: DB_RUNRECOVERY: Fatal error, run database recovery
another with:
db_files/__db.001: No such file or directory
db_files: No such file or directory
Error opening environment: Invalid argument
others with this one:
Log file corrupt at LSN: [1][84474]
fileops: close db_files/log.0000000001
PANIC: Invalid argument
unable to join the environment
db_files: No such file or directory
Error opening environment: DB_RUNRECOVERY: Fatal error, run database recovery
I don't understand reason of this error, as I thought (and read) that BerkeleyDB should be able to handle multiple instances accessing database and is thread-safe.
I tried to run the test on both NFS and local disk drive with same results.
Is there anyone with ide what could be causing this problem ? My platform is x86_64 GNU/Linux 2.6.18-164.el5

Latest DisplayLink Drivers For Running Dual Monitors on Mac Lion OS Crashes Fireworks CS5
I run dual monitors off of my 2011 MacBook Pro via the Diamond BVU195 HD USB Display Adapter. The Diamond BVU195 uses DisplayLink drivers.
I upgraded my Mac OS to Lion yesterday and had to update my DisplayLink drivers to the latest version: 1.7b2. The new drivers enabled me to use my 2 monitors again. However, they also cause Adobe Fireworks CS5 to crash every time I try to open it. When I unplug the Diamond BVU195 and just use the laptop screen, Fireworks opens and works just fine.
Here is the error code that Adobe Fireworks CS5 is spititng out:

Submit a SAP job and it is erroring out as "instance/client not found"
I am trying to submit a SAP job and it is erroring out as "instance/client not found"
as soon as I enter the instance/client value and click on next I am getting this error
please helpHi,
Then maybe there is a problem with another parameter, and the error is obscured by this error message.
You did specify valid values for all other parameters ?
Maybe you can try the following:
- create a simple job in SAP, you do not have to execute it only save it
- import this job using RSI_IMPORT_CCMS_JOBS and specify the exact job name
- run the imported job (it will have the same name as in SAP) and see if this works
- if this works, try your job again directly from CPS and compare your parameters with those on the imported job (especially which ones are filled or not filled, that sometimes is more important than the exact value chosen)

Lync SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified
Dear all,
I'm getting an error when I want to publish my Lync Topology. Thanks in advance.
error:
Error: A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while
establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not
accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is
configured to allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces,
error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified)Hi,
Would you please elaborate your Lync server environment?
Did the FE server and BE server on different subnets? If so, please try to relocate the SQL server in the same subnet as FE server and then check again.
Please also double check if the step of “Prepare first Standard Edition Server” ran succeed, if not please run again.
Here is a blog may help you:

Why are you not using the actual, official, Installation Guide? It's at tahiti.oracle.com, along with the rest of the official documentation.
