ESB: Header

Hi All,
We have are facing issue of ESB not propogating header information to endpoint. Did any one face this issue?
Following link says, "Some Oracle Enterprise Service Bus features are available in Preview mode and will be supported in a later release." and it contains "Header support for SOAP Headers, such as security, encryption, and WS-Addressing"
Is it still not supported in 10.1.3.3?

We don't want to use getRequestHeader and setOutboundHeader for each element and attribute of header as we are handling WS-Security Header and we don't want to limit the application only to one type of security.

Please specify the Inbound Adapter type, and the Outbound Adapter type

Exception in ESB Header Functions (ehdr:getRequestHeader)

Hi,
I was working on the context based routing in the ESB.
My scenario is a simple File to File scenario where I want to make some changes
in the Filter Expressions in the Routing service part.
I want to include the Header functions in order to route the file adapters.
If I Input some two text files of different name in Input File what file name I have
specified in the Header must only written in the Output File.
For this I am trying it in RS Filter Expression part and when I drop the Header
function ehdr:getRequestHeader function some exception is shown like
Funtion of name "ehdr:getRequestHeader" not Found .
I was also using the sample Headersupport demo working component which they
have specified in the following link.

There isn't much GUI support but look at the JMS sample jdev project and study the filters for routing and xsl for setting headers. The hardest part is setting the namespaces correctly.

We want to perform Authentication/Authorization in Oracle ESB (10.1.3.4) for all our business processes that are invoked from the UX. If user has proper
credentials, the credentials will be passed in the SOAP header, then only we want business operation to be invoked. Is there any way to write a custom java header handler/interceptor to perform this action? In case the authentication fails we want to return an exception to the client.
Any help is appreciated.

ESB Header Issue

Hi All,
ESB doesn't send header information from Request to Oubound. Only way to pass is to add a xformer and use getRequestHeader and setOutbundHeader for all variables that needs to be passed as a part of header.
Is any other way to do this?

Calling secured services from ESB

How to invoke secured (HTTP Basic/WS-Security) web services from ESB? BPEL supports it via partner link properties/adapter header properties.

This is a sneak peek at how headers are used. This example shows how to set outbound WS-Sec headers using a routing serrvice XSLT. Create a transformation in a RS that is invoking an outbound SOAP service and add the text below. Note it uses xsl variables and some new esb header xpath functions.
For using ws-security in ESB you need to add the variable username and password in your xsl transformation template against the target. As below

ESB and Stateful web services

Folks,
I’ve got two web services that are called in succession. The first web service performs a search and caches the results on the server, returning only some basic information about how many results were found (in the payload) and a session id (as an attribute in a HTTP header). The second service is called afterwards, passing some page request information (in payload) and the session id (in the HTTP header). The session id is used to find the appropriate search results and return them lazily (based the given page request information).
The web service requests are done through ESB and OWSM. My problem, however, is that according to the ESB developer’s guide (http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31017_01/integrate.1013/b28211.pdf , page 5-29, ‘Limitations of ESB Header Support’) ESB is not capable of setting header attributes (at least not SOAP header attributes).
Is it possible to use stateful web services with the ESB? If so, how is the SessionID handled on the ESB and how is it correlated with the clients of the ESB who are getting the results back from this stateful web service?

We have invoked the two services mentioned above in four different manners using Java code.
1. We are invoking the services through ESB with no success. The HTTP header (set-cookie) never makes it back.
2. We are invoking the services through Web Services Manager (the services are registered directly with OWSM) with no success. The HTTP header (set-cookie) never makes it back.
3. We are invoking the services through Web Services Manager (with ESB providing a wrapper for the services) with no success. The HTTP header never (set-cookie) makes it back.
4. Invoking the services directly (no OWSM, no ESB). This method is successful. HTTP headers are being exchanged without incident.
We are using Ethereal to check out the traffic going back and forth so we can see the SOAP headers getting propagated back and forth as you had mentioned. The problem is that the HTTP headers (as mentioned in my first posting) containing the session information are getting dropped when using ESB or Web Services Manager.
Any suggestions?

Hope below statements from the above link will make you clear about Dehydration Store:
"all successfully executed process instances are stored in the Dehydration Store. Currently a BPEL instance is saved in two tables after the instance is completed: cube_instance and cube_scope. The former stores the instance header information: domain, creation date, state (completed, running, stale, cancelled), priority, title, and so on. The latter stores the state of the instance, (variable values and so on). By default, both tables are used to store a completed instance."

Custom SOAPAction for Oracle ESB?

I assume you mean Outbound from ESB using an ESB SOAP Service. Are you referring to HTTP header or SOAP header? SOAP headers can be manipulated using ESB header support as shown on otn.oracle.com/goto/esb while HTTP headers cannot except for basic authentication using endpoint properties in ESB Control.

ESB requires "SOAPAction" to be set in HTTP header?

I'm trying to insert an ESB flow between an existing web service and client. The service and client were previously built with Apache Axis.
By generating an appropriate WSDL (doc/wrapped rather than Axis' default RPC style) for the existing service, I'm able to connect the ESB to the service.
The problem is that the existing client (built using Axis) sets the SOAPAction in the HTTP header to empty (SOAPAction: ""), and the ESB appears to require this to be set to the desired operation. If this is a hard requirement, then I can't directly connect the existing client to the ESB flow.
So, the question is whether it's possible to have the ESB relax the requirement for the SOAPAction header. And if so, how?
If I can't get the ESB to accept SOAP requests with an empty SOAPAction, then I'll have to create a custom adapter or insert an additional proxy layer (yuk). Anyone else have any suggestions?

Setting JMS Message header and properties in JMS Adapter ESB Component

Hi,
I am new to using some of these adapters in Oracle ESB and need some help.
I am trying to define a JMS Publisher using JMS Adapter component in JDeveloper. I would like to publish messages with message property set to a topic. I dont find a way to do that.
I see that for consuming JMS messages, the JMS Adapter allows to specify message selector but I could not find a way for producing message with a user defined message property. I would like to use that property in the message selector to filter messages and consume.
I am using Oracle SOA Suite 10.1.3.3.x

I think I found the solution although I havent tried it out yet.
ESB sample 110.JMStoJMSHeaders outlines the approach.
It is my understanding that JMS Message selector can work on JMS header or JMS properties (user defined) but not on JMS body. (All the three constitue a JMS message). Hence the need to set a JMS property prior to publishing the message to a topic/queue.

Reading ESB Request Header elements

Hi!
Is it possible to get to SOAP header elements using ehdr:getRequestHeader() function? If yes, can someone provide and example of it? Also, what all are included in the Request Header? Is there a place where I can learn more about Request and other ESB headers?

The only header I get is sap-ep-version, but I am referencing my WD application via iView.
When I access my WD app via URL, then it doesn't have any HTTP headers.
I can pass in URL parameters, which is picked up as HTTP headers. For security reasons, I would rather not send information as URL parameters.
I am guessing the code above is for URL parameters. Is there an option/configuration I am missing here?

Error while testing a web service using JMSAdapter in ESB

When ever I test the web service to invoke this service I get the following error :

It happens when server is custom installed, try to reinstall it as full version and problem should disappear otherwise your need another full installation to retrieve and replace orabpel.jar file from (or maybe more)

The process deployed is an ESB service .However on execution of the above code I get the following message as the response from the server. Also there is no new instance of the ESB services created (to show that the service was triggered)
