Esimated Number of rows totally show wrong

Hi
I have tuned a procedure to show list of bills , Its just 3000 every day When i use my development server the plan is correct and it shows correct estimated rows, but once i check the server in the site ,the estimated no of rows show all the
rows in the table 24956731 , I run index rebuild and statistics update but still remains same ,do i need to do any other thing
The version is SQL server 2012 both
please help me

Can you provide us DDL+DML (only relevant tables) and the query script and your execution plan on both servers. In some cases small change in the query or indexes can fix this behavior (by
the way in 2014 there is New and Improved Cardinality Estimator).
When you said "the plan is correct" is that mean the execution plan is the same?
wrong estimated number of rows might change the execution plan.

Grand total showing wrong results

Hello,
I am having one prblem,using obiee 11g.
Have a pivot table with 3 columns, one is month and other are showing numbers.
For month we show the 2 number columns
when i click grand total its showing the wrong total for the second number column.
I really don't understand why its happening?

Set Aggregation Rule as Server Complex Aggregate may solve your problem, ie goto
Column -> Edit Formula -> Aggregation Rule -> Server Complex Aggregate

Number of rows in a report, can it only bee set at creation time?

I'm unable to change how pagiation work for a report. If I create a report with the default setting, it will show 15 rows as expected. However if I edit the page, go into the report and change the "Number of Rows" it seems to have no effect. I set it to 999 but the report still only shows the first 15 rows. If I delete the report, recreate it and select 999 as the number of rows when I create the report it works perfect. Looking at the edit page the only change I can see is that "Number of Rows" now is set to 999. How come it has no effect when I do it after creation time?
Is this a bug? Or am I doing this the wrong way? Is there another workaround than recreating the report.

I faced the same issue couple of times before. I changed the number of rows to show but even then it showed 15 rows. I refreshed the report, but no change. Then I logged out and closed the browser, re-opened it and ran the report again, now it showed correct number of rows. But I never needed to recreate a report for this reason.

Hi, In obiee 11g, the pagination will be 1-25. Is there any possiblity in obiee to show the total rows count next to pagination. Ex: if the result contains 120 rows. it should display after the pagination

Showing Zero Unit Price/Row Total

Hi,
We currently allow posting rows for item sales with zero unit price. I am having trouble showing the unit price and row total as "$0.00" instead of a blank field with PLD. Both of these fields are system variables (80 and 84), neither field is linked to itself, and neither field has the 'Suppress zeros' box checked. Any possible solution to this? Thank you.

Hi there,
You could try using a formula type field and multiplying your system variable field by 1.
- Say for example your Unit Price field has a Unique ID of F_100.
- Create a new line Formula field and set its value to Round(F_100*1,2).
- This will display your zero value unit price as 0.00.
- Note that I'm only using Round() to display zeros after the decimal place, otherwise the zero value unit price would appear as 0. So change the number of decimals as required.
- Unfortunately this removes the currency code display from the value so you will need to re-display it if required, you can do this using a database type field and selecting the Price Currency field.
Do the same for row total. Hope that helps.

FBL5N t code and BSEG table is showing wrong contract number

The proces flow is contract number>sales order>DMR-->Invoice
Now when I am checking the VBFA table it's showing correct contract number against invoices but FBL5N t code and BSEG table are showing wrong contract numbers.
Why FBL5N and BSEG table is showing wrong contract number?
Currently we are using one enhancement and user exit is used to incorporate one customized field as identifier for bill type.
1. During the billing document release to accounting VFX3, The user exit triggering and it is update the customized fields and Net settlement indicator.
2. Using the Invoice number, get the fields VGBEL(Document number of the reference document) and VGPOS (Item number of the reference item) from VBRP and read table VBAP with VBELN and POSNR, to get DMR number (Sales Document) that created for the Invoice.
3. Use fields VGBEL and VGPOS on table VBAP to get the sale order number.
4. By using the Sales order number, get the Distribution channel to update Net indicator field
In accounting table BSEG-UZAWE = JF must be updated on the customer line.
5. Retrieve the sale order number and item level to get customized field from table VBAP
Any pointers.

Now in we have enhanced this user exit for contracts and included in this way.

Endloop.
*Moving the values to final accounting table
loop at xaccit.
xaccit-vertn = lc_contract.

xaccit-xref3 = lc_vbel2.
MODIFY xaccit .
ENDLOOP.
Clear: lc_contract,lc_vgbel,lc_vgpos,lc_vbel2.
But I am getting correct data when checked other clients( development and quality), this problem I am getting in production.
Do I need to ask the ABAP'er to debug this enhancement in production?

After scrolling number of rows must not be changed.

I don't understand the question.
The number of visible rows is dependent on the size of the scroll pane.
Scrolling does not change the number of rows that are visible.

Create an application item. APP_HOME_COUNT.
Create an application process:
make the application process type "on new instance" if you only want this to run once
make it "on load before header" if you want to have the value set every page load
application process source:
select count(*) into APP_HOME_COUNT from <your table>
modify the tab name to reference the app item, maybe something like "Count(&APP_HOME_COUNT.)"
result should look like this "Count(5)"

I'd come back to a question of "why". What possible reason could you have to want to know the number of rows in every table in the database?
This seems like it is a request from someone non-technical where they're not sure exactly what they need to ask to get the information they want. I'm forseeing something along the lines of
User: How many rows are in the database
DBA: Ummm.... <<goes off and spends a lot of resources to count>>> ... 1 billion.
User: Wow, that's a lot... How big are those rows...
DBA: Hmmm... <<goes off and spends more time trying to find an average row size>>... 100 bytes
User: <<Plugs numbers into Excel>>... OK, our database is 93 GB, so we need to order 100 GB of disk for our new environment.
DBA: <<Months later, after 100 GB of disk has been budgeted, purchased, and delivered>> User, you didn't order enough disk for our disaster recovery environment.
User: You said our database was only 93 GB!!
DBA: 93 GB of data. Plus 100 GB of indexes, TEMP, UNDO, space for archived logs, ...
When "odd" requests come down, it's generally the case that the person asking the question doesn't know what question they really want to ask because they don't have the domain knowledge to know how to ask the question. Walking over and asking them what they're hoping to accomplish/ what they're using the data for generally leads to a case where
- The user gets exactly the information they need, not the information they think they want
- The DBA does a lot less work, since the right question is almost always easier to answer
- The user thinks of the DBA as a really helpful sort of guy and remembers how helpful you were in the past when you have to push back on other things later
- No one ends up playing the blame game when the user gets just what they asked for and not what they want.

Hi,
You could use UDF for header level and assigned query formatted search to the udf so that the value in the udf is automatically entered.
You could also use SDK code to display LC total of document beside FC total document. The same solution is applicable for row level of document.

Is there anyway of getting the total number of rows in the database via JDBC on a MySQL database?

thanks guys for your help but since my returned result set is huge anything that has to load the whole result set in memory is absolutely out of the question.
For my situation what DrClap suggested works wonders. I use
SELECT COUNT(*) FROM SomeTable
and then
count = rs.getInt(1);
This way I get the total number of rows plus its really quick.

COUNT(*) OVER ()the above one your are counting the number of records, with respect to logical parition window -as if you specify with it the over clause. it won't provide the information as required, with respect to the your first post.
