ESS BP - Leave Request

Hi all,
I was trying to make some small changes in the leave request application when i got stuck up in an issue. In the Leave Request, underneath the Roadmap, there is an option to "Show time accounts". I just want to change its text to "Show ******". How can i achieve this?

Can you please share your work with me,means can you guide me how to add new fields in leave request application.I think we should add new fields in VcFormEdit component --> EditView .

I have already checked all the confugurations steps in PTARQ, this navigates us to the path below as you mentioned
ESS -> Service Specific Settings -> Working Time -> Leave Request -> Processing process-> specify processing process for types of leave
in that Process request using workflow
1)WF ID of New Request
2)WF ID of Cancellation Request
3)WF ID of Change Request
The value assigned
1)New Request: 12300111
2)Cancellation Request:01000109 <> 1000109(one more thing i found whenever i give entry 01000109 for cancel the value is saved as 1000109. )
New Request working fine using ws12300111.

Cancellation of leave which is not approved also working fine using ws12300111.

ESS/MSS Leave Request Issue

Hello All Experts
We have implemented ESS/MSS. Everything is working fine except the Leave Request approval. The approval request comes to the approver's inbox.When we try to open the approval request, the webdynpro application is getting but there is no data in the same. I mean the webdynpro application which is launched is blank.
Could anyone please try to help me how to make this webdynpro application up and running ?
We are using EP 7.0 with ECC 5.0

I navigated to System Administration --> System Configuration --> Detailed Navigation --> Universal Worklist Workflow à Universal Worklist - Administration
I get a list of
Universal Worklist Systems
System Alias       Connector Type                       Action            Activate
AdHocSystem |   AdHocWorkflowConnector |                        | Deactivate
SAP_ITS_XSS |   WebFlowConnector           |   Re-Register    | Deactivate
ActionInbox     |   ActionInboxConnector        |                        | Deactivate
When I click on Re-Register button under Action, I get the following message
Item type registration was successful for the following systems:
- SAP_ITS_XSS (WebFlowConnector)
I have also cleared the cache by navigating to Cache Administration Page
Still the issue remains.

ESS/MSS Leave Request

I am working ESS/MSS, we are deployed all the Business packages in the portal and once we open Leave request application
"There are no Customizing settings for absence type"
The above Error displayed,is there any configuration is required for R/3. if yes, can any one please help me

Hi,
Have you configured the basic settings in TM like Absences, Attendances, AQ types. To achieve the absence types in ESS, you need to configure the absence types in R/3.

Error in ESS Szenario leave request after rejecting leave

Hi folks,
we getting an error in the ESS leave request application with using the workflow (WS12300111).
We have EP7 SP11 wit ESS/MSS 600 SP7 (for ERP2005) . All ESS/MSS services/webdynpros are deployed without errors.
If an employee takes holiday with the leave request and the manager rejects this leave request, a work item is created in the UWL box of the employee. Processing this work item leads to the following error:
Application error occurred during request processing. Details:
com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.sal.core.DispatcherException: The requested deployable object 'com.sap/ess~lea' and application 'LeaveRequest' are not deployed on the server. Please check the used URL for typos.
Exception id: [C0000A7D0192002A0000000400000B7E000431AA883F1DCE]
But the application is ready deployed (the employee take this appl- to create the leave request
In the ERp2005 / HCM customizing, transaction SWFVISU the approval task TS12300097 uses application "LeaveRequestApprover" is working fine.
TS12300116 uses application "LeaveRequest" leads to this error... :-(((
Does any body have an Idea ??

yes something like that - we solved this with a tipp from OSS/ SAP..
Using transaction SWFVISU, check the following entries and correct
these
where required:
TS12300097 Java WebDynpro
APPLICATION LeaveRequestApprover
---> CHECK THESE PACKAGE sap.com/ess~lea
TS12300116 Java WebDynpro
APPLICATION LeaveRequest
>CHECK THESE PACKAGE sap.com/ess~lea
The WF item who was running o.k. (check leave request) had the wrong entries :
TS12300097 Java WebDynpro
APPLICATION LeaveRequestApprover
---> CHECK THESE PACKAGE sap.com/ess~lea -> was com.sap ...
After changing this to sap.com -> the other service who had the error
runs now O.K. !! This problem was only on the EP7 system SP12 and
ESS/MSS SP8..other Portal system with NW7SP11 ESS/MSS SP6 had this
error not...

ESS LEA: Leave request, RPTARQPOST

Hi,
I read on some forum posts that the program (SE38) - RPTARQPOST has to be scheduled in order to update the status of leave requests and post to PA2001 after they have been approved.
I have not scheduled it, but in our system, when manager approves a leave request, it gets updated in PA2001 (PA30). I understand from our workflow consultant that table prarq_header is being updated with the status (sent, approved, rejected) through a step in the workflow.
Wondering if it is still necessary to schedule RPTARQPOST
Appreciate any advice.

Honestly speaking, I at my place have scheduled PTARQ for all the activities to be done. But you have done it through workflow. May be its a different way of doing. Really not able to say whether right or wrong.May be the Workflow consultant at your place is the right person to judge

ESS: UWL Leave request issue

Hi folks,
We are on EP 7.0 SP13 wit ESS/MSS 600 SP11 (for ERP2005) .
We configured ESS Leave request and facing the below issue.
When an employee takes leave with the leave request application and the manager rejects/approves this leave request,
a work item is send in the UWL Inbox of the employee. Processing this work item leads to the following error:

I've checked the SWFVISU transaction and changed the package name of workflow task 'TS12300116' to 'sap.com/esslea', initially, it was 'com.sap/esslea'. Though i make this change and re-register the UWL system, i still get the error when opening the task from UWL Inbox
All ESS/MSS services/webdynpros are deployed without errors.
Does any body have an Idea ??

Hi Karthik,
The error is because in SWFVISU transaction, where the Workflow task is linked with the Leave request approver application ,the package name is wrong.
The task for approval process is TS12300097.
In SWFVISU,
Application name is : LeaveRequestApprover
Package : com.sap/ess~lea
If you notice,the package name mentioned here would be com.sap.xss.hr.lea.appl. Please correct it to com.sap/ess~lea.

Any ESS Multilevel Leave Request

I am working on Multilevel ESS Leave Request Workflow. Is there any standard workflow for multilevel approvals. I know the standard workflow WS12300111 but its only one level approval. I want to have multilevel approval.

I have developed multilevel leave request workflow. Am facing the problem in dynpro screen. As am using standared task TS12300097 used for approval. when i used this task the 1st approver get's the workitem in portal. After approval the workitem is moviing to the second approver. but when i come and check in the 1st approver's UML i can find the approved list in the dash board am again able to approve the leave. Is this a bug in standard screen?. Do we need to go for new customized dynpro screen development?.

Display more columns in ESS "Time Accounts" table in "Leave Request"

Hi all,
does anybody know how to configure the display of columns in the "Time Accounts" table in the ESS-WebDynpro "Leave Request" ? I currently see
Time Account / Deductible to / Entitlement / Remainder
We would like to include other columns and can't find to manage this in the WebDynpro ess~lea (we're using EP6, SAP_ESS 100 SP19) - all 12 existing columns are already set to "visible" in AccListView. In implementation of method format() in FccAccList all values are assigned, but the columns get not displayed...
Please could you advise, where and how this can be customized?
Is it to customize in backend or WebDynpro or ??

ESS Leave Request Workflow Issue

Hi Every one,
Our client is using ESS/Portal Leave Request workflow(ZWorkflow template which is configured to the portal) which is working fine up to the last month.Recently i developed 3 level Escalation functionaly which is working fine and we tested and finally transported to production in the last month .And recently i got an issue when the leave request is aproved after escallation is not setting the workflow status completed and keep on escalating to the next levels.
Note:When the 1st manager approves the leave request without escallation the workflow status is going to be completed which is fine and only there is an issue when escallated and approved the status of that specific leave request is approved but the workflow is not going to the status completed and keep on escalating to the next levels.
i checked the log and found there is condition based wait event step which have a condition when
Req.status = Approved&
Req.status = Withdrawn&
Req.status = Error.
must raise the event and complete the workflow only working fine when the escalation does'nt takes place and the direct manager reacted without escalating to another manager.
Please help e what might be the problem is.

ESS Leave Request - creating a Leave Request for another employee

Hi,
We're working on ECC6 + EP7 + ESS/MSS Leave Request scenario
and we've a problem about "substitution". Not the substitution for dealing with somebody else workitems in UWL, but "substitution" for "acting" like somebody else.
We want to authorize an assistant to enter a leave request in place of an other employee.
as if this assistant were connected in ESS/LaavRequest with the user of the employee.
To explain, in 46c/ITS620, our scenario was the following :
- We modified the SAP standard internet service Leave Request to add a combo box, so when the assistant connected to the ITS page with her user, she had a list of all employees.
- we modified the SAP standard to change the variables containing the connected user information, so the creation of an absence request was made for the user selected in the list.
We want to keep this possibility in the new ESS.
Any idea if something exists in the SAP standard ?

This scenario is not available in ESS, ie This kind of functionality is not available from ESS
But you can achieve it using your added link In MSS > General information
there you have many services for individual employees

ESS Leave Request - Custom validations

Hello all,
As I understand SAP does not perform any custom validations (which we might have coded within the PBAS0001 enhancement OR the HRPAD00INFTY business add in) when requesting a absence from ESS~LEA leave request iView from the portal.
Hence to validate the absence record, I attempted to insert the HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION function module and run it in CHK operation mode to validate the data in the PT_GEN_REQ~START_WF business add in method.
If the validation fails I return RETURN_CODE as non-zero from the business addin. However I keep getting a dump as a result.
Can anyone advice if this has been tried successfully and any alternate if @ all?

Leave Request Task TS12300097: Status is not changed

For the ESS version Leave Request, we are using a copy of standard workflow WS12300111.
When applying leave, the workflow template is triggered and processed to task TS12300097. In this task, we use customized rule to find agent.
In Universal Worklist, we can do the approval process and after approved, the leave requests status is changed. But the problem is the approval task is still in the UWL, status is still new and the workflow template gets stuck at this step.
The description of TS12300097 said: Once you have processed the request, the work item will automatically be set to "completed." automatically be set to "completed."
And we can not find out why our leave request is not behave like that. Please kindly advise the possible reason.

UWL do not refresh correctly when leave request change status

I implemented the standar workflow of "Leave Request"(succesfuly), and the leave request appareced in UWL in MSS, I approved the leave request, but Leave Request is not change the status. But The employee of the leave request watch the new "status" with approved in the ESS option (Leave Request).
I refresh the UWL but Leave request stills appears with status "new", I clicked in the Leave Request (it had already approved in the previous step) and the new window open with error "index 0,0".
My questions are:
1. How I can refresh my UWL? and that I displayed the request approved
2. Why not change your status to approve the leave, if I do not get any error?

implement the note 1501377 which was created to clear the leave request workitems
ensure it is done
and then following settings, In SWU3 schedule background jobs
in uwl administration you can set these
Default Execution Mode: Optimistic
Webflow User Format: Full Name
Default Cache Validity Period, in Minutes: 2
Maximum Number of Threads Created in the Thread Pool: 10
Timeout Value for the Connected Systems, in Seconds: 60
Please check how frequent you refresh your cache
1.,,Open task in the same window in the portal - rather than opening in
a new window when approving and rejecting tasks. This is so that the
actions will be controlled through the UWL UI rather than an external
window.
2.You can configure an additional column on the UWL UI called
isLaunched to mark an item that were already executed and may have been
completed already. This is very similar to the marked as read
functionality contained in an email client. If a user opens a task the
item will be marked as launched. If refresh happens either manually or
automatically then the workitem may be completed (marked as launched)
and disappears from the inbox. If it has been opened but not completed
the launched icon disappears.
3. Is Delta Pull enabled in your system?
Steps to clear the UWL cache
please go to "System Administration" "System Configuration" ->
-> Universal Work list & Workflow
-> Universal Workflow Administration
-> Click on cache administration page
-> Click "Clear Cache" button.

ESS Leave Request error - Processing of the service was terminated.

Dear All,
I am getting the below error on the leave request page in ESS
A critical error has occured. Processing of the service was terminated. Unsaved data has been lost.
Contact your system administrator.
Index: 0, Size: 0
java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException: Index: 0, Size: 0
