ESSO - LM: Administrative overrides

Hi,
I'm deploying eSSO - LM and can't get the administrative overrides to get synchronized from AD. The application templates do get downloaded, but the overrides don't. A trace of the LM Agent shows that it reads a SyncState, then some mysterious hash-named object from the user, then fails to create something because it already exists, a while later it fails to read several objects, and finally it again gives an "object already exists" error. Any ideas? The overrides are in the SSOConfig container, and they are never mentioned in the logs.
Thanks,
Juan

two options...
1 - go to global agent settings ->live->enduser exeperience->response
Select Display "Add another logon" checkbox
This will enable a checkbox for when the user 1st enrolls the u/p to fill in a 2nd or 3rd credential
OR
2 go to logon manager (the wallet or whatever you call it ) copy the existing credential then change the 2nd credential to what you want.
when you go to that site you will get a chooser on which one to use

  • Esso-LM (Administrative Console)

    Hi Experts!
I Have a problem with ESSO-LM Agent, isn´t loading applications of Repository (Active Directory)
In my version of ESSO-LM (11.1.1.5) I verified that when right-click in Global Agent Setting - > Import -> From Live HKLM (This option is disabled)
    This affects anything?
    And . . .
    In the Administrative Console:
    Global Agent Setting -> Live -> Synchronization->ADEXT (I Don´t have this option)
I Have Global Agent Setting -> Live -> Synchronization-> (AD symbol + IP address Server)
    Synchronization: AD 192.168.201.3
    -Data Storage Configuration
    Connection information
    User interface
    Credential Sharing
My problems are related with this ?
    Best Regards

I'm experiencing the same. ESSO Version is: "ESSO-LM Administrative Console Version 11.1.120 (Build 2010.10.28)"
I can't provide user credentials. What could be wrong?

  • Oracle ESSO: Using Oracle Database as repository.

    Hello.
I have some problems with deploying Oracle Enterprise Single Sing-On with Oracle Database as repository. First of all I want to know is there some documentation on "how to" or "best practices" for this kind of deploying?
    And here is my problem:
I have installed Oracle Database 11g Release 2 on Windows Server 2008 R2. Added my domain admin account to External OS Users with DBA role.
After that I have installed Oracle Client 11g Release 2 and Oracle ESSO-LM Administrative Console (11.1.1.5.1) on Windows 7 machine. Extended Oracle DB schema.
In DB was added new schema "OPS$<mydomain>\<admin_account>" with 2 tables "SSO_ADMIN" and "SSO_USERS".
But when I try to connect to this repository using ESSO Administrative Console, I am getting the error "Connection Error. Specified cast is not valid."
And now I have no idea what should I do with this. Searching on this forum and the internet doesn't give any solutions.
    Does anyone have any thoughts?
    Thank you.

I'm going to guess that you have a good reason for wanting to use MS-Access as the back-end database, but why use Forms as the front-end? Why not just use Access's UI?
Now to your question. You can connect to MS-Access using ODBC. Here is a [link to a good discussion|http://forums.oracle.com/forums/click.jspa?searchID=-1&messageID=3763074] on using ODBC. Hope this helps.

  • ESSO LM Agent Capturing application credential problem

    Hi all,
In my test environment Am having the following
    Oracle ESSO Logon Manager
    ESSO-LM Administrative Console Version 11.1.1.5.1
IN Active Directory having two Organizational Units(OU) says
    ESS , IMS
In both OU's am having 2 users.
    In ESS says <font color="red">essuser01, essuser02</font>
    and in IMS says <font color="red">imsuser01, imsuser02</font>
    Domain Name : example.com
I have installed Admin Console in Windows 7 pro.
and LM Agent have been installed in another system also having Win 7.
In Left pane of my Admin console
    Under
Global Agent Settings > Live > Synchronization > ADEXT
Base Location for Configuration Objects sets to
    <font color="red"><li>OU=ims,DC=example,DC=com</li></font>
    <font color="red"><li>OU=ess,DC=example,DC=com</li></font>
Location for storing user credentials sets to
    Under respective directory user objects
    Having Applications
ESS_yahoo - For yahoo mail login
    IMS_Gmail - For Gmail login
Have published ESS_Yahoo(Application) and Live(Global Agent Settings) to target repository
    OU=ess,DC=example,DC=com[example.com]
    Similarly,
IMS_Gmail(Application) and Live(Global Agent Settings) to target repository
OU=ims,DC=example,DC=com[example.com]Problem is while login as IMS or ESS users LM Agent is capturing both applications.
    Even I set
Global Agent Settings > Live > User Experience > Application Response > Initial credential Capture > Limit response to predefined applications for
All application Types & Web Applications set to
    <font color="blue">Predefined applications only</font>My need:
For ESS users Agent must capture only Yahoo credentials,
same as IMS user it must capture only Gmail not yahoo.
What i have to do. Am newbie to ESSO.
    Response will be appreciated.
    Bala:)

    A few key element :
In the admin console : Navigate to Global Agent Settings -> Live -> Synchronization
    Disable role/group security support.
Note : Database Synchronization will not work with this option enabled
    Then :
Navigate to Global Agent Settings -> Live ->
    Synchronization->DBEXT ->Required
Specify the database servers with one of the following values:
    Provider=OraOLEDB.Oracle;Data Source=orcl;Extended
    Properties='OSAuthent=1';
    Provider=OraOLEDB.Oracle;Data Source=orcl;User
    Id=SYSTEM;Password=Manager1;
    orcl
Then : Navigate to Global Agent Settings-> Live -> Synchronization
-> DBEXT -> Advanced and enable Append Domain when naming objects
To connect to the DB to distribute Application Use :
    Connection String : Provider=OraOLEDB.Oracle;Data
    Source=orcl;User Id=SYSTEM;Password=Password1;
    Repository Type : Generic Database
Then you can deploy application the the DB, using the configure SSO support....
    Good luck

  • Bug in FirewallTool

If I choose to set up my own ipfw filters and have the Apple "firewall" turned off, and enable ipfw logging by setting net.inet.ip.fw.verbose to "1" in /etc/sysctl.conf, the parameter will be correctly set from /etc/rc during startup, but /usr/libexec/FirewallTool will shortly afterwards reset it to 0, even though it should do nothing at all when the Apple firewall is turned off.
The error is in FirewallTool.c, the function SetFirewallRules(), in the 'else' block after "if ( stateRef == kCFBooleanTrue )" - around line 789 in FirewallTool.c from FirewallTool-18.
The else block should not affect system parameters unless the program is in charge of the subsystem.
I have tried to submit this bug report to Apple but with no result.

1.) Im unsure why youre posting this here as we are powerless to do anything about it. But it seems yu know how to fix it so dig in recompile and let us know how it goes
2.) This isnt a bug i dont think. Alot of the GUI apps for administration override the *nix configs like it or not. I know this has been a big pain on OSX server with people trying to run customized Apache, PHP, etc.. I agree this isnt desireable but i dont think its a bug in that its not meant to preserve these settings from the get go but rather to only respect settings set through the GUI.

  • Uninstall Bridge CS5.1 or Photoshop CS5 w Bridge in Windows

How can I uninstall Bridge CS5.1?  I have tried to uninstall it everyway I know and all I get are error messanges stating that I cannot uninstall bridge or Photoshop CS5 because I get the error message that the file is open in another application and so cannot be deleted!  I closed everything and still cannot delete or uninstall either program.  I have tried renaming it etc....  I have even tried using administrator override and still cannot delete it. Any help would be appreciated.

That is absolutely NOT the case.  All Adobe upgrades are FULL INSTALLERS.  They will always install the full version without regard to any previous version(s) you may or may not have on your disk.  They do not build on older components, they install the entire new version from scratch.  They leave older versions completely untouched.
The only thing they do in regards to an older version—whether that older version is activated or not—is to read the older serial number.  If they find no prior versions on disk, they will simply prompt you for the old serial number as well as the nwew one.

You cannot override but you can chage it, the approach depends on the Mac OS X you are using.

Buying used Macs can be tricky and what seems like a bargain can really turn in to a  problem. I noticed you are running 10.7.3 (Lion), if the machine originally shipped with Snow Leopard or earlier you have an illegal license of Lion. The seller should have provided all the media including any applications he purchased. If he did not you should contact the seller and request the media otherwise you have stollen applications. In addition Lion (per the SLA) cannot be transferred because it is tied to the original ower's AppleID. However if you have a mid 2011 iMac that originally shipped with Lion then you are fine.
However if all you want to do is change the password then please read:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1274  will show you how.

  • Oracle eSSO - File System Synchronization

I'm having a lot of trouble just setting up a simple file system synchronization for Oracle Enterprise Single Sign-On v10.1.0.2 or v10.1.0.4 (I've tried both). I've tried it many ways, but the agent never seems to be visible to the admin console. Here is the simplest example:
On a single test machine, install the Admin Console. Use the Admin Console to create a new set of Global Agent Settings. Leave everything to default except under Synchronization, click Manage Synchronizers. Create a new synchronizer with synch type 'File System'. Go to the Required subkey and enter a network share under 'Server'. In this example, I created a share on the same local machine. The share gives 'Full Control' to 'Everyone' and 'Domain Users' groups. Save these settings in the Admin Console. Then Go to Tools > Generate Customized MSI in the Admin Console, exporting the newly created Global Agent Settings to the customized agent installer MSI. Then on the same test machine, install the agent by using the customized MSI. During the agent installation, choose 'Custom' and enable installation of Extensions > Synchronization Manager and File System synchronization type.
So, that's what I've done. When I then go back to the Admin Console and connect to the repository (the share setup on the local machine) and select 'Configure SSO Support', the result is that it creates a folder called 'People' and two override objects: ENTLIST and ADMINOVERRIDE. That's it. No matter how many or where I install agents on this computer or elsewhere on the network 1) the admin console does not seem to see them 2) the ENTLIST of customized applications never gets pushed to the agents. In fact the ENTLIST shown in the Repository within the Admin Console does not seem to update when the apps list in the admin console is updated (even if I press 'Refresh' in the repository).
Can anyone help? Is it something silly like the order in which I've done things, or did I miss a step somewhere?

    Hi,
I have the same problem, but I use an Active Directory in the basckend :o(
I'm able to configure the admin console (connection to AD, create a global agent for my AD server). When I install the ESSO-Agent on the same machine (where the administrative console is already installed)...it's quite easy because the following "option" is available : "Export Apps to Agent"!!! Using this, there is no problem.
On the other hand, when I install the ESSO-Agent on the user's workstation...it's really an other story :o( For the monent, I'm not able to get the credentials (pre-configured applications) from Active Directory. I think that the (Global Agent) settings have been successfully pushed into AD, but I'm not able to get them from the user's workstation.
What are the steps to realize this operation (get the pre-configured applications from AD)?
I always get a connection window which requires the following three parameters: username, password and user path.
Because AD is my backend server, I thought that the following "values" were correct...., but that's not the case, and I'm sure that I'm not connected to AD:
    username: cn=toto toto,cn=users,dc=name,dc=com
    password: mypwd
    user path: dc=name,dc=com
I hope that you have resolved your problem, and that someone could help me :o)
    Thanks a lot.

Hi, thanks for your response.  Yep certificate issue i've resolved - the serial number was also wiped.  I've reinstated the serial as per back our macbook, and things are looking much better.  However, it's still not right.  For example I can not see or connect to the MacBook from iPhone over Bluetooth.  Macbook sees the iPhone, but not the other way (even though discovery is turned on).  Attempt to connect doesn't work.   PAN is enabled.  There's also a flood of these in the logs:

  • How to Separate Management Servers for Ease of Administration?

    Hello,
I am fairly new to SCOM, though have been charged with creating a monitoring solution for a particular group of customers and integrating it as far as possible into our existing corporate SCOM implementation, so any help, tips and so on would be greatly
    appreciated.
The customer monitoring requirements will be very different to those of our fairly standard corporate environment - we will need to monitor very different technologies, with some systems sat in different domains or a DMZ. Our central servicedesk will still
need to monitor and action alerts and events for both environments as seamlessly as possible.
At the same time, I would like to separate the environments as the configuration of the management servers for the customer environment will be quite different from our corporate one, and I want to avoid having to make changes to all our corporate servers
every time I need to change something on the customer environment - so things like management pack installs, certificate admin, static DNS config and so on.
How would I go about this please? Would it be better to create a separate management group, with servers dedicated to the customer environment, then connect this to the corporate management group so that the servicedesk can still monitor it, or is there
another way of doing it? Perhaps using resource pools? Time will be a factor here, though ultimately the goal is ease of administration going forward.
    Thanks

Using resource pools will not allow you to separate configuration such as MP installs, security, etc. as they are all part of the same management group.  From Technet, "A resource pool is a collection of management servers used to distribute
work amongst themselves and take over work from a failed member."  If configuration needs to be completely separate from the base configuration perspective, you could use separate connected management groups.
Another option is to separate the configuration within the management group.  For example, if you need to monitor SQL computers in your corp environment but not the customer environment, simply create a group containing customer computers and override
the SQL discovery.  This applies to other technologies as well.  You can even group computers by environment (corp/customer) by using reg key attributes like Kevin Holman describes here: (While my account is being verified
I can't post links but you can search "Creating custom dynamic computer groups based on registry keys on agents").  If you are familiar with MP authoring, you could create a new MP with a new Windows Computer based class instead of extending
the Windows Computer class.  From a capabilities perspective, you can certainly monitor corporate, customer, DMZ, and other domains in the same management group.  If the domain is untrusted or in the case of the DMZ, workgroups computers, you can
utilize gateway servers with certificate authentication which will be configured for each domain/dmz gateway.
Ease of administration is a tricky concept here...if you utilize separate management groups, administration will have to be handled completely separate in 2 separate consoles.  If there are separate SCOM admins per management group, this is
of no issue, but if 1 team/person is managing both, this can be difficult.  Alternatively, there will be some up front work to using groups to separate the environments using groups, discoveries, etc.

  • Wy douse the bridge override time to live for individual jms-messages?

Hi, we have a problem with time to live for individual jms-messages.
We have a JMS-bridge (ASYNC) between two wls, one application publish a jms masseage on a jms queue with the QueueSender. When the message i sent we set the time to live for the jms-message.
The bridge then transport the jms message from one wls to the an other. When the message i received on the subscriper side the message time to live is no longer set to the value we specified, the value is now overrided with the default time to live value set on the source ConnectionFactor.
How do prevent the override of the time to live value.
              Regards
              /Johan

    Hi,
If the target destination is WL 9.0 or higher you can configure the bridge to preserve message properties -- the MBean attribute name is "PreserveMsgProperty".
Alternatively, if source and target destination are WL 9.0 or higher, you can configure WebLogic store-and-forward instead of a bridge.
Finally, if the expiration time is always the same relative to the current time at the point when the bridge forwards the message, you can administratively configure the target destination with a "TimeToLiveOverride" (via the destination configuration itself - not the bridge configuration).

  • Management Server Global Settings Override Being Ignored

I have a SCOM 2012 Gateway server with a bunch of machines in an untrusted domain reporting back to it.
These systems aren't too critical, so I wanted to adjust the number of missed heartbeats for them.  On the Gateway server in the Administration/Management Servers page, I've checked "Override global Management Server settings" and adjusted
the number of missed heartbeats to 10.
The problem that I have is that in testing this setting appears to be ignored.  On one of the managed servers I can stop the Health Service and wait, like before, after ~4 minutes I get the Health Service Heartbeat failure alert.  Has anyone else
    encountered this issue?

First, Check the override setting in MT_Microsoft$SystemCenter$ManagementServertable, make sure the setting has been updated in Database. If it does, please restart the health State service on Gateway server.
Another thing we need to check is the Heartbeat Interval, the default interval is 50 Secs.

  • Administration port - network channel for admin traffic

I am trying to configure a separate channel for Administration traffic on weblogic. I followed the oracle docos and configured the SSL, domain wide admin port, server listen address, ‘admin’ channel.
The issue is admin traffic in not happening through the newly created channel.
L2 network is not getting used. I can’t see any activity in the monitoring tab of new Channel. Also the netstat is showing that the port 9101/9102 is getting used on the 192.168.100.218 and not on 10.254.252.849.
I also tried by setting up the newly created channel weight as 51, but no luck.
Is JMX connectivity related to admin channel?
Any help is highly appreciated. Thanks.

I am wondering if the JMX connectivity is using the server listen address (adminserver701.mycompany.internal) which will by default resolve to 192.168.100.238. Is there a way to force JMX to use 10.254.252.808?

    Hi
For first question the answer is no. With the administration port, you enable the SSL between the admin server and Node manager-managed Servers. You can still use the web console.
For teh second question, you can use ANT or can use the WLS Scripting ..you can get more details in dev2dev.bea.com
