Every e-mail I get comes with a duplicate. I've tried looking at the different features of the program, but I can't figure out why this is happening. Help!
This has been happening for several years now. After one of the updates, I started getting the duplicates. I've lived with problem for a long time because I could still get e-mails, if over abundantly. My e-mail volume has gone up and up, however, and I'm now getting 60 or 70 e-mails a day because of this problem. Can someone tell me how to fix this?
I think I might have figured out what the problem is. I have inadvertently set up two Thunderbird accounts. When I followed your advice, I was able to open the pop folder. I also had a mail folder and opened it to find another pop folder. In both pop folders I found a popstate.dat file. When I went into account settings, I found that I had somehow set up two cbldw accounts. The one at the top said mail as incoming server. The second account showed pop as the incoming server. Now this is what perplexes me. Do I attempt to get rid of one of the accounts? I took both popstate.dat files out of the folders and put them on my desktop. When I went back into the two mail folders, behold, the popstate. dat files were still in the folder, having been altered at the time I took them out of the folders.
I'm really in a quandary as to how to proceed. I'm not sure I can delete the second Thunderbird account without wrecking havoc on my primary e-mail source, and there are a few subtle differences in the two different preferences sections.
Any helpful suggestions?

My iPad says it has to restore to update, but it will not. It is caught in a cycle of not being able to restore but needed to restore. I keep getting error code 3014 but I can not figure out what this means! nor can I do anything about it! So Frutrated!

Everytime I open my messages App on my MBP and click on a chat, the entire history clears and the chat moves to the bottom. It does it everyday for every user I click on and I checked my preferences and can't find anything that would cause that. It is really annoying because I have no record of the chat I had.

I didn't specifically ask if you had changed Fonts.
I did ask you to check them using the Font Book
Open Font Book find the Font you are using and then use the Validate from the File Menu.
As you implied nothing happens until you click a Chat I presumed you have access to the menu items of Messages.
You are Posting in Mountain Lion. The last version here was version 7.0.1 at the OS X 10.8.2 update.
The Latest version is in Mavericks. It is still called version 8 but did have changes at the OS X 10.9.2 update.
If the app has not been updated properly (it will not update if it in not loose in the Application Folder - it can't be somewhere else or inside a "messaging app" folder for instance within Applications) it will not work.
As I have not deliberately or accidentally done this I am not sure of the symptoms.
I need confirmation as to which version of the App you have.
Do you have a Time Machine Back up ?
What would the issue be if you did have to Reinstall the OS to get Messages back to a working version ?

Couple of iPhones and an iPad -
When I import nef files from nikon D600, the pictures look good in the preview, but that's just because the preview is a jpg, generated by the camera. When I select the image, it looks like it is processing something and a totaly different (darker) images is presented in the preview window and the thumbnails. In the adjusment window no adjustments look active/selected.
Is the diference because Aperture cannot proces my Nef files the right way or are there some default adjustments selected in Aperture, somewhere that I'm not aware of? Maybe some default import setup...?
I use the latest updated version of Aperture, I'm new to aperture and understand the concept but am not familiar with all the tools.

Are you per chance using the in-camera setting for D-Lighting? If so, this is a Nikon proprietary use where the camera intentionally underexposes the image, then applies in-camera processing to bring it back to normal exposure that offers a slightly enhanced dynamic range. Unfortunately, Nikon does not share how this is done and it can only be rendered by their own software options.
Aperture, or any other third party RAW image processor, can't easily match these proprietary processes in any exact fashion ... they have to develop their own ... not just for one camera or one brand ... but all those they support ... even if they would try to match these in-camera settings ... the likelihood that they would satisfy more than a small batch of users is quite low ... tone and color results are purely subjective so finding a match that would please everyone is almost impossible.
This is why if you plan on using a third party RAW processor like Aperture, it is best to avoid using the in-camera processing settings. Rather you should create your own presets within Aperture to achieve your goals. In this instance, it is better to allow your chosen RAW processor to do the work, rather than the camera do the processing.
The reason you see the change in the image as Aperture loads it, you initially see the embedded jpeg preview from the NEF file. Then Aperture creates a new more accurate view based upon Aperture's RAW processing engine.

Several times I've downloaded an album from iTunes to find that not all of the tracks were fully downloaded so that some of the tracks will skip to the next one (instead of finishing the song). Can anyone tell me why this happens and how I can fix it?
If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the tracks and try redownloading fresh copies.
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.
(Not entirely sure what happens after you click that link, but fingers crossed it should be relatively straightforward.) -
For the past 24 hours I haven't been receiving my mail on my iPhone as normally do. I need to find out what the problem is.
Yes, I did try to go on my settings>wifi and was waiting for any wifi signals to pick up, but nothing shows up. But on my PC I get a whole list of networks to choose from. Regarding my neighbor, I already have her password that is why I was able to get it on my PC, the problem is that the mini Ipad is not picking any signal neither can it locate me when I go to maps.

The only way to do so is to start over: Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content & Settings. You won't be able to use the backup of your old phone unless you are setting up a new phone.

Can't figure out why my navbar gets all pixelated online?

I'm designing a floating site. My workflow is PS=====>Fireworks====>Dreamweaver. I made a navbar in FW with a transparent background and exported html to dreamweaver. I inserted the fireworks htm, put it online and it looks terrible. You can see it here:

Don't worry about the portfolio button, I know what's going on there. But I can't figure out why there is "stairstepping" on the logo and on all the navbar buttons. This is the first time I've ever created a floating site. I just put a jpeg for repeat using the dreamweaver css, and then inserted the rest in a table.
Could anyone give me an idea of what I'm doing wrong? Thanks so much.
WilThere's no problem with using PNG8, PNG24, or PNG32, other than the huge
weight of the latter two. But there's no need to go PNG here.
Personnaly I see only advantages in using PNG. The good thing about using PNG for graphics like this is that it does not tie you to a background with a certain color. like a GIF with a colored matte does. Should you wish to change your background color later you can keep on using your menu buttons. There is no need to prepare new graphics for the menu just because you change a background color or image.
As for the "huge" weight of the PNG file, I'd say that depends on your definition of "huge"
If you compare the filesizes of a simple graphic like that, I see no big improvement by using GIF.

Oh no, Robinbird18! This is not what we like to hear about your cell phone. It makes it pretty hard to have a conversation with someone when you can't hear them. If you make a phone call out are you able to have a conversation with someone without any issues? How long has this been going on? I can't sign on to icloud. It says I need an icloud account. I click the help option it send me back to the same page. I reinstall it nothing.
