Everything works fine, my wifi connection but suddenly in upper left corner sign "no service"appeared. But connection works to Internet, anyway. (I changed location recently from USA to Europe.
Corner sign No service appeared. What that's mean? I am connected , recently changed locations.
Do you have a 3G/4g iPad?
I believe the no service warning is the iPad telling you you are not connected to a cell network.
Turn off mobile data.

The best you can do is to get access to the admin setup for networking on a pc? The internet settings are all the same. Only what names the manufactures change from OS to OS. Check and compare parameters.

Hi, I connected to the internet in a different location using ethernet cable and when I got home websites like yahoo wont get to the sign in page and other sites too...weirdly facebook and google works ...please help...tearing my hair out!!!and now, when i tried to check again my network preference below the airport tab is showing a message that
"my airport does not have an IP address and cannot connect to the internet!"
then after seconds it will goes back to the first message that
"airport has the self assigned IP address etc....."

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

Cursor suddenly jumps to upper left corner
I have tried to do a search for this, but most of what I looked at did not seem to fit exactly. I have a desktop iMac G4, the "lamp" style one. Every so often the cursor suddenly jumps up to the upper left corner. I cannot figure out anything I am doing or anything that I might have downloaded that could cause it. It seems to be getting more frequent. I have repaired permissions, run macjanitor.
Does anyone have any suggestions? It is hardly a life or death issue, but it is annoying.

1) Check you mouse connection - unplug/replug. Have you tried using a different USB port to see if you can duplicate the problem? Make sure you don't have fuzz, dust and other assorted ca-ca under the mouse.
2) Check your preferences - System preferences>Keyboard & Mouse. Make adjustments and see if that helps.
3) You might also wish to toss your systempreferences.plist found in your Home>Library>Preferences

I have an iPad2 and I can't delete some apps I was downloading but froze. I can get the apps to wiggle, but there is no X in the upper left corner for deletion. I have tried re-setting and didn't work. Help will be appreciated.
See if anything here helps.
If the downloads are stalled or "waiting" - try these suggestions.
Tap the "waiting" icon and see if you can pause it. If it does pause, then tap it again and see if it will resume. If that works, repeat the same steps for each "waiting" icon.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered.
If all else fails, download the updates or the apps in iTunes on your computer and then sync the content to your iPad. -
New at this this but need help: I can't delete icons from my iPad. They will jiggle but I am not getting an"x" in the upper left corner. I have never had this problem before. Any suggestions how to correct this????
Built in apps can't be deleted.
If it's not the built in apps, then maybe you've enabled restrictions to prevent the deletion of apps. Look in the settings, restrictions and see if you've locked that out -

IPhone connects to secured WiFi network, but can't access Internet
Problem: iPhone connects to my secured home WiFi network, shows WiFi strength bars at top of screen, displays checkmark, lock, power, and blue arrow on WiFi Networks screen; however, cannot access Internet, iTunes store, stocks, Weather or anything else.
Tests I've run:
1. iPhone itself:

IP Address = 192.168.2.102 (within range automatically allocated by LinkSys router--see below)
Subnet Mask = 255.255.255.0 (as per LinkSys router)
Router = 192.168.2.1 (as per LinkSys router)
DNS = 192.168.2.1 (confirmed by Apple as a valid DNS address given the above information)
Tests:
*Forget Network and rejoin--Failed to connect to Internet
*Forget Network, reboot iPhone, and rejoin--Failed to connect to Internet
*Reset Netowrk Settings and rejoin--Failed to connect to Internet
*Reset All Settings and rejoin--Failed to connect to Internet
*Deleted DNS entry--Failed to connect to Internet
*Connect to Apple Store unsecured network--Success

3. Microsoft router MN-500:
Tried this old router (the one I used before purchasing the LinkSys). It is an old (circa 2002) Wireless B base station with WEP Security. The iPhone was never able to connect to the Internet using various settings, many of which were duplicates of the LinkSys tests above.
On both routers my wife's Dell laptop and my HP printer connect without incident, using the same network/security settings.
I have always been able to connect to various unsecured WiFi networks; I have never been able to connect to a secure WiFi network (although the only one I've really tried has been my own).
I am at a loss as to what to do next. Any suggestions?SUCCESS!!!!!
I visited my brother-in-law yesterday and attempted to connect with his secure network. By sheer luck, he is using the exact same model LinkSys router. My iPhone connected first time--so the iPhone was eliminated as a source of the problem.
I didn't do a lot of troubleshooting at his house, but I did notice that his network was set for both dynamic DHCP and dynamic DNS. I know that either or both of Windstream (my ISP) and my broadband modem requires a pair of static DNS addresses.
Sure enough, delving real deep into Windstream's support site, I discovered a LinkSys router DNS help page, specifying how to set static DNS addresses in LinkSys routers. I then accessed my router, enterd the known static addresses, saved the router settings, then rebooted the iPhone and connected to the network.
SUCCESS!!!

TS1398 How do I connect to the internet with my iphone when away from home
I have an iphone 3GS which was fine , was able to connect to the internet away from home when at uni, at appointments. Since software update to IOS 6.0, can now only connect to internet wirelessly when at home-as soon as leave the house it disconnects. Is this just because of the software update? When your wifi is off. Do you see your carrier name at the top left with either 3G/4G. If not you can try a reset, hold down the home/power button until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait for the phone to boot back up.

One day randomly for no reason whatsoever, I opened up firefox on my mac and it just said firefox on the upper left as if it was open. the little upside down triangle appeared below the icon on the dock, like it was open. However, there are no windows anywhere. I click file and new window and nothing.
I right click the firefox icon on the dock and it says that there windows for example, my home page, but there is NOTHING.
I uninstalled and reinstalled and it keeps doing the same thing.

Home link in upper left corner of Desktop Facebook site does NOT work. Will not go to Newsfeed
Pressing the "Facebook" logo in top left corner will not work most of the time. The newsfeed does work..but let me explain this a little better. Say, I'm on a friends facebook page using the full site...I want to go to my newsfeed so I click the "Facebook" logo in the left hand corner next to the notification icons....poof....nothing happens, except, I notice the little padlock on the left side of the address bar disappear. I can let it sit and it will never do anything. If I press the facebook logo about 15 times, then it will finally load the newsfeed. It seems like some kind of issue going from secured to unsecured pages. It does not do this when I am in one of my groups though...odd. I have always had to use the addeess bar to go back to the newsfeed . This problem has existed through many versions of Firefox. No other browser does this.

Will a UK power plug work on a new unlocked iphone 5c purchased from USA?
I am thinking of purchasing 2 iphone 5c white 16GB handsets that are unlocked and sim free from USA as christmas presents for my parents, who live in London, UK. This would save me more money than buying in the UK.
I would be very grateful if someone could help with the following questions that are troubling me? :
1. Will the unlocked sim free 5c handsets work in UK?
2. my parents are not heavy users, they will use a pay as you go sim and not opt for a contract sim - will this be ok?
3. to power the USA purchased handsets in the UK, can I use the appropriate UK iphone adaptor or will I need to also buy a convertor of some kind?
4. what are the downsides i will have to live with from not purchasing the handsets in UK?
Thanks so much..In addition, the phones will not work on any carrier's LTE network in the UK, because the bands are different around the world. They will still work on GSM.
The power adapters are universal; all you need is an outlet pin adapter.
You will also have to either smuggle them into the UK or declare them and pay import duty and VAT. This, plus the sales tax in the US will raise the price to probably more than they would cost in the UK. Unless you smuggle them in and don't get caught. But if you DO get caught there will be a penalty on top of the import duty and VAT. So, are you a gambler? -
The contacts list on my iphone 5c suddenly shows groups in the upper left hand corner of the all contacts list and many of the phone numbers no longer show. How do I get them back? I can't seem to get the groups word to disappear.

It sounds like you may have a group of contacts hidden. While in the Contacts app, tap Groups > Show All Contacts. Take a look at the User Guide below for more information.
