Everytime I open my itunes since I was told to update, I get a message saying a problem has occured and itunes must close. However I'm never told what the problem is or given any hlep barr download the update. I have uninstalled and reinstalled three times but it still doesnt work...

Uh just to update, at around 18.77 gb data sent, data has stopped being uploaded from iTunes. Except it's still not done "uploading" the one song. So now I guess it's officially hung. WHAT'S HAPPENING???

I've tried uninstall/reinstalling it, disabling bonjour and the icuuc40 swap out to the older version but nothing has worked, yesterday I upgraded to 10.2.2 and still nothing. I haven't been able to open itunes for about a month now without it crashing.

I am able to connect my ipod and even just play itunes sucessfully. I have re installed itunes and the same problem presisits.
Make sure that your music is in the format supported by the iPhone. I use either MP3 or AAC.
A friend had the same problem a while back. All his music was in the WMA format and is therefore not playable on the iPhone and would not copy. Once he converted his songs to MP3 they copied to his iPhone without problem. -

I have recently downloaded the new itunes. My computer will open itunes but then a screen pops up that says Itunes has stopped working and must close. Itunes says I must update to 11.1, but everytime I try to run it I get an error message saying: "an error occured while running installation" Help?
The full message reads: "Errors occurred during installation before iTunes could be configured. Your system has not been modified. To complete the installation, run the installer again. Click finish to exit the installer."
I have run it again and get the same message. Have rebooted and tried again. Same results. -
iTunes keeps shutting down when I open it up. The message says iTunes has stopped working. A problem has caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solutions is found.

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. If you've already tried something like the above then try opening iTunes in safe mode (press and hold down CTRL+SHIFT as you start iTunes) then going to Edit > Preferences > Store and turning off Show iTunes in the Cloud Purchases. You may find that iTunes opens normally now.

Let's try a repair install of iTunes.
Restart the PC first.
If you're using Vista or 7, now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "iTunes" and then click "Repair".

Everytime trying 2 open itunes it says itunes has encountered a problem.

Keep in mind that it's your responsibility to provide a problem-free working environment on your computer for Photoshop, and system software (such as display drivers) can have problems.
Look in your Windows Event Logs (specifically, your Application Log) for the info requested above on the specific crashes.

When I go to open Itunes, I get a message saying "Itunes has detected a problem with your audio configuration. Audio/Video playback may not work properly. I've tried closing and re-opening Itunes but it still comes up. I've also tried removing quicktime, repairing Itunes and restarting my computer after that. It still says the same thing. I've also tried reinstalling Itunes as well.

Yes, provided all the media is inside the iTunes Media folder, which is in turn inside the main iTunes folder (which is the standard arrangement) you should be able to move the iTunes folder from <User's Music> to any other path and shift-start-Tunes (option-start-iTunes on a Mac) to reconnect to it.
If the media folder has split out to another drive in the past, or media is stored outside of the iTunes Media folder, then things get a bit more complicated. I can go into details should it be necessary.

okay, let's try this first.
Download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. then use it to clear any existing QuickTime installation configuration information from your PC:

Next, we’ll manually remove leftover program files and folders.
1. On the Start menu, click My Computer (or double-click My Computer on the Desktop).
2. In My Computer, open Local Disk.
3. Open Program Files.
4. Right-click on the QuickTime folder and click Delete from the shortcut menu.
5. Navigate to C:\Windows\system32\.
6. Remove the files QuickTime.qts and QuicktimeVR.qtx.
7. Restart your computer.
after the PC restarts we'll do a repair install of itunes.
go to your Add/Remove programs. select itunes, click "Change", and select "Repair".
that should install a current version of QuickTime for you.
if the repair install goes through okay, restart the PC again, and try to launch itunes. does it launch okay? -
This is a brand new laptop that I just bought two days ago. I was hoping to have itunes on my own computer finally, so I could sort out my horrible music situation. The installation went perfect.
