Everytime I purchase using iTunes on my home computer it asks me to verify my c/card, and states "Your Apple ID, ..., was just used to purchase ... from the iTunes Store on a computer or device that had not previously been associated with that Apple ID.
When i use my laptop to make an iTunes store purchase, it always asks me to verify my account details by entering my credit card verification number. After i do this i then receive an email stating "Your Apple ID, ..., was just used to purchase ... from the iTunes Store on a computer or device that had not previously been associated with that Apple ID."
My Laptop is my home device and apart from purchasing app's on my iphone 4, i only use my laptop to make itunes purchases.

When I downloaded these episodes to my iPad, about a dozen full seasons of various shows popped up, too. No money was removed from my iTunes account & theses particular shows aren't in my iTunes library on my desktop. I've tried every which way to delete them from my ipad, but can't. I went to the Apple store & they suggested I contact expresslane.apple.com for help. I submitted my problem, via email Friday, as they asked, but have not received any response. Any suggestions on how to get rid of these "phantoms?".

So I just got a message from Apple saying
"Your Apple ID was just used to download Podcasts from the App Store on a computer or device that had not previously been associated with that Apple ID"
I am new to Apple products and signed up to the app store about an hour before but have not downloaded any apps yet.
I also turned on iCloud Drive.
Neither of these are Podcasts and I do not have any Podcasts on my device.
The message is a really poor warning, it could for instance list the IP address which would immediately tell me if it was me.
It could list what type of device it was.
It could list what Podcast was downloaded.
But no, just some random message, probably generated by the really bad default iPhone settings that put ease of use before security.
I have a long complex password that I do not want ot have to change just because Apple generates a stupid message.
On Google you have a log of all logins and devices, is there something similar with Apple, so I can figure this out?Kroll17 wrote:

I have not down downloaded any podcasts and there are no podcasts in the podcasts app, of course if Apple were to list the podcast that was downloaded, the IP address and the device it might help one dismiss the message.
I am running the latest v8.1.1 although how the version of my OS related to a message generated by Apple servers is beyond me, unless my device is not authenticating properly so Apple thinks I am someone else but then as I have not downloaded any Podcasts that would not seem to be the issue.
It does NOT say you downloaded a podcast. First, podcasts are not downloaded from the App Store; they are downloaded from the iTunes store.
It's very clear to me; the app named "Podcasts" was downloaded, not a podcast. "Podcasts" is a app provided by Apple for managing and downloading podcasts. -
Just got an e mail to say that my Apple ID was just used to download photoshop touch for phone for 2.99 from the App Store with a receipt number. Is this a scam for me to give my Apple ID?
No but there's a link to reset your password. Etc etc..

The link sent allegedly to cancel the transaction, requires my credit card details. Is it a spam? Thanks a lot in advance for the clarification
Sounds like a scam to me or rather phishing and I would expect it to want your CC details .Hope you haven't responded

AppleI think just got scammed also with the following email from apple. I clicked the link and it sent to the i-forgot apple screen which looks authentic enough. They even had my old credit card details on the page and said I need to update them. As I had not used the account for a long time to purchase it seemed authentic enough, but when I put in the new details i got a message a minute later on my phone that a transaction from apple (ITUNES:COM/BILL) had been successful for the value of 1.98 form Luxumberg. Strange as I had not downloaded any paid app that time, just a free one from the app store. After checking the apps purchases nothing new showed up so I had no ideas what was going on.
Strangely enough, the Apple id password I changed also was changed on the official apple ID site and on all my devices so I am really not sure if it was a scam or just a f%&* up by apple. I cancelled my card just in case.
I even checked the web pages linked on the message and the authentic one and they seemed to be the same initial address.

Since the link to the Apple id: Tips for... actually says it goes to a site named "bingo", I think it's quite clear that this is a phishing email, designed to get you to click on and go to their site, not an Apple one. I hope you have not clicked on the link.
It is not a good idea to put your own persoanl information in a post on a public forum. I will ask our hosts to remove it and the link. Don't be surprised if they remove the entire thread. -
i cannot sync my iphone music, i had used my i phone on another pc, which died. Ive managed to save the hard drive and transfer stuff across. I ended up smashing my phone and could update all other stuff on restore but cant sync any music. It is all grey at the top of the screen. Ive re installed itunes and cleared all phone data. Now when i bought a song on this computer from the apple store, i have just been sent an email that says Your Apple ID, was just used to purchase (a song ) by a computer that had not been previously associated with that apple id. So do i have to tell apple now somehow i am using itunes on this pc, and if so how? Because i authorised it and it said this pc was one of 5 aujthorised. if anyone can be of assistance then great!

I had purchased Pages, Keynote and Numbers for MacPro from the App store. My computer crashed and I had to reinstall everything and they are not appearing in my Purchased. Please help.
You should be able to go > App Store > App store (menu) > store > view my account > sign in. Where do you vary after following this point. In between ID summary and Settings should be a section marked iTunes in the cloud and directly below but within that section, the message we are seeking.

I just created an iCloud email and I want to use that email for my iTunes account as well. I need help switching the old apple ID because I do not remember anything associated with that email and I don't know the security questions or the login for that old email.
You cannot do that. The AppleID you used to create the iCloud account is an active primary email address. The email address you created with the iCloud account is also an active primary email address (all Apple domain email address automatically become AppleIDs as well). You cannot replace the primary email address on one active AppleID with the primary email address on another, active AppleID.
You can use your iCloud email/AppleID with iTunes, but it will be a separate account, so all your previous purchases remain tied to the other AppleID you have.
I don't understand your statement that you could not remeber your old AppleID password, as you would have had to use it to create the iCloud account in the first place (the first step of creating the iCloud account required you to login with your existing AppleID and password)? -
I have downloaded mountain lion from the app store on another computer. I have then gone to find it in "purchases" in the app store on my own macbook pro and it just comes up as "you have not purchased any apps" how to I get my mountain lion?

I don't want my kids to see those "free" apps that nag you to spend real money and download their other apps!
I can hide them from "purchased apps", but they still show up when browsing for new apps!
Is there a way to hide them so that my kids will never see them when looking for new apps?Not other than parental oversight. On the computer you can implement Parental Controls on a separate user account that they would use. You can then block certain websites. But you cannot do that on the iPad.
You could change your iTunes account such that they cannot access it in order to buy or download apps. -
Just bought Mountain Lion from the app store on my Macbook Pro. In the middle of installion it froze up my computer saying that the installation failed,

I had a similar issue and it was an easy fix for me. First you need to log out of your account completely in the Mac App Store. Quit the application. Re-open the Mac App Store. Click log-in, enter your Apple-ID and password. Now when the screen pops-up that has all of your billing/credit card information on it DO NOT select done. Instead select View my Account, then select View hidden purchases. There you should be able to find iPhoto. Hope this helps if not let me know. I'm still searching solutions for you.

Hi. I just downloaded "angry birds" from the iTunes store. It says it was successfully downloaded and that I can use it on the two mac products I have. I can see an icon for it in the finder on the mac, but I can't figure out how to play the game. Anyone?

Five days ago I received an anonymous email with the subject:

The content started: Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64 From:(my email address) followed by a very,very,very long stream of gobbledygook. There is no record of it in my i-tunes purchases or my credit card statement but that might only be because I have not updated my credit card details. Should I be worried that my account has been compromised? Does anyone know how I can get through to the right section of Apple to deal with this - all the emails I get say no-reply so I don't have an email address to contact them on.
I would be most grateful if anyone could help me with this.
