Although the pop up block is ON, I still get pop ups especially asking to go to sites which I know are dangerous as the lead to traps viz. virus etc

hello, you have some extensions present that are probably adware. please try to [[Reset Firefox – easily fix most problems|reset firefox]] and see if this can address the issue...
also go to the windows control panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software from there and run a full scan of your system with the security software that you have in place and different other tools like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes] & [http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ adwcleaner].

Updated to FireFox 11 and I keep getting "checking compatibility of add-on" when I start the browser.

I just updated to FireFox 11 and whenever I start the browser, I get that annoying window that checks for the compatibility of add-ons.
I have looked around for solutions and have tried the following:
1. Deleting several extension files from the profile folder.
2. Going to about:config to disable the extension:checkcompatibility (does not exist there).
None of these worked.

Did you try to delete the file prefs.js?

Why Firefox 5 opening the "What's new" page every time I start the browser?

I have Firefox betas since version firefox 4 beta 1, so when it's updated to version 5, I uninstalled firefox, and install the clean version 5 with my saved settings.
Everything went okay, started the browser and it searched for addon compatibility, opened up the What's new page. But now it is for every start, so it's very annoying.
I tried clean the mess but nothing changed.

Sorry to be a while getting back! Tried all of that with no sucess so this AM, bit the bullet and deleted the FF folder from programs and downloaded and installed FF 10.01. Still was plagued with the same problem. Went into the appdata folder and there were two sessionstore.js files. Deleted them both, restarted the browser and no compatibility check for add-ons was done at start up and the extra tab for Welcome to FF was no longer opening Everything seems to be working as it should and I did not loose any of my settings.. Thank you for trying to help and I hope my solution helps anyone else who might experience this in the future. Here's hoping the next update goes smoother!

No, the camera connection kit only supports the copying of photos and videos to the Photos app, it doesn't support copying content off the iPad. For your second camera instead of the SD reader part of the kit, does the iPad to camera cable not work with it for direct transfer to the iPad ?

Mainstage asks for serial number everytime I start the program :(

I just upgraded my laptop to one of the new i7 macbok pro and installed logic pro 9 on it. Now Mainstage asks for my serial number 95% of the time I start up the program. Logic works fine and does not display this behavior. For one day I started logic first then used Mainstage and it didn't ask for the serial. I thought it was fixed but today it asks for my serial everytime I open up Mainstage 2.1.1 One of the times it asked for me to register with Apple and send them my info. I have already done this yet I turned on airport to send it again. This did not help.
Why does it continue to need the serial number everytime I start up.

I only have logic pro 9 installed, Soundtoys plug-ins, and Melodyne. This laptop is to be an audio only machine for stability. That's why I want airport off. Could that be causing the problem? It ***** I'm having problems even on a stripped down, no internet, brand new top of the line Macbook pro.
Extremely frustrating after spending my life savings on one of these laptops

This is still a problem. I thought it was solved before but it came back. After contacting Apple support and spending hours spanning multiple days they realized this is a bug. Here is the current reply from tech support:

directly if/when the serialization issue is resolved.

keep the Activity Monitor up and running when you
are using MainStage, set to show All Processes,
and see if you notice any spike in CPU usage of
one of the process that corresponds with when a

So according to apple they MAY fix this bug. "IF" it gets fixed. I spent top dollar for the latest macbook pro i7, and I purchased my own copy of Logic pro. I find this heartless reply to me, the customer very saddening. Randomly Mainstage and Logic will continually ask for me to enter my serial number and maybe one day there will be a fix or it could be an indefinite issue? ....and that's it case closed?
I am one very very unhappy apple customer. If you are planning on purchasing a top of the line macbook pro to use Mainstage problem free in a live concert setting then you could be in for extreme frustration with a large dose of buyer's remorse:(

At starting, the browser looks darker(blacker) all it, and that is it to the end. Nothing is seen, and so it can't be used. Help!

I have used the browser since I started surfing the web; I love it. However, it's been a month now since it started showing me a darker screen that couldn't let me anything. Yet the trademark that usually appears on the left angle is no longer shown whenever I open the browser on my PC. I currently use Maxthon browser as it seems somewhat reliable than IE.
Likewise, a lot of crashes on my desktop computer. Firefox is always stopping to respond and to restart automatically.
I have not seen this before, please help!
