im having trouble downloading the new update iso5 . . . . everytime it is almost to the end of downloading an error will pop up...? help please
What exactly does the error say?
Updating to iphone 5 does indeed erase your iphone, then it restores the data (assuming you have made sure that everything on your iphone is on your computer first).

I purchased an album from iTunes using my desktop computer. All of the songs from the album are on my computer and play perfectly. When I try to sync the songs to my iPhone or iPad, I get an error message that says 3 of the songs can not be downloaded to these devices. Any ideas?
Thanks very much I have contacted them via this. Just hope they respond quickly- rather annoing! Greatly appreciated though

I am having trouble downloading purchased songs to my iphone. I keep getting an error message that the song could not be downloaded. Why? How do I fix this?
Hello Dawnellk,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information on this, take a look at:
Downloading past purchases from the iTunes Store, App Store, and iBooks Store
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519
Previous purchases may be unavailable if they have been refunded or are no longer on the iTunes Store.
Best of luck,

I have an ipad2 and it won't let me reload an app that I accidently deleted. It is a free app that I had downloaded without a problem and now when I try to re-install it, a message comes up repeatedly that says Error 1004-Try again later. Please help!
Thanks,
TryingtorelaxTry this and see if it works for you.
Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Data/Cache. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button. -
why is it when i try to download an app for my iphone 4s it keeps saying can not connect to itunes store?
Unless there is an emerging issue with this, give this article a try:

When I try to download free updates for apps, I've suddenly started getting an error message saying "You cannot update this software since you have not owned the major version of this software".
But I HAVE owned the software, for ages. (And, in any case, the apps in question are all free.)
And I don't have multiple Apple IDs.
What can I do?
Any advice much appreciatedThis can occur if you bought the machine used and iLife was reinstalled with another AppleID.
This also can occur if the "free apps" you downloaded have paid upgraded versions and/or are now payware and you can't get updates.
All software from MAS is copy protected, it might be free as in "no charge" but it's not free in the sense you can share it with others. -
Every time I try to install an update for iTunes 11.0.2, I get an error message 103. Has anyone else had this problem and found a way to fix this?
I did it the .dmg way alone and has problems with itunes crashing. This is a better way to ensure that there is not anything left behind to cause issues.
You need to backup your computer then uninstall I-tunes and reinstall itunes.
Delete iTunes
Deleting iTunes is not recommended unless you know what you’re doing.
Launch Terminal from the UTILITIES within Applications
Type the following commands:
cd /Applications/
This brings you into the Applications directory, the next command deletes iTunes itself:
sudo rm -rf iTunes.app/
Enter the Administrator password to confirm
There is no warning or confirmation other than entering the admin password, iTunes will immediately be deleted, effectively uninstalling it from the Mac.
Deleting the iTunes application will NOT delete the ITUNES or music, and any purchases bought through iTunes will still remain tied to the Apple ID used to originally buy them.
You can download the newest version from Apple, and running their installer will bring iTunes back to life on your computer.

"There was a problem downloading the software for the iPhone....An unknown error occurred (-23)." What should I do?
i have the same problem:
I have an iphone 4s and I have been trying for months to update my phone from iOS 6.1.3 to the new one.
I recently got a new computer (my old harddrive crashed and will not work at all) and I just now copied all my music and photos to the computer.
Now I have been trying to update to the iOS 7.1 both on iTunes and on the iPhone but neither one work. I keeps saying "unknown error" .
I am wondering if I restore it to factory settings and then update it will the install work?
also since i have backed up to the iCloud and my computer..will i be able to recover my music, contacts, notes and photos???
thanks in advance. -
Whilst synching to my PC it said there was a software update for the iPhone.
It is now stuck with a message saying connect to iTunes. I've tried resetting it in various ways but it still comes back to Connect to iTunes, but it won't.
Help!See Here > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
You may need to try this More than Once...
But... if the Device has been Modified... this will Not necessarily work. -

Does anybody know what I can do to update my ipad without losing all my data. I am trying to update my current version to the 5.1 version and it keeps giving a error message stating that "an error has occured with the back up and if I continue I will lose all content. Will I be able to get my stuff back such as games, music, aps, etc back after I finish or will they be lost forever. Can somebody please help me I am lost and not sure where to get support on this issue.
Thank you so much
AliciaIf you continue and you lose everything, you will be able to download most of the content again for free as long as you use the same Apple ID. You can read this about downloading past purchases.
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519
But before you continue and lose everything, try this.
Eject your iPad, quit iTunes and restart your computer. Then launch iTunes and go to Edit>Preferences>Devices. See if you have mutliple iPad backups showing in there. If you have multiple backups, delete all but one of them. Also check the box at the bottom that turns off auto sync .... Prevent iPods ......Click OK and Then quit iTunes.
Connect the iPad again and launch iTunes. Right click on your iPad name on the left side of iTunes and select backup. See if the iTunes will create a backup. If it does, after it finishes, click on the Summary Pane on the right and click on check for update. Try to update again.
If it all goes OK, after you update the iOS you can back to Edit>Preferences>Devices and turn on atuo sync again - assuming that is how you want to sync. -
I am trying to update the new OS system on my iPhone 4, however, when I connect to iTunes and try to download, I keep getting an error message that says the connection is not established. I ran a diagnostics test and everything passed, however, I'm not sure why I keep getting an error message when the software is at the end of downloading.
Any tips?Disable your firewall/security software.

I keep getting an error message that says "The administrator has set policies to prevent this installation" when I try to install iTunes. I have tried everything on the website. When i try to remove the components of iTunes I get the same message. How can I download iTunes?
Let's try something relatively simple. Download and save a copy of the installer to your hard drive (don't run the install on line and don't start the install just yet):
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Now right-click on the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) that you downloaded and select "Run as administrator".
Does that go through any better for you? -
I keep getting an error code that says "code redemption temporarily unavailable try again later". how long do I need to wait to try again?
Hi, Kenny.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
There are a couple things that I would recommend trying. Try closing all open applications and power cycle the device. Next, go through the section labeled Troubleshoot issues on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch in the second article below. If the issue persists, try completely signing out of the iTunes Store on the iOS device and sign back in. Be sure to test downloading an application after each step.
