Everytime I try to sync with my iTunes on Windows I get the following message, 'This iPad cannot be used because the required software is not installed. Please run the iTunes installer to remove iTunes, then install iTunes again.' Help please?!

I bought an iPad 2 about 8 weeks ago, having had iTunes and an iPod touch for about 3 years previously. From the moment I plugged the iPad into the laptop the above message pops up.
Does anyone know how to fix this? Have deleted and reinstalled all iTunes software from the system, tried using a new cable to fix it but nothing seems to sort it. My iTunes no longer recognises my iPod Touch now either!
Please help!

Try removing and reinstalling all the Apple software using:
