EWM without ECC

A customer has a requirement for a standalone inventory management/warehouse management system.  Is it possible to implement SCM's EWM without ECC or any other backend system?  We would need full inventory mangement including goods receipts, goods movements, warehouse, storage, bins, and physical inventory.
I did look at the Master Guide, but it seems to contradict in various areas and I am looking for confirmation.
Thanks,
Mark

i will differ a little on the previous response.
you could in THEORY you could linkEWM to a NON ERP instance, HOWEVER you would need to replicate the inbound and outbound processing for RFC processing with custom ABAP code.
Remember all the integration function modules are configured so you could in theory create Z-functions which are RFC to communicate to another system (non SAP)
remember also you would need to get business partners in wich is via a CIF which in theory can be redeveloped via Z custom.
But you could manually
ALSO remember that EWM can be linked via IDOC's which mean in theory you can link it to ANOTHER NON SAP system and route the messages to another system maybe using XI.  This might be easier than the above option.
Hope this help and dont underestimat the task.
There is also AT the BOTTOM of the EWM help a area with business connectors which might help.
Hope this helps
kind regards
Jim

  • How to check inventory inconsistence btwn EWM Vs ECC

    Hi Experts,
Is there any report to check inventory inconsistence btwen EWM Vs ECC? Like WMS LX23 to clear difference btwn IM Vs WM stock?
    Thanks,
    Julia

    Hi Julia,
If u mean manually = Physical stock.
Then you need to do EWM physical inventory and match count the stock and close the inventory.
Steps create PI document + Activate + count + post the difference.
    and settle the stock accordingly.
This process is use for handling the difference of stock with SAP and physically.
Please let me know I drafted my assumptions correctly

  • Can you use ECC memory in a motherboard without ECC support

I am trying to help a friend from long distance and have limited knowledge about his system. The motherboard is a 845GLMS/GVMS series MS-6754 (v1.X) Micro ATX Mainboard.  He is wanting to upgrade the RAM and the manual says:
    Main Memory
Support four memory banks using two 168-pin unbuffered SDDRM DIMMs.
Max memory size is 2GB without ECC (1GB/slot).
Most everything I'm finding (at least with a low price) is ECC. Will ECC memory (obviously without the ECC working) function on that motherboard?

He needs to use non-ECC RAM, ECC is for server MB's. Where are you looking for RAM and what size & speed does he need, PC100 or PC133? What prices are you finding?

  • GDS without ECC at backend

    Hi GDS experts,
    1. We are planning to implement SAP GDS solution but without ECC at backend. Is it possible to do that?
    2. Do you have the import and export XSD structures that we can use to import and syndicate data to and from GDS repository?
    Regards,
    -T

    Hi TechX,
    1. You can implement GDS without ECC as the backend. The Solution could be to make use of GDS UI to manually enter data into the fields of various tabs which you wish to.
    2. While implementing GDS try to make use of GDS UI to make data entry or to create link between two levels in hierarchy. Making use of Import manager may lead to inconsistencies as you need to update data into various tables like Main Table(TMData), Lookup Table (Global Data, Partner Specific Data) etc. So you have to be very sure that appropriate entries will be made in all the affected tables which can be achieved easily by making use of GDS UI.

  • TU creation in EWM using ECC Shipment

    Hi All
Can someone help me with correct steps to create shipment in ECC which can create TU in EWM using standard IDoc interface?
I followed steps as per help.sap, integration between ECC & EWM is fine. I could see the shipment IDoc in EWM but it is getting failed. After debugging I have realized that I should not pack HUs into Container while creating shipment in ECC.
    But is that correct process?
    Thanks

    Hi Thiru
If have already followed SAP Help, please post the error what you are getting.

Check these discussions also. Also you can check the below SAP documentation.
Define Default Values for IDoc Outbound
    Use
You can use this Customizing activity to define default values for IDoc outbound that are required for the integration with the Transportation (LE-TRA) component of SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (SAP ERP).
These master data values in SAP ERP are needed in the IDocs sent from EWM to SAP ERP. Without these values, SAP ERP does not accept the IDocs.
    Note:
These default values are only used during creation or deletion of shipments in ERP. They are not used when existing shipments are changed or updated.

You have made the following settings:
You have defined logical systems in Customizing for SAP NetWeaver under Application Server -> IDoc Interface / Application Link Enabling (ALE) -> Basic Settings -> Logical Systems -> Define Logical System. If you use EWM as an add-on application for ERP, you have set up two logical systems: SYSTEM_1 and SYSTEM_2.

You can define default values for IDoc outbound in the following way:
    1. Enter the following data:
    Business system
    Message type
    Shipment type
      Note:
You need to define a separate shipment type in ERP. Use this shipment type for message type SHPMNT. The IDoc is only filled with this shipment type if transportation planning type is "B - Obligatory Internal Planning in EWM". This shipment type for transportation planning type B must be different from the shipment types that you use for transportation planning type "A - Obligatory External Planning in ERP". Otherwise, ERP sends an IDoc back to EWM, which is not intended within warehouse outbound processing with transportation planning in EWM.
    Transportation planning point
    Note:
You need to define a separate transportation planning point in ERP, for example "0002 - Dummy for Deletion". Use this transportation planning point for message type SHIPPL. The IDoc is only processed in ERP if you define this transportation planning point in ERP as a transportation planning point for external systems. For more information, see Customizing for ERP under Logistics Execution -> Transportation -> Interfaces -> External Transportation Planning Systems -> Maintain Transportation Planning Point for External Systems.
In this Customizing activity, you need to enter the logical system of EWM as the partner number of external transportation planning system, the partner type of the logical system (for example, LS), an external number range (for example, 01), and the controlling parameter for changes (for example, "00 - no restrictions for changes").
    2. Save your entries.

  • Error while posting GR from EWM in ECC. "Problem with receiver finding"

    Hi
I have completed putaway of inbound delivery in EWM. This has triggered PPF to ECC for GR posting. This is stuck in ECC SMQ2 with error "Problem with receiver finding".
I have checked ECC>EWM interface configuration. Handling unit management setup in ECC and EWM. Do not see any issues there. Also tested GR account postings with IM storage location for Po in ECC. This is also working fine...so no issue with account determination.
Unable to figure out what is causing issue. Please help. Thank you.

    Hi All
Thanks for your responses. Issue was with distrubution model fiter parameters. for message type InboundDelivery.Deliverychange there was additional filter parameter for logical system. Removed values for logical system and only retained warehouse number.
With this issue is resolved. GR is posted succesfully in ECC.

  • Goods receipt and post goods issue are not updated back from EWM to ECC

    Hi Experts,
Would anybody able to tell me the setting to be modified / defined to backward flow of information from EWM to ERP i.e. the goods receipt, goods issue are not being updated back in ECC once the goods receipt and  post goods issue are posted in EWM?
It would be great help if i get the response as early as possible.
    Chakrapani Das

    Hi Chakrapani,
You might want to try checking the customization on the SCM part following this path:
SPRO - Extended Warehouse Management - Interfaces - ERP Integration - General Settings
Pay special attention on the Check of ERP-EWM Configuration transaction.
After you have checked these you should probably check the outbound queue monitor (tx SMQ1) from EWM to ERP. You can use the SMQ1 - Outbound queue and SMQ2 - Inbound Queue both in ERP and SCM to check the communication betweene these two systems.
Also you may want to checkt the SLG1 - Analyse application Log in SCM in order to see if any internal bugs exist.
    All the best,

I´ve been searching notes about the option of install the ABAP engine only, without the ECC 6.0.

    Hi Ruben,

  • EWM and ECC delivery status

Dear, all, During implementation of SAP EWM, we face with process which required interaction integration of statuses with ERP Sales order and Outbound delivery, but in standard EWM scenario this integration possible only via  goods issue and EWM outbound delivery or with IDOC in outbound transports, but we don’t use outbound transport and statuses we need before goods issue, any experiences in such processes?
    Scenario:
    1. Manager create Sales Order and delivery in ECC
    2. Warehouse pick and pack goods, in real time we need transfer statuses to ECC from EWM by each position.
    3. Based on statuses manager correct Sales order and issue Invoice for customer, or replace missing position by creating new delivery in ECC for the same Sales order;
    Thx in advance!

    Hi Andrey,
This can be achieved by status management of  SAP EWM PPF action. check on delivery type , check FM for status management., check save replica FM, apply logic to update ECC for any change of del line item and header for your new status.
and denials to short close can be done from EWM. and then you can cerate new del as proper obd is updated with actuals

  • Transporttaion Cross Docking between EWM and ECC across company codes

    Seceanrio is as follows:
We have an EWM managed site in GB, and an IM managed site in IE.
We would like to use the transportation cross docking solution from within Service Parts Management to transfer goods from GB to IE, (ECC > EWM > ECC) across company codes.
Is this possible within the standard SAP solution?
    Thanks in advance,
    Craig Bramhald

    Hi Hari
Inter Company Purchase scenario works when the same material exists in both the company codes... I dont know how SAP would manage this in the case of Assets, when the Same Asset No is not existent in the other Co Code...
However, Refer 1523976  PurchaseOrderERPRequest_In_V1:Asset account assignment fails
This applies to EhP4 / EhP5 - But I dont know if you are using the enterprise service PurchaseOrderERPRequest_In_V1 ....
If not, better create an OSS message to SAP and check with them mentioning the notes that you have mentioned in your message

  • Posting changes from EWM to ECC

    Hello dear experts
When I create a posting change in EWM, for example to change stock type from F1 to F2, a message is sent to ERP using goods movement interface. Usually in ERP a 311 movement is created to move the stock from one storage location to another.
Anyway, the HU data in ERP does not get updated. In HUMO you still see it in old storage location.
Is it possible to generate a delivery in ECC from EWM posting change?
I would like not to go through direct deliveries as they are creating STO in ERP and require a unique customer for each storage location, which is difficult because it would require changes to intecompany model .
    Does anyone have a solution?
    Thanks
    Best regards
    Carlo

    Hello Sathish
To my understanding, when a posting change delivery itself is created in ERP and distributed (for example a DTR delivery type) the system finds a predecessor and uses delivery interface
And also, when you are creating a posting change for an HU linked to a delivery, and the HU was not moved yet to a final storage type, /SPE/GOODSMVT_CREATE fm is called with reference to the delivery. This if you did the customizing for inbound deliveries under "Interfaces/ERPIntegration/Set Control Parameters for ERP Version Control
In ERP you will see the posting change in document flow for delivery
    That's all I know..
    Best regards

  • Is PPDS PDS possible without ECC ie using LSMW BAPI or similar?

We are trying to get an APO SNP/PPDS model working for planning in divisions before hooking up fully to ECC, and have got SNP PDS uploads working fine for SNP using BAPI (BUS10014     Production Data Structure) which we trigger within an LSMW.
But trying to create PPDS PDS instead (so we can use some block planning functionality) and I have not got to work yet. Almost works, ie data goes into most of the background table, but PPDS PDS cannot be seen in display transaction, and cant use it.
Wondering if anyone else has got to work? And if it is even POSSIBLE? ie maybe PPDS is only designed to work with ECC wheras SNP can work stanalone or with non-SAP system?

    Hello all,
It is possible that you have syntax error for development objects that are assigned to a package (Dev class) that is 'switchable' and that its switch is off.
In general, these development objects are meant to be used when specific 'business functions' are switched on.
Switching on a business function has to be analyzed and tested carefully because most of them CANNOT be switched off. Even Reversible business functions cannot be switched off when they are activated in a productive system. This is forbidden.
In this specific example, program SAPLBOS04 belongs to package AD_BOS_01. This package contains switchable objects related to switch ECO_BOS. This switch can be switched on via more than one 'industry-specific' business functions all belonging to DIMP.
Switching on DIMP has to be analyzed thoroughly because some business functions are getting automatically switched on (Bfunc DIMP_SDUD) and cannot be reverted.
Each business function activates different functionality. Documentation can be found in IMG -> Activate Business Functions (TA SFW5). There you have a Documentation column with a link to the Help Portal.
Using TA SFW_BROWSER you can see the different objects related to business functions displayed in a tree.
Before switching on business functions you have to take precautions. See http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp1/helpdata/en/de/899442047b0831e10000000a1550b0/content.htm
