Example for ALV interactive report

Do you have any example of interactive ALV report?
My requirement is:
First I have to display all sales orders on a ALV output. Then if the user clicks on a particular sales order among these, it will go to another ALV output containing the details related to this sales order.
Please provide me a sample code if you can.

  • Need unique Variants in ALV interactive report

    Hello Experts,
                          I have a ALV interactive report in which a layout variant  created in one layout is been reflecting in all other layouts, which i dont want. I want to create different variants for different layouts in interactive report.How can i achieve this.

    Hi,
        Event form names are appended to an internal table and passed to the ALV. And whatever you write inside that form
    can be called through the function module.
    What you are trying to do is modify the internal table with the form name, which does not exsist. Instead of this append it.
    There are lot of example of this ALV list events.

    both are used for same purpose
    interactive report means an output list which displays basic details & allows user to interact, so that a new list is populated based on user-selection. With interactive list, the user can actively control data retrieval and display during the session. a total no of 21 lists including main list are genearetd in interactive lists.
    I suggest to use ALV.by using ALV we can display in Grid as well as list format.
    Output format will be good . Sorting,Filtering facilities are provided by itself.We can have column headings also. using oops we can also do alv reporting.

    Hi Imran,
        Here i am trying to explain through the standard ALV FMs...
    1) You will do the same coding as how you will do for normal ALV through FMs.
    2)  Create an event type variable of type - SLIS_T_EVENT
    3) Call function module REUSE_ALV_EVENTS_GET to get all the events like 'USER COMMAND'
    4) Fill the internal table with the form name against USER COMMAND event.
    5) create FORM & ENDFORM for the USER COMMAND event.
    6) With in the form which you created in 5th step, create a variable of type - SLIS_SELFIELD, to capture user click information like on which field name & value user clicked.
    7) When you press on Base list of ALV, SY-UCOMM value will be &IC1, based on that you can validate whether user clicked or not on base list.
    8) Again you will populate the internal tables with required entries for the interactive list and we will call REUSE_ALV fm once again.

  • TITLE for the Interactive report

    I like to show a Title for the Interactive Report in several different languages.
    But it seems if I just pick Interactive report, there will be no Title shown.
    What is proper way of doing this ?
    So, what I did was, I created a HTNL region, just to show the Title, but it seems the translation and XLF file doesn't pick it up

    It looks like a bug.
    The REGION title text is missing in "TRANSLATE APPLICATION" in "SHARED COMPONENTS" under WINDOWS environment.
    The REGION title text is in SUN environment, but does not shown as translated in the browser.

    You can trigger the AT LINE-SELECTION event by double-clicking a line. The system sets the status TEST and deactivates the function code PICK. The status TEST contains function codes FC1 to FC5. These are assigned to pushbuttons in the application toolbar. The page header of the detail list depends on the status.
    Here, double-clicking a line no longer triggers an event. However, there is now an application toolbar containing five user-defined pushbuttons. You can use these to trigger the AT USER-COMMAND event. The CASE statement contains a different reaction for each pushbutton.
    For each interactive event, the system decreases the SY-LSIND system field by one, thus canceling out the automatic increase. All detail lists now have the same level as the basic list and thus overwrite it. While the detail list is being created, SY-LSIND still has the value 1.

  • How to remember what I search for in Interactive Report's search field

    I made Cro-Eng dictionary using Interactive Report by joining two table columns of Croatian and English word. Now I want to remember every word that I write in the search field of Interactive Report by filling the table SEARCHEDWORDS which has two columns WORD and DATE, so that I can see all the searches that were made and the date they were made. Is it possible? Do I need triggers for that, or do I do it through processes in edit page of Interactive report? something like INSERT INTO SEARCHEDWORDS (WORD, DATE)

    The last step is Javascript so you'll need to create an HTML region and wrap the code in &lt;script&gt; tags. The Javascript basically overwrites the default actions to refresh the IR report. Instead it says to call a custom function which first logs the search request then makes a request to refresh the IR region.

    If you have multiple IR pages then you can include the code on Page 0 or on each of those pages. Since you're trying to log information for several different IR you may want to add some extra columns to your log table to include which IR the searches belong to.     Don't use Nested selected statements.
    Use the Following  Performance Tuning Options that i have given below so that your problem can be solved.
    1)  Always check the driver internal tables is not empty, while using FOR ALL ENTRIES
    2) Avoid for all entries in JOINS
    3) Try to avoid joins and use FOR ALL ENTRIES.
    4)   Try to restrict the joins to 1 level only ie only for tables
    5)   Avoid using Select *.
    6)   Avoid having multiple Selects from the same table in the same object.
    7)  Try to minimize the number of variables to save memory.  
    8)   The sequence of fields in 'where clause' must be as per primary/secondary index ( if any)
    9)   Avoid creation of  index as far as possible
    10) Avoid operators like  <>, > , < & like % in where clause conditions
    11) Avoid select/select single statements in loops.
    12) Try to use 'binary search' in READ internal table. Ensure table is sorted before using   BINARY SEARCH.
    13) Avoid using aggregate functions  (SUM, MAX etc) in selects ( GROUP BY , HAVING,)  
    14) Avoid using  ORDER  BY in selects
    15) Avoid Nested Selects
    16) Avoid Nested Loops of Internal Tables
    17) Try  to  use FIELD SYMBOLS.

  • Using a variable db link for an interactive report

    I have a requirement where users will select an instance (db link) from an apex LOV and the data in an interactive report will query based on the db link selected.
    I can use a db link in an interactive report query but only if I provide the exact name of the link. If I do something link select * from foo@:P12_DBLINK it doesn't work.
    It seems my only option is to use something like apex_collection.create_collection_from_query and then I can build my query with dynamic sql and use a variable for the dblink name. Then I just create an IRR based on my collection.
    Does that sound like that correct approach and/or am I missing anything?

    I guess I have it working ok. I am able to create a region of type 'PL/SQL Dynamic Content' and do something like this and it works. As I change the dblink select list the report refreshes with data from that instance. Pretty cool! I just can't believe it's this much work to do this. This is just one column of data and I have about 10 columns that I need to display:
